Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas. The location is great, the castle theme is fun, and there are plenty of dining and entertainment options available. The hotel offers good value for being on the Las Vegas Strip, and I liked the overall atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room when we arrived . I found hair on the bed, small stains on the sheets, and crumbs that had not been cleaned up. While these issues did not ruin my trip, they were noticeable and made the room feel less clean than expected. Despite the housekeeping concerns, I still had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the hotel's amenities and convenient location. If the cleanliness standards were improved, I would be much more likely to give this hotel a higher rating and stay again in the future. read more

Pros: 1. Good location- close to NY,NY, & MGM (where the monorail is); free tram to and from Luxor & Monday Bay 2. Relaxed atmosphere compared to mid-strip - good for kids, elderly 3. Price is one of the lowest on strip. 4. Rooms are surprisingly quiet (We stayed in the Royal Tower) 5. The pool area was a decent size, drinks made strong & bartenders were friendly-However, there is no shade (unless you pay extra for it) the pool chairs are in terrible condition, but overall the pool area is pretty clean. Cons: 1. Dismal food choices (avoid the buffet at all costs- it truly sucks) Better idea? Eat somewhere else, like in the NYNY hotel for cheaper, tastier options. 2. Staff members were pushy & sometimes rude- not 1 person offered to help us with anything & seemed put-off if we asked a question regarding check-in, room service, etc.... In fact, the only people who talked to us were the aggressive solicitors who hounded us every tie we entered or exited the building. 3. Our room was disgusting- cracks (and human hairs) in sink, several stray hairs on the bathroom floor & ceiling; scratchy, thin towels, a bathroom fan circa 1981; smelly carpet; basic cable only (No Netflix); broken lamps & chipped old furniture. Added bonus? When we checked in, we found a used, dirty loofah (left behind by a previous guest?) in our shower. 4. Overall the hotel looks really cool- I actually love the theme, but the smell cannot be overlooked- it was so bad that we literally decided not to eat inside the hotel. Unfortunately we did not have the best experience here. I know going in to lower my expectations but since we got a comped room we decided, "Hey, why not!" We upgraded to the room with an in-room tub...let's just say it wasn't very clean and it was beyond underwhelming. Our TV didn't function properly, there was feces in the toilet, well I could go on but those thing are enough. We did notify the staff and they didn't seem too phased only offering to re-clean the toilet. They sent maintenance to fix the TV only for them to tell us there was nothing they could do. The check-in process was not great. They only want you to use the kiosk. While I understand this is the "new Vegas" you loose a bit of connection and ability to ask questions about the room location. In small print it says you cannot use digital payment. So about an hour after I thought we checked in we were notified payment was declined. Checked with my back and there was no issue. Called Excalibur for them to tell me they would run it again but didn't know when. Only to wait three hours still with no update. Went in to check status and only then was I informed it was because I use Apple Pay. I think this should be made more clearly and maybe even stated verbally when you're directed to the kiosk. Overall not a great experience and will not be staying again. Not even if it's comped. read more

