This EWC is in a nice location with nearby shops, eateries, and has ample parking. They're very customer service oriented and friendly when checking you in and out. She asked good questions to get an idea of what I wanted. I like that she was both gentle and moderate when removing hair. I have visited a handful of South-Eastern LA County and OC European Wax Centers since the Pandemic. I've had great service at many, including Long Beach - which used to be on 2nd Street, Los Al/Rossmoor and La Habra. La Habra is my go-to. I am not sure how many wax technicians I have seen there, but Leticia is a perfect technician for me. She's efficient, friendly - but not gushing over you friendly in a weird/superficial way. She's authentic and kind and gives me great care! Even the front desk folks are helpful, thorough and want to get you the best service. I bought the sugar scrubs they offer during Thanksgiving and Christmas. The scents were perrrrrrrfect! So yummy! read more

While I have enjoyed the majority of the waxers at this location, the front office staff is an absolute nightmare. The manager is fake and condescending. They have instituted a requirement that you show your ID upon check in. This seems ridiculous to me that they do not check the ID at check out. I had mentioned this when they rolled this out. Well, months later I was waiting to check out at the front desk and I was listening to the lady in front of me checking out. They keep a credit card attached to your account and they asked to confirm the last 4 digits of the card on file. I thought it was interesting that these matched mine. The guest confirmed this was her card. It most certainly was not. As it turns out, it was mine. When it was my turn to check out I inquired about the lady before me and yes, they had charged all of her services and tip to my card. I again expressed my concern that maybe if they checked a photo ID at check out this would not happen. I was dismissed quickly. While they did fix the error, I was made to feel like I was the problem. I would have stopped going to this location immediately if I did not have so many wax passes left. Other locations were not conveniently located and it was my understanding that this particular franchise owner has cornered the market in my area so the asinine ID check upon check in would still be an issue. I was greeted promptly when I walked in. Gave my name to check-in for my appointment. I was about 30 minutes early, so I was prepared to wait for a bit. But to my surprise, my waxer (sorry I don't know the technical term) was available. Yay! Score. She took me back after 5 minutes. So that was nice. I did a modified Brazilian service, and I'm definitely not getting into anymore detail about that lol waxing hurts yes, but the final result is so nice. My waxer was more on the quiet side. Which I am definitely okay with since they be looking at my private parts down there lol No need to make awkward conversation while your face and hands are down there. If you come here to get your eyebrow waxed, ask for a waxer that has experience doing eyebrows at another location. I won't name her because the one star review does not apply to her and this is my review on the eyebrow wax I got today from a different waxer. I am now missing a piece of my eyebrow a few days before my friends wedding. I made an appointment for my Brazilian and eyebrow wax thinking I could save time and money doing so. I did not, I had to spend $30 at ulta for an eyebrow pencil that I would never have needed had I gone there and asked for the eyebrow waxer with experience. What made this experience worse was after I had asked for someone else to get their opinion on my eyebrow, the waxer goes "they look fine to me." After I'm explaining to her and showing her a picture of me with full brows. Then the manager spoke to me, and made it seem like I was the problem when it was her waxer who didn't know how to wax eyebrows. I had a bad experience and no one cared except for the one waxer who can do brows. I figured management would have some empathy but what do they care apparently, it's not their eyebrows that are jacked up. Avoid getting your eyebrows waxed here unless you go to the one waxer who knows how to do them. Save yourself the headache because no one else will take your concerns/ complaint seriously. read more

This is my 1st time at this EWC location. I've gone to the Tustin & Long Beach location and had great experience there. Finally decided to give my local EWC a try since I knew i was going to the beach on LDW. Wanted to get cleaned up and my regular place didn't have a spot available on same day. I called in the morning and was able to get an appt within 30 mins. Decided to go while my kids were in school. Got to my apot a few minutes b4 my scheduled time. Was nicely greeted and within a couple minutes. Was called. My waxer was Veronica. Really nice sweet gal. She made mee feel really comfortable and was gentle w each pull of the wax. Everything went smoothly, no pain and after care was put on my waxed area. Not to mention fast and really hygienic here. Highly recommend EWC. Somewhere I'd definitely be back to get my Brazilian done at. Located in the plaza where Lucille's BBQ is at, next to Creamistry Ice cream & Panini Grill. i've never ever had such a horrible, traumatic experience with this location. i came in 6/20 to get my eyebrows done for my birthday. and i booked with any specialist who was available as it was right after work and ive always trusted EWC due to 'thinking and believing' they were expirenced and well trained. Jennifer was the specialist who took me back, and asked me what i was looking to do. i had told her a clean up, a little thinned out (my brows had not been waxed for over a year) and just an arch and shape (also my brows are naturally shaped and arched) so just a clean up. and this is what i got after. i felt like i was a joke, humiliated, and not taken care of at all. my mom tried calling to speak to the manager and the receptionist was refusing to give any information over the phone. i do not recommend, and really save your money. this was just an awful experience and traumatizing. read more

