Not great, unfortunately. I started having brake issues. One wheel would stick after braking and overheat. The shop replaced the calipers and discs, which was expensive. Less than 100 miles later, the problem came back. I had to get everything replaced, and I had to pay for it a second time. When it happened a third time, I gave up and sold the car. I just did not want to deal with it anymore. The new owner later told me it was just a clogged brake line. Also, the shop lost the cap to my brake fluid reservoir. They denied it and did not have a replacement. read more

Twice now, I've gone to another shop for brakes and the other shop has "found" a list of repairs I have needed. The first time, I naively paid for it. The second time, on my wife's car, when the list was exactly the same, I walked out. I brought my wife's car to Tall Guy Small Guy, and they were able to do the job for about $400 less than the place that was jerking me around. They didn't try to sell me *anything* that we didn't need. I didn't catch the name of the man at the desk, but I didn't get a slimy vibe from him that I got from the old place. They were honest and efficient. It did take about a week to get in, but I'd say the wait likely proves they deserve their Yelp rating. If I had taken it to the dealership I would still be waiting for the appointment I had originally scheduled. We live in Snohomish but travel to Marysville just for honest car repair. - Car Repair has to be a tough job as everyone is only coming to them with problems and it always cost to repair problems so us as customers can be a bit cranky when we first engage. It's hard to find really excellent auto service but this place really delivers. I had them do it all, engine replacement, full brake job, belts, hoses, and other maintenance items on my families car/van for over 10 years now and I should have reviewed them a long time ago. They gave me a rapid, accurate estimate and performed the work perfectly. And yes they were willing to work on my battle scarred Geo Metro car even though they typically work on higher end vehicles. I'm not one to leave reviews but I truly think people should know how above and beyond these guys are. My jeep started having problems this morning and broke down on the freeway, called them up and without a hesitation they were able to get me in within an hour. Before I even left the shop a mechanic had my keys in his hand and was heading out to work on it. They were in touch with me all day regarding diagnostics and prices, super realistic and straight to the point. They made me feel like my car was their top priority all day and hustled to get MULTIPLE issues fixed. On top of everything the price was completely reasonable. Took my car in on the recommendation from someone who has been going here for 20 years. They were able to diagnose my issue for free, brought me back and showed me the exact problem. I anticipated the problem being rather expensive, and of course there's always at least 2-3 additional problems once they get under the car. I went in for a strut/spring fix and wound up needing rear brakes, rotors, shocks and my differential serviced, and at the end, all of that work still amounted to being several hundred less than I had anticipated spending on the single fix. And then they fixed everything SAME DAY within 3 hours and had me back in my vehicle. Staff were super honest, kind and professional and I don't feel like I was overcharged or taken advantage of. These guys ROCK. First off, let me paint a picture of the timeline. Car gets dropped off Friday morning. They have a diagnosis same day. They quote us a price, which I proceeded to Google. They quoted us the BOTTOM of the range. Sweet, right? Then it turns out the damage is much more extensive. Like say, replacing the ENTIRE engine. They find a way to save us money and give us a quote. I Googled that price. Again, BOTTOM of the price range I found in my research. We say go ahead, they say "have it to you by Thursday." Thursday MORNING they call and say "done! The final price is $xxx" which was about $200 CHEAPER than they originally quoted us. Their website says no hidden costs or fees. They mean it! We went in and paid that exact amount. My only complaint with this shop is that we met them under stressful circumstances. Everything that was in their control, they did so awesome! Fast, affordable, reliable, and honest. Love this shop! Will use for every heartbreaking car emergency from now on. Thanks so much, you guys! read more

They did not correctly diagnose or fix the issue with our car the first time, but after we brought it back to them they were more thorough and the car now appears to be running fine. We're kind of lukewarm on Tall Guy Small Guy at the moment due to the way things went down, but we are likely still going to give them another shot if something else needs repair, so I guess I would consider that an overall favorable rating :-) read more

