Have bought from Build.com sometimes. Usually the experience was fine all respects, but this time I did have an issue. I called and said I wanted to purchase a certain sink for my kitchen redo. The rep I spoke to said that the one I wanted -- a fireclay type -- didn't have the metal grate at the bottom or drainer that I wanted, and I needed to order a different one. The problem that arose was, he didn't catch that the one I first wanted to order was a drop-in type, and the one shipped was an undermount. So consequently they shipped me a 75 pound undermount sink, two days before I was scheduled to have it installed. Not good. I'm not of an age that I enjoy lugging a 75-pound sink back to UPS for a return. Charged me $18 extra for the return, that's okay but it was a mix up that could have been avoided. Rep could have saved a lot of aggravation by double checking on that. read more

I need tiles for tricky bathroom...trim pieces, corner pieces, etc. This is something that I was willing to pay more for in order to speak with a human who could help me figure it. I made an appointment (more than a week in advance). The morning of my appt, someone from this store called me and told me they don't have tile consultation (EVEN THOUGH that's an option when you schedule your appointment). But why did I have to wait to 10 days for them to tell me that? I'll go somewhere else. read more

We recently bought appliances for our entire house with Ferguson. The day we moved in we found our refrigerator and freezers were not what we thought we ordered and had discussed with the sales rep. We called immediately and the same sales rep was extremely rude and abrasive. We were told they would not take back "used" appliances. Very disappointing coming from a company that we just purchased 3 washers and dryers, 7 bathrooms and 2 kitchens worth of appliances through. I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I purchased "luxury" appliances for a kitchen remodel from the Highland Park store. The sales person forgot to include trim kit for the refrigerator so installation delayed for 2 weeks. When completed, the installers and I noted the top grill was rattling. They said they couldn't do anything about it because of the time (it took 6 hours for them to figure out how to install the door panels). I called the Highland Park rep the following day and she told me that I needed to contact the manufacturer for a service call. I reminded her that the crew had done the work the previous afternoon and she said that is the policy. My problem not hers. GO TO ABT instead. They follow up with their customers. I set-up an appointment to view options for my bathroom remodel. I met with a salesperson and she was friendly and helpful, but I could tell she was very busy. No problem. She said she would send me a quote; however, after almost 2 weeks I never received the quote. When I contacted the salesperson I could tell she had forgotten. Like I said. She was busy. Ok, no problem. I had lots of questions and changes to the quote so we emailed each other frequently. Finally, I selected all the items I needed, except for the bathtub, which I needed to select to complete my order. After testing tubs at several local bath stores, I decided we needed a 66x36 tub so I asked her to research a tub that size so I could add it to the order. She said that was an unusual size and sent me several links, but kept telling me to pay for the order through their customer service. FYI - No, it's not an unusual size. I could tell she was busy and just wanted me to pay and move on because she kept telling me to take the order number to customer service and pay. But, I didn't have everything I needed. I needed a tub to complete the order and I needed her help, but wasn't getting it. I then emailed her the following week and told her the exact tub I needed - name, size, etc. I got no response for almost 3 weeks. So, I went to Kohler Studio and got a quote on everything I wanted, including the tub. The quote took 1 day for me to receive. Their prices were higher than Ferguson for the same items, so I negotiated with the Kohler salesperson to meet the Ferguson quote and they did. They also took the time to explain a few things about the items I selected and made much needed recommendations. They took the time with me that I needed. After all, I'm spending over $5,000 for faucets, tubs, sinks, shower system, etc., so rushing me isn't a good idea. The bottom line - the salesperson at Ferguson was so busy and overwhelmed that she just wanted me to pay and move on. When we first met, I mentioned lighting and she said, "Oh, we'll get to that later." She said that because she just wanted to close the sale and move on. Surprise, surprise, we never discussed lighting. She didn't have the time. read more