The pros: the room was clean, beds were comfortable, the pool has a water slide, and the arcade was fun. The cons: This needs it's own paragraph. The communication and clarity at this hotel was probably the worst I've seen. The staff all told us different answers when we had questions, signs around the hotel had inaccurate instructions (like checking out for example), some staff were incredibly rude. I was simply waiting for my husband and son to come out of one of the bathrooms on the casino floor and I was told I couldn't stand near the bathroom to wait for them. I had my 2 year old in a stroller with me, and all of our suitcases because we had just arrived. I was literally told I had to keep walking even though I told them my family was using the restroom. It was the most odd moment I've ever had in any hospitality setting. I had to awkwardly and slowly walk away from the bathroom, hoping my family would notice me and catch up with me as they came out of the bathroom. No empathy or apology as I'm struggling to push my child in the stroller, while trying to also move all of our suitcases. Mind you, we were not in anyone's way, and I was not standing by one of the casino machines--I was simply standing near the bathroom wall. The pool is great but literally had zero shade unless you wanted to pay extra... you have to pay for shade. It was a wild experience and I honestly am so relieved the experience is over. I stayed at Excalibur this past weekend during a quick trip to Vegas. I try to stay somewhere new each time that I go, and this time we ended up here! We knew we wouldn't be spending a lot of time in our room and the rate was undeniably crazy cheap, so we booked at Excalibur. We arrived in town early and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to check in quickly and have a room ready hours before the advertised time of 4pm. The room was decent! Honestly no complaints. Our bed was comfy and the shower water pressure was good, so I mean, not a lot to gripe about. Mini fridge wasn't as cold as we wanted but I feel that's standard for most Vegas hotels. Our view was nonexistent, facing a dirty wall, but whatever. We stayed in the newer renovated tower and it was pretty nice. We did really enjoy the pool. We wanted to make a point to actually go because it was sooo hot. They have four different pools, all pretty good size. One of the pools is only accessible for exclusive members but the other three were perfectly fine. For how hot it was, we were glad that none of the pools were overwhelmingly busy. We were able to secure lounge chairs and a good spot in the pool without a problem. The hotel itself has decent food options ranging from sports bars to casual walkup eateries. And of course lots of drink options. They had solid deal where you can get a double marg for under $6! We indulged in a few of those - available at all bars in the hotel! The main thing that put us off to staying here again is how AGGRESSIVE the staff is to try and push sales. When we walked in we were immediately hounded by hotel staff to purchase tickets to shows, extra nights, etc. This happened over the duration of our stay every single time we walked through the hotel. I get that it's a part of their job, but they are RELENTLESS here so be prepared to say no a LOT. I have never been in to the Excalibur in the past since it's a ways down the strip (imo) but it was fun getting to check out a new-to-us hotel. I know Excalibur is an older hotel, but that's not an excuse. Our first-floor room felt extremely dated and worn down. The shower was in serious need of repair, and the overall room just didn't feel well maintained. The popcorn ceilings and aging interior made everything feel tired. The arcade was also disappointing. We spent about $150, and it felt like we barely got to play before our credits were gone. It just wasn't a good value. Excalibur has potential, but it's definitely time for a major refresh! Here's the pros: front desk agent helped me get cards when I forgot my phone with my digital card in the room. I recently visited the Excalibur Hotel and Casino and I can see why this is still a budget friendly option that's located right on the Strip. Very large property with lots ot see. Unfortunately it isn't maintained as well as I remember back in the early 2000s. Restrooms are also not clean. Missing toilet seat covers and toile paper. There were many people checking in and I can tell that the staff was trying to keep their cool with the influx of customers. Parking is available on-site, but it's not free anymore. There is paid self-parking and valet, with in-and-out privileges once you pay, which is convenient if you plan to move around the Strip. As for the casino areas, it is not fully non-smoking. Like most Vegas casinos, smoking is allowed in designated areas, so you may notice cigarette smoke while walking through the gaming floor. I am hoping one day it will be completely non smoking as it is hard walking around the casino and trying not to get 2nd hand smoke. And even harder when I bring kids along. There are some must see events at this hotel that I recommend: 1. Tournament of Kings: This is the most iconic experience at Excalibur--a live medieval dinner show with knights, horses, jousting, and pyrotechnics. You eat with your hands while watching the show, which makes it super interactive and fun. Quite fun if you are bringing kids. 2. Fun Dungeon Arcade: Lots of games located at this arcade. Definitely fun with kids and it is casual and entertaining. 3. 4D rides and attractions: I saw the signs about this immersive 4D experience but didn't have time to try it out. Surprisingly a solid option when needing a room on the strip. My friend booked a room for Wrestlemania from Thursday to Monday. The room was clean and had just enough space for two adults. The air conditioning was on point and the TV was a good size. Definitely a place to shower and rest to get back out where all the action is. Though considered a large resort, I found it very convenient to get in and out of. We had a room on the second floor and didn't have a view at all aside from a wall and what appeared to be a forgotten ladder. Fine for me we just kept the curtains closed. There was a desk which was perfect for us to leave our things and a few bottles on. The dresser had room for what might have been a fridge but we didn't use it. The bathroom was clean but dated. The shower door actually didn't close all the way. No biggie for me though. Inside the shower, there were two dispensers of shampoo! No soap, shampoo! I made it work. So my only hair is as smooth and shiny as the hair on my head. Lol The toilet was super low to the ground and flushed on its own. I had to jimmy it to make it stop. Initially I thought the room was haunted. I didn't spend too much time in the room but if I had to I would. The bed was comfy and had three fluffy pillows. Quality you wouldn't expect. Did not dine at the buffet or fancier restaurants but did have Krispy Kreme and Johnny Rockets. Solid but the latter being extremely pricey. If I needed a place to stay and didn't have comps, I wouldn't mind staying here. Location, price and service. Everyone that I interacted with that worked at the property was friendly and welcoming. Where to begin? I've stayed at most of the big name Vegas hotels over the past several decades and I've seen a few of them torn down for less. The once mighty Excalibur is now a shadow of its former self. If you're misguided enough to spend money to stay there, be prepared for filth and dysfunction and nearly every turn. The rooms are grotesque. The "digital" check in and keycard system is broken. Room service includes zero service. And whatever you do, do NOT flush the toilet! It doesn't matter if it's a number 1 or 2, that sucker is going to make your bathroom floor into a slightly cleaner version of the Excalibur swimming pool. I asked for a full refund and actually got it. The staff knows what's up. If this dump is still standing by 2028 i'll be shocked. read more

