My friends and I used ClassPass to try aerial yoga for the first time at Trilogy Sanctuary and honestly it exceeded all expectations. The rooftop location is super cool, open air with beautiful California sunshine and gorgeous views stretching all the way out to La Jolla beach. The colorful hanging fabrics give the whole space such a fun and vibrant energy. Our instructor was amazing, super patient and attentive with each of us to make sure we were doing the poses safely and correctly. I honestly surprised myself with how flexible I still am! The class gave us a really deep stretch and left me feeling relaxed and refreshed in a way I wasn't expecting. The space also has a big yoga dome right next door and a restaurant serving up a great selection of healthy food, which is a nice bonus before or after class. Just a couple things to keep in mind: parking can get tricky so give yourself extra time, and spots in the class fill up fast so make sure to book ahead. I've visited this place a few times while on vacation, and overall it has left a really positive impression on me each time. Ive been going here for years since I vacation to San Diego often. The food is absolutely excellent. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients--everything feels thoughtfully prepared with organic ingredients, refined sugar-free options, minimal oil, and clean cooking methods. It's the kind of place where you finish a meal feeling satisfied and energized rather than overly stuffed, which I really appreciate. Some of my favorite items have been the pancakes, the falafels, and the tacos. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. I will say that I'm pretty sure I've had a similar customer service experience with the same employee on more than one visit. The service felt a bit off or unfriendly, and the wait can sometimes be longer than expected. That said, it hasn't ruined the experience for me. The beautiful setup, relaxing atmosphere, and great views still make it a place I enjoy visiting. To me, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile. When a restaurant prioritizes high-quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation, it shows--and this place definitely delivers on that. I also believe experiences go both ways. Sometimes staff may be having a difficult day just like customers can. I hope the business continues to grow, takes feedback into account, and supports their team so the service can match the incredible food. Overall, this is still a great spot that I'd recommend. As a vegetarian, I'm surprised it took me this long to discover this place. Beyond the food, they also offer a wide variety of classes, though I haven't tried any yet. There are a few indoor tables, but the rooftop outdoor seating is the real highlight, it offers stunning views and is absolutely beautiful. It took me a while to choose what to order because everything looked so tempting. I ended up getting the Sunset Tacos, which were fantastic, though a bit pricey for the portion size. This review is for their aerial yoga only as I did not try their food. I've been meaning to try Aerial yoga for a while, so I was excited to see that Trilogy was on ClassPass. Their classes fill up quick, especially during more desirable times, but I was able to snag a spot recently. Parking is street parking, which can be difficult when La Jolla Cove gets busy. I found a spot and went up to their rooftop, where the yoga would take place. Their roof is gorgeous, so much greenery and an expansive ocean view. I think the one thing that threw me a bit was the fact that the aerial yoga space was open air. While there were canopies. We were directly next to/amidst the outdoor cafe seating. Comfort levels vary, but it's not something I personally liked. The class itself was awesome. Me and another woman were new to aerial yoga and the instructor did a good job guiding us through the more intimidating moves. I found myself flipping, inverting, and holding positions in a hammock I did not think were possible. It was a challenge, but a good one. At the end of class, I really hoped to try something from their cafe, as it all smelled amazing. Unfortunately, I learned that being upside down extensively makes me a bit nauseous, so I had to pass on food for a while. I would love to come back to try their cafe offerings! read more

