The great thing about living in the Northwest is there are a lot of good wineries with a lot of good wines. But in my mind, what sets some wineries apart is their commitment to customer service. Naked Winery is one of those wineries that goes the extra mile. Without going into the details I'll say that I had one not-so-great experience at the tasting room...the staff responded immediately and genuinely to my problem, and truly went a long way out of their way to help me out. They made sure to make things right and overall it was a very positive experience. My last tasting room experience was one of the better wine tastings I've ever had. Thank you, Naked Winery, for being one of a shrinking number of businesses that honestly and truly cares about customers. Naked Winery is a gimmicky, goofy kind of place...sort of like the "Coyote Ugly" of wine tasting in my opinion. I've been here a few times now for wine tasting and always had a fun experience. Like I said, it's kind of a goofy place with wines named "Penetration" or "Orgasmic" etc etc. I am usually a fan of white wine but there isn't really a white wine on their menu that I like. There are about 3 red wines that I do like at Naked but of course they are the $50 bottles! The staff is always friendly. The tasting fee is $5 (waived with wine purchase) and the pours are really generous. Not only that, they have like 18 wines to sample on the menu! It's a fun place to experience. But like I said, I only like about 25% of the wines so it's not my favorite place. read more

Naked Winery follows a very contemporary tradition of appealing to the less knowledgeable consumer with an impressive array of sultry gimmicks in an effort to mask their rather atrocious collection of "wines". I must say that the atmosphere is appealing at first, but the almost oppressive innuendo quickly loses its appeal when one realizes that there seems to be more additives than wine in one's glass. "2 buck chuck" at Trader Joes is a much better investment. About the only bright spot was that the staff was very friendly. But seriously, go elsewhere to sample fine wines. We were in Portland on vacation and trekked out to Hood River for a day trip. On a whim we stopped in Naked Winery because we parked our car on the street right in front of it. The space is pretty nice - big comfy tasting room and then a second back room with lots of merchandise. They have some $8 tastings where you get to taste 8 different wines and then keep the glass. You can choose from a white, red, or sweet tasting list. We both opted for the whites and then we ended up with some bonus tastings along the way. Our bartender was very sweet and friendly without being overbearing and forcing us to buy a bottle (which we did anyway, a cool plastic bottle that we could take with us on future treks) read more

This might be one of the least pretentious, most fun wineries I've been to. Their marketing is excellent and they seem to cater to the younger crowd. That said, the pouring attendants seemed to have only a marginal expertise with the wines and vineyards, but spoke well enough for an entry-level wine enthusiast to get a good feel. $5 to taste their lineup is fairly average, and is good toward a purchase. Careful though, that's per person and if a pair buys only one bottle, you may be charged the other tasting fee. On to the wine. The wine is simply below standard. Of the many wines tried, two were decent - the Oh! Orgasmic Cab 2009 (very young but should mature well) and one from another brand they sell. Don't come for the wine, come for the atmosphere. Another keen marketing opportunity they've seized upon is plastic bottles. That seems like it'll just make all sorts of sense for the quality of wine they produce and the region's outdoor recreation emphasis. We're not wine snobs by any means, but I thought the selection was okay. We've had better tastings in the Willamette Valley, Yakima Valley. Our server was very cordial, and she knew the wines we were tasting. We sat on a sofa, and she made certain our glasses were always full. Biggest complaint, the noise level. Went to Naked last evening with a large group (12 people). They didn't even flinch when we walked in, and were totally ready to accommodate us. The server behind the bar was fun and flirtatious, and there were cheese and crackers & chocolates out - very welcome as this was our 3rd tasting room of the day. We had a great time, and got to taste a lot of wine (I lost count). Will definitely go back. They seem to always be open and have open mic nights, and live music every week. read more

This is always a fun place to stop and super entertaining. It's never our first stop since the wine is good but not amazing. Our last visit started out great!! We had two hours before we needed to leave. Should have been plenty of time, but due to the fact someone was signing up to be a member I had to flag down someone so we could pay and leave without finishing our flights. We got a little over halfway through and still paid the full amount. The other issue was that with a flight you get a souvineir glass. I had to ask three times if it was the glasses we used or different ones so we didn't walk out with glasses we weren't supposed to take. All in all its a fun place to stop but not a must. At first, Naked Winery appeared to be nothing more than a novelty winery that could not make it on their wine so they just hired good looking workers and named their wines after the dirty dirty (like the Booty Call Blush)! However, you can't judge a book by its cover or a wine by its label. Naked Winery had a great selection of whites and reds. Their flights (sweet and tradition) provide a good A-Z taste of their collection. I was most impressed with their library which included a fantastic Barbera. To be honest, there was not a bad wine in the bunch. Well, now that I am a club member I look forward to my shipments and regular trips to the winery. I recommend getting Naked. read more

