Everyday Wines has a super impressive collection of N/A beverages and I love how you can buy individual cans to build your own four pack so that you can taste multiple varieties without committing to a larger order. In particular I've loved the Atletic brewing IPAs and I think the "fauxgroni" is a great 0% drink although it comes across as more of an Aperol spritz due to the lightness and carbonation. I have been a customer of Everyday Wine for several years. I have always received excellent service. Mary and staff work to find high quality wines that you won't feel guilty about buying and drinking. All of the reviews are written by the staff and the don't just reprint what the distributor offers. Also, no pricing gimmicks like you see at some of the larger shops in the area (i.e.: normal price $55 , Blah Blah price $17.99). Mary and staff don't play that game. I suggest when you go in, engage the staff on what you are looking for as they will quickly recommend a few different wines. I don't give out a lot of 5 paw ratings, but Everyday Wines has earned it by years of good service and excellent wine at reasonable prices. read more

It's not a particularly big wine shop, but they carry some nice labels. The staff seemed mostly knowledgeable and friendly, including imparting a few tips about wine and food pairing ideas, etc. The prices are average for the Ann Arbor area, including a fairly high sticker price inflation on their lower market labels. I found a few nice French reds and a decent Chardonnay here. If you aren't bothered by spending a bit of money, spend a little extra and splurge on slightly more expensive labels instead of trying to "economize" on a lesser bottle that's only moderately cheaper. read more

I have yet to buy wine here for myself but I had such a positive experience as a bystander (while my colleague bought some wine) that I will be coming back here anytime I need to hit the bottle. A quick browse around the joint revealed most bottles to be about 10-20 bucks and that is already something that puts me at ease. Secondly, the woman who came to talk to us was so genuinely friendly and down-to-earth that I felt like buying up the whole store. She conveyed information in a wholly unpretentious fashion, like how long a certain wine needed to be decantered and why. The interior is welcoming, organized, easy to take in. The location is convenient especially if you're also getting some ingredients from Monahan's or Sparrow Meat Market or any place else in Kerrytown. And the service is spectacular. Great for a completely noobie or a seasoned veteran as long as you don't carry faux sommelier airs around you. I'm holding off one star until I actually purchase and try the wines that are suggested to me, but otherwise, this place is a hidden treasure that everyone should uncover. read more

PEOPLE this is THE best place to make your wine purchase in town. they try everything they sell in the store (so you know it's good) and the prices are very comparable to Kroger and definitely cheaper than Whole Foods. they always have a very broad selection and the staff is friendly and can answer your questions, even if the place is packed (which it often is on the weekend) the tasting hour is just okay, but it's great if you want to try something unique My favorite pickings have been some nebbiolo and tempranillo selections :D read more

I just walked out of here. I wanted a bottle of Burgundy. I brought it up to the counter and handed the lady behind the counter my debit card. I say "chip reader, right?" She says "no, everything but debit is chip. I need to swipe your debit card." I say "no, just use my credit card with the chip." She then says "no, it's safe" and moves to swipe my debit card. I stopped her and insisted on my credit card again. She says no AGAIN and tries to swipe the debit. So I reach for my card and SHE PULLED THE CARD AWAY FROM ME. I then demanded my card back and she handed it to me. I say goodbye and walked out. The customer gets to choose which card is used, not the clerk. During COVID-19 I find it very impressive to find small businesses adapting to serve their customers. I sure am glad that I found Everyday Wines in this challenging time and their superb service. I was able to have a contact-less delivery to someone who had to spend their 21st birthday in quarantine. Not only did they attach a personal note wishing the person a happy birthday, but also added an extra beer in my original order of 4. Really, really, appreciated it! Their prices are more than fair and have a great variety. I will definitely be a customer again, hopefully once all of this craziness is over. read more

Let me just preface this by saying that I'm the guy who saw SIDEWAYS and decided to buy a bottle of wine. I am not proud of that fact, but it's true. Everyday Wines first introduced me to wine-drinking, and I really appreciated the ways that the owner made an effort to include cards with descriptions of the wines' flavors and potential meal suggestions to accompany them. Furthermore, the owner is maybe the nicest woman on the planet, and I found her willing to suggest different options depending on my tastes and plans. She seems to love her job. They strive to collect a variety of different kinds of wine and I know that they make sure to keep several good options under $12. I have gambled and snagged some random bottles for no reason other than they were in my price range, and they have usually paid off. This place is exactly what you want in a small business. It has a good selection, it's centrally located, and it's locally owned. It's like the Shaman Drum of wine stores. I am planning on moving back to Ann Arbor in 8-10 months and this is one of the first places I plan on visiting after I return. read more

