Horrible experience! I gave the all the documents requested and was told that everything was on track to close, and then heard nothing for weeks. Right before initial closing deadline they started asking for more documents and inspections. My escrow was extended based on the timeline they gave me, however they continued to ask me for more documents. Daniel S. was the one that was "handling" my case and totally dropped the ball. No transparency, continued to tell me and my real estate agent that everything was on track, but it definitely was not. My income was not high enough for the loan I was "pre-approved" for and that was never said to me. Such a stressful and frustrating experience. I felt strung along with no end in sight. I ended up having to start the whole process over with a completely different lender. Do not do business with these people! read more

I gave all of my documentation and credit was ran just to be told they don't do loans for the property I was trying to get a loan for, when they knew upfront that was the loan I was trying to get. Imagine your landlord telling you to pack up and leave in the middle of a pandemic, 2 weeks after your first child is born. That is the situation I was presented with to begin a house search, find a lender, and close on a property all within 60 days. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been referred to Tim at OneTrust by my coworker. I spoke with 4 lenders and Tim is the only one I was comfortable working with. As a first time buyer he was very detailed in explaining the process and our options, and patient with my questions. It didn't hurt that he got us great terms. Against competitive offers I am confident the pre approval letter and vote of confidence from Tim to the selling party made a difference in them selecting us as buyers. Their rates may not be great but at least they have poor customer service. This is far from my first mortgage, but this has been the single worst financing experience I have had to live through. Their customer service has been lousy. They get phone numbers and emails wrong, they ask for information that has already been sent, they do not communicate changes, they make numerous mistakes on documents (always check their work!), they send expected closing dates that they miss month after month, they do not manage expectations in any form, and they do not accept responsibility for anything. I applied for a home loan after I was sent an email from One Trust about various loan options I might qualify for. I uploaded all of the docs requested and heard nothing for over a week. I texted the manager to get an update and his response was "Jacqueline you are locked in, someone will be reaching out soon" - 4-5 days later I get a call at 8:57pm from Matt. He proceeded to tell me that "there was an error with your sur name when pulling your credit". I have a VERY long credit history, I belong to Credit Karma and always stay abreast of any alerts. I have never in my middle age life been told I have an issue with my surname. I have been married for 23 years. We get off the phone and he proceeds to email me "proof" which is a screen shot that says " error could be due to a frozen acct or inaccurate information. I can't understand why we are a couple of weeks or longer into the process and this is the first call I am receiving? He proceeded to tell me he would not reach out to me again - I am now in awe of the customer service I am receiving. I included the manager in my response and this was Tuesday March 19th and I have yet to hear from anyone. My husband and I found out we need to leave our rental so we were really hoping to get info on buying at least to look at all of our options. I am incredibly dissapointed in the outcome after giving them all of my personal docs and info. read more

I made an initial inquiry and after not being able to connect via phone within one day as he requested he sent me a message saying "good luck" in reference to working with another vendor. These companies are supposed to help guide and educate you in this process, not make you feel bad. I couldn't connect via phone bc I was in the hospital with a sick family member and trying to buy their house and he essentially made a side dig at me in regards to my income. These people are idiots, they preapproved our loan months before closing, 2 months went by never heard a thing from them, they went to look over our taxes and stared to question them. After realizing my wife made an error on them ,we had them amended by our accountant friend and they still didn't look at the amended taxes they were looking at the WRONG TAXES, to top things off I contacted the appraiser to see what was going on with the appraisal, first they told him to go appraise a house down the road from the property, once they realize they made a mistake they gave him the right address IT WAS VACANT LAND , so he appraised it WHICH WAS WRONG, they neglected to give him the right amount of acreage, so he appraised only 49 acres instead of 60 acres, which the appraiser told me it would have made a difference, this company is soo incompetent and does not know what they are doing ,please don't fall for their B.S. we were all packed ready to go read more

Matt was short from the beginning and would chime in every so often after getting an update from my wonderful realestate agent. What got me was he called me silly on a phone call for wanting to compare rates with other lenders. He said " can I be completely honest in my opinion, I think its just silly that you don't trust us." something to that affect. I immediately asked him for an apology after thinking about the phone call. I thought to myself did he just call me silly. I felt it was very condesending and did not appreciate that. So I texted him and demanded an apology. Well, he came back and said " Barbara, you have my respect. To me, that was not an apology. He and Tom Potempo said that they felt some kind of way basically because I wanted to compare rates...they started talking about trusting them and other craziness. How can you take it personal, when it's my decision and my monthly mortgage payment that I will have to pay? Anyway, I was surprised to find that Tim Potempa backed that kind of behavior up. I let Matt know that I wanted a straight apology. It took some time for him to do that. When Tim chimed in and said that they monitor their lines. I was happy but soon learned that he approves of Matt's behavior. He also said that "they would love to close but cannot have clients that do not trust them." Too funny! read more

Our underwriter actually sat on our file on the day it was supposed to fund just to add another frustrating day to what was already a week late in funding. They promise the world but sadly never deliver. If we didnt want our home so badly we would have cancelled this loan to go somewhere else. If you want a loan that will close on time and handled competently go elsewhere, because these folks are managed by unprofessional incompetent bumbling idiots. Very unhappy with this company. Had a bad experience from the start with them and felt like I was never in the loop with what was going on with our loan. The people working on our loan had poor customer service and communication skills. I felt like I couldn't trust them and that they assured us of things they shouldn't have. Not only did they not give us a loan but we went of for weeks almost months pushing back the closing date, and was denied after providing all requested documents. I started a refinance with a different lender and experienced poor service, and a SEVERE lack of responsiveness from them. After wasting over a month with the other lender (and wasting hundreds of dollars for an appraisal) I searched around online to find a different lender, and I settled on OneTrust. I worked with Mat Dlugolenski and Angie Langdon and they were both the perfect example of what a refinance experience should be. They were so incredibly on top of everything from day one, all the way to closing. I never had to chase them down for information, updates, or responses to my inquiries, because they were always proactively contacting me. THEY WERE AWESOME!!! I got regular updates from them, and they took the time to provide fast, excellent service while also getting through the process without any mistakes. I have to say, it was VERY nice to have the people handling my refi constantly contacting me to move the process along. It almost felt like I was getting some kind of VIP concierge service, but that's just the way they do business. While other mortgage companies are providing poor service, making errors, and making excuses (typical excuse is that the market is so hot and that makes them very busy), Mat and Angie at OneTrust are showing those other "wanna be" mortgage companies how it should be done! They even work outside normal business hours to make sure everything is going well. Before you pick any "mass mortgage lender" (Quicken, Consumer Direct, Loan Depot), give OneTrust a try. I had never heard of them before, but I wish I had. You'll be treated like a VIP customer from start to finish. I paid just slightly more for my closing costs, but it was well wort it, and I would do it again. I made my first contact with OneTrust on August 7th, and my refi closed less than a month later on September 4th. I got what I paid for, and then some! Excellent company. read more