Ferguson Enterprises ... aka Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery. Man, I've really been avoiding writing this review. It's not going to be pleasant, so get ready. OK, so my husband and I just bought a new condo, and we wanted to change out some of the builder's grade light fixtures that were in the unit. So we hit up a bunch of specialty lighting stores, and Ferguson was one of them. We were greeted by Jennifer, who was really friendly and helpful. She gave us a bunch of large catalogs, which were not cheap (a few of them retail for $15 each, according to the back barcode), for free. After going to a couple different places and comparing prices (it seems like prices on any designer light fixtures are going to be about the same wherever you go), we decided to order from Ferguson since we were given all of those huge catalogs for free. So, we have a pretty large order. We bought three pendant lights for over a kitchen island, a drum light for a dining room table and a large entryway light. When our order arrived at the store, the box that the entryway light came in was damaged (I posted a photo of the damaged box). My husband was the one who picked it up from the store. When I got home from work and saw the box, I was like, "O-Kay, what the heck happened here?" My husband said the store acknowledged that the box had been a little damaged in the shipping process, but that the fixture should be OK. When we opened it up, the fixture itself seemed pretty intact; some of the spokes that held the light bulbs were a little bent, but we were able to bend them back into place. However, five or six of the little, silver balls that held these glass pieces onto the fixture were scuffed in the shipping process, scratching the metallic finish. (Everything else we ordered looked great and was not damaged.) I sent Jennifer an email telling her about the scratched silver balls on the entryway light. She said she would contact the manufacturer and have the replacement balls sent to our home. After waiting a couple days, I emailed her again asking when we should expect to receive the replacements. She said we should get the replacement parts by the end of the week, and she would send me the UPS tracking info. After waiting another five days without receiving the parts in the mail or the tracking info, I emailed her again. She apologized for it taking so long to get the replacement parts, but she said she didn't have any tracking info to give me. She said she would get in touch with the light manufacturer and have this resolved within the next 24 hours. After waiting two more days, I sent her another email, though this time I tell her that I'm really unhappy. I said I was trying to be reasonable, but this was getting a little ridiculous and needed to get resolved right now--especially since we spent SEVERAL hundred dollars with her company. I then suggested swapping out our scuffed silver balls with the silver balls that were on the floor model of the exact same light fixture in her showroom. She said that was fine, and my husband stopped by to swap out parts, and that was that. When it was all said and done, yes, our problem got resolved, but the process it took to get there was pretty inexcusable. I mean, to me, the true test of a company is its ability to handle a problem. In this situation, Ferguson came up short. It shouldn't take two weeks of emails back and forth to get a problem resolved. And, mind you, the problem only got resolved after I suggested swapping parts with the floor model. Who knows how long we'd still be going back and forth without a resolution, had I not suggested one. Throughout this whole process, Jennifer was friendly and polite. I never got the impression that she was blowing me off--she always responded to my emails--but she didn't exactly do what she said she was going to do in the emails. The only response I got was when I followed up with her after not hearing anything after she said she was going to do something. It just seemed like getting my replacement parts was not a priority. Besides, being friendly and polite in email correspondence doesn't equate to good customer service when a resolution has not been reached. The bottom line is that when a customer has a problem with a product, fixing that problem needs to be a priority. In this case, Ferguson did not do that. All of these specialty lighting stores sell the same fixtures, so I would recommend ordering from a different store. read more

Between a very limited showroom and a sales person that talked WAY too much, we ended up getting something on-line to avoid the tax anyway. We were looking at ceiling fans and they had a very limited selection on the floor, so they sat us down with 2 catalog's to look through and a whole lot of small talk. Stick with amazon (so far no tax), my friends, especially since you can't see it in person anyway. read more

