I have been a frequent customer of European Wax Center for quite some time. I moved back to the area and was in search of a new center and found this one close by. I was a little nervous because the reviews were all over the place and you can clearly tell from the reservation system that their are some employees that are probably better than others. I was super pleased with Melissa! She was thorough and gave me in and out quickly in about 15 minutes. The front desk receptionist was very to the point. Welcome, take a seat, schedule your next appointment. Not too much enthusiasm, but also appreciated she wasn't trying to shove a package at me. This was my first time going to this location in Monroe, NY and I was extremely disappointed with my Brazilian wax results. I gave this place a 1 star since the lady (Dominique) was nice but not thorough at all with the waxing, the place was clean, And Upon arriving to this location I was promptly greeted by the front desk person and within 2 minutes I was taken to the back for my Brazilian wax but everything after that went downhill. First off the lady never left the room so I could get undressed before starting my Brazilian wax and she also didn't exit the room when it was time for me to get dressed again after she finished with my wax which I thought was strange. Secondly, when my Brazilian wax was finished I wasn't given a mirror to see the job that was done. There is a long mirror on the wall in the room but it's hard to see and it was uncomfortable also checking my area while the lady was in the room with me. Upon my arrival back home I went straight to my master bathroom so I could see my results and I was sooo upset to see all the hair that was left on my inner/outer lip area, the top area of my private area and my inner butt area as well. My butt area felt as if it weren't waxed at all. After seeing all this I had no choice but to shave my butt area with a razor since I can't reach the area or pluck the hair there. The front area I had to pluck for about 1 1/2 hours that day and the next day as well. I'm attaching a picture of my razor showing all the hair that came off my inner butt area after I had to shave it and I'm also including pictures of all the hair that I plucked from the front area as well. I had scheduled my next appointment when I was there but I did cancel it when they sent me a text message for me to confirm my next appointment and I also included a message about my experience there. After a little while I did receive a text message stating that they will forward my experience with the manager who never called me, or texted me. I had an appointment and my time slot wasn't honored. So I wasted and hour and a half of my day (45 minute drive) to just be told sorry they doubled booked. The customer service is a disgrace. There could have been several ways to fix the situation, but nothing but, "come back tomorrow". I'm so sad that I wasted the little time I have driving to this place. It seems like they just wanted to make sure they got out on time.... 5 minutes was too much to accommodate their mistake. read more

Was nervous to try Lydia because I didn't see any reviews for her on here but she was amazzzzzing ! Really thorough, gives breathing cues to help with the pain and is friendly and talkative through the virtually quick process so much so that you forget you're getting hair ripped off of you LOL. Recently moved to the area and decided to give European Wax Center a try, as my go to place Uni K is in Brooklyn. Not sure if the staff needs more training in waxing clients with course hair, however upon arriving home after my appointments (both times) I noticed I had patches of hair remaining. Not sure if they allowed the wax to fully harden but there were a lot of broken hairs left behind instead of being pulled from the follicle as they should be which is equivalent to trimming the hair. I've been getting Brazilian waxes for at least 6 years and have never experienced this quality of service. Won't be returning. read more

(Full removal) She was professional and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all, and she was quick and straight to the point (which everyone can appreciate with a Brazilian!!) I had the most horrible experience at EWC today in Monroe. Ive been going to this location for many years and for the past few years Ive had the same person, Unfortunately she left and when I called for the appointment I specifically requested a seasoned person. i was assured the person they booked me with was one of their most seasoned. When I arrived and called in by Jenny, she told me she had only been there for 2 weeks but had previous experience. From there on my Brazilian was horrible! She applied the wax and let it dry too long where it was very, very painful when she tried to remove it. She had to get help from another worker. Now Im laying there crying and in pain. The worker applied more wax which burned me and went ahead to say that was impossible and asked if I had my period! She also said Jenny was in training. This entire experience was soo humiliating. She asked if I wanted her to finish the job and of course I said NO.. I walked out in tears and told the "manager" I was not paying. He went ahead to tell me that for this 1 time he would not charge me. This place has had such a bad turn around with their staff. Stay away from this location. read more

