I chose my wedding dress in October 2023 from Eva's Bridal and was accompanied by my mom, sister, mother in law, and sister in law. My wedding was set to be in August 2024. When I chose my wedding dress, my sister and I repeatedly verbalized what was to be changed and customized to Samia. I was ensured that the changes I wanted can be made. My mistake was not reviewing the contract before leaving but since Samia was making the order and she was the one who assisted me with my dress, I honestly didn't believe anything I asked for could be lost in translation. I kid you not, over and over again I specified what I wanted to be done and even compared it to a previous dress I tried on so that the visual could be made. I should also mention that my sister-in-law chose her wedding dress from this place and was left in an even worse predicament (was left with no wedding dress about two weeks before her wedding because they completely ruined her dress). My sister-in-law and I basically went through this process together as our weddings were about 2 months apart. She wrote a review as well. To continue, it took ten months for my wedding dress to come in just for it to be not what I asked for at all. With about a month left until my wedding, I was devasted and emotional that my custom wedding dress that I get to experience once in my life turned out as such. I was measured by four ladies in that establishment and all of the measurements differed. I did gain a few pounds throughout my engagement (healthy and happy relationship weight :) honestly 5 pounds max) but when it was time for my dress fitting I was literally the same weight, if not less with my wedding date approaching. I think other women can relate that their body dysmorphia and eating disorders worsen during these times as it most definitely did for me. It's not enough that you feel like you're in a mental fight with yourself overweight but to have it thrown in your face by employees at the bridal store that you said yes to the dress to was absolutely ridiculous. Samia told me I gained 5 inches in my back (her reasoning as to why my dress did not close whatsoever). I told her that's absurd as I weigh the same and all of the dresses I previously bought for my bridal parties fit me just as they did when I first tried them. I truly believe I was measured incorrectly to begin with and was put in my head that I gained a substantial weight for my dress not to fit. As I was showing my family that the dress doesn't even come close to closing on me, another employee, Hala, said in the front of the store that I gained weight. Previous to this, I encountered the owner and as she was saying hello to me and introducing herself; she literally laughed and "whispered" in my ear - "How's managing that weight of yours going". At this point, I was so disgusted and fed up with how the people at this "establishment" treated me. Also, every member that accompanied me to my first fitting said there was either something missing or was wrong with the dress as they were there (10 months ago) for when I chose my wedding dress and verbalized the changes I wanted. They brought in another seamstress to look at my dress and fix it as I told them their in-house seamstress would not be working on my dress as she worked on and ruined my sister in law's wedding dress. When the new seamstress came in and we discussed the fixes that need to be made she said that it is completely recreating the top of the dress, taking it completely apart, and putting puzzle pieces together. It was not going to be exactly as I wanted and honestly I should have been given a dress to how I exactly wanted it ( it's my wedding dress :/ ) and there was no way I was going to settle on my own wedding dress. At that point, I just asked her if I should find a new dress and she said in front of my sister, mother in law and sister in law that it'd be hard to make the changes I want. Thus, I made the decision to leave it. But then Samia came in and was basically ushering the seamstress to say yes we can do that, you've done this before, we have this and that. No way I was going to stick through this and expect the outcome to be good when this store has done too many wrongs already. I left so distraught and upset. I waited ten months for my custom wedding dress just to have been faced with such unprofessionalism and terrible service. Save yourself the trouble and stress and visit DI Bridal, Eva's International, Miha, etc. When I visited other bridal stores in the area after this situation, each of them had something to say about this establishment- they're running a scam, they cut corners, and this keeps happening to brides. If I could give this place a higher rating I would! The dress I was looking for was not available at any bridal store near me (Milwaukee). I called Eva's because they carried the designer, and while they did not have the dress either they went above and beyond to get the dress delivered to their store for me to try on. (This was not a service any other bridal boutique even offered!) As promised, they called when the dress was being shipped and when it was in their possession. After visiting 10 stores, I finally found my wedding dress at Eva's Bridal! They have a huge selection of Demetrios ball gowns which is exactly what I was looking for. Lulu was absolutely fantastic. She was patient with me as I tried on different dresses and really helped me find the perfect dress for me. And I was able to get my dress and veil at prices exactly within budget. Very disappointed. Not only is the service poor, but also nothing gets done promptly or on time. I wish I could give them 0 stars. This store's main concern is over charging you and not sticking to their word. My dress not only came in a month late, but my initial fitting appointment was cancelled. When I finally got another fitting appointment, they kept rushing me the entire time when I was barely in the store for 10 minutes. She kept saying "we have other appointments other than you" when I asked her to give me a minute to try the dress on without a bra-- also I barely even took my full allotted time. Finally after I told them I no longer want them to alter the dress (because they added more charges than we initially agreed on) I just want them steam it, pay the remainder balance, and leave. They then pretended to steam my dress (only steamed the top layer and left the rest un-steamed) and called me back saying to come pick it up. Mind you making fitting appointments with them is incredibly difficult because they only have the seamstress available Sundays and Tuesdays. I came to pick up my dress after it was "steamed" to find it only half steamed. At that point I just didn't care anymore so I picked up the dress and I left. The main issue is the way they treat you here. A wedding is usually a once in a life time event and you want to love and enjoy every part of it. Not only did I dread my experience with them but they also made some of my happiest days the absolute worst with their pcp of professionalism and respect. If you care for your sanity and dignity please do not shop here for a wedding dress. Also if you want you wedding dress to arrive on time for your wedding then please avoid this place at all costs. I drove from Kentucky to Chicago to go dress shopping and only had two appointments... this one is of them because they had a dress I fell in love with and had to try on. I was disappointed.... dress shopping is suppose to be an exciting experience, and as a bride to be I felt like this place could care less. I picked out the dresses myself (along with my mom and friend), the staff didn't make any suggestions. Half the time I felt like I was getting dressing myself... at one point I walked out of the dressing room to have my mom zip me up because the lady helping me was gone. The experience we had at this bridal store was TERRIBLE. First day we walk in, we are yelled at for going to a different salon to look at different dresses. They yelled at the bride for wanting a long sleeve gown with minimal alterations, stating that there is no such thing. The brides family was yelled at for looking at dresses in the store and making suggestions. Because we know the owner, we decided to give them another chance and ordered the gown, being promised that the back, arms, and the front of the dress would be filled with lace because the bride wears the hijab and doesn't want her skin to show. She was promised that it will all be taken care of. We were promised that the dress would be in store the first weekend of September. The bride called multiple times and was told the dress had not been shipped until the weekend that the bride was promised the dress would be there. The bride was called a week later stating it was finally in the store and she stated that because she lives in a different state and due to her working, she would not be able to come to the store until the following weekend. When the bride and her mother walked into the store 15 minutes before her appointment, they were kicked out and told to come back. When the bride came back and saw the dress, she noticed the dress was not completed as she was promised. The sleeves and back were see-through and when the bride told them, she was blamed for everything. They told the bride that it was her fault the dress was wrong, it was her fault that the dress was see-through, and she was yelled at and told that she is not allowed to get upset and cry. The mother of the bride tried to talk to them, but was yelled at and told to be quiet and that everything was their fault. The bride called her sister to come and deal with it. When her sister came to the store, she was yelled at and disrespected. They were just so rude and so mean, worst experience. The bride told them that the dress was big up top and they said that the bride should just go get double sided tape and the bride mentioned the dress was long, they said it's not their problem. They wouldn't fix things properly. Overall, the experience was THE WORST. