I am SO grateful that we found Ms. Patty and Ms. Alma!! Enrollment was a smooth process and it didn't take my kids long to warm up to everyone. They truly provide the most loving, nurturing, and wholesome environment for the kids and it is EXACTLY what I had hoped for when looking for care. Patty keeps them on a schedule and always has fun things planned for them and my kids absolutely love it there. She also provides healthy (and homemade!) meals and snacks which saves me so much time in the mornings. She keeps her home very clean, organized, and safe for the kids. I am always blown away by the things they learn from Patty and Alma - not just educational things (which are AMAZING - Patty does Circle Time and my kids absolutely love it and learn SO much!!) but also things like life skills and manners and how to be kind to one another. My daughter has some neurological issues that can make her a bit of a challenge from time to time - I've always felt extremely comfortable with how Patty handles my daughter and her special needs. She is gentle and patient with her and it really shows. I've also been very impressed with how Patty has handled the pandemic from a business perspective - she keeps us informed of changes policies and state guidelines, and it's just been nice to have consistency for my kids during these times. She's been incredibly reliable and that's something that is important to me (especially when it comes to my children). Sadly, we will be moving away from the area soon and the hardest part of our move is not being able to send our kids to Patty and Alma's every day. They have such a positive impact on our children, and are truly like family to them. We will miss them ALL - their whole family and all of the kids - SO much! I only recently stopped using their services (my son was with them 3 days a week for about 3-4 months), so my son still asks when he can go back. When I would pick my baby up from the daycare he would always be on the floor with no cover screaming crying. He was definitely being treated different. After speaking with several providers in Brentwood, we decided between Lucky Bear and one other place. The one thing that made us reluctant to enroll here was that we were the first family to join. However, Alla was happy to provide us with professional references from her career as a teacher, and invited us to meet with her family for an extended interview. The home is perfectly set up; with a great play area outdoors and a big rotating selection of toys. The emphasis here is education, which is HUGE for my wife and I (especially since I am a teacher). Alla has a "school schedule" for the kids and tailors the curriculum to the appropriate ages. Our kids bring home cute crafts, learning materials (like study books that Alla has made for them), and they always eat well. Alla also cooks lunches with fresh and healthy ingredients. Aside from all of this, Alla is just great with kids. My kids adore her and ask about going to Alla's house often. Any parent can relate to how unnerving it is to leave their kids at a new place, but we highly recommend Lucky Bear for anyone looking for a small adult-child ratio and a positive and loving environment.
