We met about a month ago to discuss concept. He showed me a sketch of the tattoo about a week before our appointment. When the day came, he was very professional, clean, and described to me what he was doing the whole way through. This included describing steps he was taking to sanitize my arm, what each different size needle was used for, etc. I highly recommend going to Evolved. read more

The receptionist was great at answering them as well as providing extra info to ensure that we got the best tattoos - ones we would love and that would last - including position, size and font. Have been meaning to come to the Summit street location since I moved here, but held off so I wouldn't max my credit card out haha. I finally went in for a simple jewelry change, but ended up buying a beautiful top for my philtrum and a gold seam ring to stack behind my septum. The help from the counter people was amazing (I didn't get your name(s)! But you know who you are!) They made me feel super comfortable and helped me pick the perfect pieces. Amanda installed my new pieces and she was great! Super nice and gentle, great bedside manor. Had an appointment for my daughter at the high st location. When we got there for our appointment, after we filled out all the forms we were told they are not piercing septum at this location. Why TF would they let us make an appointment that they cannot honor? We were told we can go to the Summit st location and they would get us right in. When we arrived we were told it's an hour wait! Even though we had an appointment at the other place that they could not honor and high Street called Summit to let them know to get us in right away. Since this is my only day off this month I told my daughter we would just wait. Well after waiting over 2 hours we were finally taken care of. As somebody who owns a small business, and has spent hours upon hours in tattoo shops, I feel the way we were treated was ridiculously unprofessional. I could not in good faith recommend evolved to anybody. Especially if you value your time. With all of that said, Christa took care of the piercing and she was awesome. I started researching artists and studios over 2 years ago and a friend recommended Evolved. She has had good experiences. I decided to book with Katrina and had waited 6 months and given my deposit and done my consultation. I recieved an email stating she was no longer there and when I asked for a refund was politely referred to another artist. I am happy to say I was able to connect with Katrina again since her work is what I truly wanted and if you are her client you can reach her by email at Katrina@akashicink.com I am disappointed that a business like this would not respect the artist and redirect clients, I would have been happy to give referrals if you would have done that for me. This was very stressful and unpleasant and your redirection with her relocation could have made a big difference for myself and the rest of her clients. Me and my friend didn't even get a tattoo because we were at the north high street location and they told us to go to the summit location because they had a walk in appointment available right now. When we got to the summit location they told us the artist had just left for no reason. He was already sent our reference photos and knew we were coming. They told us just to come back a different day and had no reason for why he left. It's extremely unprofessional and I do not recommend going here at all. read more

First time here and everything was very nice! The environment is interesting there's a lot of tribal body modifications history and a outstanding amount of jewelry to choose from. I went on a Tuesday which at this time is buy a piercing get one free you just have to buy jewelry. The wait was understandably long for the event but there was plenty to look at and keep your mind busy. Souso was the person that pierced my friend and I. Ambiance is great. Seriously fab. The actual piercing experience was horrible, though, making the ambiance nothing but disappointment and lies. I went in because my I lost my jewelry while moving and my 16g septum piercing had closed. I wanted to repierce it with a simple steel clicker ring. The piercer I spoke with (Jared?) said it could probably be tapered open instead of repierced, assured me they had the jewelry I wanted, and brought me to the back. He pulled out a taper (that I didn't see him unwrap and about which I got no sterilization info) that looked about right and had me tilt my head back. I thought he was just going to check to see if the holes were open or whatever. No, he jammed what I later learned was a 14g taper right through the hole, pushing it open as he went. Did I mention I didn't want it stretched??? And that there was a ripping sensation in my nose? Y'all, I didn't even see LUBE on it! Hurt like hell. Then, when my eyes were already watering and I had this huge taper stuck in my face, he tells me that oops, they don't have the jewelry I asked for. This was actually a big deal for me. I hate captive rings in my septum because I obsess over keeping the ball centered and it drives me batty. That's why I stick with either segment rings or clickers. He flat refused to do a segment ring - too fiddly, apparently - and didn't have a clicker in stock. Best he could do? A horseshoe ring. Which gave me TWO balls to center. Fab. I agreed because I already had a SKEWER THROUGH MY FACE. What was I gonna do, say no and have to do that AGAIN? Talk about a bait and switch! I received no sterile info about the tools or the jewelry and frankly just wanted to get out as fast as possible. However, right before I walked out and as a seeming afterthought/upsell opportunity he gave me a quick spiel on aftercare for new piercings and tried to sell me saline. Thanks? As a side note, no aftercare supplies are provided with the piercing price. Not even a little packet of salt. The saline was an extra $10 a bottle. And considering they carry H2Ocean for tattoos, it bummed me out that they didn't carry the piercing spray. THAT I wouldn't have minded paying extra for. I don't know anything about the tattoo side of things, but this place is AWFUL for piercings. I had a bad experience with the procedure itself, the jewelry, the aftercare, AND the piercer. The two people I went in with ALSO had bad experiences. This is 10 minutes from my house, but now I drive right on by and head for Piercology when I need work done. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

