My partner and I stopped in to make an appointment, and we were able to fill out paperwork and such then for an appointment the next week, which was super convenient. On our appointment day, we took advantage of the first wax free. When we arrived, we were greeted kindly and felt welcomed. My partner had all of his information correct in the system, but mine had to be redone, which was a little frustrating. Thankfully, his appointment was first, so at least it wasn't too terrible. My wax, which I had my eyebrows done, was great. I really appreciated the attention to detail on not just wax, but also making them less long and plucking the stragglers well. I also have a piercing, and the care around it was well-appreciated. The room and table was comfortable, and it didn't feel awkward at all. The climate control was perfect too, which i greatly appreciate since many businesses are so cold to me! I definitely think we will be back! We may even sign up for a package deal. read more

Wife had an appointment for 9:15a on a snowy Saturday. She received a text message at 8:50 am that said "Welcome to European Wax. We look forward to seeing you soon." At 9:05, as she pulled into the parking lot, she received another text saying EWC was closed due to the weather. She went in as there were two associates there. Neither of them apologized for the late noticed. The young ladies just said "That first message was just an auto one. We don't control that." Attention owner/manager- educate your staff on this situation. Have them offer an apology and an "inconvenience" discount on h the next visit. Oh, CANCEL that because she Won't Be Returning. Made an appointment for 10 am on a Sunday. I get an email at 9am "we're excited to meet you". I walk in and was informed that the waxer wasn't going to be in and the next available wasn't until 11:30. No offer to discount the wax (prices increased by the way). Just an apology and oh well. My husband and I have been going to this location for years. We have had four specialists in that time. All of them have left and or were fired. We found out two weeks ago that ONCE AGAIN, our specialist was no longer there. Poor management and lack of customer service is obvious. I have called twice and left messages for a manager or one of the owners to call me. I have not received any phone calls or any communication for that matter. My husband and I both want refunds on our wax passes. This location is well known for poor management and it shows. I have been patient and understanding. But now I am not. Now for the most part the ladies are polite and welcoming. This is the front line and if this is not in order, I really don't care what you have in the back of your line. I have two Ladies that I only go too , Shelby and Hailey. If I cannot get these ladies, i won't go. I made that mistake before and that woman was soooo DRY. I went for a free back wax and shoulder wax. don't think the shoulder wax was thorough at all, which I wouldn't have complained about if not for what I experienced afterward. I was encouraged to get my back waxed for self confidence in wearing backless clothes during the summer season... after the waxing, my back is entirely broken out with folliculitis to the point where I don't even feel comfortable wearing a swimsuit for the rest of the year. i am not prone to acne and have never seen my back like this in my life. More realistic prep and maybe hygienic waxing could've changed this. Not sure what went wrong, maybe its just how my skin reacted, but would never recommend this to anyone. Paid $70 for all this too, on top of the free back wax. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I came here for the first time few months ago. Had the worst experience I possibly could. Haven't been waxed in years, and a I had very rude wax specialist. Needless to say she wasn't the first person she treated like this. She kept stating how she hates her job and how it's disgusting to wax vaginas all day. Mind you she was waxing me! Talk about making someone feel disgusting. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back a second time got another waxer who saved my relationship with the place. I ended up getting 2 packages over 600$. And 200-300 in products. Needless to say, 2 weeks ago or so they called me stating my waxer wasn't available anymore and won't be employed there. They wanted to switch me to another waxer. I told them no, I wanted to cancel. Another day goes by and I'm still getting alerts that I have an appointment. With? I don't know? So I call the location 4 times no answer. Called a near by location they answer immediately asked again if I can cancel my packages. They stated firmly a manager will call you in 2 business days. It's been 2 weeks. No manager has called me. So again I call yesterday, no manager called again. So called again today, no answer at the same location. Called the second location and they answered right away. But yet again no manager is available. I got an email I was refund 61 dollars. Like seriously is this how people run business nowadays. Like I just can't fathom The disrespect that customers feel but if this is how they treat their customers I can only imagine what their employees are being treated. I have been going to European Wax Center for almost 3yrs and in different states and this one is the worst. I highly recommend Chesterfield or Ladue, if you call and cancel they won't remove you and say your a No-show, then put you on this nationwide Bad list. Forget calling corporate to complain, because they'll re-route you back to the store. When you've never had a No-show in 3yrs and all of a sudden in Cottelville your on this Bad list, it made me write this review, since their Corporate office will do nothing to rectify this situation. As for the Service, the turn around is high at this location, the waxes are never consistent and they've burnt me twice, so I went to Ladue and 100% better. read more