Had a stay from Thursday to Sunday for a concert we were going to. Stayed on the resort side. Room looked pretty clean. Only negative really is the carpet leaves your feet black, so you need to wear your shoes the whole time. It's always like this there. This time we mentioned it at checkout. We said the carpet left our feet black, I think they thought we were saying it was dirty ( actually it was if it turns your feet black) they asked if we had a picture of the carpet, well no, you can't tell just from looking at the carpet. I said I could go back up there and walk across the floor and come back down and show them my black feet. They laughed and said no. They ended up comping one night resort fee. Next time it happens I guess I'll let them know immediately. Otherwise it was a good stay. read more

On June 25, 2026, at approximately 11:15 AM, my wife and 3-year-old son were struck and kicked by a mother and child who aggressively pushed past them down the water slide. The top-level lifeguard on duty completely failed to prevent them from going down, compromising my family's safety. Prior to the incident, I observed this same lifeguard messing around with another staff member and throwing water bottles down from the slide tower. They had a fatal incident here June 2023, I hope they will train the staff member/lifeguards to take their job or duties more serious. read more

For a cheap hotel on the Strip (we only paid $70 for the night), it mostly met our expectations. The giant castle was fun to look at. The rooms were dingy and outdated, which was fine. The wait time to get a room was frustrating though. They have kiosks for self check-in, which made us think the process would be very efficient. However, we waited at least 20 minutes after we checked in for a room to actually be assigned to us via text. This was very frustrating as it was very late at night, so the rooms should have been ready by then. It was crowded with nowhere to sit, so we sat on the floor waiting. Even though I had booked a room with one king bed, we discovered the room had two queen beds. Parking, as is the same for most hotels nearby, was $20 per day on weekdays. read more

The Excalibur will always have a soft spot in my heart! When we were young and broke this is where we would stay in Vegas. I even got married many moons ago here... But today we came to tiki and play! The new tiki bar is a sight to be seen and tasty drinks. Spacious and decorated to be exotic. Plenty of fruity concoctions and frozen drinks. But the music is nit ehat one would expectbat a tiki bat but beaides that we enjoyed the tiki. The game table minimums were right on par for our Excalibur expectations ($10 roulette at 4pm on a Friday afternoon.) The employees were all nice and friendly. I've been a House Seats member for about a year on a 2-year membership, and it's been a solid value. I've seen 2-3 shows and the membership more than pays for itself. The shows are fun and entertaining, a great way to enjoy Las Vegas entertainment without breaking the bank. Most recently, we went to see the Australian Bee Gees tribute show at Excalibur, and the show itself was fun. However, what really left a bad taste was Excalibur's decision to charge a flat $30 for parking simply because the Golden Knights were playing at T-Mobile Arena that night. Here's the thing, we weren't going to T-Mobile. We were locals coming to Excalibur for a show provided through House Seats membership. Because of the membership deal, we were there to be customers potentially dining, gambling, and spending money at their hotel after the show. Instead, Excalibur and several other hotels in the proximity of T-Mobile have figured out that they can cash in on event nights by charging everyone a flat $30 parking rate, regardless of where those people are actually headed. Yes, they may be making extra money on parking but they're losing far more in the long run. Because of that unexpected charge, we made the decision to leave right after the show and take our dining and gambling dollars to South Point instead, where we had a great time spending money we had originally planned to leave at Excalibur. If Excalibur thinks they're winning by squeezing locals for parking, they're not seeing the bigger picture. The business they lose from frustrated customers, people who came for shows, dinner, and gambling, far outweighs whatever they're collecting at the parking booth. As a local, I'll now be reconsidering any hotel within proximity of T-Mobile on event nights. There are plenty of other options on the Las Vegas Strip and beyond that actually value the business locals bring. House Seats, still worth it 3 stars. Excalibur, do better, for now you lost my business. read more

