I liked the surgeon a great deal but problems appeared post surgery and were handled very poorly. - The initial surgery date was bumped by the clinic. - Post surgery, I left a message with their answering service about a very large pustule on my nose and skin break-out, concerned it was an infection. No response. - I called back, left a message through the front desk. No response. - We finally set an office appointment, which they rescheduled to a later date. (So much later, it was almost cleared.) Reason was undetermined, possibly an infected suture(?). - After a long wait/healing period, I returned for a postop visit. My surgery had failed; my right nostril had collapsed, a bump remained from the pustule, my nostrils were asymmetrical and my occlusion was actually worse. From function to poor aesthetics as an aftermath, what a disappointment. - Unfortunately, I paid my invoice promptly in full. - Since the problems ranged from every aspect of the clinic (from admin to surgery), I spoke with the office manager. While very apologetic for the overall experience, she promised to look into my billing and call me back. I never heard back, even after 2 follow-up messages, still no response, so I chose to write a review. - I've had to seek out 2nd opinions and solutions, at my expense. Because of PDX ENT, I'm now looking at corrective surgery, additional cost, pain and my face looking worse than when I began. - There are no guarantees with any surgery, understood. I've been patient and professional through this debacle but, I have to say, I can't recall a more unprofessional experience from start to finish.

(Clue, continuing to speak when I'm sobbing, and hyperventilating, IS NOT the option you should have taken). I hung up. No follow-up call to see if I'm okay. AND She chose the end of her workday to call. Next day no call either. A vague yeah for some reason we couldn't finish the call in my patient portal. Then she stopped responding after I told her off, and explained empathy is part of medical care. I would only go back for Shaleen. ONLY. Her staff can suck eggs. Or better yet, take a class in understanding mental health

Dr. Shaffer was extremely thorough in his evaluation, explaining everything about the procedure thereby eliminating the fear. He ordered an additional test, explaining why, what the tests may reveal, and what to do in the interim. It was my first time at this practice, and with Dr. Shaffer, and I was very satisfied. It took two months to get the appointment, that is my only complaint, but that seems to be the norm in Portland for specialists.

When I pointed it out to him, he made excuses and didn't apologize. He squeezed sanitizer on and proceeded with scope. I received communication from Sasha that my calcium was 3.2! I am dead with a calcium level of 3.2! I am a nurse so I'm incredibly concerned that someone is leaving this as a message. Then I was told by Dr. Kim's P.A. That my surgery failed. He pulled something from my nostril. I asked what it was. He told me it was my bone. The next day I wrote Dr. Kim. He told me it was a splint that was supposed to dissolve. I repeatedly receive phone calls requesting feedback. I repeatedly left messages regarding concerns. No one circled back. The office doesn't care if it's giving false medical education/information.

I was told by the front desk that the appointment would take about an hour. My mom was transported from her nursing home for this appointment. She got there early and was taken in to see the doctor even before the check in time, which was good. Dr Kim had good bedside manners and cleaned my mom's ear wax with relative ease. But the office manager and the receptionist's bedside manners were deplorable. They were rude and condescending, telling us that the audiologist was not available. Till the audiologist herself stepped in and offered to check my mom's hearing aids, one of which was acquired here. She replaced the plastic tube on the aids and put in fresh batteries. The rudeness of the staff to the office Manager eye rolls and condescending attitude is not acceptable. We had followed a previous audiologist to this practice and had been coming here for a long time. The office manager physically touched me as she pushed me away from the front desk, saying I should follow the above said audiologist to her new office at Kaiser!! Needless we will not be coming to this practice again. Incidentally, also saw the receptionist being rude to another person, who was accompanying a patient. Even the doctor had to remind the office manager to ease off, as she rushed the poor doctor. Most unprofessional and exceptionally rude office staff!

The one who I read had openings was not my first choice, so I was led to believe that another doctor, whose online bio appealed to me, would be shown the form I filled out and I'd get a response. So, I never got a response. I called in June to remind her and was told "the doctor was on vacation" blah blah blah. She promised she would show the doctor my inquiry and I'd hear back either way. This didn't happen. That conversation was on June 5th and it is now over a month later. I give up on this practice. How can you be offering "concierge" medicine which is supposed to devote extra time to patients and completely ignore a potential new patient who is willing to jump in and pay the practice MONTHLY whether being seen or not? Ugh.