I've never been waxed in my life, so of course I decided to go for a Brazillian wax my first time out. Go big or go home. I just wanted to try this waxing business out to see if it was worth it, but never knew where to go. I was grocery shopping nearby and decided to wander on in to find out more. The counter person was definitely salesy, but nothing horrible. I set up my appointment and anxiously awaited my first wax. After reading some of the mixed reviews here, I didn't have high expectations. The girl who called to confirm my appointment sounded annoyed, so that lessened my expectations even more. However, when I arrived, the counter people were friendly and helpful. My wax was with Stevie, and she did a great job. I knew a bikini wax was up close and personal, but I will say this process (again, new to me) made going to the lady doctor feel like a modest experience. I'm also not going to lie...certain parts were pretty painful, but Stevie told me that is normal for your first time and it gets better the more you do it. She did suggest the ingrown hair serum, but was not pushy about it (nothing irritates me faster or loses my business faster than pushy sales people). I did buy the serum, and it seems like it has helped. I'm very pleased with my results and have made another appointment. I only wish I had the cash to get everything waxed.....so far my one appointment has been worth it. My waxer is going out on maternity leave soon, so I don't know whose hands my business will be in for future appointments, but I hope they also do as good a job. read more

Economy spas like these (European wax, Massage Envy, etc.) are the best thing to happen to womanhood since half priced Cosmos on ladies night! They're fast, clean and relatively inexpensive - giving you time and money to be the breathtaking Moon Goddess you were meant to be. However, unlike McDonalds where your obesity patty is pretty much guaranteed to be exactly the same no matter who is providing it, your experience at European Wax center will be as good or as bad as the technician you see. Knowing that, I always give a new location a couple of tries with different techs until I find the one that works for me. Luckily, the first time I visited, I found the one! Um...no, not a man. Shockingly, sexy, appropriately waxed gents aren't on the menu. But, I did find right wax tech for me (Jaime). She's quick, efficient and skilled at doing my eye, lip and (gulp!) bikini wax. In fact, she has been able to help me get my brows back in a good shape after a previous waxer (different company) butchered them causing me to have a certain je ne sais serial killer look. The process took a few months but she was consistent in listening to me and remembering the shape I wanted so I could get good results over time. Be warned, she is a bit of a product pusher. So, if you have a hard time not buying the latest Ronco "set it and forget it" rotisserie from TV, wear earmuffs. My appointments always run on time which is HUGE! I can't stand to wait when I have an unsuspecting world populace to conquer. The front desk staff is pleasant enough. I mean, what do you want from someone saying hi and checking you in? A love sonnet? The spa is clean, attractive and bright. In comparison, nail salons that do waxing have questionable sanitation including double dipping their wax and their "waxing areas" are pretty gross. (You KNOW people have died back there.) Is this a luxury experience? Absolutely not. But, because I'm half Sasquatch, getting waxed is a regular, maintenance item for me. I want to get it done and get out. I don't want to waste time sipping tea and putting on fluffy robes. Are there likely terrible techs lurking in the halls waiting to turn you into a feral bald cat? Probably. But, if you get a bad tech, let the non sonnet having ladies at the front desk know and ask for a refund. Then try another tech. Just don't clog up Jaime's book with your appointments because I need to get in. read more