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. They blame you for their mistakes, make you feel like trash, and don't give you what they promise. This place is an awful experience for a bride. I went to two other places thankfully and got bridal treatment like you would expect when you are spending thousands on your dress. I was actually worried and almost started crying my at my appointment. Evas is pushy and doesn't let you take any photos in any dresses. They also try to make a deal with you but has to be done that day LOL this place is a joke. There are tons of other bridal salons that will treat you great. STAY AWAY!! We put deposit on a dress to hold the sale price for later purchase. We were told it was a store credit so if we bought a dress elsewhere we could use the credit to by a wedding veil. We bought a wedding dress at another store. We went back the Eva's to by a veil. Guess what - we were told it was not a store credit and only could by a wedding or bridal dress with our store credit. If you have any expectations at all for good customer service or a clean, pleasant boutique experience...this place is not for you. Don't even bother walking in. The store itself is run down. It's seen waaaay better days. I guess I figured that a bridal store would at least try and look a little bit nice...given the amount of money you're about to lay down for a dress. I found the atmosphere to make even the dresses seem just so-so. I actually found a dress there that I really liked but both my mom and I agreed we wouldn't buy it there based on the experience we had. The selection was not horrible...however their website would have you believe they carry many brands. In reality, they only have a handful. If you want something specific...CALL AHEAD... Chances are they don't have it and you'll just have to order blindly. The lady helping us didn't pull a single dress I was interested in. It was only after she allowed us to look through the overwhelming selection of sample dresses that my mom found the one I liked best. As for customer service... the lady helping us was nice...but she never asked us what the wedding date was, what my budget was. She just looked at some pictures I brought in and disappeared for 15 minutes or more. When she came back she had a hodge-podge of dresses for me to try on...but none that worked at all. Overall, I'd say pass on this place. I'm just surprised that boutiques that carry designer gowns don't take a que from shows like Say Yes To The Dress and others... Service is awful. I went to Eva's to try on some wedding dresses with my mom and 2 bridesmaids. When we arrived at the door, the lady at the desk looked very put off that we were there, even though I had an appointment. My consultant was a little hard to warm up to, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I barely saw her the rest of the visit. Evidently she was helping other customers, and kept complaining about how short staffed they were, which I just thought was completely unprofessional. I'm definitely NOT a high maintenance bride, but she did not help me get into any of the dresses, so my girls had to help me, which is fine, except that they do know how some of these dresses are supposed to fit or look... that's what your consultant is there for. Finally, when we were getting ready to leave, the consultant magically appeared and tried to cut me a deal on a dress I was quasi interested in. Frankly, it was too little too late for me. These are a bunch of sassy ladies considering my assumption of what they must go through on a daily basis. I bared with them. As a bridesmaid for a smaller party, they sassed me before letting me know they would fix what my issues were. What's the point? What's the point in taking my measurements if you're going to put me into a size 6 dress when I'm really a 2? They took off about 4 inches all around and a few off the bottom on my FIRST visit. For my second visit I saw that the length was really good but they didn't trim the belt that hangs off the back. This tail dragged behind me about 4 inches. They tried to convince me that it looked nice for a while after I told them my reasoning for wanting it shorter. "The other girls don't have that." That's because one of the gal's is 5'10". After resolving that I found a stain. After being frustrated and making long trips out there, I gave up on a THIRD try out there and had someone pick it up and wished for the best. I feel as thought I *ought* to like this place because I bought my wedding dress there, but in reality, every time I went there after I bought my dress was a hassle and half. Let me at least start with the positive - they have a great selection with fair prices, and the staff was handy with suggestions in helping me find a dress that fit my style. They also bit the cost with their mistakes, which I appreciate. And then comes trouble. I had read the Yelp reviews before going there and had heard the horrible things about how they run late. Because they were the only ones in the area with the dress I liked, I decided to risk it, but to play it safe, I had to lie and say my wedding was 3 months earlier than it actually was. AND THANK GOD I DID. I wish I were being overdramatic about this, but I'm not. For a May 9th wedding, we told them February 9th, and ordered in February the year before (2013). They told me the dress would be in around October/November. Okay, fine no problem. I also ordered a halter strap for the dress, 2 bridesmaids dresses, and a dress I just thought was pretty. Those dresses hadn't had their prices adjusted, so they gave us the discount price. I was happy! October, nothing. November, nothing. December, nothing. In fact, nothing until 15 days before our supposed wedding date! All of my calls, when eventually transferred to the manager were met with "It's being shipped." Well unless it's being shipped via pony express on a lame horse, I don't think it takes that long to ship anything! The dress came in . . . and they had forgotten the halter strap! Just completely forgotten. One week before the "wedding," they ended up just giving me their display strap from the store, although they claimed it was the brand new one (nope - I could tell it was slightly used, and the shelf one was missing. That's okay though, they gave me a great discount for it - I just would have liked some HONESTY!) The bridesmaid dresses were another story. They came in even later than the wedding dress. One had a stain on it, which I asked them to remove. They tried to convince me it was just chalk and I could do it myself, but when I insisted that they take care of it (liability and all), they refused until the manager came in the next morning, just in case "something happened." Um, I thought it was just chalk? Luckily that came out though. For dress #3, my "extra" dress, they redeemed themselves a bit. I had ordered it in a different color than my bridesmaid dresses, and they sent the wrong color. They told me they woudl not be able to fix it in time for my event, so they just gave me the dress for free (minus my downpay). I thought that was rather nice of them, but also by this point I wasn't too fond of their service. If I hadn't lied about my wedding date, I would have been beyond upset and had to pay several up-charges to rush the fitting of my dress. My dress was worth the headache, but I think it would have been easier to drive to a further place to avoid the hassle of poor customer service. I don't appreciate lies and rudeness, and would advocate that they get their act together. It's a nice store, but needs to treat their customers much better. read more