His creativity, expertise, attention to detail and work is second to none! Evolved is one of the best shops I've found in the city. Every single one of their artist and piercing professionals are absolutely amazing and professional. They make you feel comfortable and at home. They offer a huge selection of jewelry. On Thursday they have a bogo piercing sale. And on Tuesday they have a free piercing with the purchase of jewelry sale. I made an appointment for my 3.5 year old daughter to get her earlobes pierced. The shop required me to provide her birth certificate and photo identification card (that was an annoying step!). We arrived on time for our appointment but waited an hour to select jewelry and meet the piercer. It is busy on Saturdays. The check-in folks did neglect to tell us that we were supposed to notify them when we completed the paperwork. That made the wait longer. Finally, we met the piercer. The piercer asked if she wanted to get her ear lobes pierced and my daughter replied "Yes!". They will check with the minor for consent. I don't agree with this practice since I am her mother, but I get why they require it. The piercer was SO awesome and gentle and made my daughter very comfortable! As usual, they walked us through the process of piercing while my daughter sat on my lap. She tried to find another piercer to do both piercings at once, but no one else was available. She proceeded to pierce the first lobe, with all kinds of encouragement to breathe, and then encouraged her that she could be brave and do the second one. It worked! She discussed aftercare with us and my daughter strutted out to the lobby. EVERYONE in the shop expressed their joy for her, which I know absolutely solidified her good experience. I went to Evolved for my first tattoo. My son has received several tattoos at this location, and recommended Mike. For my very first experience, it was much easier and relaxed than I anticipated. Mike told me everything that he was doing, what to expect, and continued to reassure me as he was doing my tattoo that everything was going well, and how much longer it would take to complete. Post-care instructions were clearly outlined, and the hand-out provided with these directions was very well written. I have had several tattoos done by Evolved (at the other location), but this was the first time getting a piercing there. On my birthday, my beautiful wife wanted to treat me to something that I have been wanting for a long time... an industrial piercing. So, on my birthday, we headed over to Evolved to see what we can get done. As I walked into this location, I immediately felt like I was in an Evolved location. The building was clean and full of wonderful plants that made the air feel clean. The gentleman working the front desk was very pleasant and helped us after finishing up with other customers. He helped me pick out the ends I wanted and with his consultation, I picked ones that were comfortable. We were immediately paired up with a piercer and off to the races we went! She answered all my questions and did a wonderful job explaining the technicalities of this specific piercing. She went so far as to explain the sensation I would get when the piercing was being done. Once it was all lined up to my satisfaction, she performed the piercing. As expected, lots of pressure, lots of cracking (from the cartilage) and bam! It was done. She tightened everything down, cleaned me up and took my picture. One thing I really appreciated while she lined it all up was that she explained how the shape of my ear was perfect for this type of piercing. It really showed me that she cared about her work and not just the money as I felt that if my ear did not work for this piercing, she wouldn't have done it. We then went back into the waiting area and all was well. She provided some paperwork that explained more about the hardware I received, which was nice because I referred to it when I ordered new jewelry. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this location and company and I will forever come to them for all my body modifications because you can trust that they will do good work. read more

