I just moved to San Diego less than a month ago and finding this yoga studio definitely helped make SD like a home. I have been going to CorePower and other studios in LA that usually are packed with more than 30 people. The classes I took there introduced me to yoga but after a while, I noticed my practice wasn't getting better mostly because of lack of attention you get from instructors. Elite Yoga is completely the opposite! The instructors there (Charie and Kierstie) welcome you at the door, check you in, and they are personable and so friendly. Kierstie asked me what I am looking for in her class (Tone Up) and definitely gave me a whole lot of attention--I COULD NOT SLACK OFF. Charie was seriously the first instructor that pushed me to do headstand. She broke down the process so easily, I almost did it! And she gave me such a good pointer on crow pose that I held it for the longest time even after taking a break from yoga for over 6 months! The cleanliness of the studio is impeccable. So I haven't done yoga in a little over a year but I recently returned to Elite Yoga. I took Charie's 5:45pm class at Elite Yoga in La Jolla, CA. She is so warm and bubbly and an excellent yoga instructor- one of my favorites! She gives clear instructions, great adjustments, and even adds essential oils and light massage! Taking her class is an absolute pleasure. It's a slow, stretchy class that helps me remember to go at my own pace and the pushing myself to the limit will actually set me back. This is just a lovely studio! I came here with a friend because she had a class pass and I decided to do a drop in. I must say.. this studio is just beautifully done even if the entry way is teeny. We were greeted by Lauren and she was just so nice! I didn't realize they had a January special of free unlimited yoga and I was ready to pay, but she happily informed me that about the special and I had a free class!.. a free month! Awesome! The class itself was very lovely and relaxing. Lauren is a great instructor and very attentive to everyone in the class. Great positive vibes! I'm a beginner at yoga and so was my friend- she helped with modified poses without getting aggressive (unlike some bikram instructors I've encountered). Dropped into this beautiful studio for a Yen session with the owner, she and the faculty are amazing. The session was perhaps one of the best I have ever taken, I have been in irregular practice for over 10 years she and the class made me feel very welcome and were very kind. This is a beautiful space to practice, the facility is well equipped and very clean and soothing. I can't say enough good about the Yen practice and the instruction, She was very thorough and soothing. I felt very restored and my joints are thankful after a very demanding weekend of hard work being on my feet, and a couple of trail distance running races. It felt as if I had gotten a full body massage. I will make this my go to place when I am in town for work. read more

I really enjoyed coming to this studio. Although its called Women's Elite Yoga, my friend told me that this studio welcomes men for certain classes. I'm pretty new to yoga in that I have only been to a few different studios since I have been practicing. Although hesitant at first because I had never taken a hot yoga class, as soon as I got to the studio all the fear went away. The ladies that were there were super nice and welcoming. There wasn't a big crowd of people, which I prefer. I've been to studios with big groups of people and I either feel crammed or I feel intimidated. There were 5 or 6 women there to take the class, and 2 men (including myself). I felt very comfortable and there was plenty of room between me and the students to the sides of me. Overall, the studio's atmosphere was perfect and I felt great after my class. The instructor paid a lot of attention to detail and helped me get into postures that I didn't think I could get into. I feel as humans, we are always searching for a sense of community where we feel comfortable and supported. We try different activities and places until we find the right fit. I have found a place where the people are genuine, kind, fun, and caring. The yoga instructors have all been very good and Alex the owner has created an atmosphere where you can get to know others in the class. On many occasions I have had people introduce themselves or ask me how I am doing. I am glad to have found such a great community and I recommend others to give it a try. In terms of the studio itself, you can tell a lot of thought has been put into the decor and layout. I like the hand sensor faucets and changing area. Everything is super clean and nice. Is yoga in me? I have been into fitness all my life, but have never had a chance to try an actual yoga class. I was kind of embarrassed to do it for the first time, especially with me being a guy and all...but it wasn't bad! It was awesome! Everyone was really friendly. The instructor, who was Charie, really took her time with helping others. She guided me thru the tough stretches and poses. She was very encouraging and spoked very clearly. I managed to do the, "crow pose" for the first time! It gets comfortable once you start to get the rhythm. Since then I've been hooked. I am glad I went because now I have more goals other than trying to be in shape. Yoga is sexy! read more

Excellent studio, I would highly recommend. I joined in on classes regularly for a month while I was visiting town and loved it. The owner & the instructors are excellent, a couple of them really went above and beyond with instruction for me personally which I really appreciated. The studio itself is beautiful and very clean, it has good energy the moment you walk in. I took a Gentle Flow with Alex in the morning. She's a wonderful, warm and welcoming instructor. She takes the time to make adjustments and she alters transitions and movements within her class to better suit the students. I also took a Vinyasa class with Charie on a Monday evening. Great class that was detailed and yet relaxing. Classes are small and intimate with talented instructors that left me feeling recharged and furthered in my practice. Elite yoga definitely deserves its name (: I practice Ashtanga with Melissa and Trissa at Elite, and they make the difficult practice of Ashtanga accessible and fun. You won't regret going to Elite Yoga. There's ample free parking and the place is spotless. It's smells clean and after each class, you see both attendees and instructors cleaning. Your mat is included in the price, which is awesome. There's also a place for you to change. As somebody who hasn't done yoga in five years, I was hesitant to join a studio with the name elite in it. Yet, I'm glad I did. The instructors are kind, encouraging, professional and creative when it comes to their practice. Even if you go to the same class weekly, it won't be the exact same thing each time. Since I have to modify most things, the instructors create a really wonderful balance between giving me a good challenge and knowing the limitations of my skill set. There's also variety in the class options ranging from slow stretching to boot camp style with interval training. If you want to grow as a yogi, this is the right place for you. read more

Great studio. The classes tend to be on the smaller side which is great because you get alot of personal instruction and correction on the poses. Charie is one of the best yoga instructors I've ever worked with. She allows you to go at your own pace and adjustments, but is so encouraging that she ends up pushing you to do more than you think you are capable of with each class. I have been going to Women's Elite Yoga for four months now after my former yoga studio shut down. I immediately liked the relaxing and intimate feeling of this place, as well as the great expertise and warmth of Alex the owner and her many teachers. I have been a client at Women's Elite Yoga in La Jolla since it opened and I am really impressed with all aspects of the studio. I have mainly taken the Yin Yoga classes with Olga and Tracey. This is a new practice for me and I feel I am being taught brilliantly from my novice status! The classes are always well structured, expertly lead and cover a good selection of poses.
