Not great, unfortunately. I started having brake issues. One wheel would stick after braking and overheat. The shop replaced the calipers and discs, which was expensive. Less than 100 miles later, the problem came back. I had to get everything replaced, and I had to pay for it a second time. When it happened a third time, I gave up and sold the car. I just did not want to deal with it anymore. The new owner later told me it was just a clogged brake line. Also, the shop lost the cap to my brake fluid reservoir. They denied it and did not have a replacement. read more

Can't figure out how to give ten starts on here. Vince and the team are great. Were recommended To me by every local that I asked. I have also begun recommending them to every person I know. They never overcharge, are very proficient at their work, and they are very easy to work with. The only downside is sometimes the schedule is full due to all their loyal customers. read more

Vince and his crew are the best in the business when it comes to your automotive repair needs. They check every box of what anybody is ever looking for in regards to professionalism fair pricing being thorough accurate diagnosis and complete any repair in a very timely manner. Marysville is lucky to have such a great small business owner that provides such a valuable service. Thank you again for the great work you did on my GMC Yukon much appreciated. read more

I want to thank Vince for his professionalism and kindness. I was in a bind after a mechanic from Always Mobile Mechanics did not complete the job that I paid him to do. I was driving all around Marysville to try to find a place that could fix the air in my truck before I had to leave for home the next day. I showed up at 5:00 p.m. which was closing time on a Friday. I told my story and situation to Vince and he said, "pull the truck around back". He stayed for an extra hour and fixed the truck so I could safely travel back home. He didn't need to stay and could have said sorry I can't help, but he took me in and I couldn't be more grateful. Please consider visiting their business if need work on your car! read more

Vince is super knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and polite. We've taken both our cars in for service and repairs and totally trust Vince and his work. Price is fair and we do not feel like we're ever being led in the wrong direction (which can be a problem at other shops). We are so happy to have found Tall Guy Small Guy and are so glad to have found a reputable repair shop with good people! We'll continue to bring our cars in and refer our family and friends. read more

Engine light will cost you 100.00!! I was not impressed with the owners attitude as he was more into getting money than he was of wanting to push that it was all kinds of different things and didn't want to listen to anything that I do know my Car and how it has been taken care of !!!! I will never go back there again !!!!!!!! This is how women get taken, Sorry not me I'm not STUPID !!!! I WILL GET MY RELIABLE CAR DONE BY A RELIABLE MECHANIC read more

Needed rear brakes for my Camry and contacted TGSG. They happily provided me an approx. cost which was very reasonable. The repairs were completed and actually less than the original estimate. These guys are very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. They will be our "go to" repair place going forward. read more

Vince always does excellent work at a very reasonable price. He is very honest which is hard to find in the car repair business lol I highly recommend the shop. It's definitely worth having your car towed the extra 20 miles it might take. read more

Went back with a different vehicle for a timing belt service. $600 less than what the dealer quoted. Done well and on time. I've now scheduled another vehicle for a timing belt service. I see no reason to go anywhere else for car repairs. This place is great. read more

Twice now, I've gone to another shop for brakes and the other shop has "found" a list of repairs I have needed. The first time, I naively paid for it. The second time, on my wife's car, when the list was exactly the same, I walked out. I brought my wife's car to Tall Guy Small Guy, and they were able to do the job for about $400 less than the place that was jerking me around. They didn't try to sell me *anything* that we didn't need. I didn't catch the name of the man at the desk, but I didn't get a slimy vibe from him that I got from the old place. They were honest and efficient. It did take about a week to get in, but I'd say the wait likely proves they deserve their Yelp rating. This is our new shop, we won't be going anywhere else. read more

I found this shop doing a Yelp and Google search for reviews last week . I was pleased by the speed and openness of my repair needs. If I had taken it to the dealership I would still be waiting for the appointment I had originally scheduled. Knowing now how much work was needed, I researched how much it would cost at the dealership. I found that I would have paid an additional $1100 at Kia. These guys are great, and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