I've been going here for almost a year now. I will say I was skeptical at first. This is mainly because I'm one of those men that has eyebrows for days and cant really go very long without grooming them. This basically means i've been waxing my eyebrows for years and I've tried them all. I've had just about every experience you can possibly imagine, good or bad. I've finally found the right place here, especially their waxer Stevie. I WILL NOT see any other waxer. She does exactly what I ask for every time, she never rushes me, she's a conversationalist, and highly professional. Ontop of the waxer, the front desk folks are great too. They seem very structured, professional, and KNOW what they are talking about. Especially one girl I see there a lot, Liv I think is her name. I was going every two to three weeks and rather than have me spend an exorbitant amount of money, Liv recommended the wax pass, which I will say, i did the math and I save a TON of money. You can literally go as many times as you want for a year.... Once every two weeks, once every week, 3 times a week..... Doesn't matter, it's unlimited waxing for a whole year. I've read some other reviews about them never seeming busy. This I think is due to the fact that they work almost exclusively with appointments. You can walk in whenever you want but appointments make it so easy. They also have an app where you can schedule your appts and set reminders, and even view your points (they give points for purchases, referrals, and for making appointments ahead of time. These points equate to money you can use in store. After a year of going I have a lot of points built up that I can use towards renewing my wax pass, awesome). Base line..... I highly recommend this place if you're looking for the one stop solution to waxing in a clean and professional environment from employees that know what they are doing. My sister and I went to this wax center for the first time expecting it to be a breeze. Welp it wasn't , out appointment was at 5:45 the lady with short hair and glasses (maybe) did not specify that the 9 min late policy was actually 8 minutes. We got there at 5:54 WHICH was exactly on the 9 minute mark and she told us to reschedule! She did not say anything about walking in exactly when the clock struck at 5:54. I came in today for a Brazilian wax, not my first but my first one here and I haven't had one in over a year. My waxer was Taylor and she did a great job. I didn't give her the easiest to work with (long winter) but she was very personable and my appointment started right on time and was much quicker than I expected. This place is a joke. They frequently call to reschedule you, but never answer the phone if you need to change your appointment, and then mark you as a no-show after you've left multiple voicemails. They recently called and asked me to change my appointment because the person I was scheduled with was last minute "unavailable", then when I got the appointment times confused and came in 8 minutes late, they told me I would have to reschedule. Absolutely not, I will gladly go to one of the other 1000's of places to get waxed in the STL area. Use them at your own risk! The waxers are great, the receptionist are socially inept, and have virtually no customer service skills. It's laughable really. read more

This is my second time going to European Wax Center Cottleville. The first time I was left with a lot of dryed up wax. But I decided to give a second go around. This time I'm left with not only a lot of wax and a lot of strands left. But I'm now bleeding and in a lot of pain! I have a trip to go to tomorrow and I'm now stuck with unbearable pain. I know the girl who did my wax knew exactly what she did but didn't mention to say a word to me about it. She just wiped away the blood and went on with it like nothing happened. Omg omg omg. I'm so stinkin happy I found them! I wanted a last-minute Brazilian because well... I sadly live my life last minute. They had every reason to be annoyed with me but every single human I spoke to was so incredibly sweet!! They got me in same-day after work (I only had an hour window from when I got off work and when they close so that was no easy task). That was fantastic enough. But THEN my actual experience it my best wax experience to date. When you walk in, you feel extremely welcomed and like you are important and beautiful. They go over everything you'll experience and are extremely transparent. They talk about the hard wax they use (uhm love) which is different. I've had hard wax before, but not theirs with the vitamins and aloe. Then... I met Sammie (I'm so sorry I know I just probably butchered the spelling but I was so darn sleepy and not wearing my glasses to read her name tag correctly). Oh my word. This girl is an absolute light. She explains everything that is happening and is so great and so knowledgeable. This is clearly a very compromising position to be in, so the fact that she made me comfortable is no easy feat. She did a fabulous job and I'm so excited to keep going back. I had a wonderful experience there Gretchen at the first desk checked me in. She was friendly and non pushy with her sales pitch of the wax pass. I declined to purchase and she simply moved on. My appointment was with Stevie. I was in and out in no time and we had a nice convo while she worked. This might not matter to most but talking helps keep my mind off of the pain. I was pleased with the results. Stevie talked to me about products but again not in a pushy way. I decided to buy one product. My only con is that at check my next appointment was booked. I like more time to plan out my life so I kinda felt on the spot to accept. However it's not that big of a deal because I can cancel online. read more