Love it here! On my first day in Ann Arbor I figured I should have a bottle of wine while unpacking in my Kerrytown apartment and decided to check this place out, as it is only a few blocks away. The woman running the store, seemingly the owner, was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I came in with really no sense of direction and she nailed my wine taste and sent me home with two bottles for about $20 total- both of which I loved. The selection may be limited, but I found this a bit of a relief as I didn't need hundreds to choose from. The short tidbits of info on the signage, combined with her additional information made choosing my bottles very easy. This will definitely serve as my "go-to" wine store in the area. Hands down, one of my favorite businesses. Period. Here's why: 1) It's small. Not at all overwhelming, but plenty of choices, especially since Mary, the owner, always can direct you to a variety of different wines, regions, price ranges, etc. 2) Mary only chooses good wine. I have never spend more than $25.00 and usually don't spend more than $15 but have never had a bottle of wine that I didn't love. Really. Amazing! 3) Her prices are great. She chooses modest, undiscovered and underappreciated wines so you don't pay for the name or posturing, just the contents of the bottle. 4) It is a small, independant store. Mary is usually on-site; her customer service is great and she will go out of her way to make your visit successful. I go there from Detroit whenever possible to support her and enjoy the wines that I get from her. read more

There are other places with a better selection of wine in the Ann Arbor area, but few have this kind of ambience. It's part of the Kerrytown shops, and they probably get a lot of business from people who are shopping at Sparrow Market or stopping in at Sweetwater cafe. The store is small, but they have a lot of lesser known wines. They had several Tempranillos I'd never run across at the other places I shop for wine, for instance. Like the name "Everyday Wines" would suggest, this store is unpretentious. The decor is modern and spare, and the wines are displayed simply. They do have the fancy bottles of wine at $25 and up, but they also showcase about an equal number of wines ranging from $7 to $12, which is more my price range. read more

About 20 minutes ago, I fell in love with Everyday Wines. I popped in for a spell while on a milk-gathering mission (destination: BP on Main for cheapest gallons in Kerrytown), upon recalling some rumors of a small but tasty selection of beer. Indeed, small and tasty it did appear, and in truth I'd have little use for their limited selection except for this one important fact: They will break a six-pack. And my mind was blown. I rarely want to drink six of any beer in close temporal proximity, and being the solitary drinker I am, this was a profound discovery. The nearby liquor stores will not break six-packs. Trader Joe's and Bello Vino (bless their merchant souls) kindly will, but that requires driving, which I like far less than the 2-minute, sweat-panted stroll over to EW. As for the wine, looks like they have some good (and affordable) options (noticed an attractive Riesling for $8.99--hard to beat), but I have not tried any. Seems a good alternative to Trader Joe's for affordable picks. I'm looking forward to my single Dogfish Head 60-minute IPA (cost: $1.60). And kind people work there. That's worth supporting, too. read more

The owners/workers here know the intimate details of the wines they sell, they offer advice on how long a bottle needs to breathe, and they are very, very nice about helping you find a bottle in your budget. I attended a special tasting event at Everyday Wines tonight and sampled five wines along with a seriously tasty platter of Zingerman's goods. I'm from a California wine region (gotta love the punchy Paso reds) and had very much missed the intimate wine-tasting experience my friends and I received tonight! I realize that this particular setting was unusual--a few friends and I went as part of a law school charity auction item--but Jackie and Mary are treasures and I would encourage anyone who goes in to Everyday Wines to really take advantage of their deep knowledge of wine and their insistence on not overpaying for the best of it! Everyday Wines is selective yet unpretentious. As we learned tonight, every week they taste over a dozen wines and will not sell anything they don't think is reasonably priced or worth the tag. They specialize in rare grapes. Everyone should be able to enjoy wine like this! I would recommend discussing wine with Mary and Jackie in terms of the food it will be paired with! They also let us know that Everyday Wines has awesome tasting events with food from AA specialty stores/restaurants on Saturdays! I attended a wine tasting at Everyday Wines yesterday and have become a convert. Jackie and Mary were amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable about wine and Their passion for it clearly shows through and is impressive. The vetting process for a wine to make it into the store is also quite extensive. They told us how they try around 18 wines a week, and some weeks, no wine passes the bar to be sold there. The commitment was not only about quality, but about price. Everyday Wines actively seeks out delicious yet reasonably priced bottles in the 10-20 dollar range. They also carry more than just the standard grapes that can be found at any old grocery store. So if you're looking for something new, I definitely recommend stopping in. Jackie and Mary made such an impression on me, that despite the slightly long walk for me to get there, I don't think I'll buy wine from anyone else. read more