So I have to say, I'm not really sure why Eva's has been getting such awful reviews. I hope they're reviewing the right one! I've gone into Eva's twice now, and both times, I had really friendly and welcoming service. No one was remotely pushy in a sale, and they helped get me a much better price on the dress I picked out. I brought 7 guests with me (yes, it snowballed), and they weren't bothered by that at all. I went in to try on a bunch of dresses yesterday, and the lady that was helping me (Judy) was extremely helpful and actually pulled the dress that was ultimately MY DRESS just based on a few guidelines I gave her and what she saw through my reactions to other dresses. They were somewhat busy when I arrived for my appointment, but that was to no fault of their own- they had a lot of people coming in to pick things up at that time. I had to wait a little bit longer than I maybe should have, but Judy was exceptionally gracious, and all the attention she gave me completely made up for the extra few minutes I had to wait. It was a very personalized experience and I got exceptional service there. Perhaps the service is better when you make an appointment or shoot to go at a time when you think less people will be there. Honestly, what store has perfect service when there is an onslaught of customers? I also wonder how the horror stories come about for dresses not coming in on time- Read any wedding magazine or website or talk to anyone working at a bridal shop: It's recommended you order a gown 8 to 12 months before your wedding. Heck, I ordered my a good 14 months in advance to avoid those scary things. Just a little planning can help avoid bad experiences. UPDATE: I would also like to note that all of my fittings were met with the same extremely high level of attention as my first visit. The staff were very personable, and the girl that helped me with my fittings was incredibly nice and fun to talk to. Honestly pretty dissatisfied with my service at Evas in Orland. Went to get a bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding which at the time was set for December 1st 2012. We went to Evas January of 2012 to make my final order That being said they put me in a room with her other bridesmaids who I had just met. Trying on dresses in front of some one I didn't know was very awkward and uncomfortable. The bride had to ask for another sales person to help us because the first person was very rude to us. They wrote down what dresses I like because I was still unsure of the dress (the bride let us choose between a couple different styles. When I came back they only pulled one of the dresses for me, and couldn't find the other one i had to try on. They measured me and I ordered the dress i tried on. Later that week after looking at the dresses on-line I called to change the style. At first they said i couldn't, then they said i had to send an email, it was very confusing. I ended up sending an email requesting a style change. No one ever replied to my email to let me know whether or not my style was changed. Due to pregnancy the bride had to change her wedding date. Dec 1st comes around and i still haven't heard anything via email or phone call about my bridesmaid dress. The bride called to check the status of her dress (which was still in Spain ) the person she spoke to at Evas told her they had called the bridesmaids around October 16th. This was not true at least in my case, I received no phone call or email I went to Evas in January 2013 so a whole Year later to get my dress. the first lady at the front desk had a very rude tone to her voice, she answered any questions I had very rudely. she led me to a room and put the dress in it and said "open the door when you have it on" after I opened the door and asked her to zip me up the rest of the way she told me the dress fit and that I needed no alterations. (At this point i didn't want to say anything to her because she had such a bad and rude attitude) The dress did not fit it was tight in the thighs and there was extra fabric/space in my stomach area and it was terribly wrinkled. Fortunately they had changed the style to the one i requested in the email, however because they never replied back i was never told the dress would cost additional money. i had looked up the dress on-line. on-line it was 154 at Eva's it was 209... when i asked why there was a difference the person taking my cash told me it was like the difference between shopping at walmart and Kmart... and even She got confused at first to why I owed more money. I was asked what I was looking for, what my budget was, etc., and then brought a few dresses to try to get my reaction. From there, she brought me dresses until (less than 2 hours from the time I tried on the first wedding dress), I found the dress that I purchased. When you make your appointment, ask for Lynn. She knows what she's doing, takes time to get to know what you want, and then finds a dress that will suit you. read more

