It has been months and he has not replaced them. He said many times he would replace them but hasn't and now he is not answering my text messages. Well, the last two times I traded vehicles, I went to AAA and had them reassign my special service plates to my new vehicle. I went there recently to do the same thing. They told me this time that they were not able to do so and I would have to go to DMV. They told me they have never had that ability. The lady who had previously made the adjustment was sitting right there at the counter. I told her, "You did it last time." She just shook her head and said they have never done that. So, one more trip up the hill to DMV. Now as far as roadside assistance goes, forget it. I had a dead battery on my former vehicle a few months ago about 15 miles from home. I called AAA and after negotiating their automated phone tree for at least 6 minutes, I was referred to a website to enter my vehicle and member info. I could not talk to a person no matter how hard I tried. So, I went to the website. I was asked to enter my vehicle license number. I have special service plates as noted above. It kept telling me my license plate was invalid. I tried at least a half dozen times and received the same response. I just gave up. Luckily my wife was home that day and I had her come out and bring me our booster box to jump my truck. What happens if I'm stranded on the freeway somewhere a hundred miles from home? AAA road service is not what it used to be. I am going to look for alternatives.
