On service day, I arrived early, but to my great surprise she was already there! This is so rare for early morning hair appointments. More times than not, I am waiting for the stylist to show, and then she shows up late. One qualm, is that another client came in after me (getting services from another stylist) and since the other stylist was not there yet, she kept interrupting my stylist with a litany of questions. My stylist stopped working on my hair for about 10 minutes assisting this other client. Nonetheless, when the stylist did get started, she took very few; yet brief breaks to answer phone calls. I took two breaks to use the restroom and fyi, the restroom was spotless. What an added bonus! When all was done, I really like my hairstyle. Only negative is that the front edges were braided kind of tight, despite my request for them to not be braided tight or small. Most were not small, just 5 in the very front. The rest are spaced out. And the rest of my head was not braided super tight so not sure how/why just the front edges were. There was one that was unbearable on the front edge and she redid it for me. She (Chantal) was very pleasant to speak with, took most of the directions I gave her, checked in with me throughout the service and worked rather swiftly. The twists are a lot smaller than I envisioned, but when I compare it with the picture I showed her, it's comparable, so I accept fault on that. Also, I prefer kinky twists that are twisted from the roots, but she braided from the roots. Overall, I am satisfied with her work. P.S. Some braiders use gel or Vaseline when they braid you hair, she used hair grease (I think blue magic).

Although, I paid $300 for the small size, i realized that she gave me the $250 size braids (medium) from the back up and put the small ones in the front. I have only had my hair braided for a week and the braids started falling out and was loose throughout my head. I called her to let her know and she scheduled an appointment; then she text and said she had an emergency appt and asked to schedule the next day. I informed her that she put the wrong size braids and that's why they are falling from my hair. She states that she is only going to do the ones that has fallen out, however; they all are very lose and falling out except for the smaller ones in the top. I chose her because of her price when I comparing. I'm writing this review so that if you go to her, be sure that you are getting what you are paying for. Ask her to let you see the size or feel while she is braiding. I have wasted $320 tip included for nothing. I now have to take these out and get my hair redone in less than a month. I have a real issue with people making appointments and not being there on time. I assume as I pulled off that the lady finally came walking like she doesn't have a care in the world. Irene was friendly and sweet throughout. Only $15 before tip??? WILD. After inspecting my hair at home, I saw that my split ends were gone and the layers were pretty even. Extremely fair price for the cut quality. I recommend Fashion Hair Design for folks on the hunt for no-nonsense, traditional trims. NOTE: My only issue was probably the hygiene. I didn't see much sanitation between cuts, lots of hair left on the ground and tables. First off, I just wanted to say that it was very easy to communicate with her. I was able to text her what I wanted-to dye my hair. Although my hair was bleached and created patchy areas for her to work with, Lisa managed to help my hair look super nice! While working on my hair, she was very communicative. She told me what was possible for my hair because I originally asked for a lighter color, but that wouldn't have worked since my hair was darker then. Not only that, but she worked with my already damaged hair and made sure not to damage it even more! Throughout the process, she talked to me about what she was going to do and had a conversation with me. At other places, the hair dressers are often quiet so this was a pleasant change for me. I haven't booked another appointment yet, but I would definitely come back when time permitting and whenever I have enough cash! (:
