Sign on door states, "veteran and L&I friendly," not true in my recent experience with Evergreen. As both a vet AND a L&I claimant, I was treated most rudely by the woman in the office. They supposedly "fixed" my hearing aids over a year ago and the Lt one has buzzed ever since. They dodged their responsibility at every turn, she said "we are a small company so we can't afford to give you any wax guards, or anything else I guess. She said I was eligible for new hearing aids, gave me a card with a phone number on it, "they can help you she stated," but it was obvious that Evergreen sure as hell wasn't going to put any more effort into getting new aids. I don't know if it's the same owner but I've certainly moved on to a new provider. Don't give your business to these people, they're money grubbers and liars.. read more

Shocked, Disbelief, Disheartened Experience Today - What happened Chris? The manner in which the front desk female employee talks to a long-term, loyal customer of Evergreen Audiology was appalling. As a long-term customer for 6 years. I have felt respected & appreciated - until today. This is extensive however anyone who is considering and a current customer, this is for you. And please note I am not a Veteran - I am reading this is the desired customer only? Really? One hour before my appointment, I received a call from Evergreen's female clerk " instructing" me to call my insurance & have them verify my insurance. I had done this over one week ago and understood they had the information. She firmly said no. I called my insurance - 30 minutes later and being told usually the provider's office calls for this information I was assured Evergreen had what they needed. I drove 45 minutes to Evergreen. Issue #1 I arrived at 2:25pm for my 2:30pm appt. Looking down at her desk, speaking quickly, with what felt like a harsh tone of voice which I describe as severe and unkind, I was told I am a "no show," my appt was at 2pm, I was late and would need to rebook. She also said my insurance called and said I was confused about my insurance and it is not her place to explain it. I was given no time to clarify/explain I was sorry and understood my appointment was at 2:30pm. She and I had just spoken; surely she knew I was coming. The issue wasn't the appointment time, the need to reschedule, the asking customers to get pre-authorizations - it is when someone in such a critical role - the first customer contact speaks in a manner that conveys frustration, lack of empathy, and is perceived as aggressive or dismissive is the issue. Using a harsh tone can make others feel defensive, upset, frustrated, or lack empathy, and can be perceived as aggressive/dismissive. And, that is exactly what happened. I responded exactly this way. Upset that I was being treated this way, I said I would like to talk with Chris first. She walked to Chris' office, closed his door and told me he was not available. I should leave. I left and called my husband. Deciding II should return and speak with Chris for a few minutes between his appointments to describe what I just experienced. I truly believed if he knew a staff member talked this way to his customer which is contrary to my earlier experience of Chris' staff and Chris himself - the five-star customer service provider, he would rectify the situation. Issue #2 I returned to the office, quietly sitting down. The female worker asked "if she could help me?" I said no, I would like to talk directly to Chris when he has a few minutes. In the same harsh, disciplinary tone, she asked me to leave, and told me I was rude and disrespectful. I sat quietly. She walked abruptly to Chris' office repeating that I was rude and disrespectful and since I would not listen to her, she will see that Chris will take care of this. Issue #3 - the clincher! Chris stepped out of his office, looked directly at me, almost like a robot, and said 'you need to leave this office,' 'you are no longer welcomed and no longer a customer of this clinic.' He turned and walked back into his office. Utter dismay, I said to 'Chris, I am sorely shocked Chris.' - when does a former fiver-star, "knock it out of the ballpark" audiologist treat a long-term, loyal customer like this? I cannot believe this happened. Where did the former service of validating a customer's concern, feelings, showing empathy and understanding, maintaining professionalism and composure, remaining calm and respectful go? Why did this happen? Conclusion - I am a retired human resources leader & former instructor of college business management. I can't believe what unfolded in this office today - especially from the owner. I truly hope he reflects on today's event. The upside - I aligned quickly with another audiology service that delivers the same hearing product at a fraction the price and top-notch service - thank you Costco. read more

Dr. Lawson is amazing. I live in Tucson Arizona I needed help with my Resound hearing aids while visiting family in Portland Oregon. I got a prompt appointment and found him to be kind and extremely competent. I only wish he practiced in Tucson Arizona rather than Vancouver Washington. If I lived here in Vancouver or in Northeast Portland there would be no question at all where I would go buy hearing aids or have them serviced. read more

