I tried to go back there with my friend because it was super cold in the front, and I didn't see a problem with it. I was told, in a very rude tone "only one person... corporate policy." After reading all the positive reviews, I was really disappointed that my visit wasn't as pleasant. It was my first time getting a Brazilian and I didn't know what to expect. The receptionist was very unenthusiastic. It was freezing in the lobby. The esthetician was Dominique. She came out and wasn't very chatty, basically just looked at me, said a few things and walked off!!? Hello? Fast forward: she didn't really give a warning and just laid the wax down. I got a little worried and hesitant and she started rolling her eyes and sighing at me. She pretty much said Im going to be late for my other clients I don't have time, Im not going to have time to clean you up. I thought that was very unprofessional. After that she didn't give warning to breathe before she pulled, and I didn't feel that she was holding the skin taut. She asked if I wanted her to clean the rest. Okay, isn't that what you're supposed to do? (There was still hair left afterwards) Long story short, don't come here for your first time, and if you do, do not pick Dominique. Maybe its not her fault and this business doesn't tend to new clients well. They're very in and out and don't make time for people who are new and making an already awkward experience even more uncomfortable. Or maybe this woman is probably in training. I have given this location more than one week to respond back to me personally after I reached out to the company. I now write this in hopes that they reflect and change some policies and warn others of potential problems they may face here. I had never been waxed before. When I decided to get waxed, I looked up reviews and saw that this company was local and highly rated. I decided to stop by the location and ask some questions before I decided to get the procedures I was interested in done. The first individual I spoke with had a badge that simply read "Trainee" and really couldn't answer my questions but stated a waxer could and that she could even get me in in an hour and offered me some very good deals for "first timers". I stated several times that I had never before been waxed and although I understood the technical process of the waxing itself by what anyone would know on a rudimentary level, having never been through it myself had some anxieties. I was assured the waxer was a professional and would guide me through the process. Feeling somewhat awkward with the hair growth I had grown out in order to be waxed and trusting the reputation I believed they had, I felt the need to go through with it. When the time came, I was met with Fabiola, wearing a full on paper face mask obscuring her face from just below her eyes to over her chin. I was led into a room and told to undress waist down. In front of her. I do understand that I was about to have a full Brazilian wax, but even in a Doctor's office I am given some level of privacy and integrity. I personally felt very uncomfortable undressing in front of someone staring at me. I was not asked to change into a robe or smock, I was not offered some sort of covering. I believe as a professional that she felt she was, she should have taken the time to address my concerns and guide me through the process. She absolutely did not and I also feel a Brazilian should not be offered or at the very least a smaller wax job should be performed before someone that tells you several times that they have never been waxed before receiving a Brazilian. I understood that hot wax is placed on your body over the hair and that it is forcibly removed, I wasn't given any indication what or when to expect and I had a very painful experience. I was very upset but it was happening and I wanted it over with. Fabiola had to see this was bothering me as she stated that my underarms wouldn't be as painful. When it came time for my underarms, I was told to now remove my top, now wearing just a bra and was now naked and fully exposed. I was now even more uncomfortable and wanted to just power through and get this all over with. I didn't know if this was how it was supposed to be or not and just complied. After my underarms were waxed, Fabiola once again watched as I dressed and spoke to me about buying a retail product item. I was also promptly told how lucky I was to have received her services and that she stays very booked and I would have to book that very day in order to get waxed by her again. She recommended I purchase 6 Brazilian waxings and that I would get 3 for free. Aftercare was not once discussed with me aside from the product she wanted me to purchase. She led me back out to the front to pay for my services. While I did state that I understood the reason for the retail product, I also wanted to know if it was cruelty-free and eco-friendly. She stated it was, so I asked for the literature or some indication that it was and that she just knew.I also asked for an ingredient list and she said I could talk to the receptionist "Trainee" about that and left. The receptionist tried to again sell me on the line but when I asked the same I was told "she just didn't know". I asked if they had any literature, specifically an ingredient panel for the product they wanted me to purchase and I was told I could "Google it". I was offered a $450 brazilian package I rejected. Horrible service. Manager is horrible. When trying to resolve an issue she thought it appropriate to just say she would cancel my wax pass. I have had a wax pass since 2012. They burned my lip at this location in 2013 and have not gone back since. Decided to try them since it was close to work one more time. It is an hour from my home. Horrible job done and I need it redone. Be sure to check their work before you leave which means you need to check EVERYTHING. The mirror in the room is there for a reason. I've been debating between two or three stars for awhile and I really don't