We live in Snohomish but travel to Marysville just for honest car repair. - Car Repair has to be a tough job as everyone is only coming to them with problems and it always cost to repair problems so us as customers can be a bit cranky when we first engage. It's hard to find really excellent auto service but this place really delivers. I had them do it all, engine replacement, full brake job, belts, hoses, and other maintenance items on my families car/van for over 10 years now and I should have reviewed them a long time ago. They gave me a rapid, accurate estimate and performed the work perfectly. And yes they were willing to work on my battle scarred Geo Metro car even though they typically work on higher end vehicles. This is definitely a great company Vince Peterson is the face and customer service front office guy, and Steve Fry is the gruff, expert repair person. It's rare to find a automotive service provider who deals fairly and does a great job !! read more

My car was due for a timing belt replacement. To my surprised they got it done the same day. This shop charged me a very fair priced compared to what other shop quoted me. I left this shop as a happy customer I will be back for any future repairs with my vehicles. Keep up the good work guys. read more

I'm not one to leave reviews but I truly think people should know how above and beyond these guys are. My jeep started having problems this morning and broke down on the freeway, called them up and without a hesitation they were able to get me in within an hour. Before I even left the shop a mechanic had my keys in his hand and was heading out to work on it. They were in touch with me all day regarding diagnostics and prices, super realistic and straight to the point. They made me feel like my car was their top priority all day and hustled to get MULTIPLE issues fixed. On top of everything the price was completely reasonable. Finding a good mechanic can be so hard sometimes but I would recommend Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive to anyone and will not be taking my vehicles anywhere else! THANK YOU GUYS FOR YOUR AWESOME SERVICE AND MAKING ME SO COMFORTABLE! read more

Took my car in on the recommendation from someone who has been going here for 20 years. They were able to diagnose my issue for free, brought me back and showed me the exact problem. I anticipated the problem being rather expensive, and of course there's always at least 2-3 additional problems once they get under the car. I went in for a strut/spring fix and wound up needing rear brakes, rotors, shocks and my differential serviced, and at the end, all of that work still amounted to being several hundred less than I had anticipated spending on the single fix. And then they fixed everything SAME DAY within 3 hours and had me back in my vehicle. Staff were super honest, kind and professional and I don't feel like I was overcharged or taken advantage of. I would highly recommend any service you need done, should be by this shop. read more

These guys ROCK. First off, let me paint a picture of the timeline. Car gets dropped off Friday morning. They have a diagnosis same day. They quote us a price, which I proceeded to Google. They quoted us the BOTTOM of the range. Sweet, right? Then it turns out the damage is much more extensive. Like say, replacing the ENTIRE engine. They find a way to save us money and give us a quote. I Googled that price. Again, BOTTOM of the price range I found in my research. We say go ahead, they say "have it to you by Thursday." Thursday MORNING they call and say "done! The final price is $xxx" which was about $200 CHEAPER than they originally quoted us. Their website says no hidden costs or fees. They mean it! We went in and paid that exact amount. My only complaint with this shop is that we met them under stressful circumstances. Everything that was in their control, they did so awesome! Fast, affordable, reliable, and honest. Love this shop! Will use for every heartbreaking car emergency from now on. Thanks so much, you guys! read more

They did not correctly diagnose or fix the issue with our car the first time, but after we brought it back to them they were more thorough and the car now appears to be running fine. We're kind of lukewarm on Tall Guy Small Guy at the moment due to the way things went down, but we are likely still going to give them another shot if something else needs repair, so I guess I would consider that an overall favorable rating :-) read more

My 2016 Patriot needed a new alternator, and the first quote I got was almost $800, the second over $650, Then I called Tall Guy, Small Guy and was quoted a much more reasonable price. I was told they could work on it today , by the end of the business day I had a car with a brand new alternator and was driving it home. I also got a very good quote on new brakes for this car and will be getting that done here also. Highly, highly recommend Tall Guy, Small Guy Automotive read more