This was the first of 6 bridal stores that I visited. I had a very mixed experience with this Eva's (none of the Eva's Bridals are affiliated, FYI, so don't judge the others by these reviews). The person who made my appointment was friendly, so no complaint there. I bought my prom dress from here about 12 years ago, with good service and alterations. Also bought a bridesmaid dress from here about 5 years ago with good service. My mom and I arrived on time to our appointment, but we had to wait almost 30 minutes to be greeted and brought back to the room. I did notice that the bridal salon had seen better days. In other words, it looked like it did 12 years ago... the worn grey carpet needs to go. I would have been a bit more willing to wait the 30 minutes, but the consultant was rude when I asked her about bridesmaid dress catalogs to pass our wait time. Also, it was about 80 degrees inside the salon and quite uncomfortable. The wait time was definitely due to it being a very busy Saturday, but I would have rather they told me that they were overbooked and scheduled my appointment for a less busy day then just scheduling me. The consultant who helped us was clearly rushed and busy with other appointments when she brought us back. I told her I was interested in Pronovias dresses, told her the style I wanted, and she took my pictures and rushed away. For about 20 minutes, my mom and I sat in the stifling dressing room waiting for her to come back. When she did, she dropped off about 6 dresses and rushed out of the room again. Excuse my ignorance, but I thought the consultant was supposed to help me with putting the dresses on and tying them up? My mom and I waited another 10 minutes for her to come back, but when she didn't my mom and I just began to wrangle me in and out of a handful of dresses. I am going to assume that this is why their samples are pretty beat up. My mom and I handled the dresses very carefully during my "trying on and off process", but I would bet that if most women are left alone in the room, they may not be as careful. When the consultant did come back, she wasn't much more help. I told her the dresses were exactly the style I was looking for and exactly in our price range, but that I hadn't found "the one". She looked BAFFLED that I hadn't fallen in love with any of the dresses she brought (even though she hadn't even seen them on me or listened to the feedback on the individual dresses because she wasn't even in the room!) At that point, I was visibly frustrated and upset, so my mom and I just left. After over 90 minutes of being in Eva's Bridal, we only spoke to the consultant for 10 minutes total. I was in tears in the parking lot because I felt pretty beat up by my first dress shopping experience. The only reason I am not giving them 1 star, is because the woman who answered the phone was pleasant and they did carry a lot of dresses in our budget... not that it makes much of a difference because the service is downright terrible. I ended up finding my dream dress there with the help of Reem. She was relentless in making sure I was happy with my dress. I am thoroughly discussed with the service (or lack of service) from this business. It is as if they feel that they are superior to their customers and other competitors. The store is dimly lit, has a bad order, and is a bit dirty. The sales staff isn't friendly, and made me (and the bride) feel as if we were inconveniencing them. The prices are too high for the quality of the dresses they provide. In addition, the arrival of the dresses seems to be unknown. The poor bride has gotten told 3 different shipment dates. Save your money and go to Davids Bridal. Your pictures will still be perfect and you will save a giant headache. read more

