Escondido has scored another gem in their up and coming dining scene. My husband and I came in for lunch last Sunday (04/19/26). We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was very friendly and explained a few menu items for us as he dropped off our water. We ordered: The Smashed Cucumber Salad, Eggdrop Soup, Pork and Scallion dumplings, and Kung Pao chicken. First out the cucumber salad. It was so good, I could have eaten my own weight in it. It was amazing. The egg drop soup my husband ordered, he said was very delicious, but as I personally dislike egg drop soup, so I'm taking his word for it. The pork and scallion dumplings and kung pao chicken were so good! I can highly recommend these dishes. We loved the food so much we revisited today (4/26/26). We ordered the hot & sour soup, dan-dan noodles, and the 3 delight fried rice. Once again everything was amazing! The Dan Dan noodles were the best I've ever had! The dining room is a bit lackluster and plain, but I'm willing to overlook that since the food was amazing. I will be visiting Dumplings N More again and often! If you love really excellent Chinese cuisine, this place is definitely worth a try!!! read more

Located in Escondido CA. This business opened around early 2025. It used to be a chinese food place too, but now it is even better with new owners. We ate here around December 2025. My husband really likes the friend chicken here. It is chinese style with lighter batter, pepper style with some jalapenos. The spicy level is 3 out or 10, don't worry too much. We ordered black bean fish, salt n pepper chicken, string beans and fried chicken (called salt and pepper chicken 8 pieces). I would say try everything here. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Every dish was great. For 2 persons, we ordered 4 dishes, and have left overs for next 2 meals. There is plenty of parking. Service is awesome! read more

My friends and I have been there twice and each time we all agreed it is one of our favorite places for lunch. What impressed me the most iis the freshness of the wrappers and noodles. They are made in house. You can watch them made the dough for the wrappers and noodles through a window. Next time I will try the fried chicken! read more

My mom has been raving about this place so we decided to give it a try and order takeout. No one answered the phone so we decided we'd go to the store nearby for drinks and stop in after to see if we could order in person. The restaurant looked spacious and clean. The staff promptly greeted us and handed us menus to order from with no emotional expression. No smile nor smidgen of warmth which made my boyfriend and I feel unwelcome. My takeaway is: if they don't answer the phone - they're busy and don't want you to stop in. 15 minutes later our food was ready and we were out of their hair. Despite the awkwardness ordering, the food was amazing. Everything we got was delicious, there is nothing to critique. Everything was well prepared, fresh, and hit the spot on a cold night. Recently ordered a tray of salt & pepper chicken wings and their Mongolian beef. The chicken rivals that of Golden Chopsticks and Royal Mandarin without the long drive to National City! The food here was really good and at a decent price. The slashed cucumbers were very flavorful and had a great taste to them. The pork and scallion dumplings were also really good. We also got the 3 meat noodles, which also was good. The portions were very nice and left us both full with leftovers. The staff were very nice and came to help often. The place was busy, and I wasn't surprised on why after I tried the food. I got salt and pepper chicken wings, juicy, seasoned, and a little tiny bite to them, crispy perfection. Rangoons with scallions, good price, crunchy, flavorful, the noodles with beef delicious, not overcooked at all and seasoned really well, the dumplings were delicious, not skimpy on the filling at all and they held together really well. I ordered two tao bubble lychee jelly teas as well. With all of this food it came out to $65!!! Which is really good for the value of the ingredients, taste, and portion I will 100% be coming back to try their other dishes because everything looked really good on the menu, and the stuff I saw other costumers get was fresh. Came very hungry with my daughter for lunch. We were able to sit down quickly as the restaurant wasn't too busy. Despite there being a QR code on the table someone was able to take our orders. We selected chicken fried rice, xiao long bao, beef and broccoli for dine in and got s&p wings and pork/scallion dumplings to go. Fried rice came out first and tasted great, seasoned perfectly so we were excited for our other entrees to arrive. My daughter ate up and enjoyed her dumplings. I was excited when I saw a dumpling place opening in Escondido, even though it was clear on the other side of town, meaning a 20-minute ride from our house, which is difficult to do in Escondido. I can be in RB faster than that. When we arrived at the Dumpling House, they were cleaning the windows with a ladder blocking the front door. It took several minutes before we could enter. Once inside we were seated immediately and they brought us menus, which are quite extensive. We ordered two dishes, Steamed Pork Dumplings with scallions and Stir-fried noodles with Shrimp. What followed is one of my pet peeves: When we order with two or more people, the food should arrive at the same time, not minutes apart, just like when you order soup or appetizers, they should arrive in order. Dumpling House, just like many newer outfits, simply does not get that concept. We go to share a meal, have a conversation, not just consume food and turn their table for them. Next, the very long noodles arrived with a standard fork. No serving utensils, like fork and spoon or tongues. When I asked for a spoon, the server looked at me somewhat perplexed and told me they don't have spoons - he brought out another fork. Now, this maybe cultural, but I doubt that, I have been to plenty of Asian restaurants of various backgrounds, Chinese, Thai, Fusion, and had serving utensils. If someone from Dumpling House actually reads this - "go buy some serving utensils" and teach your servers to bring out the food properly. Let's be clear: The dumplings were great; we were actually able to see someone shaping the dumpling dough, although we also saw them taking the dough out of a can, which looked like what you buy in a supermarket, so the dough is clearly not made from scratch. The noodles were also very good, but of a quality that can be had in any reasonably good sit-down Chinese restaurant. So, here's my bottom line: I you go specifically for dumplings, this is a good place to get them, but for a rounded Chinese experience, there are better places in Escondido, especially given the price point. read more