It's a hit or miss with the waxers. I've been going to this place for a couple years now and lately it feels like a drive thru wax experience. The girls before used to make small talk and make me feel comfortable that not my priority though. My priority is getting a tolerable wax that doesn't burn and all the hair out. Sadly it's not the same. The receptionist (sometimes)make you feel like you're interrupting them to get checked in. I've been coming to this location since 2014. If it wasn't for Justine the very first esthetician to ever do any sort of wax service on me, I would have not kept coming back. But as the years have passed, visit by visit has been making me not want to come back to this location. After 5-6 years Justine left so she told me to see Melody/Melanie. That only happened 2x because the third month I came, and she wasn't there anymore. I'm pretty sure they were doing layoffs that second visit I had with her because I saw girls walking in and out of the shop and there was a table outside with two people talking to each of them! Anyway, after that Justine suggested I try Cedestoni. She was AMAZING! I saw her for about two years then she left too, so I saw Ariana a few times then she left. Even when I moved to LA from OC I would still schedule my appts when I was in town, and still do. I am now seeing Samantha now as Ariana left over a year ago, but again I'm so discouraged because getting in to see Samantha is a struggle too! I'm not even sure if she's still working there. If anyone can point in the the right direction of where I can find any of the above mentioned estheticians, I would be in debt to you. So bottom line, go to this location for convenience but don't expect to have an esthetician stay for long periods of time. read more

My usual EWC location is currently shut down (due to the pandemic) and their Brea location was the next closest EWC to me. I read through the Brea EWC location's reviews and the esthetician, Caitlin's name was mentioned positively, again and again. I took a chance and booked a Brazilian with her. Brazilian's can be (are) super awkward, as your *goodies* are all out there. There is nothing modest about the procedure, but the results are worth every penny. Upon entering the private waxing room, I seriously felt like Michael J. Fox in the movie, "Teen Wolf". I was visibly nervous and a bit embarrassed. But afterwards--I felt like a beautiful, Telly Savalas. Caitlin immediately put me at ease. She was easy to talk to, welcoming, calm, and soothingly upbeat. She was also very thorough and let me know when to take a deep breath (as some parts of our lil flowers are more sensitive than others). Having your pubes ripped out (under any circumstance) is not a pleasant experience... ...unless you're into that sort of thing. But, Caitlin was quick and gentle. I want to follow up with EWC's response; I just received a call from Harmony I believe from their corporate regional office that oversees the Brea location. She is great at her job. Spoke to me about my experience, understood what happened, apologized, and thanked me for my feedback. She offered to schedule me again and make sure I wasn't charged but I did end up going to a different salon and had sugaring done. So I don't need the services anymore but I really appreciate her response and the way that EWC handled my complaint. I had submitted the same feedback on the corporate website that I posted here, and I believe that is where she got my information from, but wanted to update my review since they handled it so professionally. (This review is way over due) With serval first time appointments, cancelled or rescheduled because I was too chicken to come in. I finally mustered up the courage to come to my first appointment. I'll never forget my first time. I was so nervous and scared, I actually got sick to my stomach. The ladies at the counter were very understanding and polite I let them know I was nervous, how it was my first time, they assured me everything would be fine and once I got over the first appointment the rest would be a piece a cake. While I waited in their small waiting room for my appointment I had to excuse myself to the ladies room, hence me being nervous. Which allowed me to get a better view of the inside of the place it's very clean, very polished. The bathroom at this location has everything you need for good hygiene. (Incase some of you, ever wondered) I was happy with the services rendered, the customer service from everyone that worked there, how clean and polished the place was so I became a member for a year. Throughout the year I did have different beauticians that would be assigned to me (only in the beginning) and when I didn't like their technique I would let the ladies in the front know that I'd like somebody else next visit. Without any questions immediately they would assign me to someone else. I finally was assigned to a beautician who I felt very comfortable with and liked her technique. The one thing that I like the most about European Wax and not just the, Brea location but the company itself. They actually really do listen to your concerns they'll pair you with someone you feel comfortable with. I called several times and I spoke to representative's over the one 800 number and even they were very respectful polite and understanding. Definitely a great place. read more

For the last few months I've moved from the Irvine European Wax Center to the Brea location since Aimee has moved over here. I've read some horror stories so I'll just stick to someone I trust!! I feel like the receptionists here are a bit cold, and not as friendly. They're not rude or anything, just not exactly conversational. But I'm not really there for them, so nothing I can do about that I guess. The waxing process is amazing as always. After my visits with Aimee, I always leave feeling super amazing and confident about myself. The hard wax is as painless as it gets and very sanitary. They use a new stick to dip into the wax and they don't double dip. Once the wax hardens, they rip it off. The first one is always the worse, but the clean up strips are no where nearly as painful. I love that Aimee is a self proclaimed hair-nazi so she tweezes the hair away if there is like one annoying hair that was too story to be waxed. Aimee is the primary reason I'm coming here. Make appointments cause she's a busy lady :) Furthermore I love the products from EWC. I am currently using the serum that prevents ingrown hair as well as their body wash. I love that stuff!! My skin is super smooth and by using their products, I get a better wax as well. I will probably get the exfoliating product as well on my next visit!! Overall, I recommend Aimee!! If you get someone else and you didn't like it, please don't rage on my review. I haven't been to any of the other girls here so I really wouldn't know. read more