We've been coming to Trilogy for over ten years and have so much affection for this place. The rustic décor, rooftop setting, and relaxed La Jolla vibe make it feel like a little sanctuary. The yoga and aerial silks add a uniquely magical touch, and the adjacent gift shop is always fun to browse--full of beautiful, interesting finds. On our most recent visit, my son and I ordered four items and found a lovely outdoor table with just the right mix of sun and shade. We appreciated the self-serve water in reusable cups (a win for sustainability), and service time was reasonable. My son ordered the macaroni and cheese, which was reliably creamy and comforting, and the Brussels sprouts. While the sprouts were a bit underwhelming visually, he said they were flavorful and enjoyable. My experience, unfortunately, was more mixed. I ordered the Harvest Bowl and the Acai Bowl, and both missed the mark for me. The Harvest Bowl felt one-note in presentation and flavor--the vegetables appeared overcooked, resulting in a mushy texture with little distinction between components. Given how vibrant and exciting seasonal produce can be, especially at this price point, this was disappointing. The Acai Bowl also fell short for its cost. It arrived very soft and quickly became soupy, which made it feel rushed to eat rather than enjoyable. With a nearly $100 total for four items at lunch, we do expect top-quality ingredients and careful execution. That said, we're leaving this review with genuine affection and hope. Trilogy has been a beloved gem for us for years, and we want to see it thrive and return to the quality it was once known for. We're not price-sensitive diners--we're value- and quality-sensitive--and we know what Trilogy is capable of. We were delighted to find a vegan place and they had some raw options too! They make organic raw juices and smoothies, coffee and really creative food too- like using cauliflower in place of eggs with cashew cheese! We enjoyed the breakfast burrito, the pesto was so flavorful! The quinoa wrap was divine! We also had the detox green juice plus a shot with lemon/ginger/cayenne. The pb cup is the Size of a muffin and we also had a chocolate chip muffin. It was way too much food, but leftovers were great later in the day. Prices are to be expected with this quality of food. We also ordered the huevos rancheros which were delicious and topped with dry apples. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and the cashier was knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful space that looks like it has some fun and unique events that I hope to attend in the future. Staff was very friendly and patient as we figured out what we wanted to try. We started with the Avocado Bruschetta, which was delicious! Only complaint would be that there were too many tomatoes on it, but it was easy to take off. Foodwise, my guy got the Plant Power Bowl (was not actually a bowl. Tempeh was dry and did not taste great. Overall, nothing special) and I got the Miso Bowl (they forgot to put the dressing on the side, but the flavor overall was great! I would definitely get this again). Lastly, we tried their Decadence dessert (really good the first few bites, but got old very quickly. Also, very pricey for what you get). While I enjoyed most of the food, it is on the expensive side and these flavors are the kind that would get old very quickly. Rich but delightful. I shouldn't feel bad for eating it all ‍ Tri Doshic (charcoal) latte (with oil free milk = almond) was just okay. Not much flavor, I will try a different Ayurvedic latte next time. The helpfulness, friendliness and generous staff make your experience even better. We came here for the decompression session and it was a unique and relaxing experience. Snagged a chamomile tea and a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. So delicious! There were many places to sit before the session started. Kids and adults were playing board games and you didn't see people on their phone so it was true to form. This entire space is filled with a multitude of options from the vegan cafe to the retail store with all sorts of spiritual gifts and the dome and other meditation areas. I ordered an iced matcha latte. THIS WAS THE WORST MATCHA LATTE IVE EVER HAD. It was a sprinkle of matcha in a cup of lukewarm oat milk. Absolutely awful and a huge waste of money. I also got an acai bowl (originally wanted to try the breakfast burrito but they werent serving breakfast at the time i went). The acai bowl was extremely underwhelming. Big portion of melted acai slush with small portions of toppings. This was $18 and once again, a massive waste of money. Also the service wasnt nice. The lady taking my order had a bad attitude, barely smiled and wasnt helpful at all. A truly impressive sanctuary. I recently hosted a bachelorette in San Diego and booked a vinyasa class at Trilogy for our group of five. I've never been so awe struck by a yoga studio. Trilogy is an immersive studio, located in a multi-story building that features a number of different spaces. They have two indoor rooms that offer privacy, dark ambiance, and a heated practice. As well as two outdoor spaces on their rooftop: the dome and Sky Deck for aerial yoga/pilates. Here's a breakdown of the different rooms: Indoor / Earth Room - level 3 Indoor / Moon Room - level 3 Rooftop / Dome Rooftop / Sky Deck We booked the $10 community class in the Dome with Hali'a Tani. Hali'a Tani was a great instructor for our group. We had a number of first-timers and she was patient throughout the flow. Hali'a also did a great job of cracking jokes and lightening the mood, making