Would you believe a friend purchased me a $60 orchid from Eva's and almost instantly the flowers fell off? I am not joking within 2 days healthy bulbs would just fall. I have a gorgeous array of house plants and flowers that cover my apartment from various distributors - majority from Trader Joe's !!! So you mean to tell me a $6 orchid from Trader Joe's last longer than a $60 orchid from a boutique flower shop in Manhattan? The best part is when we went to go address the issue the manager Alex was rude, and did not stand by his policies or his products. Apparently there is a 1 week return policy (no where to be stated), but on the desk there was a 24 hour return policy paper. So which is it? I mean what a ridiculous policy, you mean to tell me we should be expected for our plants or flowers to die after 24 hours of purchase? That doesn't sound too reassuring. We took the orchid my friend purchased me back within two weeks and there was nothing he could do for us except tell me that the plant "may" grow back which was advice a 3rd grader could've given me. I take pride in my greenery and am huge plant lover and enjoy covering my apartment with all living things but this orchid was never sold to me living it was sold to me dead. I was walking around the neighborhood and was captivated by the displays outside. I decided to take a gander and browse the selection as one of the sales people came to ask if I needed help, to which I responded that I was browsing. The selection was small but great and the displays were well-kept. Things went swimmingly until I needed to take a call to coordinate with my friend regarding our moving out process. I had to answer a few questions on a call for four minutes but that must have bothered the purple-haired staff member. She progressively blasted Led Zeppelin's Black Dog to uncomfortably loud levels--levels suited for a college dorm party as opposed to a florist Muzak selection. While it was a great choice for music, I got the feeling that she were trying to drown out my conversation and force me outside. Even the sales associate gestured to her that it was too loud to hear. Yes this was a speculation, but the moment another patron walked in, the music was inaudible. Noted. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and chose a nice peace lily. The staff member tending to me was not confident in his answer when I asked for the price. I also asked about the lily's general care. He responded by suggesting watering every ten days and direct sunlight, which I knew to be wrong as direct sunlight burns the plant. I bounced my question to purple-hair and she responded with watering every 4-5 days and when I asked foow up questions, it appear as if she didn't even want to be there much less respond. Even when I asked about the plant food, she had a dismissive demeanor and a patronizing tone. In summary, this place is great for window shopping or getting ideas of what you want. Plants are nice but overpriced, I guess the overhead goes to blasting music for the staff members' leisure. I certainly hope Ms. Purple Hair is not the namesake of this florist! Let it be known that her acrid gestures outshine the otherwise beautiful selection of plants. And poor mate, the sales associate just have been new. Not sure what the staff's problem is, especially this particular guy, Alex. I live a few blocks away and always stop by for plant, vase or flowers. I have a friendly and upbeat attitude and a kind person. Each and single time, I question why I keep coming back as I get treated as If I am not welcome there. Last weekend I came in and got a couple vases and an outdoor plant which died the very next day. I have a wonderful relationship with all neighborhood florists but this one puzzles me every time. I was a customer that felt robbed after I left $65 for 3 pumpkins and a few little things to decorate my store I own a block away , tried to introduce myself and they didn't care to meet me , after I asked for a small amount of flowers to put in a vase I have at my store they picked out 3 small flowers and said that I can have that for $15. As I said I own a business in the area I know how much things cost but no deals , what you see is what you get, pumpkins are cheaper over at ace hardware the guys at the corner of 76th selling flowers are cheaper and nicer, over all no customer service, I guess costs are so high cause you have a staff of 5 people sitting down doing NOTHING! read more

I came into this place 3 times and asked for the price of a particular plant. It changed 3 times fluctuating between $75. I think all the plants should be tagged with prices so customers can shop on their own without the need to have a store employee follow along. Other than that, the store has a good variety od smallerindoor and outdoor plants. They are the better ones, not like what you find at supermarkets. They are a bit pricey though, but the employees will show you how to take care of them. There is actually only 2 employees and only one can answer pricing questions. I bought a little one for my loft and am satisfied. Overall, I didn't find anything spectacular about the plants or service. I will try their arrangements next time. read more