Excalibur is a decent place; I came here to frolic in the casino area with my friends because apparently it's less smoky than other casino lobbies. I think that was probably true to some degree, but there were still plenty of people smoking (I'm very sensitive to it/it makes me sick). The waitresses in the lobby area were really friendly though! I appreciated how hard they work. I've never stayed in the hotel rooms here but I'm told they're fairly spacious and that on the whole, this hotel is a little more kid friendly than most others. Excalibur was way more magical in my childhood memory.... pretty sure 'kid-me' stayed at a completely different hotel!!! These days, there's zero human interaction at check-in... unless you count the three staff members whose only job seems to be pointing at the kiosks you're already standing in front of. You check yourself in, then immediately go to another kiosk to make your own room keys, bc apparently that's a separate life skill now (being your own front desk clerk). Pro tip: Pay the $20/day flat fee for your vehicle and it connects to your room (your room key doubles as your parking pass and you scan it to get in/out of the parking area). *If not, you will be paying $20 every time you go in and out the gates. You're welcome!! Let's talk about the dogs.... We picked Excalibur bc it's dog-friendly..... great news for your inner Disney princess and Toto. Unfortunately, the south side entrance looks more like a biohazard zone. The turf and sidewalks are generously decorated w dog poop, courtesy of guests who apparently believe poop is a natural landscaping feature. They don't provide the doggy poop bags but I don't think this matters since guests allow their dogs to poop everywhere without picking it up (mind boggling!!). The hallways feel like actual medieval dungeons.... dark, dim, and mildly concerning, while the interior clearly needs a glow-up. That said, the rooms are surprisingly spacious, the bathrooms are huge, beds & room couch were comfy. Housekeeping does a great job tidying up. Oh my god .... I am giving 7/10 as generous, because I know some folks at the hotel work really hard , the front desk saved my entire experience from hell. I am SUPER upset with the cleaning staff. I got to hotel and saw a CUP empty beer cup looking thing dirty outside my room.... I was worried someone was inside. Turns out no, but it was there I leave and 5-6 hours later come back and it's still there ! I slept and next day I see cleaners in the hall and it's still there ! The shower rod also BENT and broken, the carpet was dirty inside my room and outside in hall. Oh man. Sorry will not be back. I hope MGM works on managing the CLEANING STAff better. My stay at Excalibur Hotel was quite exceptional! We ubered here from the airport. Based off my last experience of staying here, I really wanted to come back! Checking in was a little confusing. At this hotel, they want you to check in at the kiosk. After you check in at the kiosk, you wait up to 10 minutes to receive a text or email so you can get a QR code and go to a different area to activate your room keys. There is always someone that works for the hotel to help. I never received that text/email so I am glad they were there to help! With the help of that same person, she directed us to the side of the hotel we were on. We got into the gorgeous clean room, put our stuff down and went to P-A-R-T-Y!!!! We visited Dick's. It's located within the casino of Excalibur. I consider it a must go if you can handle insults and crude humor. We did more, too, but that's for the next Yelp Review. When we got back to our room, our beds were so comfortable! 3 pillows each, nice tight made bed, great view overlooking some of the strip. The showers had great pressure (you don't need a pic of the bathroom, do you?!) We had plenty to do in this hotel & casino! Does Excalibur REALLY deserve the criticism it gets? Here's the 2026 Lowdown! CHECK IN: Until you get it through your heads that the MGM app is convenient and incredible I'll keep putting it here. Digital room keys are sent to the app AS SOON as the room is ready! My key arrived at 08:35am! Results may vary. No front desk visit needed. Room: In a place that gets mixed reviews, room type matters. Cheapest standard room gets the most use so- naturally more wear and tear and dings. Upgraded rooms while still heavily used, slightly not as much. I opted for an upgraded Resort Tower Superior hot tub room. It was like walking into an MGM Grand room from 2017-ish. Excalibur got "hand me down" furniture from MGMs old design. It looked good then, it looks good now. Things were in great condition and minimal imperfections. The shower and bathroom looked redone and is in line with todays standard. Casino is up to date, carpet is in great condition and has a new Tiki bar. I was pleasantly surprised and think this is a go to hotel. i hadnt stayed here in MANY years. read more