Dr Lawson treated me VERY well. Any rating less than a 10 on a scale of 5 is less than accurate. There are many good HA's on the market but darn few audiologists of the quality of Dr Lawson. I am an old male that is demanding in my care. My hearing loss was severe and my patience level was just as demanding. He answered my questions to my understanding and offered great suggestions. I would give them zero stars if possible. No answer when I call. No response when I leave a message. No one there when I come by during hours of operation. The sign on the door says open and a sign outside but the door is locked and lights are off. No response to appointment request. I lost my hearing due to chemo and desperatly needed to update my hearing aids. I let them know in an email. No response. Horrible customer service. Chris is a TOP NOTCH audiologist who REALLY cares about his clients. By nature Chris is an educator which helps to take away any fears, concerns or worry as you don't know what to expect. You can tell right away that he is a wealth of information having worked with the military at Fort Campbell for most of his 10 years in practice. That has paid off as he only wants to help you understand the process and believe me there is a process to obtain and successfully wear hearing aids. I really can't recommend Chris enough. You would be very hard pressed to find a better audiologist period! read more

Today the office was actually open but after waiting to see Dr Lawson about my hearing aid not turning on, the new receptionist came back out and said he's only taking VA patients and she gestured towards the door. I asked for clarification and she said he's no longer taking patients who don't have VA benefits. They didn't send a letter or reach out to me about this decision. She said go to Miracle Ear! At least give me the name of another audiologist! Miracle Ear of course could not help with my Widex aids so now I'm scrambling trying to get an appointment with someone new while I am not able to hear. I scheduled my appointment two weeks in advance, I went to my appointment today, showing up 10 min early and the office was closed. I waited until 15 min past my appointment time, and the office never opened. I called multiple times, and I was waiting for an answer. I understand if something happened and my appointment needed rescheduling, but no one ever called me. I have to drive 20+ mins to get to this office and had taken time off work for this appointment. This morning I had broken the tube of my hearing aid and decided to come into evergreen audiology for the first time and can say this has been my best experience with an audiologist. Chris was amazing and educational about what I need to do with my hearing aids. He was able to fix it and I was able to hear better in no time. Several years ago I had my hearing checked here and they were great, didn't even charge me for the test. I recently felt my hearing was causing me problems so scheduled an appointment. About a hour before my appointment they called and canceled on me saying the doctor was sick. Short notice, but ok. I rescheduled, no problem. Today I showed up for an 11am appointment and found the lights off and the door locked. I waited for a little bit and called several times. No answer and no one showed up. The people at Evergreen are friendly and Dr. Lawson is very competent. Unfortunately, after trying the ReSound product that Dr. Lawson recommended (for a $3450 copay with my health insurance) to provide me with fully automatic hearing aid, and after 6 weeks of visits to have Dr. Lawson adjust them, they didn't work well for me. Rather than being fully automatic , I would up with an app that had three screens on it for me to select to improve the sound, and they didn't provide an acceptable experience. Dr. Lawson refunded my payment. I asked Dr. Lawson to recommend a simple amplifyer aid, and learned they don't have one. Afterward, I found the Banglijian BLJ-707 amplifyer on Amazon. It works well, is easy to use, and doesn't distort the sound. They are also an incredible value. read more

I've been to Evergreen Audiology twice now over two years and have nothing but great things to say about the staff, the cleaning person and of course Dr Lawson. My recent visit I was almost dreading having to buy or hear a speel on buying new hearing aids. When you first enter Evergreen Audiology you'll be greeted by smiling faces like that of Nicholas. That is important these days of masking. They are wearing communication masks with a clear plastic revealing the mouth. Perhaps you have one yourself to help people who can read lips. Doctor Lawson was very helpful in steering me to a new type of hearing aid that helped me a lot. After I started wearing them I not only could hear much better but I had a lot less wax in my ears. He might be able to help you in this way. Ask him about this. They have other helpful devices for hearing aids. Those that use blue tooth to send sounds directly to your hearing really help amazingly. Some of these may be controlled by your smart phone to match your environment especially a noisy one. You can amplify or decrease the sounds as well. If you don't have that kind of phone or want a separate controller that is easy to use, they have those, too. With a separate microphone you can use it at the cashier's to amplify the sound muffled by the plastic shields. I recommend them highly. read more
