My tech (Kinsley) was super sweet and social. I ended up getting another service since they were doing a promo for half-off an additional service. I've had consistently frustrating experiences with the European Wax Center in Norman. Their customer service feels extremely rigid and unaccommodating. They do not take walk-ins, and their late policy is strict to the point of being unreasonable. I arrived at the 9-minute mark and was turned away, despite being told that 9 minutes is the cutoff. Instead of attempting to work with me or see if there was any flexibility, I was offered an appointment three hours later -- which obviously doesn't work for most people with busy schedules. There seems to be little effort to accommodate clients who are trying to make appointments work within real-life constraints. A bit of grace or customer-centered problem-solving would go a long way. What's frustrating is that the Moore location does not operate this way and has never made things this difficult. The difference in service between locations is noticeable. Unfortunately, based on multiple experiences, I won't be returning to the Norman location. read more

I originally wasn't going to leave a review but after speaking to the assistant manager today I believe it's warranted. I went in for a brazillian (I've gotten many before and have used the norman location for a year). The usual waxer I saw had left so I was seeing a new one. Immediately I suspected she was new. Which would have been fine, I have gotten enough waxes that I wasn't scared of a heavier hand. I am so traumatized I cannot even explain what happened in that room. It was the worst pain I have ever felt and ended with a trip to urgent care. I needed SEVEN stitches. Beyond that, the urgent care in norman does not give pain medication (the doctor and nurses there are incredible but that is their policy). The doctor numbed the area with giant needle after needle of lidocaine injected right into that gash. They've refunded the wax pass I hadn't used but have said there is nothing they can do for the remaining waxes on the current pass I am on, saying that since I have already used 9 on that pass the 3 left have no monetary value and I have essentially just paid full price for the 9 I used. That just does not seem fair to me, since the only reason I purchased the pass in the first place was because of the lower cost per wax and had every intention of using all of them. The assistant manager had the audacity to tell me that if "in ten years you decide you want to give it another try, they'll be there". Seven stitches, in the worst place you can imagine and she thinks I'd ever even consider going back. I will be permanently scarred from this, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I will never return. To anyone who gets waxed, please don't ever just believe and assume that because they are a waxing center means their waxers are trained, capable, and experienced enough to perform on their own. I urge everyone reading this to make the extra drive to another location and heavily research your waxer or just get laser. I promise the benefits are not worth the permanent damage that has been done to me. read more

Been using them for over 5 years. Service started out great both waxer and front desk. The last year they have been terrible about cancelling appointments at the last minute and changing their programs and not honoring what you had and ready earned. Today was the last straw. I had an appointment set for over 1 1/2 months. Received a text my waxer would not be in and I could reschedule, today was the last day of my wax pass. Then I received 2 confirmations that I had my appointment, I assumed they moved me to someone else. Then as I was heading to the appointment got another text to reschedule since waxer wasn't there. So I called to see what was going on. I was told the confirmation come out because I did in fact have an appointment for today just nobody to do the wax service. What in heck, so I said so I have No appointment, then why the 2 confirmations. Her answer was because you have an appointment just nobody to do the wax. So NO appointment unless they are letting me do it myself. BYE won't use you again too many silly ongoing issues. I recommend you don't use them. read more

Appointment are made to save time, we you don't stick to it, there is no point in scheduling one. Received call again within an hour with apologies to reschedule the appointment with a complimentary service. Went back the following day, and services were provided right on time. Update: Darla, the manager, personally called me and explained how they had recently hired several new employees for the summer and I must have had someone who was new. She was very kind and understanding. She offered to have me come back and complete my service with someone more experienced. The experience was great! The wax was very well done and I will continue to go back! I went in for my first wax living here in Norman. I use to go to a place near my previous residence. I planned to get my under arms and bikini full done. She started with my underarms and did not have the success she nor I wanted. More than half the hair is still there. I have very dark and coarse hair-- which has never been a problem until now. I also grow hair extremely fast, unlike most people. One-two weeks of hair growth for me is equivalent to a month to others. She explained to me the reason for my underarm hair not coming off is because I have shaved before in my life and the hair growth goes different directions depending on the section. Who hasn't shaved their underarms before is my question? I am aware of this, that's why you do not do the entire thing at once. You go in sections-- I've always assumed this as being a common practice, but I guess not. There was/is also a lot of discomfort and bleeding from her not taking her time and pulling it very hard all at once. I have a very high pain tolerance there so it felt fine, but when I looked down and as the day went on the discomfort grew. When she started on my bikini she pulled two strips. One was great and the other wasn't at all. The wax wasn't completely cool and you could tell she was rushing. She said if we continued, then it would look much like my underarms. After already feeling pain and seeing the hair under my arms, I opted not to pay for bad results. She did my bikini line which resulted the same bleeding as my underarms. She suggested I come back in a week to try again. Overall, the girl was very nice. She just wasn't as skilled or precise as I had expected from a waxing center and because of it, I am dealing with much discomfort without the results I ex I made the appointment, but have not decided on going back. I most definitely will not have them do my underarms again. read more