It's honestly a good hotel for the price. It's one of the more affordable options on the strip and I'll usually stay here when I just want a decent place on the strip without breaking the bank. There's a lot of fun attractions and hotels right near by since we are next to NY NY, Luxor, and MGM. It's not a far walk from center strip either. We flew to Vegas just for the weekend and needed a place to stay which was close to a show we were going to see and something close to The Strip and walking distance to a lot of places. This place was pretty perfect. I really liked the hotel lobby. Made me feel like I was in King Arthurs castle. Our room was OK. The view was OK if you don't mind seeing the parking lot, but in the distance, you can see the MGM which was nice. The bathroom was good because the lighting was good. The lighting in the room was too dark so during the day, keeping the drapes open helped a lot. The AC was a little too noisy. The fridge didn't get cold enough. I didn't realize there was a safe until I opened ALL THE DRAWERS. Usually, the safe is in the closet. The bed was comfortable. A lot of outlets to plug in to charge our cellphones was nice and helpful. TV channels not that great to choose from. Plenty of places to eat in the food court. I just wish they were open during the night. Too expensive to eat there anyways. The following day, we bought snacks which saved us a bunch of money. Buying a snack at one of the places located in the hotel will cost you an arm and a leg. Would I come back? MAYBE if I have young kids with me. They have an area for kids to play games which looked pretty good. read more

As they say, you get what you pay for. This was my first trip to Las Vegas, and I do wish I had chosen a nicer hotel than Excalibur. Pros: Very comfortable beds. Karen at the reservation desk was amazing--our request for side-by-side rooms wasn't originally honored, but she went above and beyond to fix it and even moved us to a nicer area of the hotel. Truly great customer service. Cons: The casino had a strong smell and the machines were crammed too closely together. Room outlets didn't hold phone chargers well, and there were no USB ports. Bathroom lamps were rusted, while another room in our party had recessed lighting that felt much newer--despite being told we were in a "newer" section of the hotel. No complimentary bottled water, and water in the hotel shop was $6.50 for a very small bottle. Overall, it was acceptable for the price, but next time in Vegas I'll be staying somewhere more updated and comfortable. read more

Today I went to the Excalibur to check my Son and his friends into the hotel. I had a conflict at the beginning of my visit with one of the associates in lobby, which left me feeling unsure about how the rest of my experience would go. However, associate Arcell stepped in and completely changed the tone of my visit. The cashier at the cage, the check in desk, the people that work here are very nice, but Excalibur deserves 2 stars bc of the 24 hour non stop foul smell. When you enter from the side where vip parking is, it reeks of sewage as you enter. It smells really bad. Thats very uncomfortable for me and the fact the smell never went away the 2 days I was there sucks. I was also disappointed in my suite. It just smells bad and old. I think this place needs a good renovation! They have interesting restaurants like dicks last resort and they have my favorite show, the Australian bee gees. For this they get 3 stars. After driving for hours and arriving to our "Ready" room this is what I walk into. Room still dirty trash all over beds not made dirty bathroom, but somehow this room was marked as ready and assigned to me. After getting the attention of a housekeeping lady who was 2 doors next to this room said she was calling the supervisor, after 20-30 mins of waiting outside the room the lady became furious after I asked if it would be much longer for the supervisor to be here. Had to go downstairs to the lobby and wait another 20 minutes. Finally got my room changed after 1 hour of BS. No apology from anyone in the hotel, didn't want to give me any sort of comp or anything for the bad experience. Location is good have never had a bad experience other than the time there was dead cockroaches, until today. read more

