The person who came to do the job for me appeared to have one key objective: do as little work as possible and leave as soon as possible. Specifics: (1) When I was checking the work after they were done, I pointed out 8 sprinklers that they simply did not touch and were not working at all. They were is a very obvious place. This made me wonder how much I should trust this work, (2) During the day, he asked me to confirm that he will be doing area A and B, and did not mention area C, which was part of the original plan. When I pointed it out, he agreed, and I then realized that he perceived some difficulty in this area and thus was hoping it did not exist! (3) He pushed back on doing minor polish things like removing an old drip line or pouring pebbles to cover the new one. He said this would take more time and I should schedule another appointment to do it. I was already doing an $1,800 job, with 4 hours of labor. Spending 2-3 more minutes on such a trivial polish would not have made a difference, but he pushed back anyways. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend Dr Sprinkler.

Before he arrived, I ran the irrigation system to see which valve was - the problem and then realized one of the watering stations was dead. When Neal arrived, he was professional, friendly and super competent. As another reviewer has written, Neal is a true gentleman. He troubleshot the system and found the issue, which required a new valve to be installed as well as a wire to be relocated. Before he left, I showed him some sprinkler heads that we had replaced with drip hoses. They were stepped on and broken. He fixed them too. He has all the replacement parts in his van and gets the job done, even when there is an extra job to be completed. Prior to finding Neal, I had spoken to another person I found here on yelp. That person came over and looked at things, never wrote me a quote, never replied to my 2 emails reminding him that he was supposed to come back. LOL What joy it was dealing with Neal. My 92 year old mom was out of town and we had been wanting to replace her walkway that had been there since the house was built in the 40's. I spoke to Amado about replacing her walkway and could it be done in 2 days so it would be a surprise for when she got back. Before the job even began, he ran through several scenarios with me and was very patient. He understood my objectives both as they related to aesthetics and my pocketbook. In the end, we came up with a plan that was viable and as aesthetically pleasing as could be managed given the situation. Once the job began, the primary person of contact shifted to Julio, one of their project managers. He was on property every day supervising and working alongside his crew. The crew was very polite, hard-working and friendly. They were very well supported by Julio. This may seem like a given, but often it is not so it did stand out to me. Once all of the work was done, Julio gave me a final walk-through, showing me how the various components function and made certain that I did not have any lingering questions. I think there were two follow up visits after the work was completed in order to accomplish this. There was no point along the way where I felt like they were taking shortcuts, using materials that were inferior quality, or anything of that nature. Their concrete cuts were incredible, and I have seen some really bad cuts in my past. And they did a beautiful job with brick work, including redesigning some curved areas of brick that needed to be removed during the job. Veronica in the office was very helpful as well. But all of that wasn't even the best part of his work. When it came time to set up the Rachio, I originally thought "well i can just do this myself later." But he offered to talk me through each step, which turned out to be GREAT, because i had no idea if our soil was "loamy sand" or "silty loam", or how many minutes to water different areas, etc. Mani went way above and beyond, and really cared about every detail, including making the finished work look neat and tidy, and making sure the system works properly.
