I have NEVER trusted transmission shop's and was very skeptical of this one as well. I called Ed's and my call was taken by "Andrew" who asked me what he could do for me. I explained to him that my "baby" 2005 Ford F-150, with only 228,00 miles on it appeared to be slipping when leaving from a stop and could he quote me the worse case scenario cost if it did in fact needed a replacement transmission. He immediately gave me a quote at which point I said " but would that be the total out the door" and he said "no, they would add the tax to it and that would be all". Still unsure, I took my truck to him and decided to give him a try, "Andrew" said it would be ready on Friday, this was Monday afternoon. On Friday morning "Andrew " called at precisely 10:00AM and said my truck was ready and the quoted price was what it was. I arrived at the location still skeptical, but that is where it ended, my skepticism I mean. I paid the charge quoted, added the extra (3) year, 100,000 warranty and left. My truck performed flawlessly and after (15) days and 600 miles I took it back today for the prescribed check, which it passed. When I checked underneath about a week ago when I had the oil changed everything was so clean and spotless, I was impressed. I will definitely take every vehicle to Ed's if the need should ever arise in the future. This was the best price that I received and I called several, one which will remain unnamed and will never be used would not even give a quote without a diagnostic check first. It was quick and easy getting my truck in for a transmission rebuild. They communicate very effectively through phone, email, and even text! The only down side or problem is the amount parking at their establishment. Very hard to get in, and almost no parking. I assume it's because the city/county made hiway 9 wider. Notice I didn't drop a star for that, I don't think it's their fault. So, other than the parking, expect high quality work at a reasonable price. Lastly, I drove 1.5 hours, past other transmission shops, because several people I talked to mentioned them as the best around. read more

I self diagnosed a front differential problem with my '05 Escalade. After what appears to be big effort in diagnostics, they informed me that I did not have a transmission/differential issue, but instead an issue with the power steering hydralics. "We are transmission specialists, and we think you should take this to someone who really knows power steering issues." They gave me two shops they recommended. These folks could have easily convinced me to spend big money on a transmission repair, and they did not. When my transmission DOES have problems, I will take it to Ed's! read more

I can not say enough how impressed with Ed's Transmission! I checked around first, many places, before choosing them. I was actually going to do the job myself since I was getting prices between $4500-6500, more than I even paid for the car! Ed's was LESS THAN HALF the other prices, they had a unit ready to go, two day turn around compared to 1-2 weeks elsewhere. Great warranty and very down to earth people to work with. Visited ed's transmission to have a full transmission check of a used vehicle I purchased ... front office, Andrew, very cordial and knowledgeable... inspection included a drop of the pan for actual visual plus other ... review of tranny found a few issues and repaired/tightened/adjusted a couple of belts ... price not bad at all, did not feel i was taken. ... After being quoted almost double the usual cost for a transmission rebuild, I took it over to Ed's and within a few moments, got TWO reasonable quotes and an explanation for why they were different. After I picked it up, I was told to bring it back in a couple weeks just so they could make sure everything was running smooth. Brought my Bronco in for a rear differential service, within two hours after I dropped it off I already had a call saying the tech already found the issue and some of the parts I supplied myself would not be needed. Went in to have my transmission fluid changed. They quotes me two hours and had it done in 45 minutes! Andrew was incredibly helpful, patient and kind. It was significantly less money then the dealership and their lobby, for clients, was clean and organized. I bought a 2005 Jeep Liberty with a rebuilt transmission from Andrew at Ed's in 2015. It ran like a champ for 5 years and I replaced the engine, but the transmission was fine until a malfunction in 2021. Andrew remembered the vehicle. Contacted Ed's and his wife was very helpful. Explained what the issue was - 8L90 GMC trans made a rumble strip noise. 55k miles.