I bought a bridesmaid dress from Eva's over the phone. Every customer service person I spoke has been rude. After giving my measurements the sales lady tried to get me to order 2 sizes bigger than I needed. On top of that, I ordered the dress in August of 2009 and I have still not received it. I have called them multiple times and they try to push off their responsibility to the bride- ridiculous! The bride and I live on opposite coasts and I purchased the dress from them not her. They do not call back when they say they will, leave you on hold for long periods of time and are generally rude. The customer service is beyond awful and the prices are expensive. I recommend getting bridesmaid dress from JCrew because they were beyond helpful, came in my size, were much cheaper and arrived in less than a week. Avoid this place. read more

Horrible! Completely unorganized and they just add stress to wedding planning. I went there to get fitted for my sister's wedding. I arrived there and she couldn't even find the dress! I was not able to see what the dress looked like nor was I able to try it on. She told me I was three sizes bigger than what I normally am. I know that bridesmaids dresses fit a bit smaller, but THREE sizes?! That worried me a little. That was back in January. Fast forward to May, they said that none of the bridesmaids dresses would arrive until July- ONE MONTH before the wedding! So my sister called them last week and they said the dresses would arrive on Monday of this week. Well my mom calls the store, speaks to the owner, Hala, and she claims that the delay of the order is not their fault, but the "factory's" fault. On the Allure website, it only takes 8-12 weeks to make & deliver the dresses. So that means that the dresses would've been here by May at the latest. It is hard to fathom that the dresses take about three months to get delivered from Tennessee! She tried to make it seem like her store had nothing to do with this mess, yet I'm sure they did not place any orders right away. I called the store today, was put on hold twice, and then was told that the dress would be here next week! The wedding is exactly one month from today and I still have not seen the dress or even tried it on. Never am I doing business there again. read more

That would've cost an arm and a leg to get them rushed as it was a destination wedding and I was leaving in 4 days! Thankfully we have a family member that does alterations, bless her! A week! Ok, so I'll preface by saying I had a group of 11 with me looking for a dress, this was our first stop of 3. We arrived right as they opened. There were a few other girls there at the same time and I wasn't greeted right away, but I was able to browse the SMALL selection they have in the front of the store. The For a store with a photo of an $87,000 wedding dress on the counter, I would expect a little more glitz and glam in the store...the place just seemed not well maintained. Not exactly grungy, but just needing some cleaning and maintenance. My consultant was very nice and listened to everything I was looking for. Their dresses are in an "employees only" back room so you just have to trust they are pulling the best options for you - I can't recall her name (an older lady), but my consultant was very nice. It was a little slow getting the appointment going as we waited for her to gather all the dresses and whatnot, but once we started hopping in and out of dresses she was a wiz! They had beautiful dresses and most of the dresses she pulled were exactly what I was talking about, she was even helpful with ideas of how we could alter or add things to make it perfect (i.e. additional bling, a belt, straps, the veil). I went with my friend (I am a bridesmaid in her wedding) to help her find herwedding gown. I was there for moral support and also to keep her on check from going overboard and buying the first thing she tried on or being pressured into buying something that could be had for cheaper elsewhere. We brought in pictures of what she wanted to wear (lace, fit and flare) and we had a limited budget to work with (under $800). Our sales consultant brough in several dresses that fit the criteria and then asked my friend, the bride, if she would be ok with looking at sample gowns since they will be sold at a deeply discounted price. she brought her a 2010 lace gown that was originally $1200, selling for $350. It was perfect! it was exactly what my friend was looking for! The zipper was broken, threads were loose and it was dirty, but they will be replacing the zipper for free, and dry cleaning it for an extra $50. total with taxes - $450. score! never once did we feel pressured to buy anything, go above our budget, or made to feel less than because the budget was so tight. We will probably go back once we decide on what bridesmaids dresses. read more