We walked in for a wine tasting but left members. When places say they are pet friendly they usually have lots of rules but this place actually is pet friendly! We arrived right before a rush so got the comfy couch. My husband, three dogs and myself got cozy and stayed for over an hour. We enjoyed the tasting as they put up their Christmas tree and most people stopped to meet the dogs. Everyone was friendly from the customers to the employees. It was a fun vibe and not pretentious like some tasting rooms can be. We live in Portland so we plan to drive there for a weekend every few months for a tasting with the dogs and pick up our wines. read more

Absolutely 5 stars all the way! We come here every time we are in town and have always loved it. However, this time felt the need to Yelp it mainly because the service was exceptional. We always enjoy the wine and fun but this time the service was over the top! Katie the bartender was the sweetest thing ever. Greeted us with a HUGE smile and acted as though she thoroughly enjoyed us being there...which is sometimes hard to find. There were others at the bar as well and she was very attentive to everyone. What do vixen, hook up, cougar, seductive, and penetration all have in common? They're all names of wines from Naked Winery! This tasting room has by far been the funnest one I've visited! I was in Hook River over the weekend with some friends and happened upon this tasting room. We were warmly greeted by Emma and wasted no time getting to the wine. I like that they offer $1 tastings or $8 for a tasting flight and souvenir wine glass. My friend and I decided to do the flight since there were so many different wines available. Emma was fun and spunky and she just kept pouring wine after wine. I totally lost track of how many wines I tried. I could have easily walked out with at least 4 wines but I had to limit myself to 2. I really wish that this tasting room was closer to me because I really like their wines and would definitely visit often. read more

Although the wine tasting room didn't have too much to offer (besides wine, obvi) I was pleased with our experience. The staff was very friendly and corky (ha, get it). Had a couple of wines I wasnt too much of a fan (sweeter wines) but the rest were pretty good. They have a line out currently that is made of plastic and meant to take hiking/camping/etc. which was very cool. They have multiple locations for the wine tasting rooms. All their wine names definitely go with their name-Naked which is kind of clever but kind of overkill also? But whatever. You can choose from two different flights which is a neat idea and you get like 6 tasting in each for a really good price. Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes something to challenge that comfort zone. Naked Winery is just such that place. Armed with a wine-tasting passport from our hotel, we spent a delightful afternoon at Naked Winery with Cari, our waitperson. She was so extremely knowledgeable and friendly and entertaining that we felt guilty tasting for free and left her a huge tip. After walking down the street for a quick bite, we stopped by to buy 2 bottles of our favorite wines. Oh, and if you're a Pinot Noir and chocolate fiend, they have free Belgian Chocolate Wafers to die for. One could spend all evening there. This is the most wine I've tasted at one sitting and only for 5 dollars! Rated a 4 rather than a 5 cause the lady who helped us wasn't too friendly and seemed grumpy! She did perk up when we bought stuff (go figure).... Most of the wine is ok. Cougar semi-sparkling wine is amazing though and worth every penny. Definitely perfect for a brunch or girls night. I actually joined the "cougar club" and will get 2 bottles sent every 3 months for just $40. Their "oh" series or "orgasm" series is also super tasty but really expensive. The wine is super smooth without the end bite that comes with most wine at the end of each sip. I would never buy it for 60-80 dollars a bottle but definitely a treat to try it. My husband make sure to stop in here every single time we come to visit Hood River! Absolutely LOVE this place! The staff are top notch...funny, sexy and knowledgeable...everything you'd expect of a vineyard known as Naked Winery. We have so much fun with the staff and patrons each and every time we come in. When you come in to do a tasting, be prepared to be blown away...and a bit tipsy! You will probably get more tastings in one round here than you would if you visited 3 or 4 separate vineyards...each of which poured with a smile. The wines are delicious! I had a great time wine tasting here with my boyfriend. They have two types of flights - sweet and traditional. The sweet flight is no joke, so make sure you like sweet wine before ordering it. A few on the flight are bordering on dessert wines. If you're not a fan of sweet, the traditional route is a great option. My wife planned a birthday weekend for me in Hood River with my parents. It turned out to be a great day, partly due to our wine tasting at Naked Winery. We found two places near were over capacity and could not stay for tasting. This place had plenty of space and at least 2 staff serving wine during our visit. The staff was very friendly and allowed a custom tasting as my wive and I wanted only red's and my parents like wine wines. Going off the grid worked out for us and we like their flexability. End up buying a $45 bottle of Climax - red blend. The names of the wine were a real source of conversation as I was about to turn red in the face due to the conversation my wife and mom were having and we could not stop laughing. Having a wine named Penetration will get people talking. It is a great location and easy access once you park in downtown Hood River. I plan on returning. read more
