This theater is a huge disappointment. Given its location, it has the potential to be a top-notch destination, but unfortunately it falls far short. I moved to the area last year and gave it a try for the first time. I left disappointed but figured maybe it was just an off day. Since then, I've been back two more times, and it's clear that this is simply the standard they operate at. The cleanliness is a major issue. On more than one visit, I noticed roaches, which is completely unacceptable for any movie theater. The auditoriums I've been in are also very dark, making it difficult to see scenes that are already dimly lit. What's most frustrating is seeing employees standing around, sitting on benches, and using their phones while the facility remains dirty and poorly maintained. This theater has so much potential to be a great asset to the community, but right now it feels like management has accepted a much lower standard. It's really hard to describe what a huge missed opportunity this place is. They have the market cornered for tens of thousands of people, with no other theater that's close, and they still fumble. Honestly just go look at any movie at any time, and compare it to the nearest Alamo on Slaughter. Right now I can have an entire theater to myself, where Alamo has a few seats left, for the same movie, at the same time. Nobody is sitting at their bar, no body is eating in the community space, the arcade is sparse with kids, and the theaters are empty. I watched a movie by myself last night (saturday) at 5pm. The place is dirty. You can see moths flying around in the theater. The food is BAD. The popcorn isn't even good. I got a tub and it was the bottom of the barrel, loaded with seeds.... With a drink.... $17. Seventeen dollars to crack a tooth if I'm not careful. The seats are falling apart. Some don't even work because the electronics are broken. Id hate to see what it looks like with the lights on. General ticket prices are around $4 more than a movie at Alamo where it's far more temperate, far more comfortable, has far better food, far better service, and is overall a far better experience. I'm not sure if it's just this location, but owners and management are completely clueless. This place won't last another 3-5 years unless they enact drastic change. Oh, also, is there a reason you keep the music on all night on the outside speakers? Are your employees really that lazy? I walk past it every morning, around 6am and music is still blaring away outside. It doesn't bother anyone, but it gives you an idea of how little anyone cares here. read more

It was OK. The theater felt a little dingy and the menu wasn't great. I got popcorn, which was super salty but OK. The Imax was nice but didn't feel like it was surrounding you. Just a huge screen. Not sure I'd make the trek back out here. You do get a free popcorn when you sign up for the app so that's nice. read more

This place has moths everywhere in the theater for some reason. Every time I've been here, almost every food is listed out of stock regardless of time. First thing in the morning, I've seen the drinks area be dirty like it wasn't cleaned the night before. Additionally a $4 convenience fee for booking online. read more

This was the dirtiest theatre I've ever been in. There were poop stains and mold in the toilets and trash all over the floor. It took half the movie to get the popcorn we ordered in the previews and the movie was exceptionally loud, like insanely so. read more

Evo is the only cinema in close proximity to Dripping Springs so we frequent this cinema for a quick viewing of movies. Convenience is probably the biggest perk with this location. Over recent years, they have attempted to make this location nicer with a downstairs eating area, a prize station as you first enter on the right (always difficult to pass with my grandkids so not a big fan of this placement) and a gaming area. I would probably say it has a three out of five on the clean rating. That might be generous. Most times I go to the restrooms, there are no paper towels, no soap and only a few water fixtures that work. Thankfully toilet paper has never been an issue. Ample number of stalls. As for the seating in the theaters, they have recliner seating, rotating table and cupholder which is great for comfort. Most of the time seating has been clean. However, there appears to be some kind of bug perhaps a moth that lives in the theaters so while you're viewing, you will most likely encounter flying bugs across the screen and sometimes right at you into the sitting area. They do have an elevator, but the most convenient way to the upper level where the entry to the cinemas is is from a large staircase at the front of the cinema. They have drink stations both at the lower and upper level, which is great, especially for icees. Growing up in the 80s I am reminiscent of movie theaters in their heyday. While this particular one would not be able to compete, if you are in dripping Springs, it is an average and easy way to see a new movie. The quality of the movies is great and there is an IMAX theater. Check out their special viewings where they bring back holiday specials, or kid favorites during non peak times. read more