My friend and I went to Evolved last week to get lip tattoos, spent $150 each on them, and they didn't even last 24 hours. We followed all the steps and precautions, so not sure why they did not last even a day. We know people who have gotten lip tattoos at other shops and still have their tattoos 2+ years later. To make it even worse, our tattoos were crooked. We contacted Evolved and asked if we could even get half our money back, and they refused to give us anything. I went in for a tattoo consultation. This a really nice place. Very homey with art all over the walls and plants in the window. Plenty of parking behind the building at corner of Summit and Hudson. They have tons of beautiful jewelry for piercings of all kinds. While I was there I asked if they could get me in for a cartilage piercing. And yes they could! I have nickel allergies so I was a little worried but they assured me they only carry the good stuff. I ended up choosing a gold loop to go with the earrings I always wear. Sosa took care of me - it was my first piercing besides ear lobes. He was very professional, walked me through what I'd need to do for aftercare, and helped me relax. It only hurt for a second then everything was ok. I'm excited to go back for my tattoo appointment in February. I really like this store. Made an appointment through the artist Sydney. Place was super busy, even during the pandemic. With that being said they handled everything extremely professionally. Everyone was taken care of almost immediately. They kept to the rules of sanitizing, masks, keeping a distance, etc with grace. And everyone was friendly. Sydney, my artist, was professional, and easy to talk to. She's not only an insanely talented artist, she is someone that you could feel comfortable getting a tattoo from on any spectrum. I have gone to either evolved location for 3/6 of my tattoos and piercings. I've never had issues there, staff was friendly and professional and did great work. However a few months ago I got my belly button double pierced. I had previously had the top done and wanted the bottom done. I came back to get the jewelry of my top healed piercing changed. Had the same gentleman who did my newest piercing. He looked at my stomach and then proceeded to tell me I haven't been taking care of my new piercing, when I very well have. I clean it every day, and he said it looked very bad and that I haven't cleaned it in a long time. After he changed my jewelry, he proceeded to get some kind of cleaner and PUSH down on my new piercing. It was incredibly painful and unprofessional. I didn't ask for him to do anything with that piercing. I don't know that I'll be returning to this location in the future, or if I do just not get that artist. read more

first of all i had an appointment for 6:30 here and i got there a couple minutes early whatever, nobody greets us or anything and it's my first time here so i didn't know if i was supposed to check in or what. after i figure it out and check in through the qr code they tell me it's going to be ONE OR TWO HOURS OF A WAIT when i specifically booked an appointment and made sure this wasn't going to happen. also i'm pretty sure everyone else in the store was a walk in and not through appointments either. it's like 8pm at this point the hour when they CLOSE and some lady did my lip piercing but she didn't even use clamps or any piercing equipment like that and i even questioned her ab it like i'm not comfortable with you freehanding a literal ashley piercing, and it was crooked and also too low on my lip? worst managed place ever don't get your piercings here because they are very unprofessional and disrespectful and will literally ignore you if you don't follow the correct procedure or whatever to sign in. worst place ever and the piercer took way too long piercing my lip, didn't get the right size bar or ball so she had to switch around with my new piercing even more which caused even MORE PAIN that she took so long to pierce in the first place. i heard her complaining that i barely tipped her when i was walking out, of course not this is a horrible horrible place like excuse me. read more

How are there NO reviews for this place??? It'd be an honor to write the first one! I got my first tattoo done by Chris Borchik. Great guy. He did a puzzle piece on my wrist for my brother with autism. Even for that 5 minute tattoo, he sanitized everything and took this tattoo seriously which meant a lot because after calling another local tattoo shop (not affiliated with evolved) and talking to a specific artist they literally told me that my tattoo was not worth their time and that he does 6 hour pieces frequently. So I have a very big amount of appreciation for Chris. This was back in June. Let's fast forward to last Sunday. I got a large piece done by Brett and my GOD I cannot even begin to explain how amazing he did. Brett moved like lightning, but took such careful notice to detail. He was very quick getting started which is what I needed with all of the nerves I had built up. He put his music on and went into his own world while giving me my tattoo and it truly couldn't have come out more beautiful. I LOVE this tattoo shop and I love going in even with my friends when they are getting a tattoo/piercing simply because the whole staff makes you feel welcome. 10/10.... I originally started going to the high street location. But parking was so difficult and the employees were rude and condescending. Once this location opened I started coming here and I love it! The shop is so pretty and has its own parking lot. Plus I've had very positive experiences with the employees. The prices aren't cheap but they always have days where you can get good discounts on piercings, and that makes it worth while. I've never had a problem or bad experience at this location, and I will keep coming back! read more
