I've tried to come for my niece prom for a dress rental. The place is really hard to find. Even the security couldn't locate the place for us. I called the owner she declined my call and said she was on the phone and to text her. I let her know that I'm at the address but can't seem to find the correct store front. She never responded. After 25 minutes of walking around trying to find it and multiple text the owner never responds. I traveled a hour to get here and this is how she treats her customers. Hard to find at first. Really, really cool building this business is housed in. Let's just say Jennifer of Frockshop is as reputable a business owner as they come. We had the bright idea to stop in. Found a dress. Then noticed a noticeable hole. Our event was the same day. I Emailed Jennifer pictures. She responded right away, stating not have only would she cover the cost of rental, but would cover alteration and send out a discount card for our use, if we decided to use her cute shop again. I produced a local eco-fashion show with a small team of amazing volunteers. Our event coordinator found The Frock Shop and was getting a dress from them for our event. She thought that I might like getting a dress from there that was more special than any ones I had myself. (I was grossly under-prepared for my own outfit as I was engrossed in other parts of the event.) I visited their space and really had a great time AND found a great dress. I went in for one dress but ended up getting a different one. The owner was really helpful in giving me advice on the correct dress and trying them on. The rental prices were very reasonable. The range of styles was very great. There were not a lot of choices in my size but you can tell the business is really starting to grow. I am excited for my next dress. I love this place! I needed a dress for a friend's wedding but did not want to spend a lot of money. I got an amazing dress by Gorgeous Couture and got soooo many compliments on it!!! I spent 50 bucks and I could not be happier!!! I am telling everyone! The owner Jen was extremely helpful as well as accommodating when I was picking out a dress. The selection is vast they have something for all sizes! I love that they get new dresses in all the time and if you are friends with them on Face Book you can vote on which new dresses they should get in! I HAD AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I was a little nervous about renting a dress and I searched and searched for places in LA, since that's where I'm from. I found nothing I was happy with. Nothing couture enough. My engagement party was quickly approaching and I didn't want to buy another dress that I would wear once and just leave hanging in the closet. ...and that's when I found FROCK SHOP- I called Jennifer and she was just so pleasant and easy to work with. I got my dress a day late but UPS is to blame for that. She sent me 2 sizes- and they both fit well. Her staff is so easy to communicate with. They helped me determine that the dress I was ordering would fit nicely and it did! I felt like such a princess on the night of my engagement party. I received so many compliments. My whole look came together the way I had imagined and I felt great. My fiance was able to find a suit jacket that matched exactly. We looked great- if I may say so myself. :) I don't think I'm ever purchasing a dress again. Going straight to Frock Shop from now on. My daughter decided to go to three proms and said yes before talking to us! In the age of Instagram, twitter, snap chat etc...these girls are NEVER going to wear these dresses again! The Frock Shop is the most brilliant idea, and I'm so glad I found it. Thank you, Google! I'm not the sentimental type, and we were trying to keep wedding costs down, so I didn't want to spend tons of money on a dress I wasn't going to keep anyways. Enter The Frock Shop. A new rent-a-dress start up business. Pure brilliance. Jennifer was great. I contacted her, told her what kind of dress I was looking for, and she sent me photos from her collection. We scheduled an appointment for me to come try on dresses. The Frock Shop is currently (spring 2011) operating out of a storage facility (points for being practical and unconventional!), but Jennifer had her units set up like a little boutique. I had been to various boutiques and budget bridal stores. This was the first time I tried on a dress I didn't want to take off. BEAUTIFUL. I loved it immediately. Then she told me the rental price, and I loved it even more. $125 for the dress, cleanings included. $25 for alterations. Yes, I was allowed to alter a RENTAL dress. Like I said: brilliance. The seamstress is far (Tinley Park), but for that price, I can't complain. Everything went smoothly getting the dress for my wedding, and everyone said I looked amazing. If you're practical and penny-pinching, but still want to feel like a million bucks, I highly recommend this place. read more
