I have never written a Yelp! review for anything, but in this case I am compelled to do so simply because Exela Movers is a shining example of what people are looking for in a moving company. I was in a huge crunch because a larger company I had hired cancelled my move two hours before they were supposed to show up. I quickly scrambled to find another moving company, thinking I would be unsuccessful, particularly given the fact that I only had one or two days. Most companies told me that my move couldn't be done until late August or September. When we called Exela, I was delighted to find out that the owner of the company, Alexe, said he could pick me up in Boston at 8AM and drop me off in Wisconsin on Friday, a mere two days later. I think it is particularly important to note the efficiency of the reservation and the timeliness of delivery: Exela moved me about 12 hours after the initial phone call and delivered everything, half-way across the country, in 48 hours. Most companies require an inconvenient reservation date long in advance and may give you a delivery window of 7-20 days, often with many more complications, as was my case until Exela saved me. The uniformed staff are very friendly and showed up right on schedule. I was given an accurate estimate on the phone and the price did not change upon pickup or delivery (another quality you want to have in a moving company). The staff are extremely efficient. I ordered packing services -- all of my furniture was professionally wrapped, clothes placed in wardrobe boxes, dishes wrapped, TV placed in protective wrapping and box -- it only took them about 1.5 hours (studio apartment). The delivery in Wisconsin was just as efficient and timely as the pickup. Moving is a very stressful situation but this company made it quite easy for me. I have never written a yelp review, but I had such a good experience with Exela that I had to leave one. To put it simple, moving is awful, and working with Exela made it a piece of cake! if you're searching for a moving company, you can stop your search right now because if you use Exela you can be sure you'll get a great price, excellent movers, and have a very easy time working with them! First off, while they are a newer company, Alexe (owner) has been a mover in Boston for years and finally went out on his own. So you will get years of experience and professionalism with the move. Working with Exela: Alexe was wonderful to work with. His responses by email and phone were VERY FAST, he accommodated all of our needs, and everything was done professionally. We got an excellent price up front, there were no hidden fees, and their time estimate was very accurate. The move: this was the best part, it could not have gone any smoother. They arrived on time, loaded the truck quickly, and had no trouble moving large pieces around tight corners or up the stairways. we packed most of our stuff on our own, but they wrapped/packed the furniture and some of the artwork. And everything arrived in pristine condition! We even had 2 bikes and a surfboard in the truck, and I assumed at least one of them might get a ding (as surfboards/bikes typically do in a move) but everything arrived in Richmond, VA without a scratch. i couldn't believe it. i have since recommended them to all my friends in the Boston area because you cant beat them on price, professionalism, skill, and ease to work with. We needed to move our company Schmit Machine Inc and North American Elevator Products from one facility to another. A few years ago, we had a great experience when Exela movers moved my parents from NY to Boston, so I thought I would check to see if they could assist with our commercial move in NY.  Not only were they willing to do so, but they also helped me plan the move. Moving a house is stressful but I learned that moving a company is another level of stress. There are different things to take into consideration which required careful planning for months. Ultimately, we decided to move in stages and had Exela pack and unpack us to avoid lost income. Exela was able to work within our schedule to make the transition as seamless as possible. After studying the new business floor plan, they helped me prioritize items to move, tagged and color coded work stations for efficiency and ease as well as organized our small parts inventory to facilitate the move. They worked closely with our staff and made things easier for our shop manager so he could focus on the jobs coming in instead of the move. They were prompt and methodical, which is exactly what we needed. I couldn't have been happier. The best part of the process was that after it was over, the owner followed up with a simple phone call to see how we were settling into the new space. These guys saved me in a pinch. Sold my house on a Friday and needed to be moved out by the following Friday. The owner was able to accommodate my last minute request for service and was very responsive via email and hopped on a call with me to confirm all information. They were scheduled to be at our home at 8AM - they showed up at 7:45AM - 3 movers - all ready to roll! They were nice, friendly, and professional. They even managed to move all our stuff without waking up my newborn baby. One of the movers also had a newborn and could relate to our needs as new parents. So they quietly grabbed everything out of the baby's room, then closed the door before they tackled anything else. We had a dresser that was previously broken on the bottom and they notified me before moving it. They carefully transported my glass dining room table without any incident. They moved our really heavy armoire without any complaints (and even recommended a better location for setting it up in the new place - they moved it to 2 other locations I suggested but it would not fit). All furniture, TV's, etc were carefully wrapped, taped, and transported. Nothing broken. Just an FYI: we had a stack-able washer/dryer set that they could not move until someone unhooked the unit from the wall. Luckily my husband came home in time to do it. Otherwise, I'm not sure how else I would have been able to remove it myself. All in all, job well done. I had an amazing experience with Exela! I recently had to move out of state and decided to use a moving company for the first time. I was nervous about the process, but Exela did not disappoint! They were quick in providing a quote and were communicative throughout