EWC was friendly and fast. The location looked super clean -- like I walked into a medi spa. My waxer spent extra time with me. My lip hair is difficult to reach. It's thin, so fair it's hard to see and seems to deflect wax - wish it deflected makeup the way it avoids wax. But my waxer spent extra time with me helping me make sure that the hairs that clump the tinted moisturizer around my lips were gone. She also did not spend time pushing products I don't need. I, despite waxing, am a make up minimalist. Tinted moisturizer, mascara sometimes and lip treatment of some sort. She asked me my routine. And recommended based on MY needs - not whatever product someone told her to push. She recommended a facial exfoliatent and told me to go home with samples, asked me to tell her what I thought at my next appointment and then made sure I went home with the right stuff. I actually like it. I don't need or like to wax regularly. But I went ahead and booked a follow up...why? Because she and the other staff did not assume they knew what I needed. They took the time to learn what was important to me. If the next appointment goes as well I'll be a regular. Slight feedback, if they offered reasonably priced facials or brow and lash tinted I'd be hooked. Nice work EWC team read more

I'm sad to give this place 2 stars because I've been to this particular location 3-4 times and never had a bad experience however today I went in for a Brazilian and I was a little nervous because my precious waxer, Stevie, no longer works there. My appointment was with Lindsey and aside from the fact that I laid on the table in silence, she didn't allow the wax to cool off before applying it to my skin and I later found out that part of the skin had been ripped off which as you can imagine is extremely uncomfortable. This is bad but as a professional she should have owned up to the mistake she made instead of sending me home to discover it for myself. I still have no bad feelings about the facility but I will definitely be scheduling with a different waxer in the future. read more

I purchased a wax pass at the location on olive before this location opened. Having been to Olive the olive location plenty of times before, I was nervous to go to a different location and get a different consultant, however this location is closer to me! My first experience at this location was not the best! My waxer was not very friendly! She barely spoke to me and when she did it was as if she was annoyed I even asked her a question! After looking at my brows I had done, I noticed that there was still some purple wax in my brow! The ladies at the desk were chatting up a storm with one another rather than helping customers! I felt like this location did not have the best employees. Maybe I just had a bad experience though! I would highly recommend the location on Olive over this location! Needless to say I will be going back to the Olive location and not returning to the Mid Rivers location. read more

I've been to several European Wax places around St Louis area. This is closer to my house but thank God Ladue is close to my work so I go there. I brought my daughter in for eyebrows who was home from school visiting. She called for an appointment and it was the rudest customer service we have ever had any place ever! The girl was short, if you could even hear what she was saying. Never ever smiled. Voice was one low tone. She was so rude to my daughter and my daughter is a server. So what she makes in a night depends on how she treats her customers and she was trying to be so nice to her because that's just who she is. I can not believe they let this girl work there. There was another African American girl working and she was so sweet and so nice when someone called and wishing them a gorgeous day just like all the locations do! It was a painful 15 minutes and hope we never have to go back to this location! read more

I purchased a wax pass, so I've been here several times. The first 2-3 times I thought I'd found a great waxer, even though she was a big-time product pusher. I can handle that, but on the 3rd visit, she used wax that was so hot, I had blisters the next day. The next day I came into the store and asked the front desk what they would recommend I use on my blisters, and the receptionist just stared at me stupidly, as if I'd asked her in another language. Right then, a waxer that I didn't know wandered up front and so I asked her what she recommended, and of course she recommended one of their products to use on my burn. She didn't apologize that I had gotten burned there. There is just a complete and utter lack of professionalism here IMO, and I think it has a lot to do with the waxers being very young and probably just out of beauty school. In subsequent visits, I've used different waxers, and one of them used a racial slur in front of me (!), and the two other ones didn't bother to hold the skin taut (I think another reviewer mentioned this as well). Who doesn't know that the skin needs to be held taut when waxing?! My last couple of appointments have been in the evening, and the waxers are probably in a hurry to get out of there, but that's no excuse to just rush through a bikin wax.