A client delivered the most beautiful orchid I have ever seen to my apartment as a thanks. I have seen a lot of orchids in my day but this one was amazing. I was going out and in a bit of a rush when they arrived so I asked my doorman to just leave them in the lobby sitting area until I came back and when I returned he said not one person walked by without commenting on how incredible they were. They are thriving and I have gotten days and days of joy from looking at them. There are buds on them so it looks as though they will last for a long time. Thank you to Eva's Garden and to my client! My aunt loves beautiful flowers. She is a classy lady, has lived a long full life and has given dearly to this planet and to us, her loved ones. When I give her flowers, I want them to be the best available anywhere. The thing is, she does too, and she deserves it. The problem is, I am all the way in Los Angeles. I had been using her florist (on York) for years but more than once she told me the bouquet was a little small and once she told me that some of the flowers were wilted. She continues to use them but goes back and forth with them. This year I thought... no. There has got to be a great and consistent place out there that I can count on. Well, I think I found that place. My aunt just loved the flowers I just sent her from Eva's and is still talking about them now, two weeks later. I work close by and decided, after passing this spot regularly, to come in to get some flowers for a friend of mine who just had surgery. A young lady helped me out and she was super knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to get a beautiful arrangement to bring to my friend for a reasonable price. I use to live right around the corner from this location and they always had the most BEAUTIFUL flowers outside. Competitively priced especially for being in the UES and as a small business. Because of this, I ended up getting 2 plants instead of 1. They are both thriving, luscious and stunning!! I since moved from the area out of state(COVID!) however I will absolutely go out of my way to come back here when I visit again. I still highly recommend this establishment for my other plant friends who live in the city and are visiting from outside the city. I never thought the first review I'd ever write on here would be about a florist, but here goes. I was walking home from work on V-Day and decided to drop $60 as a splurge. I was very impressed with the speed and quality of the bouquet they put together for my girlfriend. I brought them straight home and she put them right in water. Loved them! By the next morning they went from picture 1 to picture 2. Embarrassed and disappointed, I brought one of the hydrangeas back to the manager. Instead of apologizing he told me I must not have taken care of them correctly and that he wouldn't replace them unless I brought the whole bouquet because he would lose money by not being able to send them back to his wholesaler. Another hour of my life later, I brought the whole bouquet at which point he told me I must not have put them in water, again without apologizing and despite me showing him the picture of them in water my girlfriend had taken 30 minutes after I bought them because she was so happy. Eventually he told me that he couldn't care less about his reviews because he'd been in business for 41 years, but he agreed to me make another bouquet. He didn't have the same flowers anymore but the replacement was undoubtedly nice. This review is more about the initial quality and then the fact that he accused me instead of taking responsibility, making me walk all the way home in the freezing cold and back with wilted flowers just to do the right thing. We'll see how long the replacements last. read more

I am picky picky picky when it comes to flowers and Eva's Garden created three gorgeous bouquets based on the flowers that Alex and I chose together. Vibrant, lush, full, the perfect combination of purples, pinks and white including fuchsia peonies, roses, fresh lilacs and white stock--absolutely beautiful! I gave Alex two short vases and one tall one to fill yesterday for an event today. Delivery was on time, so many guests commented on how gorgeous the flowers were and the price was right! I'm not sure what the other people are complaining about but my experience with them was nothing short of excellent. I came into the store on 2/16 in a bit of hot water with the mrs. I explained to them what I wanted, what colors, what kind of flowers, type of vase, and price range and that I needed it later that day. In 2 hours time they gave me a fantastic bouquet that is still alive and well as we speak (and under my budget). For the price I paid I would have been happy with a bouquet half the size as the one I received but they went above and beyond. Truly. I want to make it clear I don't make any $$ off this, I just feel like Mark and Ryan are unfairly making this place look like something it's not. And why would they both feel the need to post? I dunno anyway, I do highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back... hopefully under better circumstances next time ha. read more

$60 orchid = DEAD after 3 weeks of proper care. Brought this orchid back and spoke with Alex who informed me that Eva's Garden Florist does NOT stand behind their products and services, nor will take any dead flowers back after 1 week of purchase, even though their return policy is 24 hours? What plant or flower could possibly die in 24 hours? Mind you, the 'One Week Dead Flower Return Policy' is not stated anywhere, Alex told me that is just common sense. Unfortunately, I am not a horticulturist and did not know the rules of returning dead plants. So, after 21 days of proper care the overpriced orchid is now dead and 'might' come back to life according to Alex, the horticulturist. Mind you, this was for a birthday gift. I am mortified and buying my dear friend another Orchid, obviously not from Eva's. I wouldn't use Eva's services if it was the last florist in Manhattan. It is a shame, I send a lot of gifts to a lot of people, and I will most definitely be using another floral vendor moving forward. read more

I'm in California and I lost my Uncle who lives in New York. I ordered an arrangement for a Memorial mass and chose Eva's because it was the closest to the church. I ordered a white floral basket based on a picture from Eva's website. Due to the pandemic, the Mass was live streamed. It showed only the altar and pulpit. There was a table in front of the altar and there was a beautiful white flower basket on the floor below the picture, which I assumed was someone else's contribution because it was so large and beautiful. Shortly after the service, I got a receipt for the delivery from Eva's and it showed the flowers were delivered at 11:30, a half hour after the service had ended. I immediately called Eva's to complain that they were late but I was assured they were delivered before the service. I didn't know if I could believe them until today, one day after the service, I got an email from my niece who had attended the service. She said the flowers I sent were beautiful and she sent me a picture. To my delight, they were the flowers that were visible below the portrait of my Uncle!. They were more beautiful than I could have hoped, so much so that they were front and center below my Uncle. I could also read the card which read precisely as I had dictated.