They are quick and to the point. My two appointments have not exceeded ten minutes with a technician. I am glad that they have the package special currently running. I get what I came for, mostly. The technicians are friendly but not super thorough. I will continue to go this year and see about renewing for next year. read more

I love these guys!!! they make you feel comfortable, and they are professional and courteous. They are slightly expensive but they have that "special touch". Like, they'll trim your eyebrows down with a scissors after waxing it. This and other little things keeps me coming back for more! keep it up guys!! I have been coming to this EWC since it opened and I am always very pleased. I always get compliments on my eyebrows and recommend them to my girl, Kathleen. The receptionists Sam, Jordan, and Alyssa, and the Manager Robin are always so nice and accommodating whenever I have to change my appt. It is a clean establishment with such friendly employees! I absolutely love Kathleen she does an amazing job on my eyebrows but when she's all booked up I go to Krysler or Nicole who are great as well. read more

First time ever visiting here and was a bit apprehensive. I didn't need to be though BECAUSE: Front desk crew was pleasant and quickly checked me in. I was done and out in 15 minutes FIFTEEN MINUTE RELATIVELY PAINLESS BRAZILIANS EXIST YA'LL (Lydia is the best!). Given product advice for upkeep and it's there you you don't have to schlep to Ulta or some other place. You get discounts as a first timer and points as a member. Um, sign me up! The price was great especially given the type of service. Don't expect a frou-frou spa experience. You're in and out, it's respectful and worth the money. I understand the company late policy (it's hard not to when the employees don't shut up about it) But there had been a recent experience my niece had that was just in humane! She called me crying saying she was 10 minutes late due to that traffic on 32. One of the waxers who work there, Lydia, was very aggressive, rude, and downright NASTY towards her when explaining the late policy. My niece is 16! The wax specialist should simply mind their OWN and work their WAGE! Do their own jobs being the waxer and allow the front desk to explain such things as the policy. I have many friends who have purchased the wax pass.. This company is all about making selfish money and acting fake towards us customers while doing so. I went for my first time today and it was amazing! The two receptionists in the front were so nice and welcoming. Nadia was the specialist. She did my lip, brows and underarms. It was the first time I'd ever waxed anything other than my lip and brows and I was pretty hesitant but she was so gentle and did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable. Beware of this place!! I have been getting waxed ( Brazilian, underarm, legs, butt) for over a year now from European wax center mainly in Forest Hills, NY and never had one complaint. I even bought their wax pass and all their products because I love EWC so much. However I moved back to Goshen, NY and the closest EWC is Monroe. I went and the receptionist are not super friendly and are unprofessional. I decided to get waxed (underarm and Brazilian) before I went on vacation and the woman burned my underarms and Brazilian area. I still am scarred under my arm from the wax. I was furious. The manager took almost a week to respond to my messages. I will never go back! It is terrible location.... read more

The ladies are not consistent. Don't just go there randomly like I did and pay 20 dollars for an eye brow waxing because it might not be worth it. First time I went there (and, the first wax is free!) the lady did an excellent job on my eyebrows. I usually tweeze my own eyebrows(because most people suck), but recently I went back to get them waxed again because I needed help fixing them up a bit. The girl barely did anything.. didn't trim, tweezed literally 2 hairs. When I went home I had to tweeze them myself (it was that noticeable).Waste of $20. If I'm going to pay double the normal price to get my eyebrows done.. put a little effort into it! I guess if you get someone good there, remember their name. read more

I've been meaning to try this place out with an underarm wax and I had to cancel a couple of times. So I went today for some facial waxing and since they have the bonus I asked them to touch up my eyebrows. I don't like anyone touching my eyebrows. They always take too much off. But Jaimi was super chill and left my natural brow in place. I thought the wax they used was less crazy than the strips I'm used to. And I wasn't red on my face at all, thank goodness! This is a very clean facility, the wax technicians are professional and I have had many great experiences. Unfortunately the discounts described by were misleading. When asking for clarification the receptionist was rude. A discount is supposed to be applied when you bring a friend. There was different messages what the discount is. Also, I have tried to apply this discount on two different occasions and there are excuses why it has not been applied to my purchase. I feel that I was provided with deceiving information by receptionists and my concerns as a customer were not recognized. read more