want to be a "bad review" in a sea of good ones, but I have to be honest. My sister were out shopping in Pasadena and needed two eyebrow waxes. I called around and found this place and we were thrilled to hear that our first one was free! Score! As long as we showed our drivers licenses we got two free eyebrow waxes. I don't remember the name of the woman who did my eyebrows but she was super nice. She told me I had a nice natural shape and it was great to be complimented like that. What I wasn't happy with was the overall outcome and shape of my brow. I told her that I wanted a square end not a round end and she did the complete opposite. After "finishing", she showed me in the mirror and I wasn't pleased with the stray hairs I saw. She didn't even touch the space between my eyebrows. I don't feel like she did a great job. After telling her that I wanted the stray hairs removed, she removed SOME of them but not all. I gave up and left after that. I am glad that I didn't pay for this wax, as I would have been pretty peeved. Today I had my first ever wax. My water was Lucy and she was pretty great. I was a little early to my appointment and had only sat down for 2 minutes before Lucy took me to my room. The room looked like it was being cleaned because a bag of trash was sitting next to the trash can, but that did not impact the cleanliness of the rest of the room or the service itself. Lucy was let me know what was going to happen and which parts would hurt more than others. She was quick and efficient and told me I did great for my first time. Let me start off by saying that I'm not the type to get irritated easily. It takes a lot for me to speak up about a bad experience, because of the fact that I am a server and deal with the public all day. This was my first time at European wax center. I chose to give them a shot because I have a co worker and close friend who used to work at a different EWC location. Based on her personality and what she would tell me about the company, I assumed that all their technicians would be qualified and trained to go above and beyond for clientele. Especially since this involves an individual's, skin, health, appearance, etc. I made a last minute reservation to get my full face waxed, which was my first mistake. I should've been picky from the beginning. Especially since my job depends partially on my looks. I was early to the appointment and the receptionist was very polite and informative, after learning it was my first time. She went over everything thoroughly with me. I did ask her whether my eyebrows were included in the full face wax and she replied that it would be my entire face, so yes, eyebrows were included. Ok cool, kill two birds with one stone. My waxer, who I will not name, came to get me from the front and showed me into our room. She asked if there was any particular area that I did not want waxed, and I told her no that I wanted everything waxed because I'm up close and personal with customers all day but that I only wanted my eyebrows cleaned up. (I am very picky about my eyebrow shape and wanted to see how things went before I decided whether I would let someone from EWC reshape them.) She carried on conversation with me and was very sweet, but her personality was boring, but because she was sweet is one of the reasons I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. My hair was not pulled back or brushed away from my face before or during my waxing. My nose was not waxed, which I thought would be included since the receptionist said that everything would be waxed. But it was my first time so I was unsure and just assumed I misunderstood. She did give me a mirror to look at myself, but I was so worried about my eyebrows, I didn't check anything else at the moment, simply because who can fuck up waxing a cheek or forehead? My waxer did ask if I wanted some type of soother put on my face after, to help with the redness. I told her yes but was unsure as to why she asked. I assumed that would be a no brainer, especially since it was only about 6 o clock and I could still have things to do. I did have to ask the waxer myself if there was any thing I needed to refrain from wearing/doing since I do have a fresh layer of skin exposed on my face. She simply said that I would be okay to wear make up tomorrow and for me to not sweat because my poors are open.....okay, thanks for the tip. After getting my car, I can see I still have foundation all over my nose and under my eyes(keep in mind, I have a new layer of skin on my face so my make up is darker than my skin) I looked like a damn raccoon, and was left to walk out of the establishment like that. After pulling down my visor, I can see that I have uneven spots that were not waxed around my forehead. my side burns, cheeks, and lip all still have visible hair on them. So now after spending $45( for some reason I was only charged 36 dollars instead of the 50 that it normally is but I think it was because it was my first time and of course I still tipped.) I get to spend the next 30/45 minutes plucking the remaining hairs in hopes that it won't make my make up splotchy at work tomorrow because then I can be sent home and now allowed to work. So my overall opinion. This place could be great but I'll never know because I'm not willing to chance going back and paying full price for something I could've done myself. The training that is done here must not be thorough enough for the employees to know how to inform their client of proper after care or how to ACTUALLY REMOVE THE HAIR on the area that is being waxed. They got 2 stars because the receptionist was nice and the waxer was sweet and tried to keep conversation going with me, but for the quality, they deserve a 1. read more

Waste of money!! Went in for a full leg wax and walked out with patches of hair all over my legs. When I asked if they could take off the hair that was still there, the lady just told me that they don't all come out. Had to come home and fix the mess they left me.