These guys are amazing! Straightforward, to the point and honest! We brought our Toyota sequoia here after having problem after problem after problem with Marysville Toyota not fixing it properly. Tall guy small guy had the car for less than an hour and a half and solved all of our issues! We are customers for life here! read more

Vince is amazing! This whole shop is AMAZING! We got our car looked at by another shop and before we blew 2k we wanted another option. We have a baby on the way and can't just be blowing money on well we think it's this. So Vince got us in to check things out for us. Turns out the first shop misdiagnosed a blown head gasket but Tall guy Small guy diagnosed it correctly!!! All the tall tail signs of a blown gasket and they knew for sure what it was. We got our car back when they said it would be ready and was under the original quota. Honest, friendly, and reliable shop. You won't go wrong taking your car here. read more

Integrity is hard to find in auto repair businesses. Vince and his team have it. I approved a repair which could have cost over $1500. Final cost came in under $400. I would have not known any better had I been charged the full amount. And by the way, this was for a repair the car dealer said would cost $3200! I have always done my own repairs, but am getting older and need help. I just found my shop. read more

I saw this auto repair on yelp and told my husband that they got good reviews and he should give them a shot! He needed a pretty major job done on his vehicle. He was quoted over a thousand dollars from other places. Tall guy small guy not only beat their prices by HUNDREDS but his bill ended up being even lower than what they quoted him!!!!He was MORE than thrilled and said they were our new mechanics and go to from now on! That says a LOT because he doesn't like most places lol read more

Brought our car in for loud noise. Told Vince thought it was the shroud because it had come down and dragged before. He drove it, said he thought it was a wheel bearing needing to be replaced, even though there was no "wiggle" in it. He said if it was his car he would replace it. So we did. Cost $498. Drove away and loud noise again, took it back and sure enough the shroud had come down again. They "tied" it up, instead of putting bolts back on. Drove away again, and we still had the loud noise. Felt very disappointed that we paid $498 for a wheel bearing that we didn't need. Felt that they should have admitted they didn't look at the shroud in the first place... Won't trust them ever again and will discourage friends never take it there... Feel they are not truly "honest". read more

This guys are awesome, they got me in right away fix the problem and pass the emission, thank you

Vince Peterson (OWNER) and Steve Fry have been running this business for a lot years. The best thing, is that if you bring your vehicle in for repair, the shop does NOT pressure you in trying to do something that is not required. They are honest, efficient and provide the best service. Vince is Certified in many areas of expertise and customer friendly, helpful and if your vehicle doesn't need a special "gee-whiz" part(s), they will tell you so. The prices are great and affordable. Vince and TGSGA was recommended be a local Marysville "Car Guru" friend of mine, I was not disappointed. I had lost all of my oil in my Ford F150, it looked like a Turbo Failure, had oil all over my engine bay. I had visions of new engines, major overhaul dancing in my head. Vince got it in early, I got a call from him at 4pm that evening to tell me they found a defective oil filter o-ring (from Jiffy Lube). The price for the service was very fair, got bad filter to take with me. Responsive service, great customer service, fair price, ASE Cert mechanics... priceless.... read more

Best place I have found in Marysville for any auto needs. Seriously, from oil change and then taking care of my stuck window on my old vehicle window that stopped working. They are a life saver for me. read more

I've worked on my own cars for years and never like anyone else touching them. But breaking down 150 miles from home in a different country left me no choice. Nothing but good business and great work! No one else will work on our vehicles! Thanks!

This place was wonderful to my car and me! I am so pleased and will continue to use them indefinitely!

Great service and these guys wont rip you off...I trust my work trucks with them and so should you!

