First things first, when I got tattooed here the shop was practicing incredible safety protocols. The lobby was cleared and guests/staff spaced apart, plenty of hand sanitizer available, directional signs, and everyone was wearing masks. This was not a detriment to the welcome. I was received with great conversation and warm energy all around. I was getting tattooed on Thanksgiving / my birthday. Since many places aren't open on holidays, this was a special treat for me! Days ahead of the appointment I coordinated with my artist - Luka - on my design idea. While I had the theme and some elements I wanted to incorporate, I had no idea how to put this idea to paper and Luka did *all* the magic. I was blown away by the beauty of the rough sketch and final draft, and thrilled to see how much the design matched the theme I was going for. Luka expressed as much excitement as I did about doing this tattoo. I don't think Ive ever been more excited than on tattoo day. I left the shop with a black & grey dilapidated cottage on a mushroomy grassy skull with dangling roots. Luka tattooed with such ease and precision I felt like I could sit for hours just talking while being gently stabbed repeatedly by needles. I was so impressed with all the details Luka added. So many dainty lines that they pulled flawlessly. Beautiful shades of black and grey that have softened fabulously over time. Their aftercare instructions were easy to follow and made for great healing. I had the tattooed colored in by another artist at the 2413 N High location. My artist now - Charity - was so energetic and extroverted. Everything I can say about Lukas's character I can say about Charity's. My tattoo was finished with beautiful muted earthy tones that brought the piece to life. Luka is the master of nature theme black & grey, and Charity is the master of color. I couldn't have found a better pair to collab on my tattoo. Both worked within my budget and made sure I was happy with the piece every step of the way. I will absolutely go back to Luka and Charity for the rest of my dead nature sleeve and I highly recommend you go there for yours too! 100/10, impressed beyond belief read more

I just got home from a piercing session (nostril and conch) at the Summit Street location and I couldn't be more thrilled! I decided to walk in without an appointment and was told it might be a while since appointments would take priority. I was asked to complete some online information and within just a few minutes of finishing that I was called up to choose jewelry. I had an idea of what I wanted already but the associate was really helpful, answering my questions and showing me numerous price points along with some lovely alternatives that were made by their on-site jewelers. I never felt pressured to buy the most expensive options, I really appreciate that! Went with a small diamond for my nostril and a large cubic zirconia for my ear....both of them lovely and very sparkly! Once I chose my jewelry I was asked to wait until an opening was available. I think I only had to wait for five or ten minutes (it went super fast as I was enjoying looking around). Brody was my piercer and he was a gem! He was super friendly and easy to talk to; I appreciated that he seemed happy to engage in some small talk as it really put me at ease. I let him know what I was looking for and he marked me up and told me to take a look and let him know if I had any questions. I had a few questions about each piercing and he was open to them and very genuine with his responses (I never felt like I was asking "dumb" questions even though a few of them might have been!) Both piercings went really well with very minor discomfort...more pressure than anything painful really. I had questions about the location of my conch piercing as I wanted it to be visible and I'm glad I went with Brody's placement, it came out perfectly! I had some questions about some old piercings too and Brody was really helpful with that as well. I had the absolute pleasure to get a tattoo from Luka at the 1980 N High St location this past Saturday. I have been following and admiring an array of artists from Evolved prior, but I was especially looking forward to getting to work with Luka. They truly made the experience very easy and enjoyable...from the straightforward booking, detailed consultation, and constant communication through email, I was more than eager to get in their chair. When the day actually came, I was greeted by such an incredible human who you can tell has a true passion and sense of professionalism when it comes to tattooing/art. They explained everything to me, such as what materials were being used (ink, glide, etc), what they do to create a sanitary set up, and also a detailed aftercare routine that would ensure my tattoo stay looking beautiful. Above all else though, Luka did an amazing job and creating a safe space for me and I'm sure all of their clients. There was never a point where I felt insecure in myself during the entire appointment. I think this is so important, especially for individuals who may be nervous about getting a tattoo, or those who had body confidence issues. Furthermore, I think Luka would be an