Not only did Mac 911 NOT show me how to check, they charged me $175 to crack it open and do a diagnostic and charged me $407 to recover my data on an external hard drive. I'm thankful they were able to recover it, but everyone I've spoken to has told me I WAY overpaid. They wanted to charge me $1800 to send it out and fix it. "It's a 2019 anyway, it didn't have much time left," I was told. They knew I was broke and panicked and it feels like they saw me coming. Feel totally taken advantage of, and, frankly, Don has all the warmth and personality of dried brush on the side of a dirt road. He seems rather indifferent about the importance of one's machine. HE's a machine. Mac 911 would be my last choice for problems with your Mac product. They're great if you're rich. They bled me dry. Sure wish my computer stayed dry.

I recently spilled a drink on my 2019 MacBook Pro and knew it needed professional attention. After…read morelooking at a few options on Yelp, I chose Mac Studio because its expertise in both Mac products and spill-related repairs stood out. He urged me to come in right away (caveat: the parking scarcity near Abbott Kinney does add some delay). Anthony immediately stopped his work to open up and visually inspect my laptop's internals. He did this right in front of me, explaining his findings, and showing me relevant items under magnification. Unfortunately this included a pair of tiny chips with one melted side on each, that I would never have noticed myself, though could easily smell once he pushed it toward me. This transparency (and his obviously skills) gave me confidence I could trust his assessment... which at minimum included waiting 2 days for dry-out, replacing the motherboard, and very possibly discovering other problems once power was restored. He warned that the costs would likely surpass the laptop's value. I'm not a decisive person, but I made the decision to scrap it right there, confident I avoided a potential rabbit hole of cost and time. He also offered his expert recommendation on a new model and specs (which he does not sell, and has nothing to gain). Overall, he spent about 45 minutes with me, and refused any payment for his time. Anthony is accommodating, knowledgeable, honest, and honorable. Mac Studio will definitely be my first stop for any future service needs. Highly recommend! PS. I purchased his recommended model on sale an hour later and was back up and running the next day!
