The restaurant initially told me my order would take 10 minutes so I waited on the porch. I checked after 10 minutes and again after 15 minutes, but the order was not ready until approximately 25 minutes after I placed it. A customer who ordered after me received his food before I did. While eating the biryani, I found a short, visibly coarse hair in the food, lying across the egg and rice. I stopped eating immediately. I have attached a photo showing exactly how I found it. The restaurant told me that it would issue a refund, but I have not received the refund as of today. I understand that the refund and service issues may not fall within your jurisdiction, but I am including them as part of the incident record. My primary concern is the foreign hair and the restaurant's food-handling and sanitation practices. read more

This is a decent India restaurant with a variety of North indian and Indo-Chinese dishes. Biggest plus, in my opinion is that they special vegan menu as well. However , when I got a Vegan Jackfruit Biryani, they served the yogurt sauce ( raita ) with it too. So I hope employees are little better trained about Vegan food. Have tried a few other things like the Bagara Baigan ( Eggplant in peanut sauce), Tofu 65 (vegan) and few other dishes and generally they taste well. read more

I really love the food by Hyderabad dum biryani I usually get their family size panner 65 biryani and make it extra spicy. I really love their salad as well. The ambience of the place is pretty decent smaller of like a local restaurant ambience is fine. The service is good. I went to this restaurant since Mountain View parking was badly congested and was in a hurry, so I noticed this restaurant on Apple Maps with a 4.2 rating, so I ultimately gave it a try. The restaurant wasn't in a particularly good neighborhood and the appearance from the outside wasn't appealing. The interior was small and old and was short staffed with no bathroom. There was only one person on the counter and didn't speak and understand English too well. We sat down and he gave us our menus and we ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani mild spice, and some garlic naan. He gave us our plates which were unsanitary with multiple food stains and visible smears still on the plates. He also gave us our plastic utensils, napkins and a water pitcher with had some sort of mold inside so we didn't drink it. We also covered the plates with the napkins since we didn't want cross-contamination. The food arrived pretty quickly, but the portions were a bit small and overpriced. Overall, the food tasted decent, nothing special, but the mild spice was definitely not mild and was very spicy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place since of hygiene issues with not a great ambience and overpriced food, and recommend you go to one of the restaurants in downtown Mountain View. read more

Have ordered from this place probably about a half dozen times and previous experiences have been positive. Good butter chicken, paneer and biryani dishes. Service was friendly and portions were above average. Would have given 4 or 5 stars based on those visits. However, I'm not sure I can go back after the last takeout order. Ordered mild spice because we were sharing with a young child but everything was too spicy even for the adults. What's worse though, is that we ordered some palak paneer that had pieces of charred inedible pieces of something in it that made the whole meal garbage. We've ordered the palak paneer from here many times before and it was one of our favorite dishes. I hate to post such a negative review after so many positive experiences, but I can't believe the staff would serve this to thier customers. I honestly queston whether it was safe to eat and whether they would have served it to their own kids. Maybe this was a one time mistake, but I think they need to know this is unacceptable. I was going to give a 1-star review, but I'm giving 2 stars because of all the positve experiences I had here previously. It's a great value for $15.99 - however, they forgot the roti, which was disappointing. We had the pleasure of eating here twice. Once for dinner and once for brunch On Sunday. The brightest spot on our time in London happened to be our server Iamini! Very Poor service, meal took forever, added extra naan bread to go, and finally had to ask waitress where is it. it was on the counter waiting for her. She couldnt speak english well enough to describe the menu. i got an unexpected dish, the prices were high. It's a small place, so don't go here for a dine-in experience. We ordered takeout, and it was ready really quickly, which is always good. We got the Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, mutton sukka, egg hakka noodles, and gobi manchurian. I know ordering Indo-Chinese food from a biryani place can be hit or miss, but I gave it a try anyway. Surprisingly, the Indo-Chinese part of my order was pretty good, and I may go back here just to get that again. Biryani, on the other hand, was just about okay--not too great. Mutton sukka was also alright; it wasn't really sukka (dry), but it had a fair bit of gravy. My friend recommended Hyderabad Dum Biryani as an authentic chain for biryani, so we decided to try their Mountain View location. We got one Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani and one Paneer 65 Biryani, both with extra protein (chicken/paneer). The Chicken Dum Biryani was quite delicious - the rice has good flavors, and the chicken was very tender and well-marinated. For the price, they gave me lots of chicken. I was pretty satisfied with the chicken biryani until I tried the paneer 65 - it's omg-level of tasty!!! The paneer was probably the best I've had so far - spicy and savory, packed with flavors. I was shocked at how flavorful the paneer was, given how hard it is to marinate paneers. The rice in Paneer 65 also tasted more flavorful than the one in chicken dum biryani. Indgo is a nice spot to grab some Indian takeout food in Mountain View! I tried the Tikka Masala Combo, which came out to $18.59 total. The Tikka Masala was nice and creamy and the side vegetarian dish, Palak Paneer, was equally filling and flavorful. The combo also came with lots of rice and bread to round out the plate. The food was prepared quickly, and from ordering to leaving I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and organized as well. Yummmm. Came here for an early dinner and there was no one. You can sit anywhere. The space is pretty small, but provides what you need. FYI doesn't seem like there's a bathroom, but I didn't ask. We ordered the samosa, chicken biryani and chicken tikka masala. Samosas were really good. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the side. The flavor was rich but not too salty. The biryani had very fragrant rice and included two drumsticks. The chicken was tender and not dry at all! The chicken tikki masala is your basic curry. Completely met expectations. We got garlic naan with it, and the naan was nicely baked- not burnt at all. We also had mango lassi and it was sooooo good. Not too sweet, was nice and creamy, and just a really comforting drink. The waiter made sure multiple times that things were ok, and made sure that our food was ok. Overall, great service, great food, what more can you ask for. read more

The Hyderabad Mutton Dum Biryani came with bone-in chunks of mutton topped with basmati rice mixed with masala spices, topped with fried onions and half an egg, and served with salan (curry sauce) and raita (spiced yogurt) on the side, which added a spicy and cooling touch, respectively. We also had the Tikka Kebab Mix, a tricolor plate of juicy boneless dark meat chicken with three different marinades: red for the classic chicken tikka, white for malai (cream), and my favorite, green for hariyali (cilantro and mint). Finally, we had the Chicken Chettinad, made of bone-in dark meat chicken in a thick, peppery coconut gravy.