amazing fit for individuals of the LGBTQIA+ community who are specifically seeking someone who ensures comfort and safety to them, especially since Luka is apart of the community themself. All in all, I am so pleased and fortunate to only live 20 minutes away from an amazing artist and person. I could tell how much time they dedicated specifically to me and my design. I can tell there was so much time, thought, and research that went into the whole experience. And for that I am forever grateful. Dave was amazing! I want as support for a friend who was getting a piercing, and when the front desk lady asked if we were both getting pierced, I mentioned that I can't because my existing piercings get infected so easily. Dave overheard and said the problem was likely just a metal allergy, which he knows a lot about because has that same issue. He explained that some people's immune systems freak out over any metal below medical grade (which is the stuff used in joint replacements and bone repair), and most jewelry is nowhere near that level of quality. He then suggested I pick out a cheap earring (naturally, Evolved sells only medical grade metals, because they take safety VERY seriously) and try wearing it for a few days to see if it bothers me. Sure, it'd cost about $30, but it might be worth the money to find out for sure if I'm one of the tiny percentage for whom piercings are an absolute no-go. I decided he had a good point, so I picked out a small hoop while my friend was getting her piercing done (she loved working with him, and the piercing looks great on her!). The earring I chose came in a sterile packet, and Dave put it in for me, slowly stretching the partially closed earring hole with a tapered needle to minimize damage. He was very gentle and pleasant throughout the process, and his room is full of beautiful landscape photos he's taken around Ohio. I was there 10 days ago, and I've had no issues whatsoever with the earring! I'm now planning to go back and get one for my other ear. Evolved. The best shop in town for all your body art needs. I have been tattooed by Joe Langley several times and every time it's a fantastic and learning experience. Joe is an amazing artist. Clean lines, detailed beautiful work. Recently he reworked one of my tats and I gave him artist freedom to add to it. The result was more than I could ever ask for and then some. Joe is clean, prepared and focused. When you are in his chair you will hear a wide variety of music and it's all fascinating. Joe is also an author. I highly recommend reading his work. Thank you Joe Langley for the amazing artwork! I have also been pierced by Shidoshi. It all started with a nostril piercing. In my mind I was prepared or lots of pain. As i sat in the very clean waiting area, I tried to calm myself down. Shidoshi's calm vibe and patience were a huge help so that I was able to enjoy the experience. The room was clean and sterile and he was also very thorough in keeping everything that way. Shidoshi explained the procedure and also made me aware of what he was about to do. With the deep breathing and his wicked sense of humor, it was over before I knew it! I was super excited with his work. Placement is perfect. I loved it so much I had the other side done by him as well!!! Shidoshi has also pierced my daughter and I can say hands down he is fantastic with kids! Travis was an extremely kind and incredible artist. He made me feel super comfortable during my first tattoo, ensuring I was happy with the size and placement of my tattoo. He also started on a small part, very slowly so I could get a feel for what I was in for. I greatly appreciated it and it calmed my nerves immensely. The pricing quote was accurate and making an appointment over the phone was easy. Travis was very personable and easy to talk to throughout the entire session. Got my nose pierced and Jess was my piercer. I had come in with my 8 year old step daughter (and her dad/my husband of course) and my stepdaughter was scheduled to get her ears pierced. She went first but ended up being too scared. But the patience and complete professionalism was incredible. Even though she ended up not getting them my husband and I were so incredibly impressed. She brought in (Kim? Sorry I forgot her name) as a potential second piercer and Kim was also so kind and helpful to my stepdaughter and have some tips and other options to maybe help in the future too. My nose piercing was actually 100% painless and quick and I LOVE it!! Not only was my actual piercing experience great but the front desk experience was great too. We didn't bring her birth certificate (error on reading on my part) but they were quick with options to get it figured out. Picking out jewelry was a breeze and she was very knowledgeable on all the pricing and there were no hidden fees that got tacked on at the end and that was super great too. I recently visited Evolved and received a tattoo from Anna Banana and let me just say she is phenomenal. Her workspace is very clean and she even allows you to see her set up her workspace. This really provides me with peace of mind and helps me to know for a fact that everything is as it should be. Anna is also