our practice silly and lighthearted. In addition to traditional vinyasa, Trilogy offers classes for breathwork, sound baths, prenatal, meditation, and even courses to nail down your headstand. Not only do they have a plethora of class options, but the studio also features an onsite vegan restaurant. We took full advantage and ordered smoothies post-workout. Practicing yoga in a dome was definitely a bucket experience, especially since the rooftop has spectacular views of the La Jolla coastline. It was quite filling for two of us, and we also got a nice Shroomed elevated infusion drink with a bunch of mushrooms - it was very unique and delicious! Trilogy Sanctuary is a one stop hub for all things healthy. All of their classes are wonderful especially their aerial yoga class which they offer every day of the week. I have also taken their community vinyasa class at the dome, which can get pretty toasty on sunny afternoons. The service here is very mellow and go with the flow. You order at the cashier, get a number and wait between 5-10 minutes for your food. All of their food is vegan, gluten free, and soy free with optional seed oil. Their menu items can be on the pricier side (ranging from $15-$22) of casual fast food but not by much considering the cost of living in SD. Parking: Street parking can be a pain so plan to get here an hour to 30 minutes ahead of time especially if you are based in central San Diego. I find parking to be very difficult between the hours of 11-5 pm especially on weekends. Price: $$ Recommendations: Their lentil dish as well as their community aerial class. Though they did seem busy, servers weren't very friendly. One of them bumped me in a rush and didn't apologize. I got the vegan nachos. It's around $18 but it makes sense because I'd say the portion is enough for 2 meals or 2 people! They also give a lot of avocado and it's a good addition. The quinoa chili was very flavorful and pretty tomatoey based, which I liked. The black beans and pico are good for extra protein, flavor and texture. I got the cashew cheese and cashew sour cream on the side. The "cheese" was very cheesy but didn't necessarily taste like nacho cheese. The sour cream had a good flavor but didn't taste like sour cream. In both, the cashew was prominent in texture but not in a bad way. Took a class today in the Yoga Dome. The class was the perfect combination of strength, flexibility, and balance. Loved the instructor and her message and really enjoyed the longer time for meditation and breath work at the end. My only beef is with the floor in there. The dome has a super cool vibe, but the floor is made out of some sort of synthetic wood and I think it's been warped by the heat/sun. So there are ridges underneath my mat when I'm practicing. Occasionally, my foot would hit one and would be in a painful spot and I wouldn't be able to hold a posture. There are several spaces for yoga in this building. I saw four of them while I'm there and there might be even more than that. There's also a café that was pumping out some seriously good smelling food. Definitely a place I will return to. read more

Despite being traditionally a heavier dish, these enchiladas still felt fresh. The miso bowl had very fresh ingredients, with a fresh sour/gingery sauce. The roasted rosemary potates were also great. Every dish felt like it was well thought out. Also, got a chocolate chip muffin for the next day which also was soft and moist. The waitress came across as flippant, disinterested, and unmistakably cold, barely saying a word to us, as if customers were an inconvenience rather than the reason the place exists. There was no warmth, no attentiveness, and certainly no sense of hospitality--just an air of indifference that sucked the enjoyment out of the entire experience. The waitress made us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in, which of course made it difficult to enjoy our meal. Good food can't compensate for such poor service, and until the attitude changes, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are so many options to get good food, good service and a nice ambiance elsewhere, don't bother spending your time or money here as long as this waitress is around. This was undoubtedly the most apathetic, careless, and unloving service I've ever seen and I'm shocked how this person found employment anywhere. read more

However, it was somewhat uncomfortable with people starring at myself and others doing yoga for prolonged periods in strange manners. I really wish there was maybe some kind of curtain or fastened material maybe from the deck to the top of the apparatus structure that afforded a bit of privacy to yogis. The view was very nice, and it was quiet other than the restaurant goers who answered phone calls loudly and would step away from tables into yoga area to talk on the calls. Maybe a sign for low voices during yoga practices or to step inside near the hallway or elevator if taking a phone call would be helpful. read more