My 2016 Patriot needed a new alternator, and the first quote I got was almost $800, the second over $650, Then I called Tall Guy, Small Guy and was quoted a much more reasonable price. I was told they could work on it today , by the end of the business day I had a car with a brand new alternator and was driving it home. We have a baby on the way and can't just be blowing money on well we think it's this. So Vince got us in to check things out for us. I would have not known any better had I been charged the full amount. And by the way, this was for a repair the car dealer said would cost $3200! Brought our car in for loud noise. Told Vince thought it was the shroud because it had come down and dragged before. He drove it, said he thought it was a wheel bearing needing to be replaced, even though there was no "wiggle" in it. He said if it was his car he would replace it. So we did. Cost $498. Drove away and loud noise again, took it back and sure enough the shroud had come down again. They "tied" it up, instead of putting bolts back on. Drove away again, and we still had the loud noise. Felt very disappointed that we paid $498 for a wheel bearing that we didn't need. Felt that they should have admitted they didn't look at the shroud in the first place... Won't trust them ever again and will discourage friends never take it there... Feel they are not truly "honest". read more

I had lost all of my oil in my Ford F150, it looked like a Turbo Failure, had oil all over my engine bay. I had visions of new engines, major overhaul dancing in my head. Yesterday my car completely shut off and wouldn't start. I jump started it and it would start ok, but when I would start driving, it would completely die.... I called Tall Guy Small Guy yesterday and Vince (owner) took my car in as soon as they opened at 8am ( I barely got it there before it shut off again ) I was thinking it would be like the alternator or something really bad ( I only know that "alternator" term because some co-workers were mentioning that it could be that ) Anyway, they called me at 10:43 that my car was ready.... Will NEVER return to these guys. Started out with a simple failed emissions. After I paid them $550, they kept my car because it still wasn't running right when they pulled it out front for me. Next thing you know, there's a "strange rattling noise coming from the timing belt cover area that needs to be addressed immediately" Well yea it does, that wasn't broken when I dropped my car off. Then they wanted to charge me $840 to fix the broken part that wasn't broken when I dropped it off. After everything is said and done, and I get my car back from them, it is now overheating, leaking antifreeze all over my driveway, and is once again parked. These guys are just simply amazing! I had engine warning light come on intermittently and went to O'Reillys to see if they could diagnose. Unfortunately my code was a more generic one so the nice guy who helped me recommended Tall Guy Small Guy. Went straight over and within minutes they recommended a simple oil change. Brought back next day, trying to get in before their lunch hour, but was running late. They took care of me immediately, even going to lunch late. No more warning light...for awhile, then suddenly came back on and car was stalling out all the way home in rush hour traffic on I5! Called them at 5 PM and they said to get it back down ASAP. Immediately diagnosed, got me a part, and replaced in less than half hour! Customer service is impeccable and these guys KNOW what they are doing! Will not take my 2015 Chevy anywhere else, even a Chevy dealership. These guys have a customer for life and I tell everyone about them! Yesterday I went to pick up and pay for my vehicle that had been towed to this repair shop. I have been a customer of theirs on several occasions previously.......and always extremely happy w/ the honest and professional way I was treated and how well they did the repairs. This time I had an opportunity to be even more deeply impressed. Apparently 1 year before this vehicle had been repaired for the exact same issue. Cap and rotor. I did not remember as I am an older woman w/ little mechanical knowledge or interest. I was informed that I was only being charged the labor cost as the owners Vince and Steve felt the parts were defective and should have lasted longer than a year since they were properly installed. As I drove my van home I could not help thinking what could have been done at a less ethical repair shop........ I would have been none the wiser. I stopped into Tall Guy Small Guy today, after struggling to find a fair price for my repair. I was feeling stressed due to the fact it was Friday afternoon on on the busy 4th of July holiday weekend, and my rear brake line was broken. I met with Vince one of the owners, and he assured me he would do his best to get this done for me. He pulled my gas tank, pulled my rear brake line. Fabricated a new one on site. Bled my brake line. Put it back together for me in less than 2 hours. And the best part...he took the time to discuss the repair with me, and charged me less than half of what the other shop wanted that morning...
