This started at the Brentwood location, where I was specifically told that the Century City store carried the Sunsets brand. That brand is important for customers who need structured sizing (like 36DD), so I made a separate trip based on that information. When I arrived at the Century City store, they did not carry Sunsets at all. When I explained that Brentwood had directed me there, I was told I "should have called first." What's frustrating is that I relied on information given to me by your own store, only to be redirected again and then blamed for not verifying it myself. For customers who need structured sizing, this is not a small issue. You can't just try random styles--fit is very specific, and without consistent inventory or accurate guidance, it becomes extremely difficult to shop in-store. On top of that, the return/exchange process was unnecessarily complicated. I was not allowed to exchange for a different style in the correct size and was instead required to repurchase the item. This left me with over $500 temporarily tied up across multiple charges and pending refunds. The staff I interacted with were polite, but the system itself is rigid and not customer-friendly. For comparison, stores like Nordstrom handle exchanges and returns seamlessly, without putting this kind of burden on the customer. Swimwear is one of the most fit-sensitive categories in retail. Without accurate communication between stores and a more flexible exchange policy, the customer experience becomes unnecessarily frustrating. I hope the company takes a serious look at improving both its inventory communication and return process, because this experience was far more difficult than it should have been. read more

I'm six months postpartum and breastfeeding and it was really nice to be treated so well/taken care of when I'm feeling pretty sensitive about my new body. My baby loved them as well! Everyone here is lovely. So are the bathing suits AND the clothes! Best of all, they are honest with you about what suits each customer best! BTW, I was in the store when the rude customer below tried to use cash despite the clear sign right at the register indicatIng that they couldn't accept cash! The custome's behavior was appalling. Update...3 years later! This place is still incredible! I came back for my next swimsuit upgrade after some weight loss and this suit is WOWZA! Nicole was able to show me a one piece (totally not my usual) and it was a knock out! We had tons of fun trying on different suits but the one piece was the winner. My sweetheart and I had been looking forward to having a fun and special day... bikini shopping! We tried a place in Beverly Hills which was nice, but we felt a bit rushed there so we drove over to Everything But Water at San Vicente and 26th. First, what a beautiful selection of swimwear - one piece, two piece, more revealing, less revealing, suits that would look nice on women of different shapes, sizes, and ages. Second, such helpful service! This was the first time I have ever set foot in a bikini shop, so I learned a lot: tops and bottoms are sold separately, which allows women to choose the level of "skimpiness," especially when it comes to the bottoms. And the second thing I learned was, "When in doubt, skimpier is better." (I suppose these are bikinis after all...) My hunny tried on several suits. I had fun working with the staff to choose swimsuits that I thought she might like - an experience that could only be described as a man's dream come true. The staff offered helpful advice while I did my best not to drool too much. Ultimately she picked two suits, one purely for looks (absolutely stunning and at the same time graceful) and a second somewhat more functional that she will use with her wetsuit (also ravishing but with some more straps up top). I'd show you pictures but my hunny is quite modest and would not permit it. Gents, I highly recommended bringing your girlfriends or wives here. Very enjoyable couples experience. And ladies, I imagine that it could be intimidating to step into a swimwear shop, but don't hesitate to come here. I got the strong sense that this was a very supportive and body-positive environment. So each item cost about $100... two tops plus two bottoms... you can do the math. Not cheap but hey she looks like a million bucks! I suppose none of us is getting any better looking anytime soon, so, as they say in France, CARPE BIKINI! read more

My girlfriend and I were came looking to get her a new bikini or one piece and I must say, we had the greatest shopping experience I could of asked for. The swimsuits were great (and expensive!) but that's not why I am giving this review. The girl working - a younger brunette, working the Sunday evening shift on February 18, 2024 (I unfortunately took her name but lost it!) - might be the greatest retail salesperson I have ever encountered. My girlfriend was very insecure about trying bathing suits on in front of me due to past experiences with things not looking right or not quite fitting. But the girl working made my girlfriend feel like a supermodel, constantly fawning over her, saying things like "girl, you were made for bikinis!" while encouraging her to try on new and audacious styles. It made my girlfriend so much more confident - she would have bought the whole store if she could! It truly made something that can be an awkward experience for girls an extremely fun time for the both of us. read more

