I didn't have a "negative" service at this salon but it was "mediocre" at best, especially for the cost. This salon is easily $100-$125 more expensive just because of the area it's in, keep that in mind. Overall, I would give my hair a 6 out of 10 and my experience a 4 out of 10. I got a partial "balayage" and hair cut, and at this point I know that some salons don't do actual hair painting, it's basically sporadically placed color, and while the color itself is fine, I don't anticipate this growing out as well as it has other times I've gotten my hair done - I can tell because I've been getting my hair done for 20+ years at this point so that's a little unfortunate. But aside from this, I would have appreciated if she let me know she was charging me for more color - other salons haven't done this as often, but they do let me know when they do. Even with full "balayage" at other places, I haven't always been charged for more color so this was unexpected. Even if she just gave me a heads up though, I would have appreciated it. The haircut was very basic and simple even though I asked for long layers. The blow dry was also "okay" - I ended up going home and adding more volume into it myself. Most importantly though - the stylist was not engaging at all. I'm a new customer, she didn't ask anything about me. Made no effort to put in conversation with me. It is so unlike any experience I've had at a hair salon. I even asked her questions to get the ball rolling and there was barely anything back. 3-4 hours in a salon chair is a long time for such lack of conversation, it's very disappointing. I wanted to love my experience with Jenna at Evolve, especially for a $100 blowout before an important life event, but it honestly felt very cold and rushed. I mentioned I was getting ready for a special occasion and there was basically no conversation, energy, or effort to make the experience feel enjoyable or personalized. The styling itself also felt underwhelming. I was told my hair probably wouldn't hold, and only a very light amount of hairspray/product was used. The picture on the right was what i requested which was layer and face framing. I left the salon with my hair wet and only didn't get the haircut i asked for. I made an appt for a haircut, i got charged $95 for a haircut plus $15 for a bang trims? that is ridiculous. Haircut means you get all of your hair done wdym charging extra for cutting half inch of my bangs?! i will not recommend this place to anybody!! especially Marissa, so rude and unprofessional. I called last minute for a blowout and had the pleasure of being booked with Maria. My hair is naturally curly and she gave me the best blowout! Absolutely in love with my extensions. I was coming back from a massive postpartum shed and looking to find the least damaging extensions for my very fine fragile hair. I was very relieved to find that Katlyn does invisible bead extensions. The color match if flawless, the weft is completely hidden. This is the first time for me to get my hair done with Evolve salon. I got my hair highlighted and hair cut with Kathlyn all together today (6/19/24) and.... I love it! I don't know why there are many good reviews but I'm not happy with the result. I wanted permanent color for the highlights I had but Salma insisted not permanent color. After getting color done, I was told that it will come off after 20 times of wash. I have two kids and don't have time to go get my hair done every month. I never my dye hair and I don't plan getting my hair done soon. Now I see the part she put color and she didn't do roots so I can see the different color between my hair and the roots. I have bleached blonde hair usually, with super dark Asian hair naturally that tragically grew out several inches during the quarantine lockdown. I'd like to start off by saying I'm not a picky client.. but I can imagine how frustrating it can be when your client comes in not knowing what they want. That's me. I'm that client. I will tell you what I don't want and I am entirely satisfied with anything different, honestly. Katlyn L. sat me down and created an amazing environment. I was so comfortable, it felt like we knew each other for years! I knew a little bit about what I wanted but was open to new ideas. I had extensions that I wanted to use and let her know I was looking for volume and not necessarily length. We decided on a root touch up and then Katlyn suggested after we applied the roots that we add some brightness to match the extensions. I agreed and we moved forward. In the time we did a root touch up I also got an amazing balayage.. winning! While Katlyn was putting my extensions in she suggested I keep the length and instead of adding the tons of extensions I had, she placed them in a way that would provide even length, some added volume, but without the INSANE amount of hair. Honestly, that's the only reason I didn't want the length was because of how much hair was on my head when they were in. I am so happy with my results! After reading reviews on Google I decided to stop in Evolve Hair Salon for a root touch up, a few highlights and a trim. Katlyn was wonderful about getting me in on a Friday morning. I made an appointment with Kaitlyn based on her excellent reviews and was looking forward to a great cut. When I arrived for my appointment at 11am I was handed off to Salma who wasn't sure what to do with my color. Kaitlyn was very supportive of Salma and giving her tips about what to do. We decided on baby lights with purple highlights. After being at the salon for 8 hours the picture below is what happened. I was not leaving with my hair like that and Salma called Kaitlyn for help as the shop had long since been closed for the day. Kaitlyn came in from home to help cover up the mess that was created and did a good job making it a dark brown (darker than I had been in years). After Kaitlyn left and my hair was finished Salma said she was only going to charge me for the baby lights (which I never really got) and was not going to charge me for "fixing" the color (to a color I never wanted) and the total charge was $400. I did not think that was an appropriate charge for the services received. While I realize it took all day and a lot of product it was also a long day for the customer to sit in the chair and have a horrifying result. I did watch clients all day having their hair done by Kaitlyn and Lily with amazing results. I feel that I got pushed off on a newer stylist that was in way over her head.