Overall, the place is pretty professional. They're very strict about being on time. I like that they use the blue hard wax -- it's better for your skin than the strips. That's the main reason I'm going back. The place and clean and everyone is friendly enough. Although I don't think the receptionist liked it when I had to push back my appointment... I went for the second time today and I was very satisfied with the results! The wax that is used is very gentile on your skin and doesn't irritate your skin or burn you (I have pretty sensitive skin). I downloaded their app beforehand so it is very easy to make an appointment and you can see who is available and at what time. Their prices are very fair, I've seen higher prices at nail salons or places that don't even specialize in waxing. My appointment today was with Nadine who was excellent - she took time and effort to make sure that she got all the hair in the areas she was waxing. After going here I would never go anywhere else to get anything waxed and would highly recommend them. read more

The only reason I gave this place another chance because not a lot of places do Brazilians in this area. It was very easy getting an appointment considering it was the weekend before July 4th. It was my first time in a year getting a Brazilian and I have coarse hair so I knew it was going to take time for the finished product. I asked for a landing strip. When I got home and looked I still had stragglers that she missed over, and I still had wax on me that I had to pull off!! Talk about sloppy, and unprofessional! On top of that the Brazilian was uneven! My biggest pet peeve is I shouldn't have hair where I'm getting waxed! I don't care how long it takes, I'm paying for a service I should be satisfied and completely clean of hair. I'm officially never coming back. So mad that I gave this place another chance. After an incident in July where the person doing the wax just couldn't seem to peel the wax off properly (quite painful) and I went home only to find hair, I decided to go back and try someone else. I went to Kathleen in August and decided to stick with her. I had to cancel my appointment in September but booked an appointment for today at 6:30. I get there around 5:55 and was told I would have to wait until 6:30 as she was booked. I sat there and waited with no complaints. From about 6:15 to 6:23 Kathleen walked back and forth talking about a trip she wanted to take to Costa Rica. She then sat down and searched on her phone on a site called "trip pirate". At 6:23 a woman walks in and Kathleen takes her. At this point I realize there is no way I would be getting in at 6:30. At 6:34 I got up and stood outside. At 6:38 I was at my car when I got a call from Robin. I told her I wouldn't be coming back and I was done with them. I will travel 2 hours to Brooklyn to UniK where I feel like I'm treated with some respect. If that person was almost ten minutes late for her wax appointment she should've had to wait instead of me being inconvenienced when I was actually on time for my appointment. Save your money! Not everyone's dollar seems to be welcomed here. read more

This was my first time getting a Brazilian wax and I was extremely nervous but the staff was great. I called first and spoke to Robin. She was very nice and professional. I scheduled my appointment for that evening and was greeted kindly by the associate behind the desk. At that point I was introduced to Jaime, the woman who would be doing my wax. She was kind, courteous , professional , pretty fast and she explained everything she was going to do before she did it. Jaime's waxing technique and personality helped minimize my nervousness & slight discomfort. The samples they give you to maintain your wax are great and the outcome is amazing . I'm so happy to have found this place. Since I moved I've been looking for a good place, nice, clean and with a reasonable price for my waxing and I think I've found it. I found them online and checking out their website I saw that their waxing process if painless, I was more than skeptical about this, I've been getting waxed for years and it hurts, period, there is no way around it. But they use a different kind of wax, way thicker and cooler than I've ever seen, and drum roll.....it really doesn't hurt! Ok, I mean it is not that I didn't feel it at all, but I kept bracing myself for that painful pull and it never came. I'm overall very happy with the service, I did have to "clean it up" myself when I got home to get the few hairs that didn't come out with the wax; in other places the person waxing me will then check with a tweezer and get the stubborn ones that didn't come off with the wax but the girl at EWC didn't do that, I don't know if it was just her, or if that is not something they do at EWC. That is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. read more
