Just casually browsing for some Indian food around the area and stumbled across this hidden gem. Surprisingly this place was amazing. Service was okay and the buffet was closed but we also came on a Saturday afternoon. However the food was delicious. We got the chicken 65 biryani and the paneer butter masala and the house special momos and my stomach was happy. I've ordered delivery from here a few times now- I've tried the coconut gobi, gobi manchurian, vegetable pakoras, and vegetable biryani, all off of the vegan menu. Everything is pretty good and has strong flavor, the coconut gobi is definitely my favorite. The only thing I wasn't super impressed by was the pakora, but I think it's partially because they were delivered so they weren't as crispy as they would have been fresh. This is my favorite place to go as a Nepali!!! The servers are great. They also give papad if the waiting period is long. Their ambience is good. For those with dogs, they have outdoor seating. Their momo is top-tier. It's a MUST if you go there. Their titanic jhol momo lives upto its hype. If you want to try different types of momo, the platter is a great option. This place was really good before the recent remodel which was obviously focused on modernizing the kitchen and interior, similar to the San Jose location (which sucks). Before it was so ethnic, there was no need for order in the chaos of decorations and music, it felt as authentic as it can be. The staff made a huge part of that effort and feeling of authenticity, and after the remodel, it seems they had been "laid off" yet they seemed to have immediate replacements which seemed off to me since the San Jose location felt modern and focused on bringing in local tech office workers, the staff all looked the exact same in height, uniform, beards, hats, it was obviously the management's decision for appearance, and now the Mountain View location got the same treatment and now I can't help but feel like they laid off those friendly original staff to better fit their new "modern" aesthetic, but also the prices hiked a bit, interior is now blue and boring. This is somewhat biased but overall, my experience here use to be my favorite because of the delicious food, the amazing atmosphere and the absolutely amazing staff I'd call friends. Now it's a lost identity, the food had very minor tweaks which I do nit-pick about, it definitely tastes somewhat different and the prices have been raised and the friendly staff is gone, the whole atmosphere changes my experience which sucks. Had a nice time here. Be ready to wait around 45 minutes if you want tandoori momos. We tried the Jhol chicken momos, tandoori chicken momos, mango lassi, and naan. Naan was mid, but momos were pretty tasty (coming from someone who doesn't usually like them). Tandoori flavoring was done very well and momos were also spicy which was a plus. The service staff do not share the itemized bill with you before charging your credit card (they just verbally state what you had ordered) so you don't see the fees or gross tipping numbers until it's too late. Food is good, but can be inconsistent. But when it's good, it's really good. Open late into the night which is nice but seating can be limited during busy times due to the small location. The place feels like some fast-food joint with advertisements plastered all over the wall. The vibe surely takes you back home to Nepal. We dined here for an early dinner. We had 3 rounds of complementary chai. (trust me we kept asking for it. The chai was that good!) The momo was so fresh, piping hot with 2 styles of Nepali chutney, the chowmein came fresh with enough veggies and chicken, and the lollipop was crunchy! When I came to pay for my food which was $110, they said they would only honor 1 of the gift cards and then they said this is a new policy that started last week. Post- Shoreline concert dinner and the place was completely packed at 11pm (not with concert-goers, just the regular Wednesday night crowd). Some of the best naan I've ever had, but softer than some people's preference. Tikka masala curries a touch sweet and random pockets of spice in the biriyani needed raita. Saag paneer and goat curry were my favorites. Lassis and chai also very good. Live in Fremont, so the standard for Indian is quite high. All I can say is wow! I don't eat a lot of Indian and Nepalese food so I didn't know what to expect. My friends took the lead on ordering. The restaurant is small but the fit a lot of tables. I felt a little squished because the tables were so close to each other. It took a little while to get our food but I didn't mind because it was pretty busy. The samosa chat was absolutely delicious. Hard to find: It's in a business mall with just lots of brown buildings and you drive up and see a sign on the door. Decent Nepali-Indian fast food joint in Mountain View. Got there around 7:30 on a Friday evening for dinner with college friends and found the parking lot quite full. After squeezing into the last remaining spot, I joined my group, who had already ordered. I dug in, enjoying the spicy noodles and paneer already on the table, then filled my plate with tandoori momos that arrived, piping hot, from the kitchen. The chutneys which came with these had quite a kick to them, so I needed some soothing mango lassi, which was served promptly. More food arrived - plates of "California-style" fried rice and steaming Gobi Manchurian - but I was too full. So I caught up with my friends, listening to the nostalgic Bollywood music (70s - 80s - 90s) piping through the speakers, and reminiscing about the past. Dessert was Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun.