This store gave me the most HORRIFIC experience a bride would ever want to face. I tried on a Justin Alexander dress at another store and decided it was the one. Even though the dress was only $1800, as a bargain shopper I started to call around to see if I could get it cheaper. I happened to call Eva's of Orland and they said they didn't have the dress in store but I should stop by to look at their "vast" inventory . When I came in, they had a very small selection of dresses. The lady helping me was very honest and let me know that they didn't have anything that fit the description of what I was looking for. I decided to ask if they would be able to order the Justin Alexander dress even though they didn't carry it. They said yes and sold it to me for $1500. I was super excited and paid for the dress in full. I also picked out a dress for my bridesmaids while I was there. Three weeks later I called to ask a question about the bridesmaid dress. After hanging up, the person that rang me up for the dress calls me back and says "I forgot to ask you, did you ever decide on a wedding dress?" I was shocked and replied, "Um I ordered my dress 3 weeks ago and paid in full." She started to fumble her words and said she read her paper wrong and assured me that my dress was ordered. I got a little suspicious but trusted that everything was fine. Two months later after much back and forth with them regarding bridesmaid dresses, I took one of my bridesmaids to a different dress shop to view a full dress in the color of my bridesmaid dresses instead of looking at it on a swatch. I happened to tell one of the clerks about the strange experience I had had so far with Evas of Orland. Her eyes got big and she ran to the back to get her manager. They both come running out to let me know that Eva's of Orland was a fraudulent store and that it was impossible for them to have ordered my dress since they are not an authorized retailer of Justin Alexander. I didn't know anything about that term, but it turns out that if a designer hasn't authorized a store to sell their dresses (store listings are on designer websites) then a shop can not order dresses for you made by that designer. They called the designer for me and I called the designer myself the next day. Sure enough they did not have an order for my dress at all. I was FURIOUS and broke down into tears. I had to reorder my dress from a different store and put a rush order on it. This would have normally been an extra $500 but because they felt bad for me, they waived it. I went back to Eva's of Orland fuming, yelled at everyone and demanded my money back. The owner's brother who does the accounting just kept saying, "We are working on being an authorized retailer. We have WAYSof getting the dress" After reading the other reviews and complaints of cheap material, I'm convinced that he meant that they have a cheap manufacturer in China who makes replicas. The next day, the owner called me and said she would give me my money back if I sent her an email canceling my order. I sent that email twice and of course they kept claiming they never got it. The new dress shop told me that Evas of Orland runs this scam, gets cheap locations, never pays the rent, gets evicted, then jumps to the next location . Sure enough in the two months that this happened, they had moved to another location on John Humphries road (you can google the current lawsuit against them for back rent). The designer Justin Alexander was kind enough to write me a letter to give my credit card company so I could file a dispute and get my money back. Thank God I was able to do that. I started to take them to court as other brides have in the past, but with all of the wedding planning I've had on my plate, that's the last thing I needed to take on. This experience truly broke my heart. Buying your wedding dress is the most precious part of wedding planning and I'm so glad I was able to find out about this, even though by pure accident, in time to order a new dress. I wish there was a negative star, because this place would get 5. The staff is rude, the place is falling apart, and the alterations are terrible. Brides, don't subject your girlfriends and relatives to the worst possible bridal salon in Chicagoland. There are hundreds of great shops to choose from and they all get their dresses from designers overseas. Do yourself a favor and run away. Go anywhere else! read more

Update to my previous review: My dress finally arrived a month before my wedding. This was after I had called the dress company myself, as I'd been given the run-around by Eva's and was getting very worried. Eva's had been blaming the dress company for being late on their orders, but ironically, my dress actually shipped right after I called the dress company (Casablanca). I insisted on Eva's giving me the UPS tracking number, and found out via tracking my dress that it was shipped Cash on Delivery. Suspicious! In the end, the dress came in exactly as I'd expected - the right size, the right shade of ivory, perfect condition - but something very strange is going on with this store and I would not recommend it. It's too bad, because they have great prices. read more

Judy greeted me without ever looking at me and had already turned to show me down the hallway before any subpar introduction was finished. She let me in the fitting room with my mom and a friend, and then just kinda left. She went to hunt for some dresses, and I expected her to come back to help me get in and out of them and pick out a slip for me and whatnot. She only returned to give and take dresses. I guess I expected more help, but maybe she thought my mom would help me. Then she told me the dress I was interested in- oh, the price just went up, so she would have to check what it was now instead of what the tag said. Then she came back to tell me that the dress would be priced as listed, and not only that, but they would include alterations. Wait... um, how is it that the price went up moments ago, only to be followed by a discount?? It felt sketchy. I give her some credit because she said she was having some trouble with the computer system and someone in the office passed out, so maybe her day was not going well. But for me to pay alot of cash, it would have been nice for her to pretend like she cared or was attentive to me. read more

