I've lived and worked near the Golden Egg my whole life and have never been until today. Will definitely be back! Before- love the fruit and whipped cream plates! This restaurant knows kids, and I was so appreciative. They even brought one for my 13 year old so she wasn't left out. Drinks - hot (but not too hot) chocolate served in tall mugs with whipped cream and sprinkles. Need I say more? Food - apple pie waffle for kid #1 - delicious! Kid #2- Biscuits and gravy - such delicious sage! We all had some and it was perfect. Kid #3 only wanted sourdough toast, and it was exactly what it should be. Maryland potato casserole- I had asked before ordering if they were large potato chunks (yes), so I knew what to expect. Our waitress let me know I could sub since it was a slow Wednesday morning, but I wanted to try it as nature intended. The ingredients were magic and very well cooked. I just don't like large chunks of potato and never will. The toppings (bacon/mushroom/spinach/onion/hollandaise/Swiss) were perfect and plentiful! Service- exceptional! From treating my kids like humans to accommodating us with an extra plate 'just in case', it was fantastic from start to finish. She knew I was unsure about the potatoes and even followed up to ask if I wanted it remade, which I absolutely did not because there was nothing off at all except my large-chunked-potato-aversion. I wish I could remember her name because she was awesome! Even the other staff nearby were friendly. Good vibes all around! We are just staying the night in the local area and in the morning wanted to eat some breakfast. Looking around we saw this place with over 90 different options of omelettes one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip for this spring. I had the Italian sausage and mushroom omelette. My partner had the Benedict the best he's ever had. It was sweet that they brought out some whipped cream and fruit for the kids to start off their meals. A local diner made for family friendly place really nice service. It had a very country feel similar to Cracker Barrel and a lot of things to look at. They had some metal roosters and an objects in the front which made it really fun for the kids it was a fun environment to begin as we ended our vacation to head home. read more

We have gotten quickly seated every time we went and they also prep a small portion plate for our son - plate of fruit, whip cream, and crackers, while we're reviewing the menu. High chairs are available. Parking has never been a problem the two times we went. We felt quite at home every time we went, so this is one of our frequent locations to go to for brunch. You can kind of tell who the regulars are where they keep up with each other's lives, but they still pay attention to everyone. The price for the meal seemed pretty high for items that cost so little to put on a plate at home. I get the everything costs more, but I want it to at least be better than what I can put together and this was not the case here. The eggs seemed watered down and were pale (lower quality), pancakes were slightly burned, and the hash browns didn't show a single speck of seasoning. Eggs Benedict on an overly toasted slice of wheat bread. TOTALLY WRONG. Supposed to be on an English Muffin. Sides like hash browns have been drastically cut in half. No more of the "hearty servings. And the prices are as high as a high end restaurant. Service was as good as it get's for the small staff. Especially for 14 people. This is a great breakfast spot! I had the ham and eggs and "The Mash" which was basically hobo eggs with cheese. The staff were very friendly and had no problems coming out and making friends with dinners. An old timer Marine came out from behind the kitchen and played host to just about everyone in the restaurant. It was a very hospitable atmosphere and it seemed like the regulars knew him. I really loved having breakfast here this morning. This place is charming. Large menu, which I love. I had the #71. It was an omlet with bacon, green onion, avocado, tomato and cheese. It was, hands down, the best omlet I ever had. So fresh and so full of ingredients. Amazing. My wife had the eggs Benedict and we shared a biscuit and gravy. My wife said her food was good. Story time: on my way home from the doctor, I stopped for breakfast at IHOP, then I was like nah lemme support a local business... So I left and went to Sunny Side Kitchen, the best breakfast sandwich place in the whole country (according to me and also Yelp) But it was closed So I went to Delight of France But the line was like an hour long So I went to this place, Golden Egg Omelet house because some guest at Red Robin 4 years ago told me I should come here for cheap mimosas -- said she was a server at Golden Egg. And it is the CUTEST quirkiest weirdest little place, and the chef, an exuberant middle aged black man, comes out and loudly greets every single table like a jolly Santa Claus (there's like 50 tables). And he comes up to me and is like "hey man you look just like my son!" And I give the very generic answer "is he good looking?" And he goes "MAN! He gets his looks from his father whatchu think!" And the servers are all super super kind and outgoing. This place is a magical local brunch spot They also have 90 omelets on their menu which was very intimidating Update, my omelet has arrived and she is so full of happiness and goodness, I have never had an omelet that was this full of ingredients before. We've been going here for many years. Today my food was extremely poor and the response to my complaint was as even worse. The veggies and meat within the omelette was cold and under cooked. I was told 'we've been doing this for 43 yrs'. Was some sort of attempt to shut down my comments. The broccoli was not cooked and hard. The manager was really sweet. But I heard an older server (I won't use her name) tell the hostesses to go ask people if they want coffee and to stop standing around-in a mean tone. The hostesses had already asked everyone many times if they wanted coffee. A customer also asked to change her order and the server said I'll have to remove your entire ticket and turned around as if she was very annoyed. The customer looked upset that she responded like that. I feel bad for the employees who have to work in that environment. There were only two servers and it took soooo long for our orders and food. Saturday morning investment club breakfast with the PRIC's. We meet at Incredible Egg Omelette House in Escondido. We get seated and drink order was Johnny-on-the-spot. After reviewing the menu we place our order. I order the Avocado, Italian Sausage and Cheese Omelette with Rye Toast. We barely touch our drinks and breakfast comes to the table. The omelette is good with plenty of avocado and Italian sausage. Rye toast is rye toast but I like it. Don't know if it is worth $16+ but close enough to warrant 4 stars. Service was outstanding and also received 4 stars. If you are an omelette guy like me, this place is the place to be.