Farah the sales woman is a rude, unhelpful individual! I went yesterday with a friend who wanted to purchase a swimsuit. My friend has more of the classic LA figure, but I am a little bit larger. As soon as we walked in the first thing Farrah did was look us up and down and then comment the following. "I just want you to know that in this store it is more of a boutique location and we will not have the same price range as the other shops that you would find in a mall for example. So if you don't think you can afford anything in here I'm just letting you know that." She then again looked up and down at me and at my friend and said "oh, also we don't carry bigger sizes, we only carry small and extra small." I then replied and said "no problem we're looking for a suit for my friend anyway." As my friend was trying on different pairs of tops and bottoms, I eventually did find a bathing suit for myself and had a different saleswoman help me. They did in fact have my size, and she did not make it seem as if I couldn't afford, or fit into anything. She ended up getting my business, and the commission from the suit that I bought, but I was very turned off by the other saleswoman. If I were the manager, I would tell Farah to understand that people of high incomes come in different shapes, sizes and appearance. I was wearing slacks and a nice shirt as well as regular work shoes. I was not in flip-flops or lazy garb. They would have surely lost a customer, had I not interacted with the other saleswoman. But I doubt that I would be going back to that location anytime soon. mind you, its the closest one to my home! read more

Get ready... get set... go to the store to be humiliated. If your not a perfect 10 this is not the place for you. I originally went to the store because their online site boasted a wide selection of Gottex suits. However when I got the store, I was quickly schooled by the sales rep that their Store was a speciality store and that if I wanted Gottex I should retreat back to general population stores found in the MALL. Sorry Gottex, Everything but water thinks your good enough to be on their website and not in the store. I reluctantly decided to try on a few suits recommended by the sales rep. I asked for a suit that was low cut on the leg and not too revealing. To my horror... was super pushy and aggressive. She told me that I did not know how to put on the suit correctly. The sales rep entered my dressing room even after I pleaded with her to not to come in. And to make matters worse. I stood half naked with my half way around my waste trying to cover my chest while also trying to fend off her fingers from readjusting my baiting suit. To compound matters I heard the sales rep telling the cashier that I did not know how to dress myself afterward. This experience has left me feeling very bullied and violated. read more

The manager of this store, Mara, and her associate, Elena, are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. On my first visit, I was shopping for new bathing suits for myself. Mara knows her inventory and she has the experience to recommend different suits based on fit and customer preference. I am really happy with her recommendations and my purchases! I rarely write reviews but my experience at Everything But Water was too good not to share. I walked in clueless on where to begin - who likes swimsuit shopping anyways? I was greeted by the manager Mara who had me try on a couple I picked out for size and to see my body type and she said she'd take it from there. She was so helpful and upbeat, and picked out some incredible options! My husband had been making fun of me for wearing decades old Target bikinis and he was so happy with the selections I ended up with. Another associate pulled a cover-up for me to wear while looking for another size, and I ended up buying it too because it was so cute! Anyways, they did all the work for me, and I walked out happy with a bunch of great new flattering options. I will 100% be back. I always have such a hard time finding swimsuits. It's usually a frustrating experience. Generally, I would find myself at a Diane's or somewhere similar, but found this store available via yelp. They have such a great selection of suits and accessories. I was worried they wouldn't have options for curvy girls, but they had plenty! And they weren't granny suits. Lol They have a wide variety of great brands. Beyond that, generally I find that the reps really make a big difference on your comfort and experience, and I was lucky enough to be helped by a woman.. I think her name was Marcia. She had an incredible amount of patience, was very sweet, and helpful. It was refreshing to have had such a good experience. Hoping to go again soon! read more

Pretty disappointed and annoyed at Santa Monica location. As if it's not already hard enough to run errands in LA, people actually do have to plan time to do it. I needed to make a return today (they have a 21 day limit anyway) and so I arrive at 6:30pm. I open the door and the lady working today tells me they're closed and I confirm that I can't make a return? And she says the register is already closed down. They have advertised everywhere that that close at 7pm. There is no reason why I couldn't make my return with a half hour left until "closing". If you close at 6:30pm, then advertise 6:30pm. Truly terrible customer service. Went in at 5:10pm and all three dressing rooms were taken. Waited 20 minutes for me to finally ask "how much longer do you think" and the lady to say "15 more minutes". Absolutely absurd. One lady was actually nice but the other was running around acting holier than thou, pouring out non stop advice to self conscious Brentwood moms over 50. I was in the market for a two piece bathing suit and had the most pleasant and fun experience at Everything But Water. I went with my husband and we were promptly greeted by the sole sales person working that day, Alex. She offered to pick a few items out for me once I told her a few things I liked and didn't like about swimwear. She explained that part of her training to work in the store was to try on every suit so she knew what it was like on, not just on the hanger. Her recommendations, encouragement and advice were SO helpful! She knew what would work well with my body type, what was a best seller and what coverage each piece provided. Plus if it wasn't in my size or color, she was knowledgeable about what was available to order online. And the selection in the store was STELLAR and very extensive! It was world's better than a number of other stores I had visited before in search of a suit. The next time I need a new suit I will absolutely be back to Everything But Water, and would hope that Alex is there to help - she was the best and made the whole experience fun! read more