Love this place, have been going for a couple years! I go to Jasmine and she is amazing! I've had some bad experiences with other waxers when I went to other EWC locations in the past.. but Jasmine never disappoints. She takes the time to make sure all the hairs are out and will pluck the rest if the wax doesn't get them all. And the front desk employees are kind and helpful. I went here for a wax and the entire experience was awkward, even for a wax. The aesthetician didn't even step out of the room while I undressed, which was off putting from the start. She told me about products the entire time she rushed through my Brazilian and tried to encourage me to buy several items I had already stated I wasn't interested in. I was so ready to go that I dressed quickly (she didn't step out for me to dress, either) and got out of there as quickly as I could. When I went to the bathroom a little while later I was mortified when I went to wipe myself after peeing and the paper got stuck on wax. I decided to take a shower and that's when I realized she'd left wax not only on my labia, but in my butt crack. It was like I'd be sealed shut! Having no experience in removing the wax myself, and not being able to -see- the wax, made the removal extra awkward and painful. I had an appointment at the Norman location at 4:00 and arrived between 4:00 and 4:04. I was told when I signed in that they have a very strict policy that if you are more than 9 minutes late they will have to reschedule you, or you may not get to get all of your services done. I agreed to the policy and had a seat. I watched two different ladies who arrived after me go back to be seen. Finally, at 4:35! I asked the sweet receptionist, who was very kind, if she knew how much longer it was going to be. She proceeded to tell me that my esthetician was still with a previous client so she had no idea when she would be ready for me. She offered to reschedule me for another day, but I was leaving town and that was the only time I could do it. I can't wait ten more days to get all of my services done (that's how long I'll be gone). What was worse was that I was getting two big services and another small one, it's not like I wasn't going to spend well over $100.00. So frustrating!! read more

I had a great experience at the European Wax Center. The girl at the front desk (she had purple hair but unfortunately I didnt catch her name) was very sweet and knowledgable about the company's services. She informed me that because I was a new customer, my first Brazilian was half off! That made me happy. Lyssa Jane did the waxing and it was by far THE LEAST painful waxing Ive ever had. I rwally appreciated this because I have an extremely poor pain tolerance when it comes to waxing. She made small talk the whole time and made me comfortable throughout the duration of our session. Oh. My. God. My face feels amazing. -- So, I've been going to nail salons to get my face waxed for a long time. I haven't been in months so my face has been screaming for some TLC. I remembered every time in the past I would go to a nail salon to get my face waxed, how horrible my skin felt after; red, dry, I would break out & days later my makeup still looked splotchy. I contacted European Wax Center today & they gave me the "T". The wax nail salons use is cheap & too hot for your face, just like I expected them to say. The price for a full face wax here was a little pricey for my budget but I gave it a go anyways & I'm officially addicted. (Also they give a discount for first time customers.) They were polite from start to finish & educated me on waxing. My waxer was Jordan & she was so sweet. Of course my face was a little red after, but that's expected & normal. It was a FULL facial wax including my nose which I had never had done before (& it doesn't hurt as hard as you would think.) She even filled-in my brows after. I walked out with some of their products as well. I just got done trying the Gel Exfoliator I bought today & as I rubbed it into my skin I could literally feel my dead skin falling off on my fingers. I've never experience something so amazing. We're not getting younger ladies. I will be a returning customer here & recommend it to everyone! read more

Good wax, but it was quite short and the esthetician mentioned how each of their waxing services are done using methods to insure that they only take 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes, for a full Brazilian. Other waxes I've had, the esthetician plucked and cleaned up any kind of remnants afterward. Not so here. That was disappointing. I will say that their products seem to be superior and whatever method they use to make the wax take less time does indeed do that, but the overall effect is not as great as waxes I've had other places. The esthetician I was assigned was great and very personable. I'm just not sure I'll be back. read more

I've gone here monthly for Brazilians with Hope. I've recommended about 4 people thus far to have her provide them services and they've all kept up with it. Waxing in general is a pretty price but totally worth it. It's $50 every time and I leave 15-20% tip. If you ever want to try a Brazilian or bikini go for it. read more

I'm not sure why everyone gave such rave reviews of them. The front staff was awesome (hence not a one star) but the compliment ends there. It took 20 mins for my Brazilian (door to door)...a proper waxing should never be that short. Thighs and stomach are an upcharge (WHAT!?!). I asked for a landing strip, it's so crooked I'm going to have to wax that off myself as well as my thighs and lower belly. Also, she couldn't get a patch of shorter hairs. Every other waxing I've ever had, the esthetician plucked them, she told me I should leave it till next time or I could pluck them myself. Huh? I thought I was paying for a service but okay...I now get to repair the service myself. Thankfully I was a first time customer so was only charged $25 (gave a $10 tip on top). I will not be returning and will gladly pay someone else for a proper waxing. read more

I went in to the European Wax Center for the first time today for a Brazilian. I have had Brazilians before, but ouch! This one really hurt. The girl who did it was really sweet, but She pulled so hard, it was so painful. There were several hairs left, and I had to ask her to pluck them. I also have had small bits of wax left that I've had to clean off myself. It just didn't seem very thorough.
