Pacific Outdoor completely redid our backyard, front yard landscaping, put pavers on the driveway, built us a pool, and we couldn't be happier!! They transformed the outside of our home, and it now looks and feels like a magazine spread! Just today, I received compliments from two separate strangers on the front yard. We constantly get compliments on the appearance of our home. Samantha was the landscape architect who created the design, and it was amazing to see her lay out the vision. She saved us space in ways I definitely couldn't have conceived of on my own. She said the remodel would be like doubling our living space, and she was right! Scott oversaw the construction from start to finish. He was very attentive and obviously cared about and was fully invested in the success of the project. He had an expertise with plants and gave great guidance to give me the colors I wanted in plants that would work for our space and the SoCal heat. I am constantly smiling at the plants Scott suggested. They are thriving, and I wouldn't change a thing. The crew was respectful, clean and did a beautiful job. It was a long project, but Pacific Outdoor kept their initial timeline. Our main reason for going with Pacific Outdoor was that they were a one-stop shop. They could do everything. They truly delivered, and it is better than we ever imagined! It was so easy to look at their choices and select what we wanted. They had a wide variety of design choices. We replaced most of the grass in the back with their pavers and used the same pavers for our driveway. They look fantastic. We have a neighbor that had Pacific Outdoor build them a firepit that they love. We received great guidance and attention from the full team all along the way. They didn't quit until the project was finished to our satisfaction. (They had also done an excellent job on the pool deck five years earlier, before I knew I was going to fill in the pool.) I have been very pleased with the results, which have really elevated my enjoyment of my home's outdoor areas. I would also caution anyone considering going with System Pavers to steer clear of those crooks. I wasted thousands of dollars having them do a terrible job on my pool deck, and had to have Pacific rip out their work and fix it. It was an expensive mistake that I hope to save others from repeating. If I had gone with Pacific in the first place, I would have saved lots of money and hassle. After work on a minor repair was completed as part of our recent large project, I inquired with Jorge the supervisor about a couple of areas that needed attention in our driveway. One was a root issue and the other an oil stain left from my wife's vintage vehicle which she no longer owns. Jorge assessed the situation, gave me a quote which I accepted and then he scheduled the work for two days later. That day was today and Emilio who did the minor repair days earlier was here again to fix the two problem areas. Long story short, Emilio did a great job of fixing the problem and installing new pavers where there were oil stains. My wife and I couldn't find where the original pavers ended and the new pavers began. Emilio was neat, professional and very good at repairing paver stone surfaces. I'm sure these people are good to their clients, but to the neighbors they really don't care. I was trying to leave my house, opened my garage door, and found they blocked my driveway with their equipment, my trash bins they moved without my permission, and parts of the tree they were cutting down from my new neighbor's property. I told them I needed to leave and they said it would take them 10 minutes. This caused me to be late to my appointment. As I waited for them to clear the tree and their equipment, I saw one of their supervisors drive by in the Pacific Outdoor Living truck and he did nothing. I'm trying to be friendly with my new neighbor so I informed her of the situation. She said she would talk to them and it wouldn't happen again. I did witness her talking to them to be more respectful of my property. I wish someone from Pacific Outdoor Living would have rang the doorbell asking if they could move my bins and have access to my driveway so they could have easier access to cut the tree down. I would have been happy to move the bins and move my car out of my garage. They did not offer me this courtesy. Also, the fact the just left the bins in the middle of my driveway causing additional barriers to leave my own garage. I continued to find their trash in my bins the rest of the time they were working there for the two weeks. I opted not to say anything to the new neighbor because again I'm trying to be civil. They are now gone and I'm finding new trash they left behind on my property. This shows lack of professionalism. Also, if they are cutting corners not properly communicating to the neighbors imagine what corners they are cutting with their clients. read more

Jose & Jorge were great to work with. No issues with scheduling and installation; they occurred as prescribed and my backyard is mostly as requested. My issue is with the concrete and work warranty. Installation completed in May 2025. I started having spalling/scaling issues with the concrete in Aug 2025, see pics attached taken in early Sep. It took 3 months for Trent (owner) to come look at it and another 3 months for the concrete supplier to come look at it. I requested replacement. It's now June 2026 and I have no idea when/if it will be replaced. No one has reached out since our meeting in March. Jose & Jorge deserve 5 stars. I'm giving 1 star here for the lacking warranty support. If this ever get's resolved, I will update my rating. read more