Terrible service! Came here for a bridesmaid dress fitting with my friend, and I can't believe this place! I walked in the door to find 4 of the workers standing around talking, and none even looked up from their conversation with each other (which had nothing to do with business of any kind, it was about TV). I could have been a BRIDE! Finally, after I stood there awkwardly, someone came out of the BACK room and asked me what I needed, and I told them I was there for a fitting and meeting my friend and the rest of the party. They told me what room to go to, but...could they have maybe led me there? I had to find it myself. Our whole bridal party (Bride, mother-of, 4 bridesmaids, junior and her mom) were all crammed in one fitting room. Then, the lady who measured us made us all take off our tops in front of each other, which (being overweight) I did not appreciate. It was a slow day, she could have done the ACTUAL fittings in a different room instead of making us strip in front of each other. It took 7 MONTHS to get this bridesmaid dress in. That's almost as long as it takes to carry a child to full term. There's no beadwork. There's no lace. It's a tea-length, a-line dress with one strap and a sash. On top of that, it seems the measurements they spent forever taking meant nothing, because being 5'2", you'd think they could have ordered me a petite dress, but it came in with the strap about 2" too tall (it actually hovers above my shoulder), and the hem 3" too long. Also, the bust is HUGE. At least a 44 EE, and I'm a 36C, no exaggeration, I stuffed a throw pillow in there with me. I understand this might be a problem caused by the dress manufacturer, but then why did you take the measurements? And they charged me extra for the extra size because "of all the extra fabric." Fabric that I now have to have a tailor hack off, as he completely rebuilds this dress for almost the price of it. (I wasn't going to go back to Eva's for the alterations after the service I'd already had! When I went in to pick up the dress, they happily took my cash money, then sat around playing with some lady's purse-dog and left me sitting waiting for the dress until the manager actually YELLED at one of them to take care of me.) Stay away! I'd suggest David's, I had fantastic service there when I got married. They are clean, organized, and the consultants seem to know what they are doing. Their inventory looks like it didn't just come out of a thrift store, and they have samples in many sizes for you to try on. Not sure how this place stays in business. read more

Her manager however blonde women was extremely rude i could hear their conversation about ordering a certain dress i like and they didn't have it in white the lady said we can possibly order it in white for you to see so of course i said sure? She asked her manager and i heard her smart ass remark. "What she cant visualize it in white." That made me decide to go elsewhere along with these reviews. read more

Unfortunately, working with Eva's was really the only negative experience I came across while planning for my wedding on May 4, 2013. I went in to the shop in Dec 2012 looking for bridesmaid dresses and they told me that we would have time to get them in by April. We got all the girls' measurements in to them by the date they told us to and the wait began. I was told they would ship the first week of April. They did not arrive at the shop until April 23, big difference. Luckily, we were able to overnight them to a few of the girls who are out of state and everyone was able to get rush alterations done, however the problem was in the communication from the store while I was waiting. Every time I called (they never would call me) I spoke with another staff person who was utterly useless. No one could give me any updates including when they would ship or provide me with a tracking number to ease my nerves. Each person just told me what I wanted to hear and even made up dates when it would ship. After countless phone calls I finally got in touch with the manager, Holla. She was finally able to call the manufacturer and get dresses rushed, which I had been asking for week for them to do. In the end I had to pay to overnight ship 4 out of the 7 dresses since they came in SO late. They also made one of my bridesmaids pay cash when she picked up her dress. That made no sense. Ask for Lynn! We bought a total of 12 dresses at Eva's Bridal including: my wedding dress, my 8 bridesmaids, my flower girls, my mom's mother-of-the bride, and my sister's wedding dress here. I visited 3 other bridal stores and none of them compared to Eva's. Eva's had the best assortment of dresses and Lynn was extremely helpful...I probably tried on 30 dresses. The prices were extremely reasonable and could be negotiated. I would recommend this bridal store to everyone!!! read more

I drove all the way here to see a certain wedding dress. I felt that the sales person was pushy, and I had to wait a long time to be helped.

