I'm almost positive The Buckle isn't monitoring their reviews online. My boyfriend loves their jeans and they have an awesome variety that should make buying several pairs of high end jeans easy! The selection is great and they are very high quality, so you actually can't go wrong with the product. So what's the real problem if their jeans are almost unbeatable? How could a store that offers stylish pants that are durable, and a great fit for most people be a problem? Behold... the complete bulls mess.... Their sales associates are tactless, overly aggressive and it comes across as sheer desperation. A few months ago, I treated my boyfriend to a pair of jeans. The sales associate tried to whew me to the other side of the store to buy women's clothes, no thanks. I get to the register to pay for the pair of jeans and the cashier says,"None for you?" (Blinks) It was nearly impossible to miss your 8 sales associates trying to force me to buy. I don't say any of that by the way, I just politely say no. So I went back in last weekend and I made the mistake of browsing the tables where the women's pants were hanging. 1st sales person loudly professes,"We have over 60 styles of women's jeans! Here's a pair that would look good on you." Hands me jeans that I couldn't fit. I'm browsing the rack holding these jeans because I don't want to put them down right away. She comes back with a second pair of jeans a size smaller! I turn to her and say,"I actually don't wear skinny jeans. I only wear boot cut or pants that aren't tapered to the ankle." She's like,"Oh, you could fit these they stretch." She stands there stretching these jeans with her hands. (Blinks in complete shock) So you are just going to completely ignore everything I just said and try to sell me some pants I have just clearly communicated to you that I don't want? I don't say a word because the issue wasn't that I couldn't fit them, I don't want to squeeze into tight pants. A moment later another sales associate comes over and says,"I know you are just talking to (whatever her name was), we have over 60 styles of jeans these would look great on you, and they stretch she's opening and closing the waist of the jeans. I look at the pants and call out the size these are way too small for me. I can't fit this. I can't even fit the ones in my hand, so I know I can't fit that! She's like ummm they can fit you. You will be surprised how much they stretch. She fails to acknowledge I'm holding pants I don't want that I think are too small. She also doesn't address how annoyed I am that I was given three pair of pants I didn't ask for in the wrong size in less than 5 minutes. At any moment a skilled or even remotely decent sales person would've said,"What size do you wear? Maybe I can help you find something you'd like or point you to where it is?" Customers don't care if you have over 60 styles of jeans if you don't carry the size and style that they want to wear. Consultative selling is something they've had 0 experience in so they sell you so hard without knowing what you want. They don't even know how to start a conversation and get the right information out of you to sell you something you could want. My guess is Buckle has a terrible training program that doesn't teach associates how to ask targeted questions. They wouldn't leave me alone and they couldn't point me to the kind of jeans I asked about. My boyfriend bought a pair of jeans and a few shirts and the cashier said,"Who helped you?" I remembered the name of the first sales person and I said her name. I felt sorry for the sales associates, I imagine it's a dog race on an endless track. read more

Previous comments regarding the "they convince you and probably work off commission" are correct. I mean they do approach you and get you to look at what they recommend which is great for when you need ideas but if you are just browsing it can be a little overwhelming. Just make sure you let them know "I'm just looking I will come get you if I need help". That's really it, I've said it and it's worked for me. I do wish they didn't do this as I'd buy more if they didn't - but like I said it works for some people. Love the clothes, love the customer service! VERY high pressure sales. I just want to browse! I feel like I can't do this at this store. If I come in here just to see what new selections they have for the season, the employees literally hand me 2 or 3 pairs of jeans and beg me to try them on. Even if you say you're just looking, you can see the employees watching your every move. HOWEVER When I do come in here wanting to actually buy something, the employees are a great help. I would go to them, tell them my budget (budget at least $80, preferably $100), and they'd help me pick out a great outfit. They're like your own personal shoppers. I often have trouble finding clothes that match perfectly, but the employees help me find outfits that match, and even give me a few options that our out of my comfort zone. If you're looking for a new look, the employees will help you. The clothing selections vary from stylish to extremely douchey. Make sure you tell the employees "no Affliction, no American Fighter," or they will push those brands on you. The BKE brand is usually pretty good. The jeans fall apart a lot, though. Buckle is good if you have money to spend. If you just want to browse, go somewhere else. The employees won't leave you alone. If Buckle employees/management read this, please be less pushy on customers, especially if they are avoiding eye contact with you. That usually means they want to be left alone. read more

I luv westernized fashion, which is why I used to spend so much time at the store. However, employees are payed by commission, which means they are happy to throw all the merchandise at you, as long as you buy it. I have received remarks from employees such as, "oh he's back again," and I took it kinda personal. If I want to return something, I'm going to. Sorry you didn't make the extra $3. I don't return things often either, so I thought that was kind of left of them to say that. Overall, the fashion is perf, but the service could be worked on. read more

I have shopped at Buckle Orland Square for several years and always enjoyed the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Boy have things changed. 12/30/19...second time in a month that I couldn't get anyone to assist me in the store. Plenty of people on the floor, no one interested in helping me 2nd time in a month I put the clothes down I was interested in purchasing and walked out. read more

I LOVE THE BUCKLE! The employees are absolutely amazing. They helped me find a couple different jeans! My favorite was the Buckle blacks! SOOO MANY JEANS! I wish I bought them all. I am never going back to American Eagle for jeans. read more

I was looking for something to buy for a date night with hubby so it worked well for me! I went into at least 5 stores prior and found nothing. Here they helped me find several adorable shirts. I didn't have time to try them on as I had to pick up my kids from school and was running out of time. I will try them on today and return those I don't want. I am picky. Plus I've put on a few pounds that I'm not happy about (and fighting to loose - I don't want to buy more "fat" clothes). Their prices range from $30 to about $50 for tops/shirts. At least they have adorable stuff which is hard to find! read more

I've never shopped or even browsed at a Buckle store before at all because of their reputation for being expensive. I finally decided to go see for myself if $100 jeans were really any different than $20 jeans. Granted I went in with the intention to buy a pair so I didn't mind the attention from the sales people. In fact I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with Alex who approached me right away. He was super knowledgable and clearly knew everything about all the jeans. He really helped me dial in the right fit and style and made it such a fun positive experience for me. I appreciate that level of service and expertise especially when spending that kind of money. As a result I ended up buying two pair and got a free watch! My verdict on expensive jeans: I'm 100% happy with them, they are way more flattering on me than cheaper jeans and I feel great wearing them. I don't think it's necessary to have twenty pairs or anything but I am glad I bought these :) read more

Never in my life would I think of spending that much on a piece of clothing, unless it's my wedding day. Only gone to browse, and yet....try this..this is new...ect. CAN I BREATHE, they're nice and I get it's their job. Just because of the pushy sales I don't go to this location. I prefer the joliet mall. Still the times I have wanted to spent the money they never have my size jeans... But can order them. No thanks I want them in stock, what if those don't fit either... I ordered a purse offline for my moms birthday, and the zipper is so hard to use that, she doesn't use it. read more

This location is awful. The sales reps. work on commission and are so terribly annoying, I understand that this is their job, however there is a more tactful way of attaining results. I have gone to the Lombard location as well and have found the sales associates to be better trained in handling and consulting clients. Much better people and customer service skills than the Orland location. I will not be returning to the Buckle store in Orland Park. read more