Full Backyard Transformation - Outstanding Experience! We recently completed a full backyard rebuild, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The team delivered quick, on-time results with excellent communication throughout the project. Having a project coordinator on-site every day made a huge difference. Khalil, our project coordinator, was exceptional. He guided us through every step of the process and continues to be available for any questions even after completion. Having someone that reliable and responsive made the whole experience smooth and stress-free--truly worth every penny. My wife and I decided it was time to update our backyard. Our pool was over 30 years old, showing its age, and losing water daily--which was becoming very costly. The yard also had multiple mismatched concrete patches from previous repairs, so we wanted a clean, uniform hardscape. What started as a pool upgrade quickly evolved into a full redesign. We relocated the pool equipment to open up more usable space and added a large covered patio to address the lack of shade. While redoing the pool, we chose to completely overhaul the hardscape using pavers to help prevent future cracking--especially important here in California with frequent seismic activity. Going into a project of this size, we were honestly concerned. We had heard plenty of horror stories from friends and family about delays and poor coordination. Thankfully, that was not our experience at all. The crews were incredibly consistent, organized, and efficient. Work was done every single day, which gave us confidence that the project was always moving forward. The original timeline was about two months, and they actually finished ahead of schedule--even with holiday breaks and two weeks of rain. We started in late November and wrapped up before the end of January 2026. Despite the scale of the project, the team did a great job keeping the site clean and manageable. After each phase, they cleaned up thoroughly. During heavy rains, they even covered exposed areas to control mud and ensure proper drainage--something we really appreciated. Overall, we have zero complaints. The entire process was smooth, professional, and well-executed. We would absolutely use them again for any future outdoor renovations. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Pacific Outdoor Living, and specifically designer Julian Montford, was so disappointing that I feel obligated to share it. Two years ago, after receiving a recommendation from a neighbor, I hired Pacific Outdoor Living to create a landscape design for my backyard. I paid for a site map and design plan. While the design was acceptable overall, it included trees planted directly in front of a beautiful view, which seemed like a major oversight. At the time, I decided not to move forward with the project for unrelated reasons. Two years later, I contacted Julian Montford again because I felt the original design had potential and simply needed some revisions. This time, Julian came to my property in person. We spent considerable time discussing new ideas and improvements. He took photos, asked questions, and appeared engaged in the project. Then I heard nothing. After several weeks, I reached out to ask when I might expect a revised plan. My backyard is relatively small, so I did not anticipate a lengthy design process. I received a brief response indicating it would be a few more weeks. I waited until that deadline passed. Again, there was no communication. After following up once more, I finally received a plan by email with no explanation, no notes, and no discussion--just a file labeled "revised plan." The problem? It was essentially the same plan from two years earlier, with the trees removed and very little else changed. None of the ideas we had discussed during the site visit appeared to have been incorporated. Frustrated by the lack of communication and the significant amount of time wasted waiting, I called Julian. I could not reach him and left a voicemail. The only response I received was: "We are not a good fit for you." At that point, I contacted the company and requested to speak with a supervisor. I explained my experience and made it clear that before posting a negative review, I wanted to understand what had happened and whether there was any way to correct the situation. I was connected with Stephanie, who stated she needed a few days to review the facts and get back to me. That was three weeks ago. I have never received a follow-up call, email, or any acknowledgment from the company. The most frustrating part of this experience was not the design itself. It was the complete lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism. Months were wasted waiting for responses and revisions that never materialized. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Pacific Outdoor Living. If communication, follow-through, and respect for your time are important to you, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

We used Pacific Outdoor Living for a complete backyard makeover three years ago, and it still looks amazing today. Their process made all the difference. They first came to our house, then created a CAD drawing along with a cost estimate. You pay for that step, and if you want to move forward, the next step is a 3D drawing. After reviewing the drawings, they move into preparing the plans, and once you receive those, you sign the contract and the work begins. It's a great way to see exactly what you'll be getting before making the full commitment. We met with several other companies and even paid two of them to complete drawings, but Pacific's was the only one that truly captured what we wanted. They stayed on time and on budget. To clarify, we adjusted our budget to achieve the desired features, but Pacific completed the project at the exact price they quoted. They did subcontracted the patio to Tiger Patio, which brought some unnecessary complexity to the project. The patio looks beautiful, but it did come at an additional cost. Everything else, however, was handled beautifully by Pacific. Even now, three years later, they have continued to be a resource whenever we've had questions about maintenance. Overall, Pacific Outdoor Living delivered outstanding work with a thoughtful, step-by-step process that makes you confident in your investment. After interviewing and getting quotes from over a dozen contractors, we decided to go with Pacific Outdoor Living to completely remodel our backyard. At first I was a little reticent to pay the nominal fee to have someone come out and measure our property, I didn't want to feel locked-in to any one contractor, but by the end of our remodel that nominal fee was the best money I've spent. Of all the contractors I interviewed, Pacific Outdoor Living was by far the most professional and not just in the bidding process, once they were onsite working they were very courteous, professional, thorough and a pleasure to work with. From the beginning till then end of the project, I was assigned a dedicated foreman, Khalil. While I can't say enough good things about Pacific Outdoor Living, Khalil, really made the backyard remodel process seamless and shockingly, even enjoyable. Throughout the project, Khalil suggested changes to the design to maximize our enjoyment of the backyard. All of his suggestions were spot-on and with-in budget. He couldn't do enough to make sure everything was perfect. For example, at the very end of the project, one of our side gates wasn't closing properly. This was likely due to wear-and-tear, and wasn't even part of the project. I mentioned it in passing to Khalil, thinking he could refer me to someone that could fix the problem. Within 30 minutes Khalil was onsite with his tool bag fixing our gate. He said the person he thought of to fix it wasn't available, so he thought he'd just come out himself, at no charge. Pacific Outdoor Living redid our Pool and Pavers. We decided to change things up and raise our spa to make it easier to get in to and then ripped out all the concrete and put is pavers. Best decision ever. We also go new pool equipment. Ours was originally in the garage (pool was put in a long time ago when that was allowed). Now we have all new equipment and heater in the corner of the yard where it belongs and is easier to get to. We also had them rebuild the planter retaining wall on the other side of the fence from the pool. They did an amazing job. read more