I would not recommend Eva's to my worst enemy. First of all, the service here is horrendous. My sister (the bride) ordered her dress in January of 2012. By August, we'd heard nothing from Eva's so I called them and asked for the status. I was told that the manufacturer (Casablanca) was having problems in manufacturing and that was the reason for the delay. I called Casablanca directly and was told that there were no manufacturing problems. I called Eva's back and threatened a lawyer, and was told that the dress was going to be shipped a few days later. It wasn't. I called back on the day it was expected in (notice I'm the one doing all the calling?) and Eva's told me the dress hadn't been shipped. It wasn't being shipped for another week. I insisted on a tracking number for the dress (which I got the runaround on) but the dress did finally arrive. We went in for my sisters first fitting, and the dress was MASSIVE. When we ordered the dress, the salesperson suggested a size 10. My sister is a size 4 and we informed the salesperson that a 10 would be too big. Of course, her dress required tons of alterations. I had called and spoken to the manager and express my extreme frustration with the LACK of communication we'd received from them (none, we had to call them each and every time). They apologized. The even took $100 off my sister's alterations. When my sister went back for her second fitting, the dress fit better, but we noticed that some of the beading was missing on the was messed up. When we back for the final fitting (today, two days before the wedding) the beading wasn't fixed. Overall, this place is a train wreck. You will not receive a phone call from them at all. If you want to know about your dress, you will have to do all the leg work. I would highly suggest David's Bridal. They are much more efficient and the service is much better. Also, alterations are cash only, which was not communicated to us either. read more

I was wary going to Eva's b/c I heard so many horror stories. I went to the Oak Lawn and Orland Park locations. Although they are the same name, they have different owners, customer service, designers, and policies. I am reviewing the Orland Park location now. There is a difference. I went to this location because they carried a designer I liked (Pronovias). I made an appointment and they let me try on as many dresses as I wanted for as long as I wanted. Many salons have a limit on the number of dresses and appointments are normally one hour only. They were very friendly at Eva's on every occassion. My alterations were perfect. My dress came on time. I know two other people who were married before me that got their dresses from this location, along with bridesmaids' dresses, and they were all pleased. So, give them a chance if you're looking for a dress. You'll know once you start looking at dresses and trying them on if you want to do business with them. read more

Mixed about this place. I called the night before to ask about hours & appointments and Shirin answered the phone and was extremely rude to me. I didnt want to go to Eva's after that but decided to check it out anyways when they opened the following morning. Shirin ended up being my consultant and was nicer in person than on the phone. I knew it was her from the previous day because I recognized her voice. Shirin is knowledgeable. And worked hard to help me find a dress and discuss alteration options. She told me that alterations only take a few weeks because they are done in house or something, so thats good to hear. They also have alot of bridesmaid dresses. Eva's itself is a complete dump. Their old carpet is coming up off the floor, their dress presentation is greatly lacking, and the set up is old and gaudy. On the bright side they had great deals, a lot to choose from , affordable dresses, and allegedly fast alterations. Its not the worst place if you can get past the customer service and appearance. read more

I purchased a flower girl dress from Evas about 5 weeks before my wedding. The sales associate couldn't tell me when exactly it would be in, but I was promised that if I paid a rush fee the dress would be here in plenty of time and that she would call as soon as it arrived. I became concerned when I still hadn't heard from them with only 10 days to go before the wedding. The first time I called, the woman I spoke with could not locate the order and I didn't have my receipt with me to give her the order number. She told me she would call me back. Within the hour, I located the receipt and called her back to provide her with the order number and sales associate. Again, she could not locate the order and I was told she would call me back. I still had not heard from her by the next afternoon, so I called again. This time I spoke to the owner of the shop who informed me that the dress was on back order and would not arrive in time for the wedding. Needless to say, with only 9 days to spare I was upset. The owner told me she was going to have her seamstress alter the floor model that we tried on when we were there and that I would only owe a portion of the remaining balance. The discount she offered was roughly 15%. I was not happy with that because first of all, it was a floor model that who knows how many kids have tried on. Anyone in the business knows that once something has been 'handled' it is no longer new (or worth anywhere near the new value) and I would certainly consider a floor sample handled. Second, I was even more upset with the fact that I had to contact them THREE times before they could even locate my order, let alone inform me that it would not be in in time for my wedding. I felt this was gross negligence on their part with only 9 days to spare before the event. I was left with very limited options. That's not all. In the meantime, my mother in law called the manufacturer directly who informed her that (while they could not give out information about orders placed through businesses) the dress was not on back order and in fact in stock in their warehouse. When I brought this information to the owner, she stated simply that either they or I were misinformed. To be honest, given the fact that that I had to contact evas three times before anyone could even locate my order, it sounded very much to me like the order got lost and someone forgot to place it. Of course they would never admit this. On the plus side, when I did pick up the dress, i was satisfied. They had it cleaned and the seamstress did a nice job on the alterations. I still don't feel that I was given appropriate compensation given the amount of hassle I had with this dress. The total discount I received was barely 20%, and i had to argue for that. I don't usually complain and I'm not in the habit of trying to finagle discounts, but in this case i felt it was completely warranted . Given the fact that the original product I ordered was not delivered, and that I had to contact them multiple times for anyone to inform me of this with such little time to spare, I felt was unacceptable. While I did end up with a beautiful dress, I would be wary to trust them with my business again. If you deal with them I would keep track of your receipts and stay on top of your order. Don't assume it will be there if they said it would or wait for them to contact you. read more