I love this place, and I probably won't bring my car anywhere else. Very fair prices, and guys I can trust. They once did less work (spent less time) on a 90,000 mile tune-up on my car than was originally quoted, and I walked out of there paying about $200 less than expected. Very cool. They could have stuck with my original quote, and I'd have been none the wiser, but they were honest and trustworthy. I will whole-heartedly recommend this place to anyone who needs work on their vehicle. read more

Will NEVER return to these guys. Started out with a simple failed emissions. After I paid them $550, they kept my car because it still wasn't running right when they pulled it out front for me. Next thing you know, there's a "strange rattling noise coming from the timing belt cover area that needs to be addressed immediately" Well yea it does, that wasn't broken when I dropped my car off. Then they wanted to charge me $840 to fix the broken part that wasn't broken when I dropped it off. After everything is said and done, and I get my car back from them, it is now overheating, leaking antifreeze all over my driveway, and is once again parked. More problems with the car after they were done than when I dropped it off. read more

Yesterday my car completely shut off and wouldn't start. I jump started it and it would start ok, but when I would start driving, it would completely die.... I called Tall Guy Small Guy yesterday and Vince (owner) took my car in as soon as they opened at 8am ( I barely got it there before it shut off again ) I was thinking it would be like the alternator or something really bad ( I only know that "alternator" term because some co-workers were mentioning that it could be that ) Anyway, they called me at 10:43 that my car was ready.... Price $44 buckaroos! The positive connection that goes to the battery wasn't holding tight anymore so it got replaced..... I'm just posting my experience because I just want to say THANKGOODNESS for honest people. When they pulled my car up front and Steve (owner) gave me the keys... he said.... he said something like... " thank you Ana" and I just wanted to cry because like great service, honesty, awesomeness, etc etc.... + YOU said goodbye using my name..... After my "mechanic" experience with other people/car within the last year I just want to say I was so impressed and it just meant a lot. So I had to share how AMAZEBALLS they are and how grateful I am! read more

These guys are just simply amazing! I had engine warning light come on intermittently and went to O'Reillys to see if they could diagnose. Unfortunately my code was a more generic one so the nice guy who helped me recommended Tall Guy Small Guy. Went straight over and within minutes they recommended a simple oil change. Brought back next day, trying to get in before their lunch hour, but was running late. They took care of me immediately, even going to lunch late. No more warning light...for awhile, then suddenly came back on and car was stalling out all the way home in rush hour traffic on I5! Called them at 5 PM and they said to get it back down ASAP. Immediately diagnosed, got me a part, and replaced in less than half hour! Customer service is impeccable and these guys KNOW what they are doing! Will not take my 2015 Chevy anywhere else, even a Chevy dealership. These guys have a customer for life and I tell everyone about them! If you have an issue, take it to Tall Guy Small Guy and they will take exceptional care of you! read more

Yesterday I went to pick up and pay for my vehicle that had been towed to this repair shop. I have been a customer of theirs on several occasions previously.......and always extremely happy w/ the honest and professional way I was treated and how well they did the repairs. This time I had an opportunity to be even more deeply impressed. Apparently 1 year before this vehicle had been repaired for the exact same issue. Cap and rotor. I did not remember as I am an older woman w/ little mechanical knowledge or interest. I was informed that I was only being charged the labor cost as the owners Vince and Steve felt the parts were defective and should have lasted longer than a year since they were properly installed. As I drove my van home I could not help thinking what could have been done at a less ethical repair shop........ I would have been none the wiser. I highly recommend Tall Guy Small Guy they do an excellent job of diagnostics, repair and most important they are honest men. read more

I stopped into Tall Guy Small Guy today, after struggling to find a fair price for my repair. I was feeling stressed due to the fact it was Friday afternoon on on the busy 4th of July holiday weekend, and my rear brake line was broken. I met with Vince one of the owners, and he assured me he would do his best to get this done for me. He pulled my gas tank, pulled my rear brake line. Fabricated a new one on site. Bled my brake line. Put it back together for me in less than 2 hours. And the best part...he took the time to discuss the repair with me, and charged me less than half of what the other shop wanted that morning... This is an Outstanding Good ole boy shop, where the customer is # 1... Thank You...Tall Guy Small Guy... read more