I started my renovation project at Studio 41 near Merchandise Mart (near my job) and in Lincolnwood (near nothing) and while the team in Lincolnwood was MUCH nicer than the folks on Hubbard (it wouldn't take much) there wasn't nearly the responsiveness and pricing transparency that I got at Ferguson. I was initially very overwhelmed by by master bath rehab- Sarah was easy to work with and worked well with my contractor to replace a Kohler tub that arrived with minor damage. I had to return a kitchen faucet to Studio 41 because our plumber wouldn't install it (plastic supply lines he said). It was the most UNCOMFORTABLE return I ever experienced. The salesperson wasn't even going to take it back until I pointed out that it looked like it had already been open when I received it from them. Terrible. We then went over to Fergusons. (I had gone to Studio 41 because it was walking distance from my home). We were directed to the parts department when I told them what the issue was. The man in the parts department literally pulled out a "random" faucet which would fit our needs and was on my top three list coincidentally. We went into the showroom to see it upright. The man from the parts department came into the showroom and asked if it was ok if he helped someone else - - he didn't want us to have to wait. I've never had that happen before! I had used Ferguson's for all my plumbing supplies when I redid my bathroom and they were very helpful and knowledgable that time as well. I definitely recommend them - - great customer service! read more

Not sure why this place received poor reviews. It is very upscale and the customer service was excellent. They have a great selection of luxury kitchen appliances such as Wolf and Viking and great pieces for the bathroom as well. Both times I visited I was greeted and helped immediately. I ended up buying a lighting fixture for my bathroom vanity here and I love it. I had to order it but it arrived in only 1 day via FedEx. It was on sale for a great price, to top it off. They have a great selection of cabinet pulls here as well. read more

Wonderful service & Advice. Bianca is Super. I had to replace an older Kohler that had a very low profile for my mom, who is having health issues and needed something higher. A banjo shelf extending from my sink countertop limited the height of what could go in the space and after calling every big name plumbing company, none could recommend a replacement - they all wanted to take a saw to the beautiful counter so that they could sell me what they had in stock. Horrible experiences. Then I called around to see what I could find and called every major supply shop. No one I called had any representatives that actually knew their stock, so no one could help me find a fit. Until I found Bianca. She immediately knew the options, gave me the most fair price and had it delivered. I had other questions before and after install, and she got back to me immediately and with knowledgeable advice. Plus she and her colleagues gave me wonderful ideas for other accessibility options that are available for accessories for the bathroom. I cannot compliment Bianca and her colleagues enough. Really a wonderful resources and service. Also, a compliment for the man who delivered the toilet - he was careful, professional, courteous and helpful. SO impressed! It is almost unheard of to get the level of phone support I experienced during my recent plumbing problem; most places want to rush you off the phone if you need plumbing parts support. Most businesses of any kind in fact offer very little customer service at all anymore Saul really went above and beyond. When it turned out that the warranty parts he identified and had shipped to me did not fix the problem(at what turned out to be no cost so no profit to Ferguson) he helped me again to identify the replacement lav faucet that matched my 13 year old tub faucet, now with a different order number and name than when purchased. This place absolutely deserves your business. (and this employee should get a raise! Very pleased.) read more

Be very cautious when purchasing anything from this store. I bought a shower valve part and was charged $38.14. I later determined that I didn't need the part and returned it to Ferguson. They said they would have to charge me a 15% restocking fee, which is fine. However, they claimed I had paid $28.45 for the part and pointed to that figure on my receipt. I had no choice but to accept what they told me but, when I got home, I looked at my credit card statement and, sure enough, they had charged me $38.14. I would not trust them to purchase anything there again. read more

Stopped in here about a month ago looking for replacement cabinet pulls for my kitchen. I am very unimpressed with the level of service provided by Colleen who seems to be very uninterested in assisting customers. I had sent my daughter in while I got my cabinet sample. My daughter indicated that the sales person had a bad attitude. Colleen finally got out of her chair to assist and looked online for a product that I was interested in, commented that she would follow-up the following day with the company, which she never did. I know who I will stop in at when I convert my multi-unit bldg in Lincoln Park to my forever home, Studio 41. They have a great selection (much larger than Ferguson), and excellent customer service, from start to finish. Go into the Lincolnwood location, and ask to see Rahnae. Not only did she assist me, but went way out of her way to make sure that I was satisfied. I also paid far less than I would have at Ferguson. read more