After four days at the Bellagio we wanted to extend our stay so we booked here for a renovated room. We went from heaven to the slums. Lol. The rooms here have mismatched room furniture, filthy windows, a floor and shower that I refuse to walk in unless with shoes on. We called down to guest services March 9 around 3:00 pm and a "Dakota" answered She was very rude. We asked if we were sent to the wrong room because it doesn't look renovated. She replied "you got the room for free and you're complaining ". She then hung up on us. Didn't want anything bad happening to us during our visit so that's why I'm reviewing days later. Later that day we spoke to some of her coworkers who agreed she is rude. The beds were comfortable. The toilet flushed. We never turned on the TV. read more

a cheap no frills option for a hotel on the strip. its got everything you need for a vegas trip. its more on the end of the strip but everything is pretty walkable so its fine. theres casinos and a tiki bar with a great happy hour and food court and a few pools. but you wont be spending most of your trip in this hotel. the rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep. showers were fine. overall rooms were good. its right across from the new As stadium so you can watch them build it. i wouldnt mind staying here again if i find myself in vegas. read more

We didn't stay in Excalibur hotel but watched the Australian Bee Gees concert in The Thunderland. The venue was really cool place. Not big but enough to enjoy the show. There were tables and chairs available for seating . Bar to ordered drinks. It was a great show. They did a great job . read more

I stayed at Excalibur years ago! It honestly was better than I expected, since I know it's an older hotel with not the best reputation compared with others on the strip. I went recently for a show, and the hotel was still cool to walk around. I love that it's shaped like a castle. read more

Nothing fancy at all, and the hotel and rooms are a little dated. But it's decent. The property is huge and in a somewhat central location. You can walk across a sky bridge to NYNY and it also connects to Luxor and Mandalay Bay, either by walking through shops or by a tram. The casino is a decent size and there's a few lounges. The rooms are getting kind of old and still have the popcorn ceilings. But it's clean and adequate if you're looking for a budget to low medium value place to stay. read more

Came with a group of friends for a few nights. We got two seperate same price rooms. However once we arrived, one room was much smaller than the other. When we complained about it, they did not want to help us out and got annoyed with us. Eventually they gave us another room and they were finally similar. It's a good hotel for a family, for the kids. The arcade is okay, you just need to be Lucky finding someone for the booth games. The food court was meh, I believe every other hotel nearby had way better options and a better look. There isn't free breakfast, no free parking, no free coffee, it's just an okay hotel. read more

Excalibur is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip, and it's kind of like a Motel 6 in the sense of you get what you pay for, so don't expect anything high end. For $50-$60 per night, you can have a clean-ish room (only issue with cleanliness in our room was the A/C vents, which looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, access to a gym (which closes at 6:00p with the rest of the spa), and perhaps access to a pool (though it temporarily closes in the winter months). The elevators are hammered and the key cards don't work half the time. But from the hotel, you have easy access to the casino and one of the cheapest breakfast buffets on the Strip. There's also a free shuttle to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay properties. If you're not looking to stay inside all day (whether you're gambling, golfing, exploring Vegas, etc.) and just need a place to sleep, this place gets the job done, and the medieval decor around the resort is kind of fun. But if you want a place to relax and offers a lot of in-hotel amenities, there are probably better options. read more

