All of this created a dubious dining experience before we even finished ordering! This spot offers a variety of chicken recipes: roasted, BBQ, Caribbean, pulled, fried, and more. Sides includes Southern standards like mac and cheese, yellow rice, greens, coleslaw, and others. The pulled (shredded) chicken was overly seasoned with black pepper. Roasted chicken was a bit dry. The BBQ chicken laden with sweet sauce was the best of the chicken choices. Creamy coleslaw was 'meh' and lacked flavor. Rice, too, was just okay. Northern beans were nicely seasoned and well cooked. Pita triangles seemed an odd accompaniment since no sauce or dip was provided and they were too small to make sandwiches. Overall, the restaurant seemed understaffed, which could account for the messy tables and dirty floor.

Good news here - "out of the way" is less than a mile off the interstate on a little side street that starts with a few houses and quickly becomes small farms - down home people but very convenient for travelers like me. Then, when I walked in and asked about some of the sides and the lady at the counter said, "Well, I make the white beans myself and cut the potatoes for the hash brown casserole by hand", I knew what to order with the ribs and pork. My to-go order was brought to the counter about two minutes after I finished paying (literally!)...quicker than most fast food restaurants...by a gentleman that I assumed is the lady's husband. Obviously, those two are the owners. Hands-on, A+ service always makes me want to go back...if the food is good. And things just kept getting better from there! The half rack of ribs were cooked nicely and were very tasty. I ordered to go but was still a bit surprised the ribs weren't cut, so I'll know to ask for that next time unless I'm planning to take them home with me. The pork was chopped pretty fine, more than I prefer, but had a really nice smoky flavor and was just a little dry but not much (the only reason for my 4 rating rather than a 5). And like all good BBQ places (in my opinion!), they put the tasty, spicy vinegar-based sauce in a small container where you can take it or leave it, depending on your preference. Trust me - if you like good BBQ and homemade sides served by people who really appreciate your business, give Head's a try. You won't be disappointed! The sides were terrific! The white beans were well cooked and had a nice flavor. And the hash brown casserole - wow! For a "main", my wife had the patty melt, which was quite good. I had the Bleu & Red Burger (for the 2nd time), which I really enjoyed. (For me, it could have been a bit spicier with a little more sriracha.) Each of our sandwiches came with a side, which defaults to French Fries. My wife swapped for a Side Salad for a $2 upcharge, which she liked quite well. Since I already had the Caprese Salad, I swapped for a Baked Potato (with butter and sour cream) that was cooked perfectly. I should comment on why we swapped out the fries. Cap's joins nearly everyone else in Clarksville at not knowing how to make crispy fries, even after crispy fries are requested. Anyway, we'll continue eating here. And if they ever mention to me that they've learned how to make crispy fries, I'll try them again.
