I'm not local to the area but needed a mechanic for my diesel F250 while traveling through. I didn't think the engine sounded right but the truck wasn't actually "doing" anything bad. Two other mechanics, with good online reviews, told me there was nothing wrong with the truck. One of them seemed to be a pretty accomplished diesel-specific shop, and they were very professional, but didn't get me the answers i was looking for. I called up Pacific Diesel and tried to describe the sound. I told them the year and model, and based on experience, they said it was probably the torque converter, but of course needed to see it. At the shop, they confirmed it's the torque converter, and explained to me how it was causing the sound. This was the preamble to needing an expensive transmission replacement, and they were patient and explained all my options in a very direct, matter-of-fact way. Unlike many mechanics, they didn't make me feel like i was an idiot for even asking "What if i don't fix it right now?" (Their response was that it might go another 10 or 10,000 miles, but when it died it would probably be at a very inconvenient place and time). They asked me a lot about how i use the truck, and tailored their responses to suit. You can also tell these guys know how to keep trucks running. They don't mess around with lifts or "performance enhancements", because they know how to keep a truck reliable and long-lasting. They are level-headed people who know that many of us rely on our trucks for our livelihoods. Because it's hard to find a great diesel or transmission shop, i elected to go ahead with the transmission change now. If Pacific Diesel hadn't impressed me with their level of service, i would have put it off and just dealt with the inevitable inconvenient failure down the road. I explained that i was traveling through the area and they worked me into their schedule very quickly, and got the truck back to me exactly when they said they would. They replaced my tranny (and torque converter) with a heavy-duty remanufactured Ford transmission at about the same price that AAMCO quoted me to just rebuild my old one (not that i would have actually taken it there, eek!). The sound is gone, and with a new tranny i've realized there must have been shifting problems before that i didn't notice, because the truck shifts better now. Pacific Diesel is a ways out of town and doesn't offer a shuttle, but it's worth figuring out how to visit them, for the quality of their service. read more

I was in Snohomish Washington last Friday and my Ford F350 pickup lost power, I am from Idaho and I was in town to pick up a motorcyle. I have, in the past, used a service near the Snohomish airport. But, after they tried and miserably failed to fix my Duramax steering problem...at a high price...it was time to look around. Fortunately, I located Pacific Diesel and took my problem to them. They told me the power steering pump was a remanufactured pump for a gas truck...the totally wrong pump. In and out in one day and my problems were solved. DO NOT GO TO THE SNOHOMISH place that says they do diesel service. Pacific Diesel is by far superior! read more

We had the worst experience possible at Pacific Diesel. We brought our truck there to get it repaired for a couple different issues. Our first time there and they were just reopening after lunch. My husband parked the truck in the only open spot at the time, which was one of the next-door neighbor's spots. They apparently don't have a good relationship with each other. Dan (owner) emotionally runs to our truck and whips the truck out of the stall and goes across the parking lot to back it in to a stall. Dan does not pay attention to the box truck who was already over there backing up which collided with our vehicle. Dan will not take care of your truck or be apologetic for getting your truck into a car accident. He is rude unfriendly and is a control freak who micro-manages his staff. I do not ever recommend going there. read more

Plus I just had my tranny serviced and they said I needed to get it served ...... also didn't answer all the questions I had for them. They beat around the bush way to much. Find a better shop! I had my truck at another shop in Monroe . They told me my high pressure fuel pump had disintegrated and sending metal shavings into my fuel system and injectors .. They quoted me 8000.00 to replace the pump and the injectors and clean the fuel system. I thought that price was way too high . So I had my truck towed Pacific Diesel Service for a 2nd opinion . They got my truck started in ten minutes it was a blown fuse for the fuel pump. The wire harness going to the fuel pump had a short. The pump was fine it didn't disintegrate and it didn't need new injectors . To replace the wire harness they had to remove the cab to get to the pump. Pacific Diesel recommended I replace the pump seeing how the truck has 118000 miles and they have the cab off . So they replaced the wire harness and high pressure fuel pump they tested my fuel injectors and they were all perfect . My truck was fixed for 3800.00 that is less then half of the 8000.00 I was quoted from the other shop. I believe that the other shop tried to rip me off and they have a bunch shady incompetent mechanics working for them. I would highly recommend Pacific Diesel they are honest fair and have trained mechanics. read more

Well let's start I brought my truck here to get a diagnostic when I have spent a thousand dollars already tryen to figure out the problem I told these guys how frustrated I was an running out of money they assured me they figure it . I got a call they told me what it was quoted me a price an it was way out of my budget I said just leave it how it is ill come get it . I brought truck home an went ahead an fixed it myself but before that I had to go back to there shop get my parts they kept but hey benefit of the doubt plp forget then I notice they removed my license plate frame that had another diesel shop on it but hey its just plate frame right . so I do the repair myself just a injector get it all together in 45 mins an it won't even turn over wait a min they unplugged stuff under the truck an also unplugged stuff that goes to the starter an tucking an hiding the wires well I guess if your pissed cause I couldn't afford to have you fix my truck I guess that's one shady way to get me to come back . unplugging stuff on the truck that should or never had to be unplugged to test for a high pressure oil just blows my mind u bad mouth other shops to make yours look good then u pull that you will never get my buissness my family's or anyone I know an I know a lot of plp BEWARE MONROE SNOHOMISH I rather take the bus then have my truck worked on there :) read more
