Our place had no truly hot water as the tanks were from the 90s and quite corroded. I was impressed they even gave us lukewarm water, tbh. Anyway, that's too big of a job for my DIY mind to tackle so we called the awesome guy who helps my boyfriend at his business, Jesus! Jesus is pretty busy so prepare to schedule out a bit. He arrived as scheduled, though, and even found a way to come back later because we had bought the wrong parts. SMH. We exchanged them right away based on his recommendations and now we have super hot water. Yay! When he's working, Jesus is super focused and works fast. I tried to offer him snacks or a drink but he only took a water and concentrated wholly on the tasks for the rest of the time... until the end when he asked if we'd like to use the old tanks as yard decor or have him take them away. Haha During his return visit, he also did a quick fix on a leaky, loud toilet and took a look at some of the other shower / faucet fixes we need help with. CH services was the lowest by far at $150, compared to $350+ for other bids. Went to Benjamin Moore paints to get the right paint, and found out the hard way that they are not related to Kelly Moore interior acrylic flat wall paint 550-27-bone. My neighbor had just used the paint to do touch up work in his garage, and borrowed his, saving me $20, the cost of a quart of paint at Kelly Moore. Yep, same color for interior of his garage as my living room ceiling. Took Carlos H a week to find time to come out to my place. Meanwhile I provided the 16' ladder needed to reach the hole in my cathedral ceiling, the right paint, an industrial grade 24" fan, along with the original cut out portion of the ceiling. Carlos made a wooden frame on the inside of the ceiling, and then put wood screws in the cut out portion, fitting it inside the ceiling hole. He applied some puddy along the cracks of the opening. I mounted the 24" industrial grade fan on the top of my cat tower furniture, just below the mending ceiling hole. First use of the cat furniture in years, as my senior cat too lazy to use it anymore. Carlos waiting a while for the puddy to dry, and then applied paint directly to the ceiling with a brush, holding the can of paint in his other hand. Texture of the paint did not match the roller brush original, but not easily discernable from the ground 12' below. Work done in 90 minutes, with two intervals of waiting for things to dry. Carlos worked without a drop cloth , but no paint found on carpets below. When you get the lowest bidder, he's going to take some short cuts!

The part though that really bothers me is that, after all this, they also took my baseboard from the wall. No idea what they did with it. I called asking where it was and they never called me back. I'm now having to spend more money to get a custom baseboard created to match the rest of the room. I don't enjoy not supporting local businesses, but the fact that I'm now having to spend more money because of the baseboard being taken instead of this being compensated for is the reason I'm posting this. Poor Service, Overpriced, and Incomplete Work…read more I had a disappointing experience with this plumber. A few days after he performed a descaling on my Navien tankless water heater, an error code appeared. When I called him, his immediate response was that the recirculation pump had broken down and that it wasn't his fault if mechanical parts fail. I asked him to at least come and inspect the unit before making that determination over the phone, but he said the earliest he could come was four days later and "this is not on him". I did my own research and consulted another plumber. I was able to clear the error code myself simply by cleaning the filters. According to maintenance guidelines, a proper annual service should include both descaling the heat exchanger and cleaning the filters. Descaling alone is not considered complete maintenance, which means the service I received was incomplete. On top of that, the pricing was not transparent. He initially quoted $99, but when he arrived he demanded $175. Overall, I found the workmanship poor, the customer service dismissive, and the pricing unjustified. I cannot recommend this plumber based on my experience.
