Soooo delicious!! Was brought here for Mother's Day, and I was so excited to eat! The food was so good, portions were perfect, and the service was even better! We ordered: - Spicy Naan - Garlic Naan - Plain Naan - Rice - Lamb Sukha (spicy) - Saag Aloo - Vegetable Samosa - Shrimp Tikka Masala (spicy) - Butter Chicken - Mango Lassi for the kids - Taj Mahal 22.oz beer ALL OF THE FOOD WAS MORE THAT PERFECT! The spicy food was sooo soooo good, we had a decent amount of leftovers to take home. Everyone was so kind in there, and very attentive! When we go back, we definitely need to see if we can sit at a larger table so we can order more food I can't wait to go back! read more

Tandoori and Naan are cooked in a CLAY TANDOOR OVEN at this location. Most entries are served with a complimentary bowl of Basmati rice that is fragrant with spices (cloves can be found). The food feels like a home cook meal and I was told from Northern India province. This was definitely not an Americanized India fusion nor anything served in any India California buffets and definitely a level above it. ========= Tandoori are served on Sizzling Platters and placed on top of sauté vegetables (onion, bell peppers with spices) that are pre-marinated for hours. A lemon wedge is provided to squeeze additional citrus flavoring to the meats. The spices in the tandoori meats were well embedded that I could smell/taste the spices hours after eating as well as the next day upon reheating leftovers. 21. LAMB CHOPS (RACK OF LAMB / 5 PCS) Pre-marinated lamb with each leg cut and blacken char in the clay oven. It was cooked to well so a bit dry/over done for me. However, I was told the meats can be cooked to any wellness a customer prefer. If you want medium make sure to specify upon ordering. It came with a paste made from fresh mint/cilantro to help with gamey taste associated with lamb. 16. CHICKEN TANDOORI Bone in chicken thigh/drumsticks pre-marinated with spices. Additional hot spice paste can be requested, but I ask to put on the side. It was cooked well done, so could be juicer if cooked less. A side of marsala could also help with the dryness of the meat. ========= Boneless cubed meat are slow braised in India spice sauces: 61. LAMB ROGAN JOSH ** Delicious in flavoring ** Braised cube boneless lamb in a stewed tomato sauce filled with India aromatic spices (onion, garlic, India spices: black cardamom, cumin, cloves, etc). It's similar to saltness of a rustic tomato cacciatore sauce but w/ India spices. 60. LAMB KORMA Wanting to compare it to Al-Noor (Pakistan) in Inglewood is Spicy, Salty, Tangy, the taste was a total opposite to a Sweet Floral Nutty and Creamy (Himalayan is India). In the usa, most restaurants are called India to make it simple for non-India customers. The flavor is different because these are two different cultures/regions but use the same name Lamb Korma. Although I could taste the cashews, it was more bland in comparison to the Rogan Josh and other Korma I've tried elsewhere. I did not add additional hot spice. All the sauces come in the same dish and fits in a 24oz plastic container including the rice. Meats are cubed and seem to be about 4 oz of meat on my 1st visit. ============ Garlic Naan is at ala carte prices and not complimentary. It had garlic with cilantro flakes. It was OK but not as buttery as Al Noor. However, this restaurant's Basmati rice had more flavor than the Naan to go well with their dishes/tandoori. Restaurant is small café style, it's can hold a party of 6 per table. Bottle wine or glass is available to purchase besides beer and soda. It does get busy after 5pm and parking does get tight since it shares it with other eating establishment. For quieter setting, go before the dinner crowd. Staff is friendly and nice. During my visit, many of patrons (are not India) and happy/eager to experience a place with exposure to dishes that provided different blend of spices. Food is plentiful and delicious, sizzling lamb tandoori with vegetables, chicken curry, rice and Naan garlic bread were all perfect, generous potions. Service was attentive to our needs. Also offering wonderful plastic containers with tight lids for our leftovers to bring home. Checked in about 3:30pm on a Friday to beat the crowds, loved that it is a small quaint restaurant here in Menifee, noise level was low, easy to have conversation, all in all a great experience. Good spot for Indian food. All the dishes we ordered were flavored nicely, good spice levels. I highly recommend the chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala. I was interested in the chili chicken but I wasn't sure about the spice levels and it has tomatoes. The spicy chilli naan was spiccceyyyy. I did feel like the naan wasn't fresh and had been sitting a while but our other meals felt like they were made to order. This place was amazing and I am looking forward to going back. What I loved about it is so many Indian restaurants are so heavy on the spices all the dishes start tasting the same. From the Garlic Naan that was cooked to perfection light not dense. The Shrimp Curry cooked with its warm turmeric cream based sauce. The Aloo Gobi with its rich tomato based sauce with Himalayan spices, potatoes, and cauliflower. Veggie Momos with this amazing spicy tomato and Serrano sauce with garlic, cilantro and lots of spices like Turmeric. This place made my taste buds dance. Went with the wife for Dinner. Everything was delicious . It is pretty new to Menifee but I was excited to try it. I finally made the jump because my brother also recommended it. The ambiance is clean and quiet for being in a strip mall. The service was great, they were friendly, fast and although the meal took awhile to come out from the kitchen it was all hot and fresh and still didnt take that long at all. Saw this while cruising down the street. Looks like they barely opened up not too long ago so I wanted to give them a try since there are not too many Indian restaurants near Menifee. