I was always impressed by their selection and price when I lived in the area. But yesterday, coming from out of town I had a disgusting visit. Muddy potholes all over the parking lot left little area to walk safely. Definitely not a place to bring a nice car!! If you are expecting smaller pieces of flagstone I do not recommend going here. Came a few times to finalize on our paver selection. We were on a tight budget and wanted something that would be not too costly. Emeralda was very patient and attentive me. In the end, we found something from the sale section, which was convenient and at the right price for our small area. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that you have to buy in certain set quantities. Otherwise things become more expensive and sometimes there will be some wasted material (eg layers charge more per sq ft and only in incremental fixed layer amounts when not doing full pallets. Also you dont have any option of buying single stones) . However, I guess this is the reality of the landscaping supply business so not faulting them for it. read more

I had a few problems with my bill and order, but they called me and helped troubleshoot. Customer service is great, highly recommend customers to clearly check the bill and understand the different fees before making a payment vs asking the business in grievance later. I've been here 3 or 4 times trying to select pavers and border for our courtyard. Esmeralda has helped me each time and she's just great! She patiently answers all of my questions and is always willing to go hunt down samples for me, even when others couldn't find them. I appreciate that she never rushes me and is able to explain all of the subtle differences in the different types of pavers. She thoroughly understands the different types of products. Had Dan deliver my order of 14 yards of material on black road. He's the best truck driver I've seen, dumps the load on the tarp! Most drivers miss it or totally miss it. They charge a hefty price on delivery due to being in the mountains, though I'm still very close to downtown. There was a mistake on the order when it was transposed, I rejected half the load and they brought in the right material before noon! They even added in an extra yard which was super grateful. I'd defintiely will be ordering 5+ truck loads in the future from them, prices are cheap and they actually deliver out here. Careful with their compost though, it has shards of glass and plastic, it's pretty typical but a bummer. read more

After callling them and going round and round about the delivery with the manager because they could "see" my driveway on google maps.. so couldn't garantee delivery and would charge me regardless. So I delay the delivery until they came out and looked. Ridiculous since I told them I've had dumptrucks, dumpsters, and fire trucks down my driveway. So after they came out and looked and said oh sure we can deliver we can do it tomorrow. They call me in the morning g and tell me the price and they want to gouge me $135 for deliver even though I'm 5 miles away. Why wouldn't they tell me. I'm ordering 4 yards of bark for $59 a yard and they want to take on a $135 delivery fee ummm WHY WOULDNT YOU PUT TELL ME THAT UP FRONT????? What a completely unprofessional now they have delayed my project 1 week. To top it off when I'm expressing how I feel like they should have mentioned this, they hung up on me. I've heard a lot of good things about the soil quality here from friends of mine who do a lot of gardening. As the garden coordinator for my school, when my gardening club needed to buy a large amount of soil to make up for our lack of composting during covid, I immediately thought of Evergreen Supply. The amount that we needed would wipe out about 75% of our club's budget but we really needed good planting mix so the kids decided to buy nine yards. When I went to pay, I asked if we could get any sort of discount since we were a school, hoping for maybe 10 or 20% off or free delivery or something like that. Instead, I was shocked and extremely grateful when the entire price was waived! Who does that??? It was such a generous and kind thing to do for my students! The delivery came right on time (the window was 9-10AM and it arrived by about 915AM), they unloaded the soil exactly where we asked them to, and the planter mix has a beautiful texture, smell (for those gardeners who love the smell of manure in the morning), and appearance. Wish I could give NO stars! Never ever use this place! We had a large order of quartz and landscaping rocks that was placed a week ahead for delivery today. We paid for the order, prepped the space, moved our cars and our landscapers were here first thing this morning ready for the delivery. Evergreen was supposed to give us a call 20 min before delivery to tell us they are in their way. So... here we all are, waiting, no call - so we call them and they say they have NO ROCKS available and have canceled our order. Our landscaper is now out a day's work, he has to pay his crew, and we have to wait and find an alternate source. So many things messed up with this... why didn't we get a call? Why wasn't this canceled far in advance (not day of with all the workers already here!) and, why could we even put an order in for product they didn't have??? Evergreen's response? "Yeah, sorry..." they don't care, no empathy, no fix. NEVER using them ever again. read more