I rarely give under a 3 star rating so I dont give this unless its deserved. First-staff were very friendly except the Guest Service guy who blamed us for everything that went wrong. We had adjoining rooms but when we went to the room at 630pm one of the rooms had a Do Not Disturb on the door handle. The key opened the door so I knocked and slowly entered in case someone was still in there. The room had not been turned over yet ( see photos). We called to the front desk and they apologized and said they'd send someone up to clean. We piled into one room for the time being and went to dinner at 8 Oz ( check that review-great kbbq). Returned around 10pm and room still hadnt been touched. We call down again and said no one came to turn over the room so they apologized and said they'd send someone and gave us a $75 food credit. About an hour later a housekeeper came so we left to check out the rest of the hotel so she could work, and use the food credit to get gelato ( delicious) and Starbucks-which both places confirmed we had and credited. We returned after 1230am to the rooms- excited to shower after flying in from Hawaii and roaming around in smokey casinos. However the housekeeper only changed the towels and put new toilet paper. The trash was still there, the previous keys still there, still old food in the sink and the fridge and the beds were still dirty and a mess. Frustrated now and went to the Guest Service desk and showed them photos. She was very understanding and nice ( as everyone had been thus far) and said she was calling the manager of housekeeping herself and was waving the room fee for that day as it was now approaching 1am and the room wouldn't be done until around 2am. Housekeeping came and we finally got to use the room around 330am. The room doesnt have a clock or coffeemaker, the sink faucet was broken, and rusted fire sprinklers in this newly renovated tower- but we were in town for BTS so just needed beds ( super comfy) and a shower. 2 days later we started seeing charges for the gelato/ coffee from the first night. My friend checked her credit card and everything including the first night with resort fees were charged to her. She went to guest services and the guy ( wish we had his name but it started with a Z?) blamed us saying he didn't see any $75 food credit, no record of room issues ( though the other guests service people saw in their records) and they dont wave costs like that. His attitude was horrible and told us to " calm down" after my friend told him "No! This is what you all offered us. We didn't ask for it but you all made the mistake not us." My friend honestly wasn't yelling but was stern. She wasn't swearing or being inpolite. Honestly if she did he would've deserved it. We told him if this is how Excalibur handles guests then never mind the $40 we had left on the food credit but we weren't paying the $35 we used and they absolutely cannot not charge us that first night. We also wiped the entire room down with saniwipes because we knew the housekeeper was rushing. He agreed to square up from there -smiling like he did us a favor. We told him we didn't "cause" the room to be missed being turned over after he said it was because we didn't remove the do not disturb sign from the previous gues. I told him I didn't want to touch it, and why is that the only clue to terminally clean between guests. We said they need to play fair and we expected them to honor what they offered us. Their internal communication systems obviously arent functioning properly but blaming new guests and previous guests for it is rediculous. Im speechless still. We didn't ask for them to give us anything but a clean room. Also the AC wasnt working well on Thursday night in the lobby so it was a sweatfest. Never ever staying or recommending this place again which is sad because most of the staff were really friendly and they have the comfiest beds ( not confident in how clean). I cant even give an extra star because Excalibur cant be trusted. Go for the gelato and breakfast sandwiches but otherwise steer clear. read more

I think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who are expecting a hotel experience that matches the upper echelon of what MGM has to offer, but getting it for a rock bottom price. That doesn't work anywhere else, so I am confused why people think it would here. First and foremost, manage your expectations of what Excalibur has to offer. This is one of MGM's two budget properties, it was built in the early 90's and yes, its a little rundown, but the price is set accordingly. We just stayed here and we had a pleasant stay. We booked one of the newly renovated resort tower rooms and it was perfectly fine, it has hand me down furniture from the MGM grand or Bellagio (Can't remember which), so its a little dinged up, but overall it was fine. As far as the room goes, my only real complaint is the TV wasn't particularly good, most of the channels were pretty bad quality. However, I don't come to Vegas to watch TV, so I don't particularly care THAT much. The casino itself is pretty good, with a decent amount of slots and tables, and a decent sized sports book. Sadly, as with all of the other properties on the strip, they are trying to push making your bets via the kiosks, but I really do not like this approach. I am not a mathamagician so I need someone explain it to me like I'm 5, not only do the kiosks make this harder, but the people they have standing near them are INCREDIBLY pushy. They will 100% try to get you to make extra bets and its just off-putting. Again, not something specific to this property, just a gripe that I have. I will say that my wife and both immensely enjoyed the castle theming was still (mostly) present inside, I think vegas should go back to this and ditch "every hotel has to be elegant", but I realize I am of a minority opinion on this. However we both get a kick out of it. There are a fair number of places to grab a drink, and at the time of this review, they are offering $3 margaritas. Thankfully the margaritas are mixed by hand and not some premade weak garbage. On the food front things are a little less ideal. They have a small food court with some of the same options you will find at other similar priced hotels, nothing too crazy. There is a Dick's last resort, a sports bar, and a Buca di Beppo. None of these were particularly appealing to us, so we didn't eat at any of them. Staying here puts you kind of down on the ass end of the strip, but you can walk to pretty much any other MGM property without spending too much time outside, it was 105 during the day so we did appreciate this. One negative was that whenever we entered/exited from the rear entrance to get to the parking areas, there was an ever-present smell of sewage. It wasn't overpowering or in your face, but I could definitely smell it. Not sure where it came from, and its not a dealbreaker, but its not exactly what I would consider pleasant. Overall, if you set your expectations accordingly, this is a perfectly fine place to stay if you are looking to save some money. Neither one of us are gamblers so we don't get any crazy offers, but we regularly get pricing where we just pay the resort fee, so this most recent stay was $150 for three nights, which I think is an entirely reasonable amount for this hotel. read more
