We have been there a few times, out of necessity due to the town not having any other Indian cuisine available in the area. The first time, it was OK...passable. We actually ate there. We are vegan. But what I noticed is that the vegan rice takes 40 minutes to cook and therefore Roti is offered as a compromise. Roti doesn't work with all foods, especially when eating when ordering a stew like item. There are 2 wait staff, one guy, one girl. The guy is very robotic and the girl seems protective of the kitchen...can't put my finger on it. The last time I was there will be my last. It was our third time. It was about 30 minutes to closing and the food they had given us inedible food. The quality was POOR....the Roti was a joke!!! Honestly, the food tasted horrible and I tried my best to fix the texture by placing it in the air fryer...but it didn't help. The food was soggy and stale, and the taste was OLD. They had given us old leftovers for the day that was probably sitting out for a while. I threw them all away. I would be afraid to walk into that back kitchen and see what goes on. We have been to Everest Golden Moon on many occasions. I have even already left a review from our first visit a couple of years ago. This place continues to impress and is consistently great. The service is outstanding, the food is a great value and tastes amazing every time. We have not even attempted to try another Indian Food restaurant, because what's the point when this place is so close. This trip we had the Keema Kulcha (lamb stuffed naan), the chili naan, coconut curry chicken, butter chicken and lamb korma. All of them were ordered medium spicy. My wife does not like spicy food, but she devoured these and they only have a little kick, not killer spice at all. It's really nice having a good Indian restaurant in a small town like Hemet. It's always good to have different options. This was my 2nd time coming and the food hasn't disappointed me. The server was very helpful and friendly. Me and my sister both loved our food. I got samosas and the lamb curry combo special and she got the Gobi Manchurian which is fried cauliflower-It kinda looks like orange chicken I'm not gonna lie I was very skeptical at first but that cauliflower tastes divine!! I will b going back just for that. My combo platter and samosas were really good as well. We dined here again and the food was excellent. Two of us had the special Chicken Curry dish which included: rice, lentil soup, salad, garlic Naan bread and rice pudding. The variety of sauces on all the dishes were tasty. My friends had chicken and shrimp dishes also and they commented how great all the food tasted. There wasn't much dressing on the salad. Two of us went for dinner here last night. I ordered my usual favorite Indian cuisine dish of Chicken Tikka. It was served sizzling in a flat cast iron pan over onions with fresh lemon sections. It came with rice and I ordered Garlic Naan which was enough for the two of us. It was delicious. There was one thing that was different. The vivid green mint chutney that I've gotten as a condiment with this dish at every other Indian restaurant I've ever been to was missing. In its place was a light green creamy mint sauce. It had some type of dairy in it. It still tasted good just not my preference. My dinner companion ordered his favorite dish: Chicken Tikka Masala. He liked it very much. I've had golden moon Indian food multiple times, not bc it's so good but bc it's the only option in hemet. If I have the time I would rather make the drive to Temecula. They disappoint me everytime. At best it's okay enough to eat when you are really in the mood for Indian food. Last time I ordered I specifically asked to for plain daal, as their daal is with spices--I reiterated this with the gentleman on the phone multiple times- he said he understood that I don't want any spices in it- and when I got the order- it was their regular daal with spices. Horrible. I also ordered aloo paratha (flatbread stuffed with potato mixture) it was also so flavorless. Just a layer of potato paste in soggy flatbread. To preface, this is the very first time I've had Indian food and I've been dying to try it, but never had many opportunities. When we found out there was an Indian place in Hemet, we put in an order, and we fell in love. Our order was placed to go, and our food was already prepared and ready when we arrived. The gentleman at the front was very kind and welcoming when asking about our order. We ordered butter chicken and lamb tikka masala and it came with a side of basmati rice and garlic naan. The flavors of both dishes were fantastic! The butter chicken was rich and creamy with a curry-like flavor that wasn't spicy at all. It paired beautifully with the basmati rice. The lamb tikka masala had a bit more spice and a heartier flavor with tender lamb meat, and I loved dipping the garlic naan into the sauce to pick up the flavor like a dip. The amount of food may have looked a bit small but the meals are so dense and full of flavorful spices that there was enough for leftovers. It is nice to have found an excellent Indian restaurant in Hemet after moving from Menifee. My food was a delivery order via Grubhub and everything arrived at the correct temperature. I had the Vegetables Jalfrezi "mild" and it was so amazing that there was none left over for me to take a picture to post here. A very large portion, cooked perfectly, seasoned just right, and mild as I had requested. The rice that came with it was plentiful and very unique. I also had Hummus With Garlic Naan Bread, and that was excellent too--very flavourful items. All food containers were tightly wrapped in cellophane, which prevents any spills or leaks; a bright idea. Prices are very fair for the quality and quantity of food offered. Will definitely order again and try more vegetarian items. read more