Just want to say in the women's restroom upstairs the water temperature on the faucets for handwashing are set way too hot. My granddaughter and I could barely rinse our hands the water was so hot! On our second visit to the restroom, there were no paper towels. This was on a Wednesday afternoon/evening before 6:30 pm!! They weren't busy. There was no crowd. read more

Don't know what happened to this place but it's nothing like it used to be. I don't think we'll be coming back ever again even though it's literally 10 minutes from our house. We're here on a Friday night shortly before 8:00, kitchen is closed and no food available. It looks like they've only got two people working. Popcorn, food and trash all over the floor in the main area and in the hallways and in the theater. Most of the seats in our theater have leather peeling off and stuffing coming out. The person next to us couldn't get their recline to work. Cherry on top was the cockroach that ran across my foot, who made a repeat appearance in the lobby as we were leaving. I've been going to this theater for a few years now, and I'm disappointed by the increasingly dilapidated space. The chairs in the auditoriums are almost all peeling away to the point where I don't want to sit in them. I'm sure the lack of attendance for viewing movies in the theater isn't helping, but I would hope that the conditions will be addressed soon. This place has been an affordable option, but last time I went the popcorn I purchased was half the size it normally is. My friend and I went to a morning movie. Our movie was one of the first showings. We saw one person behind the counter. The theater was dirty. Popcorn was all over the floors. The bathroom was filthy. There were paper towels all over the floor, falling out of the trash can. It was evident that the theater had not been cleaned the night before. Love the layout with the movies on the second floor and the game area separated from the main lobby. Saw Godzilla X Kong in IMAX 3-D and was blown away by the quality of the experience. They offer an elevated movie experience with reclining leather chairs, offer adult beverages and beer, a menu with lunch/dinner options in addition to the standard movie theater snack options. When my family first started going to this EVO location I remember it being much nicer than it is now. The restrooms have been dirty the last 3-4 times we've gone. The last time my family was there the men's restroom sink was clogged and there was a large amount of water left to fester. I noticed small bugs flying around the entire complex. The upstairs self serve drink station was an absolute disaster. I really didn't expect much in the cleanliness department after noticing the staff are younger, like 20 years my junior, and don't seem to own a comb or iron for grooming. (Middle aged man rant) The popcorn was great. I once had my daughters birthday party here and dropped over $700 that day with no regrets. The 1st time we watched a movie at this theater was when it was sky cinemas. The food, cleanliness and maintenance of the property was awesome. We attended Spider-Man last weekend and was greatly disappointed in how much the theater has gone downhill. The tray's in the theater we were in was peeling off. The bathrooms, the general area etc. appear to not be well kept and cleaned. The place felt dirty. Food was ok and the staff taking orders did not get our order correct. Worst movie theater I've ever gone to. Raw pizza, no napkins our drinks were never delivered and when we did get a drink delivered, it was cans of Coke not at all what we paid for (mixed drink in a Barbie beach ball glass that was a collectors item was paid for never delivered). We had a child trying to talk and get over their parent seats into where our feet were. the chair didn't even move back-and-forth (broken chair), which is an upgraded ticket compared to a normal theater. There was a group of about 10 guys. All must've been highschoolers. Had one come up to the group and started talking to his friends mid movie, and then started sitting in the seat with one of his friends at the same time never stop talking the whole movie. First time back at the movie theaters in over a year and at an EVO Cinemas location. They are still renovating this new location, and soon be new will be revealed. We walked inside, checked in, and we headed to our assigned theater. I had purchased the tickets online where can select your seat locations. I ordered Fried Shrimp Basket and was very good. It had a lot of shrimp and fries with dipping sauce. They do have a wide menu selection to choose from including drinks. The service is super friendly and quick. The atmosphere is still the same with relaxing chairs and decent picture/sound quality. read more

