Elmer responded within 30 minutes of me posting on Sunday morning. Waited a few more hours to get more quotes. (I had taken a very detailed picture of what the work would entail). I won't give the exact pricing, but Elmer's was reasonable while others simply don't respond or some ridiculous quotes (heard others talk about how some companies on Yelps are just preying on older folks to land their ridiculous quotes). The work was good (I can't really comment much, but jt was fixed). Elmer was cordial (but was late for about 30 minutes). Another little complaint I have is he doesn't take credit card. Still glad I found Elmer and his company. Highly recommended.

Our house sits on a corner lot with substantially large front and rear lawns. There were bald spots all over the place and half the front lawn was dying or dead. I had another irrigation company come out and tell me that I needed a whole new sprinkler system: Main line from the street to the house because the pressure was low; all brand new pipes across the yard because the older pipes had clogged with rust; new valves for all 12 stations because they too were clogged with rust; all new sprinkler heads because they were the wrong ones in the first place. They promised to fix of my sprinkler problem for the low, low price of $11,000. Then I called Dr. Sprinkler. They sent Joseph out to assess the situation, make his recommendations, and he himself would be there to do the work. Together we walked the entire front and rear yards checking each station. Joseph determined the following: 1. There was plenty of pressure from the street to the house. 125 psi was plenty to handle the load; 2. None of the valves needed replacing. Each one flowed strong with plenty of water pressure; 3. None of the pipes needed replacing. Joseph simply removed the sprinkler heads, turned on each valve and cleaned the lines of dirt and pebbles that were restricting the flow of water; 4. He replaced about 12 sprinkler heads that were no longer working properly. He installed new sprinkler heads that provided enough coverage to hit all of the bald spots on the lawn that were not getting water; 5. He added on additional sprinkler to provide better coverage; 6. He capped a sprinkler that was not needed; 7. He reset our automatic timer to increase the amount of watering and add one day to the cycle. The result? The lawn was unbelievably transformed to a lush, green carpet within two weeks. And the cost? $775.00 Need I say more?

Long story, we had a bad irrigation person install our sprinklers in 2018. He totally overloaded the valves and also used cheap sprinklers so while they worked initially, apparently when the city reduced the pressure to homes, the sprinklers dropped in pressure significantly which then resulted in lack of coverage. So in 2021, I hired a highly rated irrigation specialist who charged me over $2,500 to supposedly fix my sprinklers which again kinda worked but after 6 months which was within the warranty, he was nowhere to be found so I had coverage issues again. but because of COVID , I took to hand watering the gaps as an activity and was able to keep things going. Fast forward to 2025 and not only was the coverage bad but the city must have reduced the pressure again so now none of the front sprinklers for the lawn could even pop up so I had to hand water the entire front lawn 2-3 times a week. This was getting to be too much but I struggled to call another irrigation company because I was worried I would be bamboozled again and we can't afford that but I just couldn't hand water forever and we even thought of going drought resistant which we are not a fan off so I did a ton of research to try to find another company that I could trust. I reached out to 3 companies and Gilberto (Gilbert) was the only one who identified the issue that my entire system was on sprinklers that were not pressure regulated which is now the current standard in California. Plus the others proposed significantly more invasive and cost prohibitive solutions. I don't know the technology but essentially the pressure regulated sprinklers helps add pressure so when the water pressure is not strong, it gives it a boost. This helps conserve water and I was floored by Gilbert offering to come and install a few to test it out for effectiveness and he even gave me a guarantee that if it didn't work, I didn't have to pay. Can you believe that? Well he came as he said he would, installed a few and the difference was amazing! So then we decided to fixed all the sprinklers in this same manner and one day , he texted me to say he had been thinking about our project and he wanted to share that there was a chance the fix may not work because we had 40 sprinkler heads on one valve. ( the max should be 8-12). Well we then discussed options and because of how genuine and knowledgeable Gilbert was, I put my trust in him and he implemented his plan. And voila! It now works and he even fertilized my grass afterwards to help it along and the photos say it all and as much as I love my garden, I am happy to have 3 hours a week back that Im not hand watering. Plus, he heard me complaining about how one sprinkler head was blocked by a plant and next thing I noticed, he added a riser. That wasn't even in our scope of work. And Gilbert has followed up 2 times in the last month to just see how things are going. I feel valued and he clearly takes pride in his work and cares about his customers and wants to have long term relationships. It's hard to find honorable and capable people these days but I finally found my irrigation prince after the frog.

He troubleshot the system and found the issue, which required a new valve to be installed as well as a wire to be relocated. Before he left, I showed him some sprinkler heads that we had replaced with drip hoses. They were stepped on and broken. He fixed them too. He has all the replacement parts in his van and gets the job done, even when there is an extra job to be completed. Prior to finding Neal, I had spoken to another person I found here on yelp. That person came over and looked at things, never wrote me a quote, never replied to my 2 emails reminding him that he was supposed to come back. LOL What joy it was dealing with Neal.