the process in the days leading up to the move, making sure to answer any questions I had in a timely and thorough manner. On the day of the move, I received notifications regarding the status of the Team, who would be arriving, and when. Daniel was the crew leader and was personable and informative, and the crew worked diligently to inventory all of my items and move them into the truck and didn't stop until the job was done, taking just over an hour (for a one bedroom apartment with furniture). I had some specific requests regarding the second day, and they were quick to accommodate. While moving my items in, they only stopped to ask if I approved of the placement of furniture and made sure I felt comfortable before they left. I had heard and read so many horror stories about moving companies losing items, racking up the price of the move after the initial estimate, and damaging items that I was hesitant at the beginning of the process, but I cannot say enough good things about this company and the people who work for it. They are thorough, friendly, and work hard to make sure you are satisfied, and I'd use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them for anyone looking for movers in the Northeast! read more

I can't say enough about Exela Movers. My wife and I have used many moving companies for various moves over the past 5-6 years, and Exela is by far the best we've ever encountered. We recently used Exela for an interstate move from Boston to Washington D.C. Exela gave us the most reasonable quote out of 7 or 8 moving companies that we spoke to, and Alexe, the owner, was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. We had many different questions about the size of the moving trucks, different types of quotes, and timing for the move, and he was willing to work with us on everything. He always responded within a couple hours, too, which was great. On the day of the move, our 3 movers showed up 15 minutes early and got right to work on our 2 bedroom apartment. What took previous movers closer to 3 hours to move took these guys only 2 hours. They didn't scratch or break anything and were super pleasant and respectful the entire time. They made it to D.C. right when they said they would the next day and were just as quick moving all of our furniture and boxes into a 2 story home as they were on the other end. Again, nothing broke, they did a great job getting a big mattress up a narrow staircase, and made sure everything was exactly where we wanted it before they left. My husband and I have worked with Exela Movers a handful of times, and we LOVE them. The owner is a pleasure to work with - a down to earth guy who really strives for top notch customer service. Exela is responsive and reliable and always gets the job done timely. We have had bad experiences with movers who damage your belongings or increase cost after quoting a specific amount. This was not an issue with Exela. We used them for moving furniture locally - including sentimental and very heavy furniture like a very heavy piano that has been in my family for years. That move was seamless and was a great experience. We also needed help while we were having construction on our house. We needed to move furniture from our house into a storage pod on our property and then back into the house post construction. Exela's rates to help with that were far more reasonable than other quotes I got and so we went with them again and again we were so impressed by their reliability, respect for our things and our time, and their commitment to good customer service. We were so happy with them that we recommended them to my parents who were moving to NY. They did a beautiful job with that move as well and were very helpful to alleviate some of the stress for my parents. These guys were fabulous A+ professionals and I would absolutely use them again. Their correspondence turnaround was quick, their communication thorough, and their prices more than fair. I've hired movers for the last three moves I've done and these guys have been my fave- no corners cut, no dawdling-- just really great professional guys who are experts at moving your stuff! The day of the move, they arrived a couple minutes early and got up and going! After a quick survey of the massacre (I was the first of many to move out of a multi-bedroom, multi-story apartment), they got to quick work wrapping and disassembling furniture, moving boxes, and packing the truck in the most efficient way I've ever seen. I had forgotten that I had built my bed in my up-awkward-stairs room, and without batting an eye, they disassembled it for me, and even put it back together in the new place, saving me HOURS of work and frustration. The guys were totally nice, too. I've spent a lot of time packing and moving things for my job lately and their efficiency and quality very much impressed me. Hire these movers!! I have only good things to say about Exela Movers. Alexe and his team of professional movers were top-notch. My husband and I moved from the suburbs into Boston at the end of July (on a VERY hot day). These guys arrived right on time and started in on packing up the furniture (they wrap each piece very carefully) and loading it into their truck. My husband and I had done a lot of pre-packing and had marked each box and piece of furniture with a label saying where it should go in the new house which they appreciated and found helpful. We had several pieces of exquisite antiques (huge and heavy). I was very worried about moving these pieces, but they handled them beautifully. Everything arrived without a scratch. They didn't mark any walls with scratches. Truly unbelievable work. They worked non-stop for 10 hours and took only 1/2 hour break for lunch which they deducted from the bill. I would hire them again without hesitation and will certainly recommend them to anyone who's looking to move. Reasonably priced too. Don't look elsewhere. We just moved from a large house on the Main Line near Philadelphia to Back Bay in Boston. I have heard so many moving horror stories that I was worried about each step. Alexe the owner was very informative and helpful throughout the process. He was always responsive, whether I phoned or emailed. The movers packed us up in Philly - they did such a good job that *nothing* was broken. They worked tirelessly and were pleasant and polite always. Although I knew I was downsizing and had to get rid of many