I absolutely adore this place and the wonderful people who run it. I love wine, but don't know much about it and, as a graduate student, tend to shy away from any bottle priced above $15. Before finding Everyday Wines, I tended to just blindly shop around at Trader Joe's--sometimes that turned out great, other times not so much. But now that I've found Everyday Wines, it is my go-to place and I couldn't be happier. The folks who run the shop are so great--no matter what's for dinner, they have consistently recommended a perfect pairing to go with the food I listed. They're incredibly knowledgeable and ready to help, but are also happy to step back and let you wander around by yourself if that's what you'd prefer. The selection of wines truly is fantastic--it's a small shop, and every bottle that makes it past the shop's selective screening process is both delicious and reasonably priced. Full disclosure: I am a friend of Everyday Wines' owner Mary Campbell. That said, I really love this place. It is a local wine shop that I really trust. I know for a fact that they taste every vintage that they choose to carry and only carry the wines that the staff actually likes. Think about that: a wine shop where every single wine has been approved by a group of tasters! I've seen some comments about how the selection is too small, but I personally can get overwhelmed by the selection of wines at some shops and because I know how these have been selected, I trust that I will get a good wine. Anyway, Mary is great - they are good at recommendations. The prices are good and the hemp wine carriers are awesome (I've received several compliments on mine.) A great example of quality over quantity, they have one of the smaller wine selections you can find in Ann Arbor but the quality makes it that you can pretty much pick up any bottle and be guaranteed a good wine. Great Rose section, we have started to get into that style and they have a great selection there, we have tried so many of them and most of them are really quite good. I like this place a lot. It's my go-to spot for wine in Ann Arbor. I have been searching for several months for a place to fill the gap in my life left by Wine and Cheese Cask, which I left behind in Somerville, Mass. There I knew that any bottle I picked up, whether from the cheap bottom rack or expensive top rack, would be very good and often excellent. Everyday Wines has a pretty small selection, as some have noted. But what they have is good and I can always find a selection of affordable options. I know good wine when I taste it, and I know bad wine when I taste it. I am not so knowledgeable, however, that I walk into a wine store looking for a precise vintage and chateau. If that is your style you won't like this place, as it does not have a huge selection. Village Corner and Morgan&York are more your speed. EW has a few French whites, a few French reds, a few Italian whites, a few Italian reds, etc. Most places don't discount unless you buy a full case, which makes it tough to experiment on the cheap. Not true of EW; the first time you buy six bottles they give you a resuable, very cute linen bag with a strong frame. It holds half a case of wine and you look so chic and environmentally conscious as you walk out with your bag o'wine. Bring that bag back next time you come and you get 20% off all the wine you put in it. read more

I freakin' love this place, and it's not just because I'm a wino. I'm a big fan of South American wines which are sometimes hard to find but the selection here is amazing! Also, the employees are amazingly helpful. I came in once to buy champagne, which I hate, for a champagne tasting party and she helped me pick one that would be more to a taste that I would enjoy. Completely UNpretentious, totally terrific is the best way to characterize my experience with this shop and these people. We love and appreciate good and interesting wines, but have no time, nor inclination to get deep into the weeds on the particulars of wine, wine making, grapes, etc. We just enjoy drinking interesting wine. The business proposition for this shop, described perfectly by their business's name, is: "Our mission is simple: to make wine an easy and affordable everyday pleasure." They've done the work for me - they help me choose, they demystify the wine-food pairing, the purchasing, and the serving parts so I can enjoy the drinking part. Without pretense, without making me feel like a wine-moron. They arm me with as much or as little information as I want, in a completely friendly and inviting way. And while their stock-in-trade is high-quality and affordable wines, they can and will happily take you to the higher ends if that's the range of your interests. Yesterday, we talked comfortably about a $50+ dollar bottle of Barolo and a $75 dollar bottle of Burgundy, and I bought 3 bottles of wine in the $15 dollar range. I was on a bike and they happily packed up my purchases in cardboard for the trip home in my bag. I'm not a beer fanatic, but I've seen exactly the same treatment for those who are . . . Great shop. Not every shop will help you get a second Date! When I went into Everyday Wines I felt a bit embarrassed. I don't know anything about wine. The labels all look the same to me. I couldn't even remember the kind of wine she bought on our first date. But is was the best first date ever and a second was worth the embarrassment. The staff at Everyday Wines was great. They made me feel at ease and explained that even the shape of the bottle can tell something about the wine. I realized it was Chardonnay and within a few minutes I was confidently walking out with a bottle of wine. She loved it! I think my little, somewhat embarrassing, story won me even more points. This is the best place to buy wine. No longer do you have to choose based off of wine labels. Their selection is limited, but every single wine they have is top notch, otherwise it wouldn't be there. And if you have any questions, Mary and her sales staff will be able to answer b/c they have undoubtedly tasted every wine in the store. I go in there with my wine bag and a budget, like an average of $10/bottle, tell the staff what kind of wines I like, and leave with several bottles at 10% off. Great!
