Waxers are great! Grace was very thorough and Tiana has also been very helpful. HOWEVER, the front desk and office are run by a bunch of nitwits! I purchased a package on 5/16 in 6 payments of 162. When i went in on 6/13 for an appointment, they told me I had NO packages purchased. I had to spend 20 minutes looking through my credit card statements and finally found the charge. I waited all day for a manager to call me and called EWC three times in the interim because Chase wanted me to file fraud charges asap. When the manager FINALLY called me back she stated that the package had been put under someone else's number and she could transfer it over to me. I declined because this is the fourth issue I have had at this location, though none as serious as this. She stated that the dingdong that sold me the package had copied and pasted the WRONG phone number and that she (the manager) would refund the payment to my card. She also told me I WOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT BEING BILLED AGAIN, BUT GUESS WHAT I GOT TODAY? A text notification from Chase that I had been charged AGAIN. When I called EWC and explained the situation AGAIN, the dope at the desk hung up on me. I made it very clear that if I needed to go in there to see the manager in person, it would be very serious, as I understand the law and can speak quite well. Now, I have to wait for this nimrod to call me again AND file fraud charges with Chase. You can get a solid wax, but the stress of this place doesn't even warrant it. There are TONS of other salons that perform the same service, are easier to deal with, and have professionals running things, this just isn't one of them. read more

The door says they close at 6pm. I took a 20 min drive and walked in at 4:48 and they said they were closing and the last appointment was 4:45. It just seemed lazy. I work in the beauty industry, it would've taken them 10 minutes to do the wax. There was no one at the desk when I walked in and I had to wait until someone stepped out from wherever to even ask someone for services to be denied. Ladies please be aware when asked to purchase a wax pass package at the end of your service. After every appointment when it was time to pay for my service I was offered the wax package & declined it every time. Shortly after my last appointment I realized on my bank statement that I was charged for a package that I DID NOT APPROVE OF by the employee who rung me up who took it upon herself to add it to my account even after I declined several times, even going as far to ask me WHY I did not want to purchase it. I understand that they have to push these packages to customers but it should only take one no thank you & I shouldn't have to feel borderline harassed by the employee asking why I won't purchase the package. I have never been treated with such rude and piss-poor customer service since being a loyal customer. I have spent thousands of dollars over the past 4+ years, repeatedly buying packages because I get serviced often. I make sure to tip at least $15 with every visit because I'm sure the technicians appreciate more pay for their services. But today, I was caught in traffic. It happens. I called in advance and Ariana, the guest service assistant, told me I had a 9-minute grace period. I walked in at the 10 minute mark. I hear Ariana in the back laughing with her co-workers. I say hello to try and alert her. She doesn't hear me. I sit back down and wait. A technician acknowledges me and then alerts Ariana that I'm up front. She runs up, out of breath with her cell phone in one hand, trying to open her computer screen, and immediately says, "You missed your grace period!" The office was empty and the technician she said was busy was seen cleaning up while I was waiting. I asked if I could be seen and she said no because it's policy. I then say, "No one is here." She is still shaking her head no. I then let her know that this is an opportunity to be flexible with a loyal customer who is kind to the staff and makes sure to always tip in spite of this horrible economy. She interrupts me, shrugs her shoulders and says, "Nice." I tell her she didn't need to be rude as I wasn't being rude to her. Then she asks if I wanted her to go ask if I could still be serviced. Of course I said no at this point. I will not be back. I will not re-new my packages either. I will not continue to spend money where I am treated poorly. I hope the manager, Jennifer, reads this and takes corrective action. Ariana will surely run your business away. I left and then was treated with the customer service I was used to by Rakiyah and Ana Maria at the Short Hills location. They apologized for Ariana's poor customer service and accommodated me. My service was excellent and I was glad to tip, as I always do. This is a warning to avoid the Union location altogether. Customer service matters, but if they have a lazy, rude and apathetic person like Ariana at the front desk, forget about it. Perhaps Ariana should find something else to do because customer service and simple kindness does not appear to suit her. And she should have been at the front desk to greet me in the first place, but she was somewhere off task. Simply put, just do better. read more