overall a phenomenal artist. I have had 3 tattoos added to my canvas by her and she never disappoints me. And the cleanliness of her line work is astounding! I have had an artist who will almost always have inconsistencies when comparing the left side of a tattoo to the right. Anna is NOT that type of artist at all. The quality of her work is impeccable and my biggest tattoo that I received was completely symmetrical in every way. Anna is also always tentative about how her clients are feeling and will allow breaks as needed. Even if the client has not vocalized the need for a break she will ask if the client is doing well and is feeling ok throughout the process. I could rave about her all day! I will never go to another artist as long as I live in the Columbus Area! read more

My first time ever in a tattoo and piercing shop and my experience was awesome. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and patient(especially Ravyn)! I got a piercing done by Sosa, and I just loved him. He spent time with me while I decided where exactly I wanted my piercing, he was patient, offered advice and his opinion, but in the end did what I asked. My piercing was done within a matter of seconds. I would definitely recommend Evolved from my experience. The shops' environment is relaxed, clean, and welcoming. I went back to Evolved a few weeks later, and the staff remembered me, which made me feel really welcomed and cared for. This is the only place I'm going from now on for piercings and jewelry because I believe I can trust their expertise and knowledge. They aren't afriad to tell someone something can't be done, because they would rather do the best job possible and provide you with a healthy successful piercing/tattoo, rather than just do whatever you want, and have it be bad long term. I went to Evolved body art today to get my nips pierced. I was greeted immediately, treated with the utmost respect and given all the info I needed and asked for. I was shown the type of jewelry that they were going to use. Shown upgrades that were available and also shown beautiful jewelry that I could change/upgrade to once my piercing was healed enough to change. I was then taken back to the extremely clean and private piercing room by my piercer, Jared. He was extremely personable, explained what he was going to do and helped me breath through it. It hurt wayyyy less than I'd heard and I attribute that to Jared's skill level. My piercing looked amazing, I felt completely comfortable and informed the entire time. We walked out, he thoroughly explained the cleaning and healing process, let me know that once I was ready to change out my piercings, I could come back to Evolved, pick out something from their huge selection to purchase and they'd change it out for free. After a traumatic experience in my childhood getting my ear pierced at the mall about 20 years ago in 8th grade! I dreaded getting my ears pierced for years! Long story short my ears got infected and had to get them removed from the doctors office with pliers and other medical tools. Jump to end of 2020 and people started buying me earrings for christmas and I didnt have the hear to say I can't take these..my ears are not pierced :(. So I held on to those earrings because I told myself one day I would get them pierced. My husband brought me in as a birthday present this year and I was paired with Emmanuel! They were so nice and gentle with my ears and very knowledgable for only learning English a little over a year ago :D! I shared my previous experience and we shared a beautiful moment in the room! Tears of happiness were shed and hugs exchanged! I felt a sense of healing and will definitely be back again and would love to stay paired with Em but im sure all piercers and tattooist are just as amazing! This is my 3rd trip to Evolved, and I drove 3 hrs from Michigan specifically to see them for my surface anchor. I made an appointment at one of the High St studios, but after I arrived they told me that they didn't have a piercer there who did surface anchors and sent me to the Summit studio. That was a little annoying, but I'm glad they were honest with me instead of getting someone who was unexperienced to do it. There was a misunderstanding about my appointment time when I went to Summit, but Mickey straightened out everything and got me in first thing the next day. Claire was very helpful in getting me set up, and Nahuel absolutely nailed my piercing. He give me a ton of information before he got started (surface anchors are tricky and he wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I was getting into), and the end result was absolutely perfect. I actually don't know where to begin as there's not enough praise to show the awesomeness that this tattoo shop truly possesses. I know that back in early June 2021 I saw Evolved's artist Bob and after discussing our vision as to what it was that I was looking for, we finally came together (mostly Bob) with one bad ass mother f**king tattoo. The 16 hour flew by within both sessions. Who knew that tattoo artist are also therapists!! While discussing my piece Bob sat back and gave nothing but support in hearing why I chose this artwork. All