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice (Medium Spice Level) and Garlic Naan. Naan is oven-baked flat bread. It's like eating a freshly made tortilla. The flavor was absolutely delicious! I think next time I want to try this again but spicier. Expect to pay $15-20 on average here. The price is just right. When I first walked in, I felt they're confused and didn't say hi within a few seconds. Later they provided with great service. There was always someone checking in on how I was doing and offered more water and rice. The atmosphere is really chill with low ambient lighting. The smell entering the place was amazing, the set up was clean. The service was good and the food was flavorful. Chicken was a bit tough but the flavors made up for it. Portions were ok but im used to buffet style or family style dining experience with this kind of food because its so flavorful and good I would love a variety! We also ended up all getting the same thing because we didnt know the names of the foods we usually eat because there are no pictures on the menu so we didnt want to experiment we were hungry! I took this to go, and it was packed and traveled well. Food was delicious. Really glad to have Indian food in the area, and a solid spot at that. That momo sauce was so good. The portions are large, but not overdone, and not at the cost of quality. The chicken tika masala was perfect, with a rich, flavorful sauce. Man it's so good. I'm eating more as I write this. The lamb josh rogan was warm and cozy, added some spice to really seal the deal - the lamb was so tender. Saag paneer was amazing, also rich and creamy. Absolutely delicious! Himalayan Taste in Menifee is so yummy and truly authentic - just as good as I remember the Indian food my college classmates' parents used to make. Every bite brought back those comforting, home-cooked flavors. We naan-stop talked about how good it was! The service was also excellent. Assama (hope I'm spelling that right!) was incredibly kind and gave us spot-on recommendations. She really curry-ed us in the best direction! We'd been waiting forever for this new Himalayan spot to open, and one day my hubby drove by and saw the doors finally open--we had to check it out! The host greeted us warmly and sat us right away. The place wasn't too busy, which makes sense since they just opened. You can tell they're still getting organized, but honestly, the service needs some work. Our waiter never really checked on us, and when we were ready to leave, we had to flag him down just to get the check. The vibe is okay but could use a little help--mainly better lighting at the tables so you can actually read the menu. Now the food... that's where they shine! I had the Lamb Tikka Masala Curry with garlic naan and it was excellent--rich flavor and perfectly cooked. My hubby got the Chicken Tandoori grill with rice and he enjoyed his too. I arrived and again very nice customer service. Ambiance seemed intimate & comfortable. I loved that they wrapped the dishes in plastic wrap to avoid spilling. We have enjoyed each of the dishes we have tried: the moist tandoori chicken with lots of peppers and onions, the lamb tikka masala, and my favorite...the chicken korma. Had a chance to try this place out recently and it was very good. The one thing that stood out for this place is they seem to use very good quality white meat chicken. We were pleasantly surprised at the food, good ambiance and the aromas that welcomed us into an early dinner. We started with Aloo Ra Kakara Sadae Ko, a cucumber with potato salad, Himalayan mixed appetizer an Onion bhaji and vegetable samosa. Then we ordered lamb Suhka, Butter Chicken and Aloo Gobi. A cauliflower vegetable dish. We ordered all at medium spiciness but next time may tone it to mild. Yes, there will be a next time! Oh, and of course rice and Garlic Naan. Butter chicken was a large serving, could easily serve two. It was excellent. Sauce was thick, nicely spiced, and not watery like some places. Everything was sizzling hot. One suggestion, ask for spiciness with numbers 1-5. I was asked how much spice and I said mild, I probably got 2-2.5. A little hotter than I like, but perfectly edible. Asked if that was as mild as they made and waiter said I should have asked for very mild. Numbers are clearer. Main dish abt 20 min, soup was 10 min. Best Mulligatawny soup I've ever had. They also have a black lentil dal soup and a tomato based soup. Establishment has settled in and seems very nicely decorated and tables nicely presented with cloth napkins and water glasses. Booths of all sizes. Can't wait to return and try more dishes. Only wish they had combination thalis. Today was $30 for soup, naan, entree which included rice including tax. read more

We were so excited to be getting an Indian restaurant here in Menifee. This is walking distance from our house and has become a regular spot for us. The service is great and the food is FANTASTIC. I understand they have just recently opened, so, for the most part they get a pass. But, here's what I saw. The Non-Food stuff 1) seriously need more staff. 2) staff needs some sort of uniform. Random t-shirts, torn jeans, 1 wearing a baseball cap, dirty shoes. Just looks bad. It's a restaurant, treat it as such. 3) no system for a waiting list. Very poor communication with customers waiting to get a table. Food Stuff 1) garlic naan was very good. I like mine cooked a touch more, but it was very tasty. 2) chicken salad was good. 3) Butter chicken was great, except it was way way way too spicy. I ordered it mild, and sadly I couldn't eat it. Chicken was tender, the sauce was rich and creamy and I soooooo wanted to eat it. 4 bites and my face melted. Overall, go give them a try. Be patient. I really hope they work out the kinks.