The food is quite meh and if they improve the quality, this would easily become our go-to. The menu is vast but the taste has been overlooked. The elevator is still broken down. I am handicapped and my husband is 75 years old. He was forced to carry my mobility cart up a very long staircase while I had to try to navigate the staircase. We'll never go back to this place again. The service is atrocious. Ordered a pizza, salad and Topo-Chico. The server brought the pizza, no salad and the Topo-Chico wasn't open (requires use of a bottle opener). I left the theatre (the movie was just starting) to find a server to open the Topo-Chico and inquire about the salad. I asked a group of servers that were lingering in the hallway about opening the Topo-Chico and salad and was told "Oh, you'll need to go downstairs and get it open and ask about your salad". Off I go, down to the 1st floor, of course missing the movie opening. The clerk at the counter was pleasant but not real helpful. She opened the Topo-Chico and said she would check on the salad. I asked her to just cancel the salad and give me a refund. She wasn't sure how to do that and said she would need to go get a manager--didn't want to miss any more of the movie so I told her to disregard and bring the salad. Almost 15 minutes later the salad arrived at our seats. The eating utensil for the salad--a spoon. Once again, I left the theatre to go find a server. Informed him that it was quite impossible to eat a salad with a spoon, he says "Oh, my bad" with no offer to get a fork. So, I had to ask him to do so. Again, a prolonged wait until a fork arrives. To add further insult a tip for $9 was added to our bill. This is the worst service we've ever experienced in any establishment. In the future we'll drive the extra few miles to go to the Alamo Drafthouse. read more

The staff treated me horribly and with huge disrespect. Not only do I no longer want to go there, I want to kick them out of this town! I was walking around minding my own business after having bought a ticket waiting for my screen room to open up after they clean it. Some other customer complained about me saying I was "creeping them out". The teenage ushers then ganged up on me, surrounded me like I was a threat, and told me if I got up again they would kick me out (not during the movie mind you, the screen was still black and people were still walking in). Needless to say, I challenged this disrespect and they kicked me out. They then called the cops on me while I was waiting for them to get my phone and car keys from the theater they ejected me from and then gave me a criminal trespass warning. These people need to leave Dripping Springs. They mess up our vibe and treat the citizens with disrespect unless they live in Belterra subdivision or something. We arrived early to avoid traffic and had hoped to kill time by playing in the arcade, but this location does not have the arcade area like the Kyle location. Thankfully, they cleaned the theater in a timely manner and allowed us to enter the theatre 15 minutes prior to the start of our movie. Within 5 minutes of us being seated, they came by to take our orders and we received our meals while we were watching the previews. The staff was very pleasant and got our orders correct, however, we did not enjoy the food that much. The fried pickles were good, albeit, a tad too salty; the honey sriracha tacos were nothing to write home about, but the chicken tenders were pretty decent. I think next time, we may just stick to concession stand basics like popcorn. The theater was perfect for Spider man and the sound system was state of the art. Although this location does not have an arcade, it is definitely one of the more modern locations I have been to. read more

Hi! My name is Greg Thornton, my son and I attended the 4:15 transformers movie this afternoon. The server spilled two beers on my sons (he is 4 years old) lap that soaked his shoes and his blanket we brought. He is fine and was not an issue other than him not having his blanket the rest of the movie. I want to make a point that this was an accident but she obviously had very little training on handling a tray because she mishandled it two times before she spilled it. She apologized and was obviously embarrassed this happened. She did her best to wipe everything up with paper towels, we moved seats and she never returned. A manager or anyone else came after this happened, we were there an hour or so after this. I asked to speak to a manager after we finished the movie. Diego came out to greet me and it was obvious to me he had heard about the incident and quickly apologized. Like the server, I noticed that he was not prepared to handle the issue even though I could tell he was trying his best. He sorta said he could refund me but quickly left the conversation to avoid the issue. I did not push further because my son was with me and I do not think the issue is with them. When we bought the tickets before the movie, the kiosk did not print the tickets. I went to the concession and he said "yea that keeps happening". The young man was nice and hand wrote on a piece of paper our seat numbers and theatre number. My issue is the young people working their do not have support from management/ownership or proper training. I'm a chef and understand the issues facing the service industry today. Please, who is ever managing and owns this establishment help your staff and properly train them to do their jobs.