The food is delicious. I went with my husband and toddler. We ordered the walnut shrimp, a scallion pancake, soup dumplings, cream cheese wontons, and crushed cucumber salad We also got a peach black tea and a lychee slush. Everything was delicious. My toddler ate everything. He ate about half the cucumber salad, 2 shrimps, 1 wonton and 2 of the soup dumplings and 1 slice of pancake. My husband was impressed with the quality of the shrimp and how everything was fresh. The waiter was super friendly and played with my son. And I'm grateful he wasn't upset about the mess. My husband and I ordered the following to share: - garlic green beans - chicken & corn dumplings - pork & mushroom sticky rice siu mai - wontons in red chili oil - steamed rice We both loved the garlic green beans and chicken & corn dumplings. Both were cooked perfectly and had really good flavor. We both felt the pork & mushroom sticky rice siu mai was on the bland side. It wasn't horrible but we wouldn't order that one again. My husband really liked their spicy wontons. They are good but I'm not a fan of schezwan spice. Portions were good. We had leftovers that we took home. Wow! We were looking for some comfort food on a rainy day and we couldn't have picked a better place for dinner. The food was incredible we actually forgot to take a photo and no one was talking much cause we were too focused on the delicious food! The service was great, staff is very friendly and they saw our son struggle with chopsticks and were so sweet to help accomodate him with a chopsticks tool. Wow, I'm so glad Escondido has this great new restaurant! There is not any other like it that I know of in the city. As soon as I saw this was newly open, and after reading the Great reviews i knew i had to go. . Today was a gloomy rainy sort of day, perfect for some comfort food, so I decided to go with some friends and we all loved it! I have never been to Din Tai Fung but they have, and said it reminded them of that restaurant except the portions here are larger. The portions definitely were very large and meant for sharing. We ordered the green beans- which had a nice garlicky flavor, and tasted fresh. The Xiao long bao - which were good sized and had a tasty, flavorful broth inside with the pork. Egg, chive, and shrimp dumplings - I wasn't sure what to expect with these because of the flavor combinations, but they were very good as well. Spicy pickled fried rice - this had a good flavor to it, not too bland, and not too pickly, and contaimed a bit of minced pork and some vegetables. Soicy hot and sour soup - I dont usually eat this, but this one was good and the broth was thick and not too spicy. Coconut lava balls - these were nice and warm and gooey inside. I would definitely order all of these items again, but maybe not all at once since we were so full. One thing I noticed was the food temperature was perfect on everything we ordered. Nothing came out too hot or too cold. We also had a chance to taste the pan fried dumplings with beef, and the meat inside was so good and juicy, I'll definitely get these next time. We saw other customers with noodle dishes that look really good as well, and I can't wait to try one of those too. The restaurant inside isn't huge but it has several booths and table setups, and one large round table that could seat about nine people. I'm already planning a trip back with a bigger group. The service was also excellent. Everyone that came to our table was so nice, and helpful regarding the menu. The food came out quickly and they came back to check on us frequently. Not close to a more upscale ambience and location of Ding Tai Fung at UTC but this new Taiwanese Dimpling place in Escondido has a 4.5 star quality for their food in particular the XLB, rainbow dumpling, stir fried noodles and spicy wanton. But we are giving this place a 5 star because of the Coconut Lava Balls, a must have desert. Service is also 5 star. This did not fit our $50 budget for two but we ordered for a family of 5 just for us to taste the popular dishes. Our total billed for 5 items is only $68. Not bad. We ventured into this restaurant because of the high reviews. When we arrived we noticed there were no Asian patrons. This was our first red flag. The decor of this small restaurant is very basic with chairs that are too large for the tables, as a result many of the tables have tape reinforcement along the leg sides. The upholstery on each booth is poorly finished and looks cheap. The booths have a thin vinyl cover that has been stapled externally on the frame of the booth. Not sure if these are poor repairs or have been this way since opening. No real ambiance and tables do not have hot chili to customize your dumpling selection. Food: we ordered XLB, Salt & Pepper Wings, and General TSO's. The XLB dumplings are large, juicy, and tasty. However we found the dumpling skins thick and not as delicate as we like. The salt & pepper wings were decent but the actual chicken had little flavor as the chicken itself had no seasonings. The seasoning resides only in the dusting of the finished product. Our least favorite dish was the General TSO's which was very sweet and one note. There was no savory flavor to this dish nor was it spicy even though . It contained many dried red peppers. Overall summary: unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant. The dishes are large in quantity but the quality of the finished product is lackluster. Our favorite dumpling house in all of San Diego County is Ju Feng Yuan, in Scripps Poway. read more
