Right when I came in I was greeted right away by the the friendly workers. I instantly noticed the modern decor in the shop which I love. I ordered the chewy bowl which is an acai base mixed with peanut butter...so good! I really love how you can go crazy with the toppings and it's all included in the flat $8 price. It makes it such a great value compared to other places that nickel and dime for acai bowls. Not only do they have acai, they have other bases such as pittaya (spell check?). While I was waiting for my bowl, I went next door jewelry gift store. When I picked up my bowl there were topping I did not ask, one of them was grapes that I have sensitivity if ingested. The topping I asked was kiwi, blueberries, rasberies, goji berries and agave. Instead of blueberries and raspberries I got grapes and strawberries. I asked to remove the toppings and replace with the one I ordered. The girl with long dark hair and glasses did not apologize but saying that I order the wrong topping. She was using her fingers to remove it. Then she put some the toppings I asked. I asked if she could add agave then she said she already did. If she remove the topping the there is no agave. She appeared to be bothered by my request. I preceded out to my car and took a spoon full of the bow when I felt my mouth was full of grapes. I looked at the bowl with my cell phone light since it was dark outside. Employee did not remove the toppings almost at all just added new ones. I returned back but the door was closed. I knowed., the same girl came by the door. I told her what was wrong. She refused to replace my order instead she said that I ordered the wrong toppings, she can show me the receipt and she pointed the fingers on the business hours. I asked her name she said she is not obligated to give me her name. I told her am allergic to grapes she said I should have told her that that it is common sense to do so. I threw the bowl away. Went to Everbowl after a dental procedure for a smoothie. Got a smoothie and overnight oats (for dinner since I can't chew). I noticed the date on the oats was Aug 8 and today is Aug 12. When I asked for something that wasn't expired the young lady making the smoothies jumped in over the cashier and said they were fresh. I pointed out the day to which she snapped"I have eaten them two week past that date - they are fine". I asked if it was even legal to sell them past the date and she snapped at me again and said "they are fine we can sell them through tomorrow". I was in pain and didn't want to argue so I left. I am so disappointed this used to be my all time favorite place there were unlimited toppings and freshly blended bases. It has completely gone down hill. They no longer blend their bases and just use some pre-made sorbet that tastes store bought and disgustingly sweet. They have updated this location to what the company calls "everbowl 2.0"-which is supposed to mean its an improvement, but in reality it is a deal breaker and thats it for me with this place. They had a great product, healthy and delicious-they have a following and are opening up new locations all of the time. This is a confounding and disappointing move to make at this point. When i ordered on my online app today, it suddenly made me pick a size, thats new, but so what?, i was happy to go with medium, saw it was smaller than the original size and more expensive to boot, but again, i was ok with that-this is a lot of good ingredients (less than before, but a lot) and fresh fruit, and that isnt cheap. It looked the same inside when i got it home, but a few bites in, i realized the base was totally different than it used to be. THIS is the final and worst part of this "2.0" crap they are now pushing. I loved the tart and freshly made açaí base, the tart contrast with the sweet fruit and goji berries, so good-but this new açaí base is super smooth, almost like honey is in it, and it's sickeningly sweet. Like, disgustingly sweet. I started looking all over their social media accounts to try and figure out what was new and why-and there are many, many customers asking this same question, but the company responds to NOTHING. So after some more digging, it appears they are pushing a pre made base now, pre frozen and just as bad as any you'd buy at the grocery store, which was the very reason my daughter and i stopped making our own and started going to everbowl. They are doing this to likely make more money as well as save time as employees no longer have to mix the bases fresh in store. I'm out, and I'm bummed they made this change...,so, in conclusion they now charge you more for much less, which is actually a blessing in disguise because what you bought likely doesn't taste good anyways. read more
