Kapsa Monument Co did a beautiful monument for me and my late husband a few years ago and placed it…read morein a Hillside cemetery. The monument has a vase on each side. Recently one of the vases has become loose. I've tried to reach out to Kapsa a few times. No one ever answers the phone. I've left 3 messages in over a week and half stating my issue and asked for the favor of a reply. I've yet to hear back from Kapsa. This monument wasn't cheap. I've reached out to two other monument companies in the area in the meantime and they are willing to help but say Kapsa should stand behind their business and take care of this. If they can or can't, either way the courtesy of a reply is expected for such an expensive monument. I can't rate them good in the service area as they are non responsive.

Buyer beware. This place is absolutely awful. They will screw you on the contract and they are very…read moredisrespectful. They will intentionally and purposely omit IMPORTANT and KEY things from the contract, and this can screw you in the end. When I caught these items, owner refused to correct them. Here they are: 1.) They verbally said that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the price, but when you get the contract it does not say this, and when you ask the owner to add, he refuses. Don't ever sign the contract unless they clearly write in text that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the headstone price, just like they verbally say. 2.) Draft of the drawing, design, and inscriptions was not attached. How else will you know what the heck you are getting?!?!? Don't accept without this! 3.) Full names of the deceased were omitted. This contract is also combined into the application for the cemetery. Are we just trying to get the cemetery office to guess? 4.) Memorialist didn't sign the cemetery contract on the back, which is required before you can even place any headstone in the cemetery. The cemetery has its own rules which we all have to agree to. We don't own the cemetery. These are all normal procedures for all cemeteries. 5.) Approximate date of delivery was missing. You can't just put a season like spring or summer. The owner was very disrespectful. When trying to resolve this in a calm manner, he talked over me. I tried talking to the owner nicely on the phone, but all he did was hang up on me. Avoid this business, and go to others in the area that will: actually put in writing what they say verbally, are willing to actually fill out a contract completely, and treat you with respect. After all, if you are paying them thousands of dollars for a headstone, I would think that you would at least have the above taken care of. This place is absolutely awful. STAY AWAY.

I do not trust Bruno's work and will not hire them again. They tried to skirt out of a contract…read moreand also lied several times. They were under contract to spot tuck-point an entire wall but instead they only did the top of the wall and then claimed that the work was completed. When confronted about the rest of the wall, they repeatedly lied saying they did the entire wall and said that I was seeing shadows. Only after producing photos (I attached a few photos) of gaping holes did they grudgingly get back on the wall to complete the job. They said "ugh, I guess we missed a few spots" Unless you plan on babysitting them throughout the project, I do not recommend them.

They did some spot tuckpoint work at the top of the building but then used a vinegar spray to make it appear they had completed tuckpointing on the areas showing effervescence. The effervescence returned since they had not fixed any cracks in the mortar in those within a few months. We tried to work this out with them, but had to file a complaint with the better business bureau and now considering small claims court against them. I notice a review by Matty C on 8-3-20 that reports the same issue we had with them claiming to have done work and arguing with us despite the evidence of the building looking the exact same before and after.

I am so disappointed to see that Webb Masonry clearly doesn't know how to manage a project. They…read morehave had three stories of scaffolding up and blocked off a very busy sidewalk for almost six months without doing any work. They have unapologetically taken over part of my yard without discussing it with me. I know the city of Chicago can be difficult to work with, based on communication with the building owner it seems like Webb doesn't know how to get permitting etc in a timely manner. Your contractors ability to work within Chicago's permitting process is an important factor. It is my sincere opinion that based on the lack of work for this very large project Webb has bit off more than they can chew. I think it is very important to hire a company who knows their capabilities. After discussion with other construction professionals I have been told there is absolutely no reason this project should be taking this long unless the contractor is not capable of the work or they accept projects they do not have the time to work on. If timeliness and expertise in how to manage a project in Chicago is important to you I would look past Webb Masonry and onto another.

He's enthusiastic and has a lot of energy and will spend time considering alternatives. His team's workmanship is fine; however, they left a mess on our new sidewalk splattering a bunch of tar that stained it. Follow through can be a bit frustrating, as it is with many contractors. It took them about 6 months to finally finish off one piece of our work. In the end, they did follow through and we're now happy. We'll consider using them again but we learned our lesson: do not pay the final bill until after all work is done.
