Give option to place orders at right or left side of bar. My aunt, mother and I were ignored multiple times by multiple staff after we asked at bar if we should order there and were told to take a seat and someone would be with us shortly. Two other tables that came in after us were served. I then had to go up to the bar to ask to pay as no one came by again even after all our drinks were empty for at least 10 minutes. Again multiple staff walked by us multiple times. Hard not to read into the reasons we were ignored specifically when several groups were being tended to.

The steak (Popocatepetl: spicy black pepper crusted aged angus beef tenderloin / red cabbage and snow peas in cilantro vinaigrette / jasmine rice) we shared looked nothing like the description. Either our server was clueless regarding gluten-free, because this wasn't up to our standards for a high-end restaurant--the flavor wasn't the same as we remembered from several years ago, and the steak (medium rare) inside was colder--not room temperature, so I ended up not eating all of mine. Plus we had to ask for rice--which should have come with our meal since there isn't flour or any ingredients that would have made this harmful to me. Also, the side of asparagus it came with wasn't bright green and crispy--it was yellowish and flimsy-looking and tasting. For the price, this should have been more on point than what it was. We had split a steak, shared a soup, had a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a dessert--oh, and a $12 split change (something they suggested--even though my partner and I were fine eating from the same plate)...the bill was almost $400 with tax & tip. The dessert however, was presented beautifully with mixed berries and a liquor which was then lit on fire--a festive dessert option since I have a gluten allergy. There are so many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately, the food did not leave us craving to come back for more. If the service and decor wasn't so impressive, Sazon would have received one stars.

He really seemed to care that we were comfortable. In fact, most of the negative reviews complain that it was low lit and quiet and only one bartender. I found these things the most attractive. They focus on craft cocktails with seasonal ingredients. I visited late in the night after other stops at Secreto and Coyote Cafe, so I was flagging a bit. I can't even remember what I ordered, but both cocktails were great. Very herbal and complex. They have herbal cocktails, savory cocktails, spicy too. I also love how some of their cocktails have little romance novels or stories to go along with them as a way to describe their flavors/mood.

The same thing happened with his second beer, terrible pour. Either bring it out with head or fill the pint glass appropriately. For appetizers, we ordered the hummus and whipped feta with pita, the calamari, and a radish, arugula prosciutto salad. The calamari was ready and sitting on the counter under a heat light for 20 minutes before it was brought to us with our other appetizers. At this point it was soggy. I also had to ask for the dips that were advertised with the calamari. They then brought out the garlic aïoli, and then I had to again ask for the marinara sauce , as stated on the menu. The salad was all right, but was definitely lacking flavor, some balsamic would've helped it. The hummus and whipped feta was so terrible we had to send it back. The hummus was dried out and rockhard. We couldn't even dip into it. The whipped feta was separated from sitting in a fridge too long. It was milky with a hard clump in the middle. How this got served is beyond me, you could tell by looking at the milky feta and the dried out hummus that it was bad. The manager did come and take it back and it was taken off our check. That's all we ever saw of the manager again.When we were ready to leave, the waiter still had to take the feta and hummus off our ticket. Strike three. I just don't understand, the atmosphere is so beautiful, the space is really unique. They will not be getting my money again.
