A few days later it was ready and I paid $700.00 and thought I was getting a great deal. I used the boat only a few times locally at Edmonds and Everett. Only a 50 mile round trip one way. Then drove up Vancouver Island for a week and then towed it to Port Alberni and home. This September when I returned, I was trailering the boat to Edmonds Marina and saw smoke coming from the front wheel. I called Kenny's Truck parts and told them my problem and that I was stranded. They took no responsibility even when I paid them a visit the next day. I limped the boat to Les Schwab in Kenmore and they were more than happy to help. After diagnosis, the trailer needed an entire new spindle, bearings and brakes and the spindle arm replaced. When Les Schwab realized the spindle arm was welded in, and recommended me to 3 Rivers Marina. I was treated well by both businesses. Maybe this message can help someone else!

Chuck did such a good job replacing the roof on the 2006 trailer that I didn't even look around I took the 2014 trailer to him right away as I knew I could trust his work and had him replace the roof and do some other little things that needed attention. Twice Chuck has made room for me even though he is constantly booked in advance to repair my trailers so I could continue with my travel plans. The quality of his work is the BEST, in fact I can honestly say that the roof Chuck installed was superior to the roof that came from the factory, it looks better, it fits better and I know its sealed better. But the sales manager James stepped in and solved the problem within minutes! I did quite a bit of digging for a center that specializes in RV electrical repair. We had a project that involved my replacing our old lead acid system with a much more capable and lighter LiFePo4 system. Now we are experiencing issues with the battery not getting fully charged and so I reached out. When the phone rang and the gentlemen picked up the phone, all he said was hello. I introduced myself, explained what I was looking for and asked if I called the right place. He said yep. I asked him his name and that's when it felt like it was going down hill. I should have excused myself and called elsewhere. Who sounds exasperated to have to say their own name at their own business? Anyway, I went on to explain my issue in detail, what I had done on my own to try and solve the issue and his reply was, do I want to fix it or him to do it. Again I'm thinking, sir, I came to you for help, what's with the attitude? So again, trying to be as sweet as pie so as to not upset Capt Cranky, I further explained that my vehicle, a brand new vehicle that he assumed I bought used and told me as much may not be putting out enough amps to activate an onboard charger and if this could be examined as well. His answer after learning it was a new vehicle was to take my truck back to the dealership and make them fix it. BUT! This was after asking condescending questions about why I didn't consider this variable and mitigate that. I told him that I just didn't know anymore. I've reached the end of my ability to problem solve and I wanted an expert to help at this point and that's why I was calling him. That's when he tells me that I need to bring my RV to his shop in Marysville (not Redmond), and that he needs actual time to solve the issue in its entirety and to make sure I allow for that at $160/hr. I'm thinking, ok, steep, but probably worth it....until he said this....and if you have a budget of about $300 which it sounds like you do, I'm not gonna look at it. At this point I told the gentlemen I'm done being berated and talked down to and this was a huuuge mistake calling his shop much less staying on the phone with this jacka$$. He hung up the phone and then texted me saying the call got dropped. Ok buddy. Save your money folks. There are other shops willing to make you feel like you called the right place. I went to Les Schwab because they'd replaced my tires recently. The sweet young guy (LS does not require much experience) sent me over to FS Autoworks who he felt could better diagnose. These older trucks are quirky! The owner, Jeremy, took the time to figure out what was actually going on--with some crazy old school electrical trick-- stayed with it right up until closing, and got me safely back on the road that day. What I appreciated most was the communication. He explained the issues clearly, helped me prioritize what needed to be addressed, and was mindful of cost constraints without ever compromising safety. As someone going through a divorce and trying to keep an old truck, a cabin renovation, and life in general moving forward, that meant a lot. I really felt so taken care of and trusted every recommendation. If you have a Diesel Truck, or any truck, FS Autoworks is the place to go. It's hard to find people who are both knowledgeable and honest. Jeremy was both.