said and done, I have to schedule for my new piece the first part of 2022 with Bob again to kick off and help me start a new adventure. If I could rate this business higher than 5 I would !! I highly recommend going here if you want professional tattoo work performed as since this is after all, something you will live with the rest of your life. I had been wanting a nostril piercing for some time, but was never able to work up the courage to do it. I asked tons of my friends that had nose piercings how bad it was, and what it felt like, and they all said it was a quick pinch and it was done. So I finally talked myself into it, and I went in for one of their free piercing Tuesday's. I was helped right away when I walked in, the clerk was super nice and helped me pick out the right size and piercing for my nose, I wish I would have gotten their name so I could thank them. It was a bit of a wait, but that was expected for the Tuesday promotion. When it was finally my turn I was really nervous but Sosa was super nice and super quick. I felt a little pinch and before I knew it my nose was pierced! I would highly recommend asking for Sosa if you ever go to the Summit ST. Columbus location! It was very clean and very organized. I recently got another series of piercings from Kelsi at Evolved. She is truly amazing. I got an Upper Helix and my eyebrow double pierced. Despite some jitters because I hadn't had my cartilage done before, she was extremely thorough and walked me through the entire process, as she always had. I had LITERALLY no pain when she completed the piercing, which I was shocked and elated about! I had heard horror stories of how much cartilage can hurt and was so relieved to experience the opposite! With the brows, she heard my wants and concerns about placement and DAMN! She triple checked and got them so even I couldn't believe it! She's so amazingly skilled that she did it freehand, (so no annoying and irritating clamps!!) The 1980 high street location is my absolute favorite place to be pierced! Everyone i've worked with both at the front counter and as piercers have been incredible!! They are all so kind and professional and not least of all VERY talented. when you get there and complete the check in paperwork they ask your pronouns (thank you ) and the wait is usually (always in my experience) very quick. Today I was pierced by Dave who is now my go to piercer for sure. We bonded over both being Geminis and had wonderful conversation about his photography while he marked my nostril for piercing. Dave was very patient with me and my nit-picking and made sure i was 100% happy with the placement before he pierced me. Such a professional, talented, and kind person!! I've never had a bad experience going here , this is literally the only place I go for piercings. I like the North High St location the best but the summit location is nice as well. Both locations are very clean and friendly I'm just use to the high street location because it's closer. Everyone knows what they are doing and make you feel very comfortable! I recently got my septum pierced ( 10/11) and I believe the person who did it was Holly. I felt very comfortable and they made me feel so confident, I have a collapsed nostril and so my nose is like flat on one side but they made me feel so confident and beautiful. They reassured me that we all look unique and that if we were all symmetrical we wouldn't all have something special about us. Anyways I'm rambling the point is this is a wonderful shop. This was my first time getting pierced at this location. The desk staff were lovely and the piercers were all wonderful. The shop was super busy (It was on a Saturday) but everyone continued to be relaxed and friendly. I did not feel rushed in picking out my jewelry even with a line. Jess did my 5! Piercings and was courteous and professional. She checked in with me after each piercing and was just overall wonderful to work with! She was clearly passionate and excited about her craft. They have a ton of jewelry options as well. I prefer gold as I have had some weird reactions to other metals in the past. They had lots of different sizes and end choices. The price point is a little high, but it was worth the experience of the staff and choices IMO. Piercings and tattoos are definitely on the "get what you pay for" spectrum. read more

I have been going to Evolved to get pierced since I first moved to Columbus for OSU (fall 2019). I absolutely adore them. Their jewelry is high quality and body safe, they are incredibly sanitary, they are highly trained... I could go on and on. All of my facial piercings I have had done at Evolved, with most of them being done by Amanda. I adore Amanda so so much, and if you have the chance to get pierced by her, I recommend it. My favorite location is the Summit location, because I live off campus and I am closest to it. I also have a car and like to drive, and they have a small parking lot behind the shop. My first piercing from them was my septum, which was done at the High Street location. Since my septum had healed so well, I continued to go back, and the way my piercings have held up so nicely has kept me coming back. read more