This is my first ever review on Yelp. I was very impressed how they handled a unfortunate blunder during delivery, I think it deserves a mention here. I ordered 2 cu-yd of planter mix, and due to a mistake of the delivery guy they dumped 2 more cu-yd of top soil (destined to some one else) on top of the planter mix I ordered. I have no use for top soil and it spoiled the planter mix as well. And my drive way was messy. It was disappointing, but they did respond very well since then. Delivery guy promised me a call from his team. I was bit worried they are going to leave the dump in my drive way for couple of days and all the mess. But the team followed-up with multiple calls and came to my home next day itself. Now the delivery person (I think TJ) explained me what he is going to do, evacuated all 4 cu-yd mix from my drive way, cleaned after his work, then delivered the mix I asked. Team was very kind and professional. Impressed how they handled the messy situation. Hope the product will turn out good as well. read more

Great place to get all your outdoor supply needs. The ladies in the office are super busy so just be patient when needing help. They are quick and responsive. Worked out deliveries with them and its awesome! Vanessa helped me facilitate my pavers, pebbles, glues, nails and whatever stuff I bought over the years. She is always able to help me when I walked in. It makes a person feel like a VIP when you walk in and you see that familiar face and smile welcoming you. And when she isn't around, Blanca and Jose picks its up for me and helps me out. The staff in the front cashiers are also fast and efficient. Never had any problem with this company. Even the forklift drivers outside are friendly. I think management has to be blamed for this excellent crew of people working there. I'm just thankful for these folks. I had just gone to the competition; although I didn't know it at the time that there was no competition, and was turned away with a we can't help you. Polite, but I guess a little old lady on cane asking questions was too much. I went down the road to Evergreen Supply to find landscaping rocks/weed block etc. for the backyard. Everybody I spoke to understood me, every single person was incredibly polite, and they directed me to someone who could give me the assistance that I needed. They explained the process , and asked if I needed help. When I said, yes, they said just ask anybody out there. The gentleman who is working the quotes phone in the office, could not have been more pleasant to make certain that I got help. The gentleman who was working the skiff, also picked out/up and loaded all of the flagstone that I wanted. He was incredibly kind and very thorough. He explained me that they weigh my car before they add the product and weigh it after. I have a property that needs this done on both the back and front yard. I'm so grateful that I know where I can get all of my landscaping/home scaping met for a reasonable price! I have used evergreen several times now for various landscaping products I needed in bulk. Each time I called ahead with beginner questions and each time the people I've talked to were very patient with me and walked me through to help me figure out what I needed and how much of it. On one occasion when I had more specific soil questions that the person at the front wasn't sure about, She had their soil expert call me right back and talk to me at length until I was confident in my choice. The delivery itself was great - most times I could get it scheduled next business day. Two times now the delivery happened during the one hr window I was quoted- how often does that happen?! I went there ordered 4 yard of red lava stones and paid for delivery as well . Delivery was right on time with very friendly lady driver. Buyer beware!! Last month, I purchased over $2,000 worth of hardscape and supplies, which included $300 of weed cover (6 rolls). I ended up only needing 5 rolls of weed cover, so I contacted Evergreen Supply on Monterey Hwy and was transferred to the manager who told me nothing is returnable (whether unopened or not; whether with a receipt or not). He offered no explanation or "sorry." I rate this company as 0 customer service. That is $50 I am out, which isn't a large amount, but it is the principle of the matter. Nowhere is their anything on the receipt about returns at all. Nowhere was there a sign that said no returns on items purchased in the office/store (ie. shovels, gardening supplies, weed cover, etc.). I do believe that an item should be returnable by law, unless a receipt states it is not. Suffice to say, I will never purchase anything from this company again, nor will I refer friends to them.