I absolutely love this location. The receptionist are always welcoming and professional. I would personally recommend Quiana. She's super efficient at what she does and doesn't take forever to get it done. So I went to this waxing place ECW in Union NJ like 3-4 weeks ago. I got a wax for the very first time. They showed me products and was really nice so I made a 2nd appointment. I didn't go to the 2nd appointment because I had my baby. Yet they took money from my account. MIND YALL I'M LOW ON FUNDS! So called the and the lady said its there no call no show fee. No one explained to during my visit that there was a no call no show fee. They spoke to me about EVERYTHING ELSE but that. She puts me on hold for 9 mins to only say the fee can't be waived, sorry. No remorse she didn't care. This company just goes and takes money out because you didn't show. Dr offices don't even do that. My typical eye brow lady left i assumed she retired and never to be heard from again. Good for her. But now i still need my eyebrows done. I visited many places and ended up having this place be my last option. I've gotten wax many times even tho my preferred choice is threading. I had irritation from the wax all day and woke up this morning to more irritation and my eyelid mainly shut. Also you can see that the person who did my eyebrows were kinda nervous to get close to the actual eyebrow hairs. I hate having to come home to tweeze. Very sweet girls. Nice customer service. I had an appointment today at this location(I've been to many EWC locations before) and by far it was the best experience. I was a bit late since I couldn't find the place but Front desk (Ciara) was way way accommodating. I didn't know about the 9 min late policy but Ciara squeezed me in, all with a good attitude, even though I was clearly frustrated with myself for getting lost. I had my wax with Chrissy, which was fast and painless! She is also super friendly which I appreciated, since it is an awkward thing getting waxed! Chrissy was done in like 5 min flat and was very knowledgeable. She recommended two products which I did buy. Very good experience with Chrissy and Ciara, I will definitely be back! read more

She never makes you feel rushed (and I take an excessive amount of time), makes sure you're as comfortable as possible and is all about body positivity. I've getting Brazilians for the past 5 months at a different waxing place and none are compared to EWC. I think their wax was truly magic because it didn't hurt as bad as the other waxing place. Part of it I think had to do with Christine! She was amazing and I didn't feel pain. Very friendly and nice, she applied pressure and got every hair! I highly recommend her! read more

The front receptionist was very friendly. The atmosphere was light and the environment was very clean. Unfortunately, my larger issue was with the technician. I'm very familiar with waxing and have exclusively waxed with EWC at another location. The manager is amazing. Welcoming, kind, polite, accomodating, respectful, happy lovely young lady. Her existence spreads happiness all over her center. Always greets her clients personally & shows how important each one of them is to her. So are all of her lovely associates. Up till now I visited twice and each time have had a beautiful experience. Makes her clients feel at home. Love to visit this particular wax center for these significant factors. I would recommend that european wax center should make sure to send some of their other managers for their customer service training to this Union wax center. I had a wax appointment for a Brazilian a few weeks ago and the receptionist at the front desk, Chassis was unprofessional and lied to my face. At the time of my wax appointment a few weeks ago, I had two remaining bikini full wax passes that have already been paid off. I told Chassis that I already have a bikini full pass and that I would pay the difference for the butt strip. Chassis proceeded to tell me that I do not have anymore wax passes available and that I needed to purchase another wax pass. And I told her that wasn't true because according to the app, I still have two available wax passes that I did not use. And she proceeded to lie to my face again saying that I do not have any available passes so that I can buy another pass. And I asked her if the app was wrong due to their system being hacked a few weeks prior. She said she isn't sure but she is certain that I do not have any wax passes available. So I buy another wax pass. Fast forward to today, I go to the center for my appointment and I asked the receptionist to pull up my account and to let me know how many passes I currently have. The receptionist tells me that I have two bikini full wax passes and 7 Brazilian wax passes, which means Chassis lied straight to my face and sold me a product that I didn't need at the moment, because I already had a package. So now I'm being charged for a product that I'm not using. I told the receptionist to print me receipts that show the wax passes that I currently have and it confirmed that I did in fact have 2 remaining wax passes that Chassis said I did not have. That is very unprofessional to lie in your customer face and to unethically sell a product to a customer that doesn't need the product. If it was not for my waxer that I love, I would never come back to this place. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Shame on this location and Chassis for lying to the customers just to meet her sales goal! Shame on her! read more