things, we still ended up with many, many more boxes than anticipated. Alexe quickly arranged a second truck for us, and both trucks delivered the same day as scheduled, on time. I was very appreciative the the moving guys patience and professionalism throughout the process. And, we found the price to be extremely reasonable - quote was much lower than some other Boston movers. I am one happy customer and would not hesitate to recommend Exela movers to a friend. Heard about this business by word of mouth. I had never used movers before and was skeptical that I could do it better, faster or cheaper myself. Exela easily proved me wrong. I have never come to yelp to write a positive review, but I feel they deserve special mention. They were communicative and pleasant from my first email, listed a great price and took all the difficulties out of the equation. The day of the move, they arrived on time and got to work immediately. Working for an hourly rate, they moved so fast I could tell they wanted me to get my money's worth, and I feel like they earned every minute. What would have taken me all day and hours of stress took them about 4 hours, and I paid about half what I expected (such was their speed and efficiency). On top of that they were pleasant and professional, even humoring my mother-in-law as she tried to micromanage them. Could not recommend these movers more! my first long distance move (Boston to NYC) and Daniel, Nicu, and Igor did an amazing job. They came exactly when they said they were and they realized I had a flight and were not only speedy and efficient but made accommodations for me to be able to go to the airport on time. The parking situation in New York City was extremely stressful but they handled it professionally and were able to get the job done. Not only that, but both apartments I was moving out of and moving into were four floors and the humidity was about 100% but they still did an incredible job. I once got scammed moving so moving is an extremely stressful thing for me and they handled it with such ease and were able to get the job done in one day. Our moving date got pushed multiple times and each time I called or emailed Alexe, someone got back to me within 12 hours. On moving day, the guys were super efficient, and respectful of our belongings. They arrived a little early to see the products they were moving. It took them a little over an hour to load a full 2-bedroom apartment. I couldn't believe they had the truck loaded and we were on the road to our new house by 9:30 am! My wife and I hired Exela Movers after doing some research for the best company in the Boston area. We were moving from a two-bedroom apartment in Boston to a home in NY, so it was going to be quite the monumental task. Seeing all the rave reviews for Exela, I reached out and scheduled the move with them -- and I'm so happy I did! They were amazing. On the day of the move, a rain/snowstorm hit, but the crew still arrived on time and accomplished the job easily. This included moving all items out in 1 hour flat, a 6+ hour drive in whiteout conditions, and a full unpack in another hour flat. We had 3 movers, and they were all polite, professional, and took great care of all our items. Nothing arrived damaged or broken, and all items were accounted for. It was worth every penny! This is the first time I have written a review on Yelp, but Exela Movers deserves it. After having to cancel another moving company due to a change on the closing of my house, I was stuck with no movers at the end of August in the Boston area. I came upon Exela through Yelp and called them. They had someone cancel on them at the last minute, so I immediately put down a deposit and scheduled them within the next few days. They showed up to my apartment on time (in fact about 15 minutes early) and immediately went to work. They had my entire apartment packed up, drove north to Portsmouth, and unpacked the truck placing the furniture exactly where I needed it in less than 4 hours (plus no damage to any of the furniture or my new house). They were extremely efficient and very professional. The final price was even a bit less than quoted! I have hired movers before, but they were by far the best. read more

Great moving experience using Exela Movers for an interstate move. My ex had put my belongings in a non climate controlled storage unit and I lost some items to mold. The guys on the job helped by pointing out the items that had mold and held them up for me to take photos before leaving behind. They didn't mind that I was pretty grumpy due to the circumstances and cheered me up with their positive attitudes. They made a quick job of loading the trucks and were right on time the following morning at my house in MA. They worked hard unloading all of my belongings and asked which level and room I wanted the heavier furniture in. They left paths between the boxes so it was easy for me to navigate through with two trucks worth of items in a fairly small house. We moved from MA to NJ. After interviewing multiple moving companies, we went with Exela because their per hour rate was very reasonable compared to the others which charged by the weight or cubic feet. They also committed to loading and delivering our stuff the same day! Other moving companies quoted us a lot more in cost and gave us a 5-6 day delivery window. We are so glad we went with Exela! They made our moving experience as pleasant as can be. Besides the price, the most important reason why we recommend them highly is the super professional and friendly attitude that each member of the team had. My wife and I were moving from a 1bd apartment in MA to a house in NH. Exela's quote was better than all the rest and the reviews were great, so we went ahead with them. I received a text alert when the team left the facility to head to my apartment- well within the hour window they provided. Andrei and his team were EXCELLENT. In a little more than an hour, they had the entire apartment packed into their truck. Extra care was provided on fragile boxes and covers were provided for the furniture. After the hour drive to the destination, they were even faster on the unload!! The original quote estimated between 5-7 hours, but Andrei and his team were able to complete the entire move within 3 hours. Excela exceeded all expectations I had. Great price and got the job done fast. Trust that if you hire them, it will be worth it. read more
