I am self employed and knew that at some point that I wanted to buy a house and that read about Everest Funding as a source of non-traditional mortgages for self-employed individuals in the WSJ early in 2021 and kept the information in case I needed it. Sure enough, in September of 2021, we were hit with a huge rent increase. We decided the following day that we had to buy a place. I contacted Kristi Manion at Everest to assess how big of a loan we would qualify for. The following day, we found a house in that price range, and were able to get a pre-approval financing letter within 3 days. Our offer for the house was accepted and we were in escrow a week later. 4 weeks later, we closed on the house. The process itself isn't easy, but it was efficient and moved quickly. Griffin Funding we're amazing to work with from start to finish! I had a new construction home being built for my short term rental business in the middle of the most chaotic Fed rate hikes in decades, along with multiple issues that arose with my original timeline due to contractor and supply issues, so much so that I broke my original 90 day rate lock with my lender through Griffin. I thought my dreams of expanding with Airbnb business were crushed and I had lost out. With the help of Ryles we were able to lock into the same rate as I had through one of the 30+ lenders they work with. Then I had to contest with a major Hurricane that held up my closing again. The team at Everest/Griffin were amazing during the whole process. It took only a few hours after submitting my application on line for them to get back to me with an approval. Terra and Colby got me thru the process very quickly. I started the process on 10/18 and on 11/8 it was fully funded. For a comparison, I had rocket mortgage as my lender, whom would stalk me on a near daily basis to remortgage. I decided to tap into the equity of my house and started the process with them. Because I own my own business (s-corp, sole owner), they were making me drop thru hoops because my "personal" income was less than my debt ratio. Even though my true income was a considerable amount more than my debt ratio. RM refused to take the business income into account and even wanted my CPA to write them letters attesting to the various accounts that were used by the business. I had my mortgage with them for close to 10 years, never missed a payment, and now suddenly it was an issue for them. And I had started the process on 9/20. The kicker, during and after I completed the process with Everset; RM continued to contact me. With that said, if you are a business owner, and need to prove your income with bank statements, definitely use Everest. Save yourself the headache with the big box lenders. read more

Let me start off by saying Lisa (Sr loan processor) + her assistant Christina are A DREAM TEAM!!!! Our journey to becoming homeowners started off a bit bumpy. We were working with a different lending company that was unorganized and lacked communication. We were not confident they'd be able to get the job done. That is when we found Everest Funding! Everest Funding (aka Griffin Funding) is a great company to deal with. As self employed individual, I had a difficult time to find a lender that are willing to pre-approved mortgage without employment information such as W-2. I ended up finding the sister company called Griffin Funding from a web search. I called and talked to Ben Nelson. He took my information and give a direction on how to provide income information from other sources (instead of Job income) to them. Within two hours after the conversation, I got a pre-approval letter. This letter enabled me to make an offer the next morning. After that the lending process was seamless. I was working with Lexie Estrada to provide all the information. Of course a lot of the information can be provided via upload and e-signing documents. The staff were very nice and promptly answered the questions. House was closed in 40 days. It is definitely a company to strongly recommend for lending source. A happy customer.
