Made an appt here, shampoo was less than 5 mins. No massage or scratching, it was a very quick slab of shampoo then rinse. They wanted to cut off my excess hair before the shampoo, it was a big chop of hair. My haircut ended up shorter than I asked for. My appointment was at 11:45, I was paying at 12:20. This included the shampoo and entire haircut... website said $45 and up, price came to $60. Tipped shampoo girl and hairdresser, the cut wasn't bad but not like the picture I showed. Picture was asymmetric feather edge angled long bob with the front piece ending below the shoulders, I got a blunt edged bob above my shoulders. Also the hairdresser seems to be on a time schedule to rush and finish even though I made an appointment. I wouldn't recommend this place, maybe for a trim. Also I want to add that the layers were not done with scissors , she cut it blunt then used a razor all around to thin. read more

I'm still on the hunt for the best affordable hair salon but I think for now Amoy takes the spot as my new go-to. I've been in Union county for about a year now but since we have Covid, I haven't been able to explore a lot of salons. Came here on a Saturday and we called first since we didn't know if they accept walk ins-- they don't and you can either make an appointment online or call them. Good thing they had an opening that day for 2 people. They take your temperature and only take a few people in at a time - Covid protocols. My mom and I both got our hairs cut. Sylvia shampoo'd out hair and was really nice. Sophia cut our hair and did a nice job with it. I say $90 for 2 people is pretty reasonable. Will definitely be back next time read more

Union's best kept secret!!! Last week my bestie and I went to have a lash lift. I use Latisse on my lashes so I called in advance to make sure it was okay since I understand lash lifts require quite a bit of strong chemicals and I didn't want to have a negative reaction. I was told to temporarily stop using my Latisse and wait about a week prior to coming which they scheduled at that time. I arrived at my appointment a bit nervous but excited. I did read a few horror stories about how the lash technician (from other salons) got chemical in the clients' eyes and how it burned really bad because of that. I also read about "bad reactions" to the procedure (also at other salons) which could happen to anyone. The salon was very tastefully decorated, clean and simply beautiful. The pics I took were of the White room where everything in there was white hence the name. That's where my procedure took place. Ileana made me feel comfortable. She was kind, professional and knowledgeable. In a nut shell, she knew her craft very well and was confident in doing it. We discussed eyelash extensions. Yes, I use Latisse but it's only been a month since I started using it. You'll need to use Latisse for a couple of months before seeing very good results and about 4 months before seeing "full" results, so technically my lashes are still a bit short. The procedure took about 45 minutes. It's crazy how my lashes look now! Crazy!!! When I put mascara on, it literally looks like I have false lashes. I am loving this! The lift should last about 4-6 weeks (or 6-8 weeks I can't remember) I'll definitely schedule another one within that time. I was able to resume my Latisse 48 hours after the procedure. I believe they do microblading eyebrows and a whole host of beauty procedures. I'll most certainly be returning as it's only 5 minutes from my house but honestly even if it weren't, it's worth the travel for sure. Highly recommend! read more

I was in the area and figured I would call ahead to find out if they had any availability for lip and chin wax and the person who picked up the phone very politely told me to come on in although I didn't have an appointment which was really nice. Although their price menu says lip is $10 and chin is $15. I was charged $30 when paying and was told that I had too much hair???? I have an average amount of hair, it wasn't long and it wasn't overgrown. I felt taken advantage of. Plus I had to take a work phone call before she started the wax and was met with such scrutiny from the person waxing me, even though I had to wait about 5 minutes for her to finish cutting the wax paper before my appointment started. My ends were brittle and dry and I was ready to just have the color fixed and go back to black (or dark brown) and be natural! I would HIGHLY suggest NOT going here. The woman who did my facial was Tammy. I bought a Groupon for a facial and a glycolic acid peel. Not only was she extremely rude, she was touching my face after counting her money and taking phone calls in front of me. The room was about 90°, I asked her to put the air on and she said the vent is open and it was not working. She then tried using a dollar sheet face mask on me, I told her that was NOT going to happen. She had a couple other facemasks with price tags on them of $3.29. He also didn't give me the glycolic acid peel that I paid for nor did she do any extractions on me. She told me that I have milia and rosacea but I have seen a dermatologist several times and they have never diagnosed me with either. I also don't think that they change the sheets on the beds in between clients, the room looked very dirty to me. I have broken out so horribly since I was there yesterday. When I walked out, Tammy told me to "have a great life." The problem with this "spa" if you even want to call it that the aestheticians bring all of their own products. They do not have a brand that they have their employees using on their clients, so the owner really has no idea what the aestheticians are even using on their clients. Overall, I thought this place was very unprofessional besides the woman at the front desk, Caryn, who seemed pleasant. Don't waste your money, this place is an actual joke... read more

Sophia is a genius when it come to hair color but especially blow outs. I started a new job and really wanted my curly sometimes frizzy hair to look good and it's been raining so often. I've gotten two blow outs from her in Sundays and they have literally lasted all week. I just brush at night and again in the morning and spray and my hair has looked fabulous literally Monday thru Friday. She is a miracle worker and I'm making another apportionment right now. Haircut is mediocre at best (ok, to be honest it's uneven and choppy) but, the real problem is that services are provided without the clients knowledge. I found it to be quite cheeky and bold that my 8 year old daughter received a "blow out" without being asked. While it would have been appropriate to ask the adult, I would have settled for Karen asking the 8 year old child, but sadly she did not. Furthermore, I would call my daughters hair mostly dried but, nowhere near a blow out. As a new customer, I felt taken advantage of and will not be back because of this. read more

Went here few weeks ago. Not good for a haircut. Good rapport though. I even showed a photo of what I want but it turned out so different. Asked for layers, it looked like it was rushed. They use razors to thin your hair which apparently makes it so uneven if not professionally done. I had to go to another salon to get it fixed. Based on their online booking, it should be 45mins. The whole haircut was done in 15mins for $55. Def not worth it. read more

Horrible customer service!! I made an appointment for 2:30 on Sunday for mani/pedi. I arrived at my scheduled time and the lady at the front desk said the woman was finishing up with someone else/ no problem. 15 minutes later I had to asked where my technician was. The woman at the front desk then ushered me into the chair to soak. 20 minutes later- my water is cold, my feet are soaked, still no technician. I was literally the only person in the salon (which I could see). Apparently my technician was busy with a bikini wax? (Aren't those different licenses???) In either regard, there are way too many nail salons in the area for me to repeat these place. Clearly customer concern is not important. Thanks for wasting my time! read more
