$300 service call- didn't fix the problem. We had called Evolution last week as our ac wasn't blowing cold air. Two women came out and they were at our house for awhile trying to figure out what the issue was. $300 later and some coolant they said the problem should be fixed, fast forward a few hours after they left and we were back to blowing hot air again. I called them to come back out and was told I needed to get ahold of another person. After given the run around and having a household with a toddler and a mother with MS we needed someone out ASAP. I called another company that came out and right away assessed a rat had eaten our panel. This is something Evolution should have caught but they didn't. Prior to the service call, Randy even suggested a few self-help options to try and alleviate our problem without any expense. The service call was necessary, but a very reasonable part replacement for less than $200. No lengthy diagnosis or troubleshooting to run up the cost and no up sell on more expensive service. This review is over due. Randy was one of several contractors I called when I needed to replace my furnace several years ago. Rather than give me one price, Randy had three suggestions. He could rebuild and update my current furnace, replace it in its current location or move it to the attic where the AC coil and fan were located. Each had a different price depending on location and the features of the furnace. In Door Comfort's prices were very competitive, and I was impressed with Randy's knowledge. Randy showed up as scheduled and installed a new furnace in our attic. His company handled the building permits and inspections. We later had Randy replace our AC compressor and modify some duct work. Randy knows HVAC and is there when you need him. read more

LIFESAVERS! We had a 911 situation over the weekend where the tenants leasing our home had no a/c because the thermostat stopped working- of course this was the hottest weekend of the year thus far. We called about 15 different places, all of which said they'd get back to us Monday (if even answering at all). Evolution not only offered to help even though we were technically out of their zone, but the manager kept me updated along the way while at home with his family. The tech was speedy, professional with our tenants & efficient. I was thoroughly impressed and will be using them over and over. So, the owner Randy Scales used to do the AC installs through Home Depot. A few years back, we purchased a 5-ton central air system through the Home Depot in Brea and Randy Scales came out to pitch the original estimate and his company installed the system. Not knowing anything about ac units, the unit was installed and seemed fine, as when they left, it was blowing cold air. A few years down the road, we called another company out to check the system because it stopped working. The new tech said whoever installed the system (Randy Scales / Indoor Comfort), did nothing to code: the wrong type of gas line was run to the heater unit, the mechanism that holds the filter in place was never installed, no circuit breaker shut-off was installed next to the condenser, the opening where the air intake is was only a quarter of the size it should have been, none of the air ducts were sealed in the attic, nor were they strapped down and we had a fire in the condenser unit at one time when a "hard start" capacitor Randy installed failed. After the new tech left and knowing I had been duped by Randy Scales, I called Home Depot and they offered no help, but instead, referred me back to Indoor Comfort & Randy Scales. I called Randy on his personal cell that I still had on the original estimate and he said he would not come out unless I called in a "service call" through his wife who works for Indoor Comfort. After speaking with him a little longer, he did finally come out. I explained the problems the other tech had explained to me. He agreed that the system was not installed correctly and said if I called back when it was "cooler", he would come out and fix all of the shortcomings for the price of a service call. He then left. I do not trust Indoor Comfort nor Randy Scales. He seemed knowledgeable about the industry but his company's workmanship was terrible, dangerous and when contacted, he offered no remedy other than to charge me again to fix the stuff he didn't do correctly the first time. I have video cameras at my home and our conversation was videoed. If you do get an install from Randy Scales, you better have it checked out to make sure he didn't cut more corners and put your property and/or your family at risk. read more

Very satisfied with the a/c & heating system recommended & installed by ICAC&H. I have it serviced twice each year for summer & winter use. The unit performs as it was presented prior to our purchasing. I chose ICAC&H after getting several bids from other companies. I appreciated Randy's sales presentation, he didn't give us the Ol' Dog & Pony Show like some of his competitors did; thank you Randy. I had a company that had called me come give my AC a check up. He found multiple things 'wrong' with it to the tune of a $1200 repair bill. Before believing this guy I had Randy from Indoor Comfort come out and check out the unit. He was very professional, did a far more thorough check (which he says is his normal check) and gave the AC a clean bill of health. I felt very comfortable having him in my home and feel he would never try to sell me anything I didn't need as did this other company. I received Randy's number through "word of mouth advertising". We have decided to do a completely new installation of central air and heat. I have received quotes from several companies and the one I almost decided to go with was comparable in price to Randy's. After careful consideration, we've decided to go with Indoor Comfort. The installation was smooth and Randy assured me throughout the process that I will be happy. He was right. Even though there are still little things needed to finish, we are enjoying a cool air in our house. What truly impressed me though that the county inspector did not hide his impression with the quality of work. I was expecting several "repairs to be done before